Guest Reviews
- Fraser (5/5): Alright for an over night stop - Wasnt the most comfy but we literally slept there after a match. Great locatuon for the train station. Basic.
- kelly (10/5): -
- Angela (8/5): Staff friendly. Very clean - Clean and perfect location No kettle in room
- Elena (4/5): - ubicacion breakfast, the room, the bed
- Leejomin (6/5): Hotel overnight for Cruise the following day - The room was clean and ready for the time of arrival, The breakfast was plentiful and continental style having to pay for car parking on top of the hotel fee
- Charleen (1/5): Total waste of money, would not recommend anyone staying here - Nothing other than the location The fact that it was filthy, shit in the bathrooms everywhere including a turd in the loo, mouldy dirty towels, leaking sink that flooded the bedroom and really uncomfortable beds and pillows. On top of that the hotel refuses to be held accountable for this and refuses to refund a horrendous stay
- Sally (4/5): Budget in everything except the price - Location. Bed OK, sheets and towels good. Clean. Shower cubicle actually in room rather than separate bathroom although room designed for 3. Bunk bed over double (which you bang your head on if reaching for something on bedside table). '24 hr reception' did not answer the phone when I wanted to find out how to make the room warmer as it was freezing, so went downstairs. Nobody there, but a kind man housed in the hotel by the council told me how to adjust the heating - and then told me it wasn't turned on anyway. Furniture chipped and in poor condition.
- Ben (10/5): - Easy check in, friendly guy and super efficient.
I stayed for work purposes, had a job from the docks early in the morning. The hotels location was perfect for my needs.
Basic facilities but if you want luxury the other ibis is opposite, dont understand the comments where people are complaining but have booked budget ?? Renting a kettle
- Chelsea (5/5): -
- Ann (8/5): - Nice room for the money No Kettle in room
- Joshua (1/5): -
- Benji (8/5): -
- Pete (6/5): -
- Antonio (5/5): - La ubicación del hotel. El tamaño de la habitación, muy pequeña para tres adultos y la calefacción mal, no funcionaba.
- Varghese (5/5): - Breakfast was bad, poor service.. How can you give quarter plates for having break fast..
A housekeeping staff just opened the door and walked in to clean without even checking
The building is not the same shown in the pic.
- Miles (2/5): Terrible for the price paid - Location is convenient Bed sheets dirty and room stank of smoke,

- Martin (9/5): - Location and basic room
- Thomas (4/5): - Location Felt uncomfortable. Being bothered. By homeless people. What did money off you all the time? We're staying in the hotel.
- Jonathan (3/5): Safe when locked in room. - Location The hotel let what only can describe as homeless people wander around the hotel, one of these gentlemen was sleeping on our corridor didn’t feel safe leaving the room or using lift with the group of men in reception making comments as we passed. Unsure why the hotel would allow this.
- Roberts (5/5): - Not much.⁰ Attitude of staff. Payed for room and they locked us out of or room when we went out for lunch passed us in the hall and locked the room as we left.
- Mark (6/5): Stayed for travel - The location It was wat it was u paid for wat u get
- Leita (8/5): - Large room
Comfortable bed
Laundry facility was a big plus
Friendly staff
Hot shower Not all television channels had reception
No tea making facilities in room
Lack of hooks in bathroom to hang things on
- Mary (5/5): Staff great - The staff are so helpful when asked about a problem that may arise Room was tatty and not clean We have stayed here before rooms upstairs much better
- Anna (5/5): Great location, but covers the basics only - Close to station and easy check in procedure Very basic facilities and room set up. No extras in room (no kettle/hair drier/irons etc)
Very basic decor
- Nerijus (1/5): -
- AD (6/5): Good - The staff were very welcoming Smoking of patrons just outside of the entrance
- Louis (8/5): Correct dans l'ensemble, pas de chocolat pour le petit déjeuner, pas de croissant - Le petit déjeuner
- Bich-Ngoc (8/5): -
- Craig (3/5): -
- Mark (8/5): Great staff, room very basic and great location. - Great location Room very basic
- Julie (8/5): Okay but very basic only bed and shower - Comfortable, with a lovely shower and it’s location was ideal We couldn’t make a hot drink in our room
- Jodi (4/5): It was okay just shame about the shower - Staff were welcoming Our shower was broken so as you turnt it on it was coming out two different directions so was leaking into hotel room through door and lights were flickering in shower which was probably faulty because of leak and room was so cold.

- Imran (7/5): -
- Steve (7/5): -
- Will (7/5): -
- Matthew (6/5): -
- Lesley (5/5): Basic accommodation close to Horizon Port - Proximity to cruise port Room layout. Poor breakfast service kept running out of the basics like cutlery and plates then the food too. no access to hot drinks.
- Sophie (10/5): -
- Nigel (5/5): The hotel offers excellent value for money, but is just a soul less dormitory with little to commend - That I was able to store my bicycle in my room. What a horrible soul less place this hotel is, stuck in the middle of a car park in the middle of nowhere.
The room was a good size and actually had bed space for 3 people, so good value, but it really was too utilitarian for my likings.
- Graham (8/5): Great value for money - Location, cleanliness and price were excellent. Cramped feeling for 3 people
- Clarke (3/5): - Staff were good Unusual layout in bedrooms and very basic
- Robbins (8/5): -
- Kiril (8/5): -
- Ray (3/5): -
- ColWood69 (2/5): Never again! - The location Everything! Very old, tired looking. Small room with only one double socket, the other side from the bed. Woodchip wallpaper. Don't think the place has seen a paint brush in 20 years! Unfortunately, swarmed by police on my night there for someone kicking off in reception. I guess it was cheap for the night and handy for the ferry, but wish I'd paid the extra £30 and stayed in the actual Ibis next door! The bar in the Novotel across the road was great though!! 👍🏻
- michela (10/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): Great stay - Loved our stay. Lovely quiet clean spacious room. Staff lovely No problems
- Joe (8/5): -
- Sarah (4/5): Booked here to watch Arsenal play so was in the room minimal time, pictures make it look a lot better than it is but was - It was clean, wouldn’t want to spend more than a hour in the room! It’s very very basic lots of homeless staying in the hotel
- Robert (6/5): -
- Heather (8/5): Cheap and cheerful! - Brilliant location for getting to the ferry terminal. Excellent value for money. It was fine for the cost!
- Molly (9/5): - Budget friendly, close to cruose terminals, easy walk to stores and pubs, the wall...very friendly desk attendants. The breakfast had few choices. No hand towels.
- Margaret (8/5): Everything that was needed for short stay - Nice. What was expected
- gill (5/5): - location for cruise port no tea or coffee making facilities
bed uncomfortable smelly toiket
- Lesley (5/5): -
- stuart (7/5): -
- Jumaboi (10/5): - Very very beautiful girl in reception
- Marie (5/5): Won’t stay again - The fact no tea /cofee in room and breakfast area was dirty and unorganised
- Margot (7/5): -
- Brown (1/5): - The location It was run down and very much in a poor state
- Si (4/5): 4/10 - Very friendly and kind stuff. I suspect there was a mouse in my room because I saw something like mouse shit on one of my bed but I cannot confirm that.
- Paul (7/5): Handy for the Cruise Terminal - We chose the hotel as it was walkable to the Cruise Terminal; it was also handy for the Railway Station It's a budget hotel; ok for our needs, which was an overnight stay
- AgnieszkaUK (7/5): -
- Inkpin (5/5): It was okay - The toilet smelled like pee
- Cristiano (9/5): -
- Gemma (4/5): -
- Campbell (7/5): - Price and location.
- Lisa (9/5): - In middle of Southampton city centre, near train station
- Aneirin (5/5): - The room was comfortable, however… Consodering I was given a parking fine, even though I had paid for parking at reception, I am not best pleased with my stay.
- stephen (1/5): Don’t bother! That’s all I can say - Not much! Close to the cruise terminal Dirty, a lot of undesirables hanging around inside the hotel
- Dewi (4/5): okay for a one night stay. - the staff were great, the parking was good, the room was clean and okay for an overnight stay; a bit compact if staying for longer. The noise from the MacDonalds drive through was disruptive and felt continuous throughout the night. The noise came from people ordering food and music from the cars.
- Rachel (5/5): Basic , suitable for over night not long break -
- Lindsey (9/5): -
- John (10/5): -
- Yao (10/5): -
- keith (5/5): Central position. Very close to station. No frills but fine for an overnight stay -
- Giorgio (2/5): -
- Peter (7/5): -
- 戚 (9/5): - The room is very clean, the front desk service is very friendly, and the hotel is very close to the station. My friend and I received a very good experience here. You can see the cruise ship at the dock when leaving the hotel.
- elliot (2/5): Fair - Didn't bookbreakfast Room too basic. Not enough store space e.
- Calixto Emerson (9/5): Small but cozy 3 triple room. Location is within reach to everything - Very near to everything The price is high during that weekend, but what can we do. Its southampton marathon
- Patrick (2/5): -
- Fiona (6/5): Wonderful staff - The staff were ridiculously lovely and helpful, they were really cheerful and had a good sense of humour which you don't get at all hotels.
We were staying for a gig nearby so the location was great for that. The beds were unfortunately really uncomfortable! Very hard mattresses. The main tap in the room didn't stay up and kept turning itself off when trying to wash your hands. The door also didn't shut without a lot of effort - we had come back from the gig to find it was unlocked the whole time.
- Marian (6/5): - clean and the staff is super ok expensive for the small rooms they have
- Sam (2/5): Left early due to abundance of noise from the local down and outs and McDonald’s drive thru - It was clean, that’s about it. The local down and outs must be placed there, plus the early hours of people pushing their horns to get the attention of the McDonald’s drive thru wa awful. Ended up leaving the property in the early hours to drive home.
- Penny (5/5): We'd never book another Ibis Budget. - Easy check in. Lift worked. Good shower. Cramped room. Little space for luggage. Bland. Noisy building work. Chip fat smells from MacDonalds next door, even though we were on the third floor. We booked for two nights and left after one. We wished we had paid a bit more and gone to a different hotel.
- griffin (8/5): -
- Omowunmi (10/5): -
- Lucélia Monteiro (8/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): will use again - easy to find , very clean room , helpful staff , close to cruise port , perfect for a short or overnight stay nothing , all is good
- Adrian (8/5): Great value - Staff were great. Really helpful Budget, great value for a quick stay
- Creasey (9/5): -
- Charlotte (7/5): Nice stay close to the cruise port, but very poor breakfast - Room was nice The breakfast was shocking, especially for the supposed cost for it. Stale food that looked as though it had been there for days…
