- Betty (10/5): - The young man working there was very helpful., with good customer service and prompt attention to our needs. The hallways were very clean. Carpets were clean and had no smoke or any other odors. It was a quiet place and had a decent Continental breakfast. The room was very spacious and clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay and this will be our regular hotel while in the area.

- Kristy (4/5): - Staff was nice, bed was comfy. But the breakfast left a lot to be desired. As well as the ice machine not working. It took at least 5 swipes every time to open the door to the room…. And sometimes it wouldn’t lock so we’d come back and be able to just push the door open. It’s a cheap stay, so that’s a plus. But you definitely get what you pay for.

- Chad (8/5): - Had to get door key cards rescanned every night. Room was pretty clean, no cups or ice. Had to unplug refrigerator in order to plug in the microwave. A simple plug strip would have worked. Continental breakfast? I mean I know this place is in a rundown town and not many people are using the hotel but that being said we could do better than cereal. Other than a couple of little things the place was ok at best. We have family in Galva and need a place to crash here and there for a couple of days so we will be back. Thanks Hotel 8

- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean & Comfortable, Breakfast Needs Improvement - Hotel and staff were excellent. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The only thing that could have been done much better was the morning breakfast and coffee. Selection was very limited (toast, jelly, cereal, milk, a couple of prepackaged sweet rolls was it) and it did not seem like the breakfast area was well attended to by the staff. Coffee went empty a lot and there just was not much to choose from.
- Lisa (10/5): Really Good Experience - This hotel is well maintained and clean. The staff were great. I locked my key card in the room, and the desk clerk was really kind about making a new. I was in the area during Hog Days in Kewanee, and this was the only hotel available. I was skeptical after a really awful experience at a Super 8 in Sioux City, IA. But the Super 8 in Galva is great! I have only good things to say.

The room was very outdated and there were crumbs on the floor and a dead bug on the lamp base. The beds and pillows were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced
- Tom (6/5): - Was a fine room for pretty cheap. However, the queen beds were definitely not actual queen size, the AC did not function well and was unusually noisy when it kicked on, and the door security latch was half broken off. Overall not a bad stay, just average

No breakfast, only pot of coffee, luke warm. No major networks on TV, no instructions in room. Trash stayed piled up outside for 2 plus days. Did enjoyed the veterian park spot.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Wish there was more than one hotel in the area... - The floor was dirty when I walked in. I could see things that could have definitely been vacuumed/mopped. It was late when I checked in and I just wanted to get to bed. Wi-fi was down and no continental breakfast was set. I forgot my toothpaste and they had no essential items behind the desk.

- Tracy (6/5): Cheap stay - Decent for a quick place to spend the night. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The lobby area is in need to updating and the complimentary breakfast was a joke. Two kids breakfast cereals, 4 slices of white bread, grape jelly, a carafe of orange juice in the mini fridge and a cold pot of coffee.

- Laura (2/5): - We have stayed here many times in the past although it has been since before Covid. The facilities condition has deteriorated immensely, the continental breakfast is almost non existent (most everything was old and/or stale), the provided shampoo/conditioner/lotion bottles had been opened and previously used, and the staff took a digital photo of my driver’s license. I understand verifying my identity but keeping a photo of it is a bit extreme especially living in the world we live in today.

- Tascha (4/5): Do not recommend staying - I booked 2 queen beds and got two full. Everything in the area was booked so had to take it. After that we could not get anyone to come to the desk to complaint and when we checked out, I was still billed for 2 queen beds. There were poorly patched seams on the ceiling like a small wall was removed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Backroads Stay - One night stay for the music fest. Great, close location to walk to the venue. Bed was clean and comfy but coffee pot had lots of grounds in it from a previous user. Morning coffee and water were both about luke warm. We weren't there when it opened but still over an hour before services ended. Staff was very pleasant and courteous. Overall, happy with the stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not good when fully booked - Rooms need more attention before check-in. Details were overlooked and led to multiple complaints and requests for different rooms. They didn't handle large groups very well. Reservations were cancelled with little to no notice.

It needed to be vacuumed better and the bedspread on one of the beds needed to be dry cleaned. There was no coffee in the breakfast area and three dried oranges. We ate elsewhere. There was no washclothes and the shampoo/lotion had been previously used. Very disappointing. We have stayed there before so were surprised about the conditions.

Had I not been awake, due to a cold, I probably would have slept through them, as I’m a sound sleeper. I had to leave early in the morning, and continental breakfast was set up and coffee ready to go at 6:00!! Very nice and eager to please staff!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very cleanly maintained. Staff prompt on service and I had no undue delays checking in despite arriving late in the night. Continental breakfast supposed to be served starting 6 a.m. but it was all set up and ready when I checked out at 5:30 a.m. One nice surprise is the size of the fridge in the room - though I did not need it, I was surprised a bigger 2.6 cu ft fridge was in the room vs the usual 1,7 cu ft ones I see in hotels/motels. I can imagine this would be useful for travelling fammilies. One small miss - no creamer or sugar for the coffee in the room. And the price of $77 per night that I paid is higher than I had expected for this level of a motel and for the geographic location. I had stayed in this hotel last year and I believe I paid $60 before.

Fruit and fruit juice along with milk and yogurt were also available. Not a heavy breakfast, and sufficient to start you on your day. It was quiet and peaceful except for a train that came through. Not enough noise to bother you. I plan to return when I return to the area.

- Charles (6/5): Lots of noisy trains!!! - I had first rated this place as quiet when I first got checked in. But then later we had a train come thru at 8pm 10 pm & 11pm. The next morning Sunday, another train came thru at 5am & 6 am. I checked out at 9am.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - Even though I asked for a room with two beds, I was given a 1-bed room. The hotel was almost empty, so surely a room with two beds was available. Part of the problem may have been a language barrier -- the woman doing check-in barely spoke English. The gentleman who later updated our room keys to allow for late check-out was very helpful. This is not the hotel's fault, but cellphone service was basically non-existent.
