I liked that it was spacious for a large party. The area leading to the apartment needs some renovations. If you take the apt there is no cleaning during your stay

- Luisa (7/5): - We booked 3 bedrooms, all of them were big and had big beds too. Rooms were clean. It doesn't have a bar or restaurant. Mattresses aren't very comfortable.
- Bogdan (3/5): Poor - Maybe the location. There are two buildings next to each other with the same name. We booked the nicer-looking one but were placed in the other (we were not aware of the second hotel at that time, we asked our tour guide about it), where the rooms were awful and there was mold on the walls. This feels like a tourist trap or scam. Be careful—this place is not serious, and I do not recommend it.

There was building work next door which would sometimes be distracting. Breakfast was underwhelming lots of choice but hot food was very dry and rubbery. WiFi was very hit and miss on 3rd floor.

I understand that there is limited space on the rooftop for a pool but it was not what I expected. Any more than 4 people would tax the limited resources. Unfortunately there was a construction crew working each day right outside my room. A bit noisy but at least they packed it in after dark.
- Steve (7/5): Good location but make sure you book a Deluxe room. - Location is good, a short walk or Grab ride from the Old Quarter. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was called "Superior". But this is apparently the worst of the rooms. It had no window. The staff were excellent and helped us to upgrade to a Deluxe room. Laundry was expensive.

Central neighborhood for Hanoi sights with lots of cafes, bars and restaurants. Excellent steam hotspot restaurant (Ha ha Steem) two blocks away. The terrace on the roof wasn’t open after breakfast and there was not enough seating around the small pool.

The hotel is on a busy street at the front and Hanoi traffic is crazy so if you are a light sleeper you may want some ear plugs. This is not the hotel’s problem but worth being aware of. Breakfast is nice and plentiful and was included in my booking.
- Dream688613 (2/5): Would not return - Terrible experience. Arrived to find a very old hotel with dirty rooms . Travelled as part of trip A Deal and majority of the 20 in our group requested to be moved as the hotel was below standard. Rooms were small , dirty with a lot of things requiring repairs ( ie broken taps , broken robes, broken AC. One Lift for 50 rooms , no group sitting area, Pool not at all welcoming , not one person used it. Breakfast was dismal and certainly only option for GF and DF was Fruit . Staff were not helpful or interested in assisting in any way. Only positive was the Great location . Our luggage for the day was kept in the foyer under a net which was the hotels secure luggage area. Our group of 20 were moved the following night to a better hotel .
- bhasky (6/5): 2 hotels - skylark boutique hotel and skylark hotel - which one do you get ? - This does not feel like a 4 star property since the rooms appear dated and some rooms are not airy and boxed in. There seem to be 2 properties : Skylark boutique hotel and Skylark Hotel. On the surface the Skylark hotel appears to be nicer but not sure since we got rooms in the other one but since I have not stayed at the other one not sure. I feel there should be some transparency on this from the hotel who are taking bookings under one brand name.

The staff were friendly. The breakfast was fine but we’ve had nicer elsewhere in our trip.

We organised our transfer (for a fixed fee) with them and they were very accomodating when our luggage failed to show up and we had to wait at the airport until it arrived on the next flight. The location was great and was great value for money. There was a lot of construction and the noise continued well into the night. The breakfast was appreciated but was pretty average in quality.

They gave us rooms with no windows, like a cell. No fridge no iron, nothing as advertised. No pool no balcony no restaurant, you have to go to a different skylark for pool n restaurant, which has way nicer rooms , but in order to get the rooms that are in photos u need to upgrade, an extra 30 can a night, for that money u can stay at the REY hotel. Staff were lovely, not their fault , management took no accountability for misleading both bookings. Def will not be back or recommend. Photos to come, everything is broken and old dirty. Go elsewhere

The city is great with reachable day trips to Ha Lo g Bay a - The hotel was in an amazing location, we had 5 nights in Hanoi which was really fun. The staff were very helpful and shared some tips of places to see and local places to eat and food to try. Our bathroom sliding door broke on the second night, my husband was stuck in the bathroom but the hotel did send a wonderful man to free him within minutes. We saw the funny side of it but I think my husband was relived to get out of the bathroom. They also had the door fixed within 30 minutes thank you for acting quickly.

Then on the day of checkput they tried to scam me and charge me more money. The pool and breakfast were not at the hotel it was at another hotel 2 doors down. Breakfast was mediocre at best and the pool area was so disgusting I couldn't use it. There was no fridge. The toilet didn't work right. This place was not at all what was advertised and such a disappointment.

But the room was a bit grotty; the cups by the sink still had toothpaste on from the last visitors, and the showerhead was covered in limescale. Our room faced the road so had a lot of noise from the traffic, but also the lights on the front of the building to light up the sign created quite a lot of light pollution in the room. We were also put in their second building, two or three buildings down from the hotel, so we had to go outside and back in the other building to get breakfast or visit the pool.

- O640IAannam (2/5): Outdated, bad service - Will not recommend. It’s old, a lot of construction next to the hotel, that kept us awake all night. We ate breakfast the first morning- a saturday and they told us 9.30 that they are closing eventhough it says 10 in the weekends. We bought breakfast outside the other days, because it seemed unhygienic and not tasteful. I only came one morning because my mum broke her arm and had to have medicin. I came 6.30 and were told to come 15 minutes after even though everything was ready ( they open 6.30) I came after 15 minutes and she were ready angry- just like our first day. I asked for an extra pillow for my mum since her arm were broken and they said no because everything was booked. I checked online- they had selvrealisering rooms for booking. When we were leaving for flight home 22 o’clock in the evening, they rented out the room same night. We found out because something went wrong with the tickets and we returned after calling them first to ask if it was ok. They didn’t know who we were when we came even though they had seen us before. They gave us the key and then we found out someone else stayed in the room. We got another, bad room and 7 in the morning they turned up childrens music for full blast. We couldn’t get any rest and had to change location untill 17 o’clock when we had 16 hours flight home. Will not recommend!

Breakfast until 9:30, but if you get there at 9 am, there is not too much food, the tea thermo was more water than tea, the coffee thermo was almost empty and when I asked for more coffee, the guy just filled it up with warn water and not hot water. The air conditioner didn’t work properly. We couldn’t turned on from our room, we had to go to the reception to ask to turned on, it worked for a few hours and it turned off in the middle of the night. We couldn’t sleep well that night, the noise out of the room and the hot of the room.

The location is good and within walking distance to the centre where the lake is. The staff is very good particularly Alva at the front desk. I was even able to WhatsApp back to the hotel for information while outside of the hotel. They also prepared a sandwich and fruit box for me take and other guests to take with us as we departed too early to have breakfast before leaving for the tour.

- Andrew (10/5): Skylark Hotel is the best place to stay in Hanoi Old Quarter - If you are staying in Hanoi for pleasure, then Skylark Hotel is the place to stay. You couldn't ask for a better location in the old quarter , shopping choices all around, tourist bus 5 minutes away, cruise pick up and practically everything happens around this hotel. Breakfast was excellent - good variety of continental and Asian cuisine. From the front office staff to the bell boys to the kitchen staff this is one of the best and friendly service I have ever seen. Front to back they have a gem of a team! I have compliments for Huy
