Value for the money is unbelievable. Basically, for the same price paid, one gets five-star facility and service at this place, but can only get two-star motels in the USA. The location is a bit far from the city center and major attractions. Though Subway is right at the premises, it's quite convenient to reach places.

- Sarah (10/5): A one of a kind stay in a luxurious hotel. - Cindy & Noemi communicated with us clearly in English to make sure we were comfortable & had everything we needed. They went above and beyond to make sure our trip was excellent. The property was spacious, clean, well organized, and well staffed. The carpets in the room could have been cleaner. The wifi was not good.

- Deborah (10/5): Beautiful stay - The staff were so lovely and accommodating. The food was next level and the hotel room was absolutely stunning. I booked last minute for a relaxing stay and it was above and beyond what u thought. Would highly recommend even if you are travelling on your own.

- singhawkeye (8/5): Great big hotel with resort like facilities - When I checked in for the 1st day, the room was not clean and tidy up properly. However, when I feedback to the front desk, the duty manger has done the damage control swifty and professionally. High praise for the manager Mr Yves Su. The lounge staffs provided good service. Especially the manager Cherry and her staff Max Shi. The only downside is it's time for renovations for the hotel as it's over 10 years old as can be seen from the aging of the furniture and the door. It's high time to replace the pillows as it stinks of sweat and mould.

The suite we stayed in was very big and very well done in a typical Interncontinental luxurious style. Decor is nice but falls short of functionaliy. The Intercontinental Hotel is unusual to the other ones I have stayed in. They could have focused on functionaliy a bit more. Other support services for international toursits is very poor. Great hotel for local tourists. Food, language, services and staff are not geared towards anyone who is not Chinese. Maybe not a good recommendation for international tourists. Its located in the "Global Center" when it should be called local center. Not value for the money we paid.

- Poul (8/5): First time in Chengdu and it was great! - I liked the fact that you could look at the whole indoor pool part from your balcony, unfortunately the park was being renovated while we were there so it was cold and not so nice to look at. The room was great and so was the staff. The breakfast was really nice and with a lot of options. The location was a bit too far from Chengdu center but we made that choice to stay in the big mall so not really something to blame the hotel for. It's just a taxi trip to the center so no big deal.
- anonymousa323 (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Beautiful hotel with chandeliers in the huge rooms. Pillows and bed were comfortable. Unfortunately there was no option for cooling, just heating and fan, so the room can be quite hot at night. Plenty of water is supplied. Minibar is free. The waterpark was under renovation at this time, however the heated pool was still open. We did not use it as even though it was indoors, the air was pretty cold. Breakfast had plenty of options and was located near the pool. Best to wear a warm jacket. MRT is conveniently located underground with the shopping centre. Overall a beautiful hotel.
- SuYuenC1 (10/5): Service above and beyond - We stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. Then we had to head to Jiuzhaigou for 4 days before coming back to stay for 1 night. The service staff, particularly Annie Huang, was amazing! She not only helped us arrange for the concierge to keep our luggage so we don't have to lug all our luggages to Jiuzhaigou, but also ensured it was already waiting in our new room on our return!

Staff are friendly and helpful. The carpet had some stains, the property could use some renovaton. All food and drinks are overpriced; The gym is an outdoor gym with no air conditioning & old equipment; The water park downstairs is way too noisy (10am-10pm).

Next time I come to xx to play, I will stay at this house haha. The location is easy to find, with many popular attractions and restaurants around. There's a small problem, it's really fast to handle! I must boast about my high efficiency and I am very satisfied!!!! Affordable price, enthusiastic and clean service.

- joolesr (6/5): Covid has not done International hotels any favours - Once again, this is a classical Chinese hotel under an international branding which seems to be a IHG theme these days. After a 10 hour train ride and fighting for a taxi at an extremely busy station we arrived at the Intercontinental - Global Centre. Retrieving our cases from the back of the taxi, a Valet pointed to the door and waved us off to fend for ourselves. So we entered lugging our two heavy suitcases. Once inside the largest footprint building in the world there was no obvious reception, Valets to assist, nor english signage, so we just started walking. With no idea where to go we wandered along an obvious pathway looking lost. We came upon the only English sign pointing up an escalator. Confused we asked a Valet walking past where reception was and he shrugged his shoulders and kept walking. As we went towards the escalator a Guest shook their head and pointed down the pathway. So we kept walking until we finally came to reception hidden around a corner in its own room. This started a stay of “very sorry, very sorry”. From the sauna bedrooms that you cannot sleep in because they are too hot, hard beds, smoking in all public areas (ashtrays provided) including meal areas, and the broken sound system that missed every few notes during meals made us feel a nuisance to the hotel. The hotel decor is excellent, lush, spotless and well-maintained. Overall the staff are lovely but will tell you anything to keep you happy and not follow through. Travelling on business we stay where we need to be, but post covid is showing me that price per night does not guarantee a good international hotel in China anymore. Knowing all this now, I would return just to stay in this amazing building but with my expectations lowered greatly and IF the price was right

This hotel is more for families than business with a huge indoor water park right inside the hotel area. They have plenty of things for kids to do but I would not say it’s really a business hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean .

- janajj19 (10/5): Excellent Hotel With Wonderful Service - We've stayed with Intercontinental hotels before and like to come back for the service and amenities! We celebrated our anniversary, and Jim on concierge team was so kind to explain all that Chengdu has to offer, plus arranged our airport transfer as well as upgraded our room to make our time special. Being in the same mall as the Paradise Island Waterpark + the mall itself gives you so many options for dining and activities, so location was perfect for us. We also left from Chengdu Airport + did a day trip from Chengdu South Railway - and both transportation hubs were within 20-30mins of the hotel.

The warmth of the staff and their commitment to excellent service is commendable. We had a family vacation at this hotel. Our entire family loved the stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the facilities and the great service. There is something for everyone. The children can play at the Water Park while the adults can relax at the pool side - all under one roof. The concierge team was very competent and made our sightseeing in Chengdu a memorable one. We were vegetarians and the F&B team went the extra mile to offer us suitable dishes throughout our stay. All in all, we wish to go there again to enjoy the experience. Great Team; Great Location; Excellent Property; Lot of entertainment options - under one roof

The hotel is located in the global center which is suppose to be the largest building in Asia and has water parks, amusement for kids, luxuries shops, mall, restaurants etc. my stay in the hotels C building was great. Larger than life is the experience you will have. It is pure luxurious feeling. Staff is excellent.

- BRN_CAR (8/5): Fancy hotel - Located in a shopping mall, including a waterpark and having a restaurant by the pool, is a very unlikely scenario for a downtown hotel. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is good and the service is up to an Intercontinental level. The lack of English knowledge here is existing, but less remarkable compared to other Chengdu hotels. Advice: book it and have fun!

Hair from previous guests were not cleaned in wet area. Power of my room was out. Took 45mins to fix and after 10 mims power went out again. Had a difficult time communicaring this since no one spoke english. So terrible never will come back. And the design is sooo old and spooky.
