It did not work for me. I arrived after staff were in bed. Good idea to have the emergency number ( 802 375 3035 ) - not only the main front desk line- if you will arrive after desk hours are shut.

The lounge looked comfortable, but we didn’t use it. We thought they served breakfast but they don’t—but the staff recommended a place we really enjoyed. There was no elevator, which was hard for my husband, who uses a cane. And we didn’t realize that so didn’t request the ground floor, so he had to navigate stairs.

- Tihomir (9/5): A return visit that fully met my expectation - I had one excellent dinner in their restaurant the evening I arrived at the Lodge. The electronic access to the room via the phone app did not work, so I had to get a key card from the owner, but that is a very minor issue.

We took a late afternoon walk up the road to the ski lodge, and really enjoyed the gorgeous view of Magic Mountain. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. She also did the job of bartender when we stopped in after dinner for a drink - and again - she was very kind. The main room downstairs had a cozy fire and we enjoyed hanging out there for a bit. Free wifi was also greatly appreciated. The facilities themselves were clean enough, but pretty worn around the edges. We had a room right over the kitchen area and it was fairly noisy. The shower door didn't close properly, and the mini-split heating unit took a very long time to come on. The bed was adequate, but not super-comfortable. The room lacked features that might have made the stay a bit more convenient - like a night stand on both sides of the bed, or a soap holder in the bathroom.

- Tom (8/5): - Pros: Friendly staff, beautiful location and grounds, great price, very roomy suites, very pet friendly with low pet fees. Vince and staff's hospitality are a huge plus! Cons: No minifridge or microwave in rooms, no air conditioning in the fall (room was warm on arrival in late September and no air conditioning or fan was available in room). Opening windows helped eventually, but then I had to listen to a construction worker talking loudly at his car directly outside my window for over an hour in the late afternoon. Only option for peace and quiet was to close the windows and endure the heat. Food options are also limited here, with no breakfast available onsite, although some snack bars and coffee were provided, which were appreciated! Dinner at the Red Slate was good, but breakfast and lunch options in the Londonderry area are limited. One minor pet peeve: I realize this is a rural area, possibly with scavenging bears/raccoons nearby, but some sort of disposal container for pet waste would be appreciated. I spend an unnecessary amount of time trying to find someplace to dispose of my dog waste bag at night. The next day I was finally able to learn out how to open the dumpster in the back to dispose of my dogs' waste. Not only that, even inside the lodge there is nowhere I found to dispose of room garbage, unless I missed it.

- Darlene (6/5): I'm not sure why this place has great reviews... - The lady who helped us check in was great! I never was able to check in or make the app work. It didn't bother me at all, but there are only steep stairs, no elevator, so people with mobility issues might have a problem. My elderly mom did it, but it was challenging. I'm still getting used to travel with mobility concerns, so this was my planning issue, not the hotels problem, just giving others a heads up. The room was stark and outdated which made it feel shabby and not so clean. The carpeting was gross and there were stains and marks all over the walls in in the bathroom and mildew in the bathroom over the shower. The ac did not work, luckily the windows opened for some air flow. There was an old tube tv which we got a kick out of. I'm not a fussy person, but I was really disappointed in the room.

- VALERIE (3/5): A éviter : Motel défraichi et après 20h Check-in avec application Openkey défectueuse ! - Emplacement au calme. Ce motel accepte les animaux d'où des nuisances (odeurs dans les chambres et aboiements le soir). Les chambres sont défraichies, les moquettes n'inspirent pas confiance, elles sont tâchées : une rénovation serait à envisager. Ce motel prévoit une arrivée tardive après 20h avec un système de clé via l'application Openkey. Ce serait parfait si ce moyen fonctionne, malheureusement ce ne fût pas le cas, après de nombreux échanges et tentavive pendant 24h! En résumé nous avons dû nous organiser avec difficultés pour arriver avant 20h car nous avions une visite de mansions à Newport avec un horaire fixe. Le motel vous adresse un message 2j avant pour installer Open key et l'annulation de la chambre n'est alors plus possible. Si cela avait été possible, nous aurions annulé la réservation.

Would have left and drove home but about 4 hrs away and had tired kids. And last room. The house keeper could have left a/c on knowing room was rented. Just staying 1 night and thats to much.

They didnot mention the standalone cooling unit in the wardrobe area... The pool was green-ish and very cold. In a pinch it's fine but I would not choose to visit again

- Meghan (4/5): - I don't usually leave reviews but I do feel it's good feedback to say the rooms are in need of an update. The beds were rock solid, the pillows were too large to be comfortable. I'm kind of shocked no one else has mentioned this in reviews. It was the worst sleep I've had at a hotel which was frustrating after a full day of driving. When I walked in it smelled strange and chemically, at least I knew it was clean but a bit overwhelming. Weirdly, the shower had no soap bar holder so it was a bit inconvenient to shower. On the good side, the restaurant was nice and convenient to have. The restaurant staff were very nice and were a highlight to this hotel. They were sweet people to talk to. The lobby area was nice to hang out in as well. I was here during summer in June, so less people around in general. There is not much around in terms of food.

- Kim (6/5): - The only problem was the quite non-transparent after-hours check-in procedure. The first time I was sent the link to the OpenKey app, my phone number hadn't even been put into the system, so OpenKey couldn't find my reservation. Then when I was sent a check-in message again (on the day of my reservation), there wasn't enough information about the OpenKey check-in process. I tried to use OpenKey on my phone on the outside door of my room, and it didn't work. Lucky that I thought to try OpenKey on the front desk entrance! But then OpenKey didn't work on my hallway room door either. Lucky that my roommate thought to look behind the front desk and found a key card envelope left for us! None of this crucial information was provided in any of the check-in messages or via the OpenKey app. Other than the rather alarming check-in confusion late at night with no human contact or back-up check-in support, the stay was just fine. The room was quiet, comfortable and well maintained. But on leaving the next morning, we had to track down someone in the attached restaurant to confirm that we couldn't lock either of the room doors on departure, and had to drop our room key cards into an unsecured box. So anybody could have just walked into our room after we'd left, and by default we might be held responsible for any damage they did? Not reassuring! Re-think the room access and security issues to be a bit more user-friendly, and I'll be happy to visit again.

- Jess (4/5): Just don't - The place smelled disgusting. Just walking in the front door, it smelled like urine and mildew. My room smelled so mildewy I had to sleep with the window open. It was obvious by the ceiling dust on the toilet paper holder and shampoo bottles, that the room hadn't been used in a while. The whole place needs to have the carpets removed and have a serious overhaul. So, so bad.
- Cyndi (4/5): Very outdated - The drive up there The area is really run down, across the street there is a run down motel which was for sale. I understand the room was not expensive and all amenities were there but is is just so old and really requires a refreshment. The bed was not comfortable and the carpet and curtains seem to be dirty. Enough towels, AC, coffee maker, snack, heater, tv. Everything is there but is is really outdated As it was a secluded and run down area we were not comfortable with leaving the window open. Luckily there was an aircontioning. It may be clean but it comes across dirty as it is really old.
- Angela (8/5): - The staff was super friendly. I forgot my phone charger and was hoping to plug in a USB cord, but there wasn't an option for that. The room is dated, floor was uneven in spots. The shower was INCREDIBLE!! Overall, my stay was pleasant.

- Nathan (8/5): Very good - I liked that there was a restaurant on site. The staff were great. The lodge was a little older but I liked the charm that it provided. I would have liked there to be a microwave in the room or in the lobby. They said they were planning on getting one soon. Great place and great value.

- Deborah (4/5): - We were traveling to Vermont for the first time for a girl's trip and to the Vermont Country Store and to celebrate a birthday. Found this hotel at Magic Mountain and by the looks of the pictures online as well as the distance to the store, decided on this venue for the first part of our trip. Couldn't wait to leave and did so first thing the next morning. The rooms are very old and don't smell good. Bathroom and shower were dirty, rug was so dirty in the room that my socks were gross from walking on them. There was no refrigerator, no microwave. Heating was antique and pipes pounded ALL night long, were didn't get much sleep. There was so much snow and solid ice between our car and the door that it was dangerous to even walk. Our door didn't lock, hotel staff had to show us how to lift the door up from the floor to get it to even close. We were told restaurant and bar opened at 5. We went down about 5:30 or so, sat at a table, and were asked to leave because we didn't have a reservation. Mind you, only two tables were occupied! No one told us we needed reservations. So we went to put our name on the list and there was an hour and a half wait! We left without dinner. This property is certainly not a $300 per night stay, it is way over priced and way over rated. I would not recommend at all. At 7am, we were packed back up and got out of there.
- Dante (10/5): - Perfect for winter vacation. Just walk at the ski lift, parking is free just infront. A lot of good restaurant nearby. Friendly staff. It’s our second time here and would go back again.
- Thomas (10/5): Ski weekends with the occasional snow shoe ventures. - Location to Magic Mountain and other ski areas. No frills old school ski lodge with nice lounge area and bar. Fireplace in den area is nice. Restaurant onsite is good. Just be sure to make reservations. It’s a slower pace all the way around. If you want fast pace, then this is not the place for you.

- Prudence (8/5): - We loved the Upper Pass Lodge! It is the perfect place to stay when skiing Magic and we loved the low key, old school, family friendly vibe. The lounge area with a huge fireplace and lots of games and big couches was so inviting and relaxing. We had a blast and loved the food at the restaurant too. Staffing was quite low and often difficult to find (I guess there are set times when they are there), but when we did see someone at the desk etc they were wonderful and so kind and helpful! No fridge in the room but we just used our cooler and kept ice packs in our car which was always accessible. Random suggestion- hooks needed in the bathroom for towels!:)

- Carolyn (7/5): Suitable for a short stay over - Had a quaint feel, felt cozy when you walked in. The bar was serving only VT spirits which is great. Chicken wings were amazing. Friendly crowd. Could use a touch up of paint and the top bunk did not have a safety rail in the bunk room. Also damage in the room was not repaired. Tube TV from the dark ages. The stairs up to the room were difficult with luggage, and no elevator.
- Danielle (6/5): Stay somewhere else and come to the restaurant - The hotel is very old and the rooms are not well maintained and very shabby. Hot water in the shower went on and off. The only good thing is the cozy restaurant/bar and shared space.
- Maria (9/5): Overall, fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay here--comfy, cozy feel to the whole place. - The location was amazing--across the street from Magic Mountain. It is nice to have a restaurant on premises. Our room and a half was spacious, with two full-size beds separated with a door from a queen-size bed in a room that also had a sink. It would be nice if the room with a sink and a queen-size bed also had a toilet. Also, the door between the two rooms needs some WD-40 to stop it from squeaking as it opens and closes.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place for family ski trip with a dog - This is a dog friendly place so a good place for family trip with a dog. Easy to access from parking to a room using a door facing to parking so we can load and unload staffs. Having a nice restaurant for dinner but need to make a reservation in advance. Foods are good and not overpriced.
