Guest Reviews
- Babalola (6/5): - The staff are very friendly, but the hotel is not property
- Kayode (10/5): - Good stay
- Uwem (6/5): Average service. - Only one towel in the bathroom. Terrible for $70 per night room. One bottle of water.
- Adefemi (2/5): Outright disappointment - For that price I expected more, the room is very old with worn out pillows and bed and bed linen, the bathroom is stained and the bedsheet smells that it wasn’t properly dry. For £67 I expected a lot more.
- Derek (8/5): Convenient place for the airport. - I've stayed here several occasions usually when I arrive in Lagos and need an early flight the next morning and again the night before I leave for home.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
It's a basic hotel and comfortable. You get what you pay for.
There seems to be plenty of choice for breakfast.
I'd continue to stay there when I visit Nigeria.
- TK Potencia (4/5): - Property needs serious remodeling and renovation. Entrance or reception area looks okay until you enter your room. Felt like i was in prison. Small room, no window, poorly lit, needs deep deep deep cleaning and complete change of fittings
- Nonyelim (10/5): Amazing Stay, Excellent Service, Tremendous Value! - The shuttle service from the airport was a very classy convenient touch. They were prompt and very easy!
The hotel was very clean, excellent WiFi and great amenities. The breakfast was great and so was the food in general.
Overall, it was a great lodging experience! Amazing value for money, and outstanding service!
- Xenopsylla (8/5): Enough for a night on the way to the airport. - The hotel is located near the airport Mohamed Murtala of Lagos, in the industrial district of Ikeja, not advisable to walk alone in its streets.
The hotel is well attended, bustling, local style food with international menus, swimming pool available and 24 hour electricity.
The staff is courteous, helpful with transportation to the airport and the price is reasonable. Only suggestion is to check the air conditioners on the fifth floor as they are too noisy.
Compared to other Ibys I have stayed at (Fez, Casablanca, Lima) this one in Lagos has a very African touch.
- timob450 (10/5): Nigeria Business Yrip - I had a wonderful stay at the hotel, and I want to express my gratitude for the professional staff, who were always ready to assist with any concerns I had.
However, I did notice some areas for improvement that concern me. It seemed that the management could do a better job of showing the respect and support that their employees truly deserve. Strong leadership is so important in fostering a positive work environment, and I believe they could benefit from enhancing their people management skills.
I also observed some customers behaving disrespectfully towards the staff. It was disheartening to see that management did not step in to address these situations. The employees handled it with grace, maintaining their professionalism despite being insulted, which speaks volumes about their character.
I want to commend the hardworking staff; they truly made my stay delightful, and it’s their dedication that will bring me back. Thank you all for the exceptional service during my visit.
- David (10/5): - Lovely environment
- mohammedalik2025 (10/5): Marcy Gives me attention before I even need it - I thoroughly appreciate the hospitality I received at the hotel most especially at the restaurant, Mercy ensures my needs are certified to the fullest while ensuring happiness, this hospitality experience is wonderful and highly appreciated,
- AndyA875 (2/5): Air con did not work and WiFi not reliableable - On the plus side the hotel is 10 minutes from the airport. The staff were very helpful.
On the negative side the room was too small. Ii felt very camped. The window in the room is very small. The air-condition did not provide cold air. There were insect or mosquitoes biting our feet and arms. The furniture looked very tired. The Television did not work and the IT person had to come and fix the TV. The WiFi was not reliable. The Internet page took about an hour to load.
- collinse705 (4/5): Bad Quality - I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The rooms are small and outdated, with several issues affecting my stay. The television in my room was not functional, and the sheets did not appear to be clean. Additionally, the power frequently went out, and the air conditioning was not effective – I woke up each night drenched in sweat due to hot air being blown into the room. The room also had a persistent mildew odor throughout my entire stay.
Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that fresh towels were not provided during my visit, and there were no towels available for washing either. Given the condition of the hotel, I found the pricing to be extremely high and not reflective of the quality offered. Unfortunately, I would not consider staying here again.
- Célio (6/5): - Average
- Firstsagba (4/5): Poor Customer Service - I love staying with Ibis Ikeja, Good Food, clean room, and hallelujah eventually changed the TVs. However, on my visit on 29th January 2025 before my last on 9th February. Not happy at all at your front office service. Five emails in two weeks, not a single response. mails to your parent company bounced back because it's full. I sincerely hope this is not a case of FRAUD otherwise you will hear the last of it between FCMB & HDV Ng t/a as Ibis.
- Oby (4/5): Lagos "Airport" Hotel - Needs a good clean
Needed somewhere to stay overnight as had a very early morning flight, only reason this hotel was booked.
Thought it was best to the airport than it actually is but still made my hight on time.
- Cynthia (2/5): - Expedia sold a premium room that did not exist. I want my money back and I am making a full complaint
- adebileke (8/5): Very Good - Very Good experience in terms service and food.
However, the check-in time of 2pm should be reviewed downwards since check out time remains 12 noon.
Also, the consumables in the room have reduced drastically compared to my previous visits and yet room rate has gone up.
- Chibundu (2/5): - This hotel is an absolute fraud. Booked because of airport pick up but couldn’t reach them via phone or email and no one contacted me. I was given a work out dirty towel. The facility is all round dirty. Stay away from this hotel if you can. Not worth the price at all!
- Ruth (6/5): - Poor lighting in hallway. Dingy towels but staff was friendly.
- Ajibola (10/5): Enjoyed my stay - Staff friendly and efficient
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was okay. Food was great and the staff were professional.
- Bulhameen (8/5): - Its has a good security system.
- Craig (8/5): - I enjoy the Ibis at Ikeja a lot. The staff is good and helpful. The only downsides are lack of towels and sometimes other bathroom amenities, also could use more potable water. Sometimes the breakfast line could be msintained better.
- Craig (10/5): - Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff was very accomodating.
- Vincent (8/5): - Its not bad...but they can do better.
- Omolara (6/5): - We stayed here earlier and had the king bedroom. This time around, it was only double room available and no other choice than to book what is available. I would have preferred the king's bedroom as they are more spacious and appears to be better maintained. Overall, the bathroom needs lot of updating as there are noticeble rust on the metals on bath door. We also experienced flooding in the bathroom, after complaining it was attended to promplty. The towels are aweful, they need changing. The location and security of this hotel is one of my biggest attraction. Staff generally are polite and helpful.
- 807remia (4/5): Poor Service Overall, Quite Disappointing! - I was unable to use my Accor ALL points towards payment of my stay. The reception staff claimed that it was not appearing on their system. That was rather disappointing as I had planned to use to then. So check-in was quite stressful. The room was not conducive and the mattress was uncomfortable. Staff were polite and friendly but unfortunately the entire hotel was fully booked so they were unable to change my room. Recurring power outage in the gym. Imagine working out in a high temperature with no form of cooling. Not even a fan in sight. I couldn't take advantage of my gold tier member benefit for a late check-out either. Apparently a manager's authorisation is required but unfortunately their was none available on duty, even until it was time for me to check out at 12 noon.
- Shaun (10/5): - Clean and close to everything /centralized location
- djalabi2 (8/5): Nice stay - I had read reviews about the property, so I did not know what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised.
The property was a 12-minute drive from the airport.
Damilola at the front desk was amazing and always had a smile on. She sorted out my check-in effortlessly. She's a star!!
Was given my welcome drink as a Silver Accor member. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. WiFi was strong. Enjoyed a light dinner, which was on time. The breakfast buffet did not have as much variety but was okay.
- 889isaiahu (10/5): Wonderful staff and overall upkeep - Of all the hotels I've stayed in Nigeria I've rarely seen such great attitudes. Damilola at reception in particular, is a gem. She has been friendly, positive, receptive and in my humble opinion deserving of increment. Elevates the brand.
- 690philipi (8/5): Great, neat, friendly but have a delayed refund policy - I find Ibis Ikeja a great home from
Home. Staffs like Mr Lekan, Mr Ramsey and other cleaning staff on the 5th floor made me feel at home . The only problem I have is your refund policy . I’m yet to get my refund from your organization and you need to work on it please.
In all I find these place a sweet place to stay and I recommend all travelers to come visit and you will not regret your stay.
- Sunil (8/5): - its safe
- Docvini (6/5): Worst Accor hotel on earth? - This is not paid review like most for this hotel. Hotel is in district where single men will be happy with cheap thrills if they want.
It's not even IBIS Europe standards, which are already global lowest.
Checkin desk staff only one guy I have found helpful a bit. Rest all girls too rude in talking.
It's may be accepted cultural thing in Nigeria that service staff sucks (talks too much loud) , is inefficient, and always sulking (because I have seen this in Marriot Ikeja and Radisson Victoria Island also) . But a cultural shock to someone from Asia.
Please do not stay in rooms facing pool as they have a lousy cheap night club, too loud, till 2am daily (no sane person can sleep).
Breakfast is 5/10, shabby minimal and not worthy to Even discuss about. With staff around looking at you with too tough eyes.
Room cleaning staff was good on 3rd floor. Laundry lady is smiling and prompt.
Overall, I have already requested my local team to find decent better place, given chance will not come back.
- 144balrajg (10/5): Safe, secure and Tasty food!! - Safe, secure, excellent food and good service. Although last 10 years Iam regular to this hotel. Comparatively it's improved a lot. The hotel staff is well mannered . Very good for seminars, meetings and stay. Even the chef can prepare your choice of food.
- 86obinnae (10/5): Fantastic experience. - Very fantastic service and management.
I will suggest they find a way to handle to the housekeeping guys though. They provided a personal account for a service that was supposed to be paid to the hotel. I found that quite sketchy.
But yeah, food is nice. Rooms are tidy.
- Michael (8/5): A decent basic hotel - The standard/quality of this Ibis hotel is below my experience in Europe. Overall. it does what it says on the tin - a decent place to sleep and wake up, that offers decent meals, and facilities including swimming pool and gym. The intercom in my room never worked for a second, and only one lift worked with my key. The staff were friendly and there were a very helpful few
- EagleEye360 (8/5): Very Decent Accomodation - I stayed overnight here on a business trip. The standard room is decent though small. The furniture and interior are designed to optimize the space. The food was not bad, and came on time too. The staff were professional in attending to requests. I recommend.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Needs urgent upgrade. Facility is outdated..
- Prosper (8/5): - Rooms are smaller than envisaged
- LET'S GO TRAVEL (10/5): - BAD WATER ROOM NEED RENOVATION
- Ajibola (10/5): - Good environment and great staffing
- Ajibola (8/5): - Great customer services, good food, and love location
- Antonia (6/5): - I like the property by it can use some upgrading in the room where I stayed. There were stains on the walls and the bathroom caulking and tiles needs immediate attention. The complimentary breakfast can be adjusted. Every day, it was the same breakfast. The staff was accommodating.
- Kenny (10/5): - Great
- Mubarak (2/5): - Check in was bad, many un necessary questions like who book for you? Why dudnt you book directly with us bla bla....No hot water in my room, and theres noise of vibration.
- PHILLIP A (10/5): Friendly and Helpful - Friendly and helpful front desk staff.
- OLADIMEJI (8/5): - Quiet just what was needed
- Marquieta (6/5): Just okay - This hotel has a great buffet. The rooms are too small. The bathroom looked dingy/old. Service is good.
- Omolara (6/5): - I love the fact they accept international credit card which is not a common thing in this environment and it does makes things easier. Overall, the facility needs lots of improvements especially on the bathrooms. The chef is awesome. Delivious meals but quite expensive.
- JOHNSON A O (10/5): - The rooms are smaller than similar standard rooms.
- Fabian (2/5): Horrible experience - This is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Online pictures are deceptive; my room was flooded with water from the bathroom. The staff careless about my situation. I’ll not recommend this hotel.
- Blake (8/5): - I did not see much because it was dark when I got there and I only stayed one night. Hotel is nice but I prefer the hotel ibis at the airport.
- Kagiso (2/5): Close the hotel - The only reason I give it 1 star is because there is no Zero or negative star.
It starts with poor communication to guests, then poor service. Its as if the staff dont want to be there. Breakfast is always at its lowest, with no variety.
- SYLVANUS (8/5): - Good meal and exciting staff
- Kamar (10/5): - The phone in the room was dirty and not working. There's no trash bin inside the room.
- Maxwell Owusu (2/5): - just poor
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ibis Hotel is worth every dollar - The staff , food , drinks , ambience , security and service were amazing .
- Nomad01819547914 (10/5): Excellent experience - Myself - RAJ KUMAR SAHU - PASSPORT U9231525 - IBIS IKEJA - Room 220 stay was cool and awesome, had an absolutely amazing time lodging at IBIS RED. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast - Dinner buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that their guests were comfortable. I can’t fault the place and will definitely go back.

- Adewale (6/5): - I stayed at the Hotel Ibis Ikeja for 7 days visiting family. On the plus side, the staff were generally helpful and friendly, and overall the hotel was clean. However, the fabric of the building was shabby and the facilities need updating. The towels were the most threadbare I have ever used, and the gym, while operational, was not well maintained. I know this is marketed as a budget hotel, but I have stayed at other Ibis hotels in the UK and elsewhere that are of a better standard.
- John (6/5): - Ibis is a value for money no thrills accommodation. The bed is comfortable and the shower is good with strong water flow. I would prefer a new towel though as the towel I got seemed like should be used to wash the floor with it is so thin and worn.
The gym is adequate for both weight and cardio training.
Bfast is ok but cheese is a no show. It is busy in the mornings so best to go early and avoid the queue.
- bretts11 (6/5): Easy drive from the airport is a convenient feature - Best feature of hotel is that it's close the airport. Rooms are small, but typical style of an Ibis chain. Room features generally worked well. The restaurant and bar is a bit more sloppy with taking orders incorrectly and rarely able to provide the correct change. The elevators don't work very well and there is no staircase. You will be tasked with both long waits and sometimes even the need to get out at a random floor and try transferring to the other one.
- Victoria (8/5): - The staff and customer service were excellent. The rate was good value for money. I recommend Ibis!
- netllama (6/5): ok, but not great - Overall, its fine. The absolute best feature is the icy cold room AC. The wifi was very flaky, dying several times/hour. The breakfast buffet was mediocre, with no variety, and roaches scurrying on the tables. Elevators were slow. Very little within walking distance of the hotel that would interest a tourist.
- Suleman (8/5): Ibis repeat - I gave 3 stars but there a lot to unpack here. I e stayed here twice now, I recognize it’s hard to run a hotel and I see they had some upgrade from previous years but the whole look inside could better. The employees are super nice and respectful. I like that the restaurant is opened 24/7 and the free breast fast is as always a nice. The Airport shuttle pick was excellent
- Patience (10/5): - Excellent
- Pierre (2/5): Worst hotel stay ever - Full of mould. Couldn’t breathe: checked out after the first night only because we checked in at 1am and couldn’t go anywhere else.
- Abimbolatof (8/5): Nice one - Hospitable and very decent place to lodge. Very friendly staff, good bar and restaurant. From check-in to check-out, it's stress free. It is located in the heart of ikeja with close proximity to the popular computer village. Well secured facility with ATM for cash withdrawal and other financial transactions
- SteveO-Oxford (8/5): Nice hotel - The staff were very helpful, the food was acceptable with a good variety. We found the bar a bit expensive as we asked for a glass of apple juice and were given the whole carton. When paying with credit cards the amount you’re paying doesn’t display on the POS device. I would have given 5 star if the shower was cleaned better, the edges and borders were not cleaned for a long time, though not a major issue, everything else in the room was clean. The manager was excellent. I would highly recommend.
- John (8/5): - Good location, good staff and services offered throughout my stay.
- taiwo (6/5): - On refrigerator
- Chris (6/5): Value for money with improvements required - Check in was good. Staff was courteous and easily located my detail since i booked online. Bathroom was in a bad state of repairs with sealants gone grey and requiring changing
- Michael (10/5): - Nice and clean place
- Ameyaw (10/5): - i was impressed with the hotel. nice location too
- Palthi (2/5): - I don't have good memories of my stay in this hotel. The rooms are not very clean, the building not very well maintained. But the worst thing is the staff at the reception desk and at the restaurant who don't have the attitude that their function requires. Terrible
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was ok
- Ifeanyi (6/5): - Excellent Customer Service and the hotel is clean
- Dipson (10/5): - Friendly and prompt service
- Idris (6/5): - The finishing in the shower didnt look professional and the Air condition vents were dirty. The carpets in the hall way needed replacing.
- Yoshinori (10/5): - Nice swimming pool and fitness gym.
Staffs are polite and well trained.
- Adejonwo (6/5): - The shower door handle needs to be replaced.
- Ishmael (8/5): - Good
- Oluwatoyin (6/5): - Airport shuttle
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Should coordinate to provide 2 towels when their are 2 people in the room.
- Modupe (6/5): - The food is terrible
We have to wait 2hrs for food
And the worst food you can imagine. It's not fair
Someone needs to taste the food
It's wickedness
- Jon (4/5): I'll rate it 50 out of 100. Average - It's all about money, money, money for the management of this hotel. Did not provided shuttle as expected and no credit was given. Requested extended checkout refused only 1 hour given in a please when there's no one waiting to occupied the room. Bathroom flooded had to move me 2 am to another room
- Jon (6/5): - The rooms were too small for the cost. Staff were friendly however advertising shuttle pickup from Airport is false. No shuttle is available. I was stranded at the Airport till 12:30 am until I found a ride. No adjustments was given. It's all about money, money and money. No courtesy
- Mahesh (4/5): not good - Rooms are too small, it stat and end, no space to keep the bags, we told that all the rooms are non smoking but we found fews other people were having smoke in room and even in lobby and we told hotel person but they didn't react or response, even in the restaurant some Indian foods was mention but when we order, simple get the reply sorry today we dont have it and same reply for 5 days.
- Marchanel (10/5): Lagos ibis - Amazeing with my girlfriend always will travel Lagos with her me and my girlfriend are on tour and travel Miami and derby today ma’am happy
- Tracey Louise (8/5): - Staff very accommodating and friendly. Pool are and gym very good. Varriery of food.spicey
- Eunice (2/5): - It was nothing like the picture online, the room very very small and the bed was a small size bed as against at least double. The staffs were very unprofessional and rude always requesting for money and refused to clean the room unless you pay them. The worst hotel ever in my entire life so far. When I complained about the size of the room, the manager wanted to bribe me with dinner which I was very upset with him, because I declined the bribery, he would not attend to me again instead he referred me to another inconsistent manager. It was terrible. Thanks
- OPEOLUWA (6/5): - It was an okay experience. My main issue was with the bathrooms. Very outdated and dirty and no amount of cleaning can fix it. The bathrooms need a complete overhaul.
- PM (10/5): - The staff is helpful.
- Charles (10/5): - This place made me feel so welcome, everyone was kind, courteous, and helpful. As a westerner (oyimbo) in a new country, I learned to curb my expectations a bit (like having an ATM that was always ready to dispense), but there were always workarounds for that. (Don’t visit Nigeria if you’re a spoiled brat!)
The room cleaning service was EXCELLENT. It was always such a pleasure to return to a nice, clean, cool room after a hot day’s adventure.
And the breakfast buffet!!! What a wonderful experience. American hotels can definitely learn from this place. Sometimes coffee would not be available, but that just made me explore other tasty beverages.
The guards at the gate were always cheerful and courteous, too. They always wished me a good morning or afternoon what felt like 100 times! I loved them for it.
I noticed that the bathroom sink wasn’t draining very well, and that the safe wasn’t powered. 15 minutes after calling, both were fixed.
The bed was fantastic! I slept very soundly. The foam layer was so comfortable!
Every one of the staff wore masks at all times, and hand sanitizer was plentiful and readily available.
The next time I’m in Ikeja, I am DEFINITELY staying here again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Sincerely,
Charlie (room 201)
PS: Sabina, I miss you! Thank you for always being a cheerful presence!
PPS: Bammie, thank you so much for helping me as well!
- Kamar (10/5): - The property provided ground transportation to and from both domestic and international airports.
- angela (8/5): - Our stay was good overall. We had issues with conditions with two of our rooms. We finally asked for a manager so we could be moved. She was very accomodating and resolved matters quickly.
- Abiodun (8/5): - Pleasant stay...extended by a day based on what was esrlier experienced
- Oluwatobi (6/5): - The hotel rooms are too small and the interior are out dated. The hotel staff are well train. but there were female escorts hanging inside the hotel lounge. On Dec 12th an escort was knocking at my door and asking me if i needed a company. Management needs to work on tightening security.
- Henry (6/5): - During my one day stay Nov 29, 2021. The toilet features were old and a section on the corridor of the 5th floor had no floor lights to get into my room.
Breakfast and airport shuttle were great.
Very expensive for the room amenities provided.
- FOLA (10/5): - Good management
