- Linas (1/5): Worst night of my life - Usually 5 star experience. My husband booked a room for us, and was supposed to meet me there after flying in from a business trip in London. Staff allowed my to check my bag and kind enough to provide me with a complimentary drink ticket for the bar. Later that night, my world as I knew it came to an abrupt end when I got the call that my husband was not on the flight, but had taken his own life earlier that day. After being in complete shock and still trying to process this nightmare, I requested to speak to the manager. He stood there in the lobby, not even giving me the grace of a seated private conversation, so that I could tell him and a gaggle of complete strangers the worst news of my entire life to which he responded, “We offer you our condolences” then proceeded to walk me out to give me my bag back and threw me into the cold rain. I was a broken man in that moment and sought some level of compassion from what used to be mine and my husband’s “heaven on earth” hotel, then treated like a vagrant unworthy of their opulence.

We almost "weren't allowed to touch the doors" as the staff was always present and ready to help out. The place provided a stark and nice contrast to the city.

Executive Club Lounge was so fancy and the service and the space impeccable! Joyce in the lounge made the most perfect espresso martinis. Anytime I come to Chicago - I am staying here - with Club Lounge access! I've stayed at the Four Seasons and other 5 star in town - this beats all of them!

It was also located perfectly in the city center, in walking proximity to all our weekend activities. Mag Mile is right there and the dock for the Architecture Tour is located at a 5 minutes walking distance. If you have the opportunity to, would highly recommend The Langham Club as well. We spent half our time enjoying a staycation on property with club access, and also using the gym, pool, and sauna facilities. I was never one to enjoy my time in Chicago before I stayed at this hotel. All I want to do now is go back!

Marcus at the front desk set the tone from the very beginning with the perfect room on the 12th floor—stunning downtown and river views that made every moment feel peaceful and intentional. It was the perfect space for early morning meditations in the sunlight and quiet evening prayers as the sun set. This experience filled my soul with a renewed sense of energy, peace, and spirit that I didn’t even realize I needed this much. So grateful to everyone at the hotel for creating a space that felt safe, unforgettable, and truly healing.

Club lounge is a bunch of cheap pre packaged food items, barely anything fresh. Afternoon tea is a joke. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. I would not pay extra to utilize the floor, not sure why people rave about the club floor.

From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional professional, welcoming, and attentive. The room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The spa was a 10/10 experience and exactly what I needed to relax and recharge. The food was also outstanding,everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. This stay gave me the peace, luxury, and positive energy I was looking for. I truly felt taken care of the entire time. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Langham for a birthday staycation weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our visit from the moment we entered the front door until the moment we checked out. The staff was incredibly friendly, very attentive, and ensured we had everything we needed. When we checked in they delivered champagne, a balloon, and a cute buttercream cake to the room, starting the weekend off perfectly. The accommodations were well appointed and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the 12th floor suite provided a great view of the city. The hallways and room were quiet and uncluttered and every space was immaculate. We were able to easily walk to shopping, fine dining, and city sights. We spent all of Saturday in the Chuan Spa and I can definitively say this is the best luxury spa in the city. The treatments (facial, hot stone massage, foot mask) were all amazing. The service providers were knowledgeable and attentive. We had lunch poolside and then took time to enjoy the various steam rooms, saunas and lounge amenities. It was the perfect way to stay warm and relaxed on a cold wintery Chicago day. I highly recommend and we will definitely return. The Langham is our new favorite hotel in Chicago! Highly recommend!

- AmyEmilyT0214 (10/5): Classic example of an Asian-owned hospitality - A true stark difference from other properties I stayed in Chicago. I stayed here for 3 nights and have made my booking via the Amex Fine Hotels program. Upon arrival, porters greeted us and helped with our bags. I believe this hotel is part of an office building, so the main lobby is on the second floor. As we arrived, we were impressed by the design, the high ceiling with floor-to-ceiling windows, dangling art pieces, the Christmas tree, the piano, the fireplace, the overall grandeur, the amount of natural light being captured, as well as the iconic Chicago River view. It was spacious and elegant. The gentleman who helped with our check-in, Eloy, was professional and courteous. He explained everything in detail and helped us with the elevator. We were also pleasantly surprised that our room was already ready by noon. Our bag was delivered almost immediately after, we asked for glass-bottled water, and it came shortly after as well. Overall staff were very well trained, from porter to the concierge, spa staff to restaurant staff. We stayed at the Premier river view king room. It was beautiful and spacious, offered amazing view of the Chicago River and the surrounding skyscrapers. The marble bathroom was also spacious and featured a dual vanity. The in-room coffee machine was very clean, I ran it for the first time, and the water came down clear. There were ceramic mugs and cups, and a good selection of teabags. We also received complimentary champagne during turndown service on our first night. One night we ordered room service, and the lady from in-room dining also had very professional mannerisms, and communicated clearly and upfront about the wait time. The team was also able to have the food delivered within that promised timeframe. Breakfast was à la carte with standard offerings, and the overall food quality was good. The overall color tone of the hallway consists mostly of wood and cream, with warm lighting, which makes it comfortable. The hallway leading up to the spa and gym was decked out with marble, and edged decoration on the doorway. It was overall understated with a nice amount of asian influence. The spa was very clean, and has two types of saunas, and a relaxation lounge with heated chaise loungers. We have both enjoyed the spa very much during our stay. On the day of checkout, when we departed the hotel around 8:20 am, we did notice the absence of porters. We had a pleasant stay at the Langham, and I would recommend this property to those visiting Chicago.
- lmhagood (10/5): Fantastic Chicago Hotel - We had a fantastic Christmas stay at this beautiful hotel. Service, food, room - all 5 stars! If I had one tiny negative our room wasn’t quite ready when we checked in. No big deal…we were there a little before check in time and the hotel was very busy. We waited in the bar with a great view of the river and had a cocktail and before we even took our first sip of our drinks our room was ready. Highly recommend saying in the Junior Suite…perfect amount of room and a gorgeous bathroom with large shower and tub and ample closet space. Special mention to front desk staff and room service staff who always greeted you with a smile and perfect service! We’ve stayed in some fabulous hotels throughout the world and would definitely rank this hotel as one of our favorites.
- seekmazzy (6/5): Going downhill and spa was disappointing - I’ve stayed here many times and it feels like each time I experience a “downgrade” if you will. We’re here celebrating a wedding anniversary and we’re please to be upgraded to an “executive” suite which is code for a higher floor but crappy view. When I tried to use the spa this morning they made me use lockers by the pool which made for an awkward undressing and changing experience. In couldn’t even fully enjoy my experience. Meanwhile, I saw the attendant escorting other women into the spa and explain what each sauna was etc. but I was not offered the same courtesy. Perhaps they were receiving treatments and since I am a guest and only spending $800 plus on a room. I’m not entitled to the same treatment all in all. I’m very disappointed with this experience and likely won’t stay here for a while.

- ajchicago2026 (4/5): Perhaps consider the Peninsula or Four Seasons - The Langham is a decent property with spacious rooms (for a superior king). Location is great, very walkable to Michigan Ave and with plenty of restaurant options close by. However, for a five star property, service and staff are better at the Four Seasons (both front desk, daily service, and spa services as well.) Friendlier, better attention to detail and requests (should you have any) and efficient. Small things - like a dirty washcloth not being replaced from the previous guests, housekeeping forgetting to stop by to make up the room, dropping the ball in getting a special item delivered to the room for a 50th bday (despite several assurances it would be there) - these are all little things that add up to a subpar guest experience. It’s a perfectly fine hotel, but for a true personalized and luxury experience you are better off going to the Peninsula or Four Seasons. Food was consistently good (though service was slow, even in down times) so that was a plus.

The Langham Chicago has been my destination for celebrating special personal events. I can't think of a better luxury hotel to commemorate these important days, with the warmth and charm of its surroundings and exceptional staff. Keep it up, Langham Chicago....you're the GREATEST!!

The location is perfect—super walkable to great shopping and plenty of restaurants. The staff was genuinely friendly and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Even though this was a couples trip, we could tell the hotel is family-friendly. We’re returning with our whole family next time!

Not just because it’s a luxury hotel that completely lives upto that standard, but because it also has the most incredible team of people who are for you. They genuinely want you to have an amazing stay. The valet, the behind the scenes workers keeping the grounds clean and the entire service team. Renowned for its hospitality, the hotel seamlessly caters to families, couples, and solo travelers, creating a welcoming experience for all. Their facilities are gorgeous, the food is amazing (room service and the restaurant) the beds are so comfortable, the pool area and spa is amazing as well—weather you’re there for a couples weekend, for a family weekend or a solo trip, you will have the best time here. The pool is warm, the hot tub is hot. It’s relaxing. Our kids have fun and swim and we can sit and read quietly or join them swimming. The Langham Chicago is really is an exceptional host, the hotel warmly welcomes every kind of traveler—families, couples, and solo guests alike. Most importantly the group of employees you will encounter is the icing on the cake. Our stay this weekend was graced by Armando, Indra and Aleksandra upon check in who absolutely welcome you in and explain everything you need to know. They will tell you about events in the hotel or things you may be interested in (the play suite for children ect) they are there for any of your needs and as stated before they genuinely want you to enjoy your stay!!!! You can feel that from the moment you step in the doors. If you need anything they are your people. We were celebrating my birthday this weekend and they made it a weekend to remember. The day we checked out we ordered some lunch poolside , and Alex from room service was just great!!! In fact everyone who had any kind of service to provide this weekend blew us out of the water. We didn’t catch the gentleman’s name who brought us our dinner in our room but he poured our drinks for us after setting the table up, the gentleman who came to make up the sofa bed in our room was quick but so efficient and even offered to give us a heavier comforter if the one he brought wouldn’t be warm enough. Because of the way we are treated every single stay where we continue to call this our home away from home. We know nowhere else will come close to the way the Langham loves their guests.

They were also extremely thoughtful and kind during all interactions, while our questions were met with understanding and flexibility. - bunkerblake (10/5): The Langham Exceeded Our Expectations - My wife and I stayed at The Langham, Chicago, for a few nights with family around the time of our wedding. We both grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, but this was our first stay at the Langham, and we loved it. The first thing that stood out was how spacious the room felt. I believe we stayed in a Premier Room, and by city standards, it was huge. The bed was grand and extremely comfortable, with just the right firmness. One small detail that stuck with us was the distance between the foot of the bed and the wall-mounted TV. It made the room feel open and calm rather than tight or cluttered. The decorating felt elegant without being stiff or formal. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the espresso machine in the room. The bathroom was another highlight. The frosted glass window gave privacy while still letting light through, and the rain shower had intense water pressure and felt genuinely luxurious. The location was a big plus. It was easy to get to the Loop, Grant Park, Michigan Avenue, and neighborhoods like River North and Fulton Market. We had dinner nearby both nights, which made everything simple and stress-free. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant also stood out, even if the specific details blur together now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed there at the same time also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. Pricing felt reasonable for a hotel of this quality. For the room size, comfort, service, and location, it felt like excellent value and money well spent. We would absolutely stay here again and would gladly seek out other Langham properties in the future.

- DaraNewberry (8/5): NYE 2025 - I used to give this hotel a 5/5 star rating. In the past we have loved the Club room as an amazing amenity. However; now it is overrun with toddlers and babies at all times of the day. It’s hardly enjoyable for adults anymore. I suspect couples looking for a peaceful cocktail hour will soon look elsewhere unless they change the lounge to adults only for cocktails in the evening. Being overrun by loud screaming children is only lowering the quality of this amenity

The staff was very accommodating and helpful, especially with our child. They sent up extra trash bags for diapers, a crib, and a sound machine to help with getting good sleep on our stay. In-room dining was easy to set up and eating breakfast in the restaurant were all very nice and tasty. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Club floor, kids playroom, pool and pure perfection from staff! - This was a special stay that we shared with our son, wife and most importantly our 3-year-old granddaughter. Starting with Indra and Marcus at the front desk, and Alex at concierge, our experience with the splendors that the Langham had to offer began before we even entered our room! The ultra-professional team was accommodating at every turn. They made us feel like special guests and we knew that we were in good hands for the entire stay. Kudos to the concierge team who could recommend just the right place to eat for our circumstances. We also absolutely loved the Club Level floor! The rooms were an amazing tribute we have come to expect at such a fine hotel. On top of that, the availability of the club and again, the amazing staff of David, Jason, Nichole and the rest made us feel more at home then we feel at home! The Kids Suite definitely set you apart from the rest and needless to say was hit with our granddaughter. We can't wait to come back and do it all again. Langham! - 751charlesk (10/5): Family Trip to Chicago - Second year in a row that our large family stayed at the Langham. Last year we had a few issues with the accommodations. This year was perfect in every way. I really believe the hotel listened to my feedback and took note. Obviously, we would not have returned if it was a really bad situation. This is a beautiful property centrally located in the city with every possible amenity and outstanding service. I must have been asked 10 times if the hotel/staff could do anything for my visit and family. Well done, Langham, see you next year!

Their staff are professional and highly attentive and the rooms are spacious and have excellent amenities. We also enjoy the workout room, pool, and hot tub. The location is perfect for accessing Michigan Ave and the Chicago Theater as well. This hotel never disappoints.
- keptium (10/5): Wonderful. But please consider changing spa rules! - We do a mini-staycation yearly around the holidays and have been steadily making our way thru all the luxury hotels in Chicago. We are glad to have given Langham a chance. It was a wonderful stay with amazing service you rarely find in the states. It reminded me of the service and hospitality in Asians hotels. This was the first time my husband and I thought we might return back next year instead of trying a new place. I only have one issue which is the AGE LIMIT of the spa. The Langham attracts a well heeled, well traveled, sophisticated clientele and their family. My daughters were disappointed they could not use the sauna or steam room (especially on one of the coldest weekends in Chicago!) We were shocked to find out the age limit is 18! My daughters (like I'm sure most of the other guest's older children) are not inexperienced and have had spa treatments all over the world (Bali, Kenya, Singapore, Europe, China, etc) Most of the facilities allow 14-15 years old and up - if accompanied by an parent. I spoke with the manager to ask why. She was courteous but her only explanation was that there are woman in various state of undress. I assure you - kids have been changing into their gym clothes and swimsuits during physical education since middle school- they will be okay! Please consider lowering the age - especially if the minor is to be accompanied by their parent. Otherwise, it was an amazing stay and on par with the other luxury hotels in Chicago (FS, Ritz, Waldorf, Park Hyatt, etc.) The rooms were updated, views beautiful, staff who take pride in their work, and a central location.
