Guest Reviews
- Alan (6/5): - Windows not double glazed so could hear very noisy street traffic, emergency sirens etc. Also Friday and Saturday Nights there was disco or karaoke in the pub which I could hear very loudly. Despite being extremely tired each day these matters affected me getting off to sleep. Lady who I registered in with was extremely helpful. Overall the property needs some investment .
- Keith (4/5): - .
was dirty, sash windw single glazed , rattled all night.
Saturday night disco loud and continued until 11.30 .
Crowd outside the globe shouting until beyond midnight , right outside the bedroom window
One landing toilet and landing shower for 3 rooms, light in toilet failed and toilet paper ran out.
All in all not a pleasant place to stay.
- Stephen (10/5): - Clean room clean bedding very nice staff and lovely location
- John (10/5): Good stay - Nice and clean comfy bed
- Richard (6/5): - My visit clashed with Saturday night karaoke, so noisy until midnight. However, the price was a bargain....so this balanced out the inconvenience.
Was the amazing price a reflection of the noise that would accompany the evening of my stay. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room clean, bed comfortable
- Kathleen (4/5): No sleep - Traffic Noise outside was never ending 24hours and so very loud. The fire exit light in room was illuminated all night might as well of left the lights on. Bed was lumpy and creaky. Tv non existent as no signal and so small shoved on chest of drawers instead of on wall. Room never cleaned or rubbish removed, stayed 3 nights. No where to hang wet towel in room. The light pull strings are very dirty there’s not a lot of care and maintenance the paint peeling off the shower mat disgusting
- Robert (6/5): - The location was ok some nice shops and restaurants. The room was BASIC, no where to hang wet towel, TV was tiny and didn’t work, the room was never cleaned no tea coffee refresh rubbish was never collected. The bed was squeaky and lumpy but the worst thing was the noise from the road outside it was horrendous and 24 hour’s, the traffic lights were right outside our window and farm traffic, trucks etc were banging and clattering 😫
- Geoff (8/5): - Its a nice oldy worldy pub good friendly people
- Verified traveler (2/5): Beyond Basic - The The Globe Inn was bed only no food. Shared toilet only. Very very noisy with tipper lorrys rumbling lorries. Rumling pasted all night long.
Although it was only £50 per night we just could not stand another sleepless night so lefted early the next morning.
We could not say no star only one star.
- Martin Duxbury (8/5): - Basic cheap clean room above a pub. Great location. Nice staff. Near bus stop for coastliner to Scarborough
- Claudio (10/5): - Very basic, but central and close to where I wanted be to in Malton.
- JING (10/5): - Good to stay 2 nights
- Joanne Alice (10/5): Second stay at this haunted pub - One of my favourite places to stay that possibly has a ghost !
Five minutes walk from the bs and train station and the beer is kept just right
Large rooms at a reasonable price, but could do with a portable fan for hot weather and the bedside lamps in room 1 did not work
Lively Karaoke on a Friday evening and room I was given I could people watch .
Pice it can’t be beaten and I’d rate it 9 out of 10 as the hallway toilet could do with redecorating
- Paul (8/5): - Hotel section is a bit dated and toilet/shower areas could do with a refurb but generally everything was ok. For what we wanted it was more than adequate.
- Stuart (10/5): Night out in Malton - Stayed at The New Globe May 21st due to work lads night out.
Good value for money, comfy bed tea & coffee.
Would definitely stay again
- PHILIP (8/5): Most satisfied - Hotel was ok for a night or two clean for price you pay well worth the money bed linen fresh and clean
- Christopher (10/5): - Friendly and clean
- Graham (8/5): Good sort stay - Good location. Nice pub and made welcome
- Colin (10/5): - Friendly good atmosphere will stay again spuggy thanks
- D (8/5): Saturday night away - We've stayed here before the pub is in the town center with free parking. Rooms are dated but clean, double usb sockets on bedside lamp (nice touch). Staff are polite and friendly. Nice cheap accommodation in the heart of malton. Busy karaoke bar but not too noisy in the room. Will stay again.
- Colin (8/5): - It is near all the amenities shops, restaurants, bars
- Paul (8/5): New Globe, Malton - The place was cheap and cheerful, wasn’t en suite, but wasn't a problem. Was near to Malton railway station, so handy for train.
At price charged, you couldn't really expect any more. I was happy 😊
- Philip (8/5): - Nice central location with free parking. Good price, comfortable room.
- Marc (6/5): - Its was convenient for what I had to do
- Rodney (10/5): - It is what it claimed to be, and we enjoyed our stay. The owner/proprietors are friendly and we enjoyed our chat with them. There are excellent restaurants for tea and dinner within a short walking distance. The pub is very welcoming, as well.
- Derek (8/5): - Good enough for a few nights stay whilst visiting NYMR Autumn Steam Gala.
Room could have done with a chair.
- Sanda (10/5): - I liked the room. Parking was easy. Host was friendlyDid not know it was over a bar until I arrived, so it was noisy until after midnight. I just wish I was aware of this possibility when I booked
- Joanne Alice (10/5): Nice host in Paul, nice room and easy to check out - Paul and his staff of this lovely 18 th Century pub are really nice and welcoming.
After a busy weekend with Glasgow and Leeds LGBTQl+ pride events I decided to stagger my journey back to a not nice place where I currently live.
Great room which was massive and I was served a lovely wainwright ale followed by Guinness.
Only negative is the WiFi in the room did not work but found the room easy to check out at 06-15 am in the morning to get the 843 bus to Scarborough at 06-45 at the nearby Malton bus station
Everything was immaculately clean including the shared toilet and shower and at the price charged the room was a bargain
I would stay again as the accommodation is friendly towards Non binary and lgbt people and is also a great live music venue
- Mark (10/5): - It has free parking and is in a good position in the centre of Malton. It is very good value for money and I will stay there again
- Neil (10/5): - Excellent stay, excellent staff, would definitely stay there again!!
- Timara (2/5): - The first night I stayed it was so loud I only got about 2.5 hours sleep.
- Cindy (10/5): Cindy Pinkham - I enjoyed being there staff were so friendly, even the locals, weather was nice food was lovely easy to get to places
- David (8/5): Good value for money overnight stay. - The room is basic, but clean, warm and comfortable. Single glazed windows don't keep much of the road noise out but, had it not been for karaoke (which I was warned about and finished at a sensible time) I wouldn't have heard the pub. For the price, certainly can't grumble. Only main gripe was the fire exit sign, which I'm sure is far brighter than it needs to be. Bring shower gel!
- Daniel (6/5): - Budget accommodation in a central location with free parking. Expect noise from the pub and external traffic but the room was adequate and fairly priced.
- dale (8/5): - All was good & would stay again.
- jeremy (10/5): - Very friendly staff and customers. Karaoke nights loads of fun. Malton has lots of things to do.
- Derek (8/5): Short stay - Fair stay for a short visit. Mostly OK.
Room could do with a chair, and also servicing of the room to top up the tea/milk etc...
Was quite noisy in the evenings due to music in the pub area.
- Tom (10/5): - Very friendly and welcoming very highly recommende
- Dionne (10/5): - Nice and clean staff very friendly lovely area
- Neo (8/5): - Better than expected, just that it is on the high street so can be noisy
- Trevor (10/5): Weekend visit. - Excellent. Staff were helpful. Good pub downstairs.
I'm celiac, so I catered for myself.
Suited my needs, very well.
- john (2/5): - no twin beds told to share the one found a different accommodation
- Daniel (10/5): - Absolutely spot on. Done us a good turn on short notice. Affordable and would stay again.
- Nicola (10/5): - Lovely little room. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Everything was there that was needed. Sraff friendly
- Sebastian (10/5): Fantastic value for money - Clean and pleasant, excellent value for money, friendly staff and a good location.
- Shirley (10/5): I would stay again! - I really enjoyed the stay. I knew I was booking above a pub and the owner let me know there was karaoke by a particular time and that was fine with me, as the noise was minimal.
It was just looking for, cheap and cheerful!
I was a woman on my own and unsure how it would be...
...I had nothing to worry about. Malton is a lovely place and the owner was really polite and friendly, would definitely stay again, thank you ;)

- William (10/5): - Good Service
- William (10/5): - Good service
- William (10/5): - Amazing
- Simon (6/5): - The room was very hot, smelly and noisy, the latter being expected because of location. You get what you pay for.
- miss j (8/5): saturday night stay - nice comfy warm room, property very well located in malton right in the middle of the main street, staff very helpful,
- Sherry (8/5): Staff were very friendly and accommodating. - Stayed for a trip to the Proms at Castle Howard

Didnt get the names of the people working there but very friendly and any questions we had they was there to answer
The room was spacious and even got a hot chocolate
The beds was comfy and clean couldnt fault the place at all and will be back
- Richard (6/5): Good location - Room was very basis and did not have a toilet. Beds are a bit old and not very comfortable. Emergency exit sign in green lit up all night within room. Window cleaners at 7.30am woke us up. Noisy traffic as single glazing only. I suppose for the price paid ok
- Verified traveler (8/5): Budget friendly room above nice friendly pub. - Nice little place. Serves its purpose well as a nice budget room. Friendly people, nice pub below. Comfy bed was a nice bonus. All in all I would stay again and was pleased.
- Robin (8/5): Another satisfying stay - The usual convenient stay. No major problems.
- Robin (8/5): Another satisfactory stay. - The usual stay. No frills or spills. Basic, but it does the job.
- Robin (10/5): Gorbys travels - Another satisfying stay at The New Globe

- Robin (8/5): Another enjoyable stay. - Accommodation met my expectations
- Sammuel (8/5): A stay at the Globe - It was just a place nothing to write home about
- Angela (10/5): would stay again - great place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Made you welcome ,clean all you need
- phil (2/5): - i found I had been bitten by bed bugs in the morning after I stayed there which i found pretty disgusting
- Stuart (6/5): - great old town centre pub
room was adequate, served our needs for the night, bed, shower and despite live music till midnight, a good nights sleep !
- Alan (6/5): - It was ok but having to go outside the room for toilet and shower took the edge off it
- Kirsty (8/5): Basic but clean and friendly - We stayed here for a wedding for 2 nights, the staff was lovely and the place was clean and basic it was ideal for what we wanted which was a place to shower change and sleep. Even though we shared a shower and toilet they were very clean and the shower was lovely. Even though breakfast was supposed to be included they no longer do breakfast but there is cafe's all around it. I would stay here again
- Verified traveler (6/5): One night - Paul who met us was lovely
No lock on share toilet
not sure that the bed sheets were clean as very creased as if someone had slept in it
Breakfast was ok except for the lady vacuuming the pub floor from the karaoke the night before
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The toast for breakfast had mould on it and after proving I had already paid I was then given a phone call saying I hadn’t paid and was spoke to very rudely
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place would stay again breakfast was spot on, only - is that the toilet that was shared didn’t lock but that was all
- Linda (10/5): Good Location - Good location, friendly bar staff. Rooms basic but worth the money.
- Colin (6/5): Cheap-n-cheerful - Very old basic hotel.
For the price I didn’t expect much (and it was right not to have !)
