It’s ambience
- Penny (10/5): Fabulous - Convenient and comfortable with helpful friendly staff. Food was fantastic and we had a great time.

- Halina (10/5): Fabulous stay at a really well positioned and interesting building, well run and a real treat. We were treated like king - Awesome, super friendly team at the hDv in Henley. Prime location in an old distillery in the heart of the town. Unique, spacious and luxurious room with roll top bath and walk in shower and our dogs were made as welcome as us! Nothing really - everything was fab
- Tourist44403425633 (8/5): Family wedding - Stayed for a family wedding. Very comfortable and staff excellent
- Robin (10/5): Room’s staff and food all excellent - The choice for breakfast was excellent
Nothing was to much trouble
10 out of 10 Nothing all was excellent
- Marielle (9/5): Een hotel om zeker terug te komen. - Vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid en het avond eten in de bistro is uitstekend.
- Anne (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay - Beautiful rooms in a superb location. Always a pleasure to stay here.
- katrina (10/5): -
- Anna (8/5): Beautiful service, so looked after but came away exhausted. - Location was amazing, parking and great staff. We had a great room, but sadly a constant humming throughout the night which meant sleep was not great. But, would not stop us coming back.
Lack of sleep had a big deal in the following day.
- lars (9/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): - Great friendly staff location perfect Nothing
- Peter (7/5): Lovely hotel. But room for improvement - The half hour extension at check-out was much appreciated.
The location of the hotel next to The Thames was excellent.
The breakfast was far superior to the dinner the previous night. For the dinner/breakfast package, there were far too many restrictions/supplements to make it a viable option.
My partner was very disappointed with her main course at dinner. She wanted fish and chips but got some fish with a fried egg on top. She was given a replacement but by then the damage had been done
- malcolmc95 (10/5): Excellent afternoon tea at a reasonable price. - Visited for a pre-Anniversary afternoon tea with Prosecco and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of savouries (not the usual mix of rather bland and uninteresting sandwiches) and pastries on offer. Very pleasant environment in a shady dining room and friendly helpful staff.
Particularly good value as we got a discounted price courtesy of Metro deals but would happily go again.
- Cruiser54471418115 (10/5): A amazing Stay - Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel du Vin Henley-on-Thames—the recent refurb has made it feel effortlessly chic, cosy, and a little bit indulgent.
The team were wonderful, but Sunni truly stole the show so warm, attentive, and always smiling. She has that rare way of making you feel completely looked after without even trying.
Honestly didn’t want to leave… already dreaming about my next stay ✨
- Thomas (10/5): - Central to the town and river. Friendly staff. Bed unbelievably comfy The stairs to the rooms were steep and lots of them
- Anders (6/5): -
- Pioneer23852581828 (10/5): Like a home from home… - Sunny and Izzy really made this a wonderful stay!
- Chris (9/5): -
- Roland (9/5): Superbra boende - Bra läge - fint rum
Utmärkt matsal
- Peter (7/5): comfy bed, nice and clean - great location but perhaps get reception staff to smile a bit! - clean - seems to be newly refurbished staff on reception could have been friendlier
- Peter (10/5): Excellent stay, wonderful location. Would definitely stay again. - Breakfast was excellent. Wonderful location, close to everything. Fabulous room and very comfortable bed. We loved the bath in the middle of the room, very romantic. Nothing
- helpersc (10/5): Sunny Star - I’ve stayed at Hotel du Vin Henley-on-Thames a few times now and it never disappoints. The recent refurbishment has really elevated the whole place it feels fresh, elegant, and beautifully done while still keeping its charm.
The rooms are always spotless, comfortable, and full of character. The location is perfect for a relaxing stay by the river. What really makes it special though is the team—warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive.
A special mention to Sunny on reception, who always remembers me and makes every stay feel personal and effortless. It’s those little touches that keep me coming back.
The reopening has clearly been a success, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
- Alison (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay. - Friendly staff and the hotel looked well maintained. Great position in the town. The twin room was a good size with a spacious bathroom. Quiet position and very comfortable. £15 to park in their car park took me by surprise.
- Rob (9/5): Centrally located and characterful hotel - Excellent central location, good sized and well decorated rooms, friendly service in the restaurant, secure parking onsite, recently fully renovated
- Suzanne (10/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): A stunning retreat. - Excellent hotel - quality of room, reception staff welcome and roll top bath. A hotel that made me feel very special. Parking is a little tight - however there’s great parking locally at the train station at a decent price. 5 minutes walk away,
- Alison (8/5): -
- John (9/5): Lush environment with lovely staff and great food. - Nice blend of the organisation of a big hotel with the charm and distinctiveness of a boutique hotel. Rooms are lovely and full of nice little touches. I'd particularly like to shout out the bar manager who was very helpful and knowledgeable about wines and gins. I perfect way to end a lovely day.

- eggybreadUk (8/5): We keep coming back! - Room was very good, spacious and comfortable…excellent idea re not using housekeeping in between, gets you a drink at the bar! Bathroom was a delight. Big walk in overhead shower with fabulous shiny metal shower tray, complete with a hand held one as well….bliss, and a separate roll top bath, big enough for two and taps conveniently placed in the middle. Gallons of hot water with a good pressure. My only gripe is the so say big bed which was two joined together….I know hotels etc do this and I understand why…but I would still like one big bed…They have managed to get the black out right in the window as well. Very pleasing.
Very good location, staff extremely helpful and friendly.
- Sue (8/5): We keep coming back! - Room was very good, spacious and comfortable…excellent idea re not using housekeeping in between gets you a drink at the bar! Bathroom was a delight. Big walk in shower and separate roll top bath. Gallons of hot water with a good pressure. The bed was 2 joined together…I know most places do it and I understand why…but I would still like one bed.
- Richard (8/5): A super, stylish (but not overhip) hotel in a great central location - Recently refurbished and once again very smart and stylish. Terrific central location, although parking will always be a potential challenge…extremely friendly, helpful staff. Only parking…
- Alec Glover (10/5): - Nice room
- Alan (8/5): A comfortable night in a lovely hotel - Hotel du Vin is in the perfect location for visiting the town or long walks along the Thames. It has just been refurbished and the decor is lovely. The only disadvantage is that there is not a lift, but the staff were very helpful taking luggage to our room on the 2nd floor.
- Kath (8/5): Staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant - Very good situation for the funeral we came to be part of Bed too soft for us but except this is personal preference
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Angela (8/5): A comfortable well priced stay in Henley - Location by the river. Interior styling and pricing. Room was full of character but lots of low ceilings meant we were ducking to not bang our heads.
- James (9/5): outstanding location. - beautiful room and great location. The suite with the large circular shower was so unusual.
- Mark (9/5): Highly recommended - Lovely boutique hotel style, great staff, restaurant very good… Nothing
- Susan (8/5): Good one night stay - Location. Nice staff.
- Alec Glover (8/5): Pleasant stay - Room was great. We had to wait for our room to be ready.
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful experience - Super comfortable
- Tina (8/5): - Excellent location although we found it difficult to find the carpark and didn't know we had to pay £15 on top of our rate. Maybe we didn't read it properly Extras we were unaware of. I think water with a meal and extras on service were a bit much . That said we loved the hotel and staff but made it more than we wanted to pay.
- Peter (7/5): - A debit £100 was added to my bank account in 20 seconds for any extras. Why should it take over 3 days for The hotel to credit my account with £72.00 of unused amount.
- Marcus (10/5): Ideal short stay. Great location, really nice breakfast, staff excellent - Very clean good decor good atmosphere very relaxed and chilled Good location staff great very professional
- Malcolm (10/5): -
- hillveiw (10/5): Short Break - We had an excellent stay at Hotel du Vin in Henley-on-Thames, visiting as a couple, with one of us requiring a wheelchair-accessible room. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, making it easy to relax and move around without difficulty.
The staff were consistently helpful and friendly throughout our stay, and a couple of small issues we encountered were dealt with promptly and efficiently, which we really appreciated.
The hotel itself is housed in a beautifully converted former brewery, and the tasteful conversion has preserved the character of this listed building while still offering modern comforts. It’s also easily accessible, which made a big difference for us.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable stay—we would happily return.
- MrPiggyMalone (8/5): Enjoyable stay in well located HDV - Stayed here recently over the Easter weekend for a night away. Henley was glorious and the location of the hotel is great - very close to the river and the town centre, which is full of lovely shops, restaurants/pubs and cafes. As usual with the HdV, the parking is a bit of an issue and to be charged £15 when you are a paying guest is not ideal. We arrived at 2.20 and hoped the room would be ready but we were told by the receptionist to come back after 3. Ok, fair enough and we came back later to try again. Our room was very spacious and had a free-standing bath looking out over the courtyard. The bathroom was also a great size. The bed and bedding were excellent also. We had drinks in the bar and then dinner on half-board in the bistro. All was fine and no issues although only 2 staff greeting/waiting tables in the bistro but it did seem fairly quiet. Breakfast the following morning was decent but maybe not as good as other HdVs that I have been to recently (Exeter & Cheltenham). They didn't have the usual very nice granola and also there was no butter put out, only small cartons of flora margarine. The bread could be a bit better I think too. One issue is that there was a lady doing a very loud video call whilst having breakfast in the middle of the restaurant. She unfortunately didn't care that she was being very rude and was disturbing other guests (several of us at other tables were exchanging disappointed glances). In these situations that are occurring more and more, I think it is up to the senior staff or restaurant manager to have a polite word with the guest in question and ask them to make the call elsewhere or at least reduce the volume, rather than spoiling the occasion for all of the other guests. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and whilst it perhaps isn't the best HdV based on this experience, I do think it is one of the best located.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Neil (8/5): -
- Tim (8/5): Perfect end to our wedding anniversary - Central location. Comfort of the room. Bath/shower arrangement not fit for the elderly.
Breakfast was a little uninspiring.
- Lade (9/5): -
- stefan (9/5): Would definitely recommend it and I’ll come back. - Very clean and good value Nothing. Really lovely bed
- Rachel (10/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- CHRISTOPHER (9/5): Very nice hotel and location - Good TV with BT for headphones, comfy bed but a little bit too soft for me... Great bathroom, coffee machine is a nice touch..excellent decor Slightly chlorination smell we couldn't source. Had to keep windows open
- Darren (8/5): Stayed one night, ticked all the boxes - Good room Nothing
- Ward (9/5): - Beautiful hotel in ideal location. Very quirky! The car park. It is very tight and difficult to park if you have anything other than a small to medium size car. Luckily a member of staff helped us to get out of the space.
- Simon (5/5): Sort out noise - Location Very noisy party people in courtyard kept us awake
- GEOFFREY (9/5): - Excellent location, comfortably appointed, very good bistro
- David (10/5): Fantastic hotel in Henley, very comfortable and great service - Excellent location for the town and river, pleased to have been able to access the hotels parking too.
Excellent bistro
Fantastic duplex room
Great staff Nothing, all excellent
- cleancutc2026 (10/5): Beautiful riverside town - Beautiful location in Henley on Thames, we went with our dog, Benson, who thoroughly enjoyed his stay if you’re looking for a dog vacation away from home in the uk this place is perfect. Atmosphere is peaceful through out most of the year except from when the boat races are on. Dog friendly dining in and out of the hotel, loads of fields to walk and loads of exciting sites to see and broaden your knowledge of England's rich and illustrious history. Thank you to all the staff for a comfortable stay and we would definitely recommend to a stranger or a friend and stay here again ourselves.
- Helen (9/5): Excellent refurb and v comfy! - Great location
- lisa (10/5): Brilliant hotel right in the centre of Henley - Room and bathroom absolutely beautiful. Staff on Reception were really helpful. Breakfast was lovely
- Amanda (10/5): Fabulous, quirky suites - Our river view suite was excellent, quite quirky with the bath and shower in the upstairs lounge area, and even a bath on the balcony 😀. Liked the different seating areas inside, and outside area great. Parking very tight spaces, and limited and £15 a night is a lot considering price of room. Breakfast also expensive, we didn't have it, so can't comment on quality. But rest of hotel was great, so I presume it would be good.
- millie (8/5): -
- Moffitt (10/5): -
- Gayle (10/5): Must stay - Stunning, with bags of character. Well decorated and comfortable. One of the best places I’ve stayed. Nothing.
- Georgie (9/5): -
- Christine (10/5): Excellent stay, lovely team, perfect hotel! - This is a superb hotel. The team is fantastic … one of the best hotel stays we have had in England. Will definitely come back.
Moreover it is ideal before a flight from Heathrow… Nothing
- Barry (10/5): -
- Claudia (9/5): -
- Q2769JLjamesb (10/5): Wonderful Saturday night - We had a lovely suite with the largest shower I’ve experienced and comfortable bed.
- Kieron (7/5): -
- Christina (9/5): Large, comfortable room with touches of luxury. - Great location. It was very good, but to be honest the coffee wasn’t great. Plenty of good cafes locally though.
- Roland (9/5): Comfortable and well appointed centrally located hotel - Well located hotel with large comfortable and well appointed room. There is also a car park which, although it can be a bit challenging to park in, is very convenient. Restaurant is excellent. An old coaching inn, you have to accept that there are a lot of steps and an uneven courtyard. Important to request a ground floor room as there are no lifts.
- joanna (10/5): Peaceful - Beautifully decorated, very comfy bed. Bathroom very spacious. Breakfast was lovely. Literally cannot find fault…..
- Amanda (10/5): Great night away - Beautiful rooms great location

- Amanda (8/5): A great stay for Henley, Room and bed very comfortable, huge baths, always super friendly staff - We have stayed several times, always thoroughly enjoyed our stay, service is very good, location great for walks to the River and into Town all only a few minutes away. Would always recommend. Dog friendly in some rooms too. Not so much what we didn't like, more it took the scoring from 5* to 4*. Sunday night; ran out of vegetables and Monday morning no Avocados on the breakfast menu. The food was tasty but a little overcooked, there were only 6 people in the restaurant, the price did not reflect the food delivered! The air-conditioning in the room was dry, felt it in the back of our mouths and throats, we tried a to change thermometer, it helped but not totally effective.
- Peter (9/5): Excellent location, lovely decor and very comfortable beds. - Beautiful rooms and decor throughout. No lift in this historic property but didn’t realise and our room was on the 2nd floor . This was a little difficult for us.
- Veronica (8/5): Great location, comfy room, but a few tweaks needed - Very comfortable room, with lovely linens and toiletries. Towels big and soft. Great location Car park was hard to find, breakfast didn't start till 8am on a Saturday, pillows were a little thin
- Lambert (8/5): Excellent - We had another lovely stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is gorgeous and our room was 1st class. Only problem we had was getting access to the hotel car park. We rang the day before and were told we should be able to get access to the car park at 12 noon. We arrived to find the car park was full. We couldn't get access until between 3 and 4pm because there was a meeting and guests were leaving late. This meant we had to pay for outside parking firstly in the street and then in a car park near the river. It did ruin our 1st day as we had to hang around. Once booked in all was good for the rest of iur stay. The room was really nice and the staff were lovely.

- straz85 (10/5): Loved it - Another lovely stay at Hotel du Vin Henley-on-Thames. This was our second visit and the hospitality was just as wonderful as the first time. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished while still keeping its charm and character. The beds are incredibly comfortable honestly didn’t feel like leaving in the morning. Parking is still a little tight, but that’s expected in Henley and it’s great that the hotel offers parking at all, which isn’t always easy to find in town. Sunnie on reception is so kind and welcoming and always makes the stay feel extra special. If you’re visiting Henley and want somewhere full of character with warm service, this is a great place to stay. We’ll definitely be back again.
- Juhi (10/5): - Loved the staff and location. Room was great and good value
- PETER (7/5): Nice hotel but don't arrive with a car. - Very nice rooms which had all been recently decorated. Rooms at the rear of the hotel are very quiet so no chance of disturbed sleep. There is an impossibly small underground car park. Only room for about a dozen cars at a push, and entry to it is almost impossible for anything much bigger than a mini. We tried in our average sized family car and gave up. So we ended up having to park in the boat museum car park, approx half a mile away, overnight.
Also, very disappointed that the bar shut just five minutes after 11pm. I would have expected better from a hotel such as this.
- Pioneer63154578607 (10/5): Great place to stay - Thank you for a lovely stay at the Hotel Du Vin in Henley. We were made welcome by the very professional staff. Everything is very convenient and central. We were able to park onsite and enjoyed some lovely walks along the river bank which is nearby. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by the staff who were wonderful to us and our Labrador Dog. The food in the restaurant was excellent. A special mention for Elisabeta and Joyce.
