Guest Reviews
- Veronica (10/5): - Everything was great except the bed was hard. We would stay again
- Kathleen (10/5): Highly recommended. - Exceptionally clean. Well furnished. To find all the amenities - including coffee set-up, refrigerator, microwave, and hair dryer - with easy off-on access to the highway at such a reasonable price is great.
- Daniel (10/5): - Very easyin and out very good price
- William (10/5): - Had a great stay but Expedia screwed things up. The motel was great!
- Isaac (10/5): The best - We have stayed at this motel many times when we are in the area. The beds have always been very comfortable and clean. The rooms are large and have all amenities that we need.
- Joyce (8/5): - The check in lady was very pleasant. My husband went back later to get the WiFi password, and the gentleman at the front desk was hesitant in giving it to him. If WiFi isn't available, then don't advertise that it is. The motel is behind the Sunoco station to the NW. The motel signs are difficult to see right away. The motel room was clean with a little chipped paint here and there. The price was goodand served our needs.
- Connie (10/5): Old Time - Old time motel. They clean room daily. Very friendly. My toilet had a problem fixed witin 1 hour. Really enjoy my stay here.
- Leslee (10/5): - My only complaint anout this motel was the lack of kleenex in the room.
Very friendly staff and very clean room.
- Lane (10/5): - Very Clean
- Christine (8/5): - Nice motel. Conveniently located off the highway. Very clean. A bit outdated but we weren’t looking for fancy. Just rest. Bed was too firm for us. Easy check in and super friendly staff.
- Adam (10/5): Mini vacation - Fantastic stay, amazing quality for the price!
- marjorie (10/5): - Surprisingly a great little place. If it hadn't got such great reviews, we would never have chosen it from its outward presentation, however, it was just great. Not fancy or beautiful, but did what it needs to do.
- susan (10/5): peace and quiet - i love the name and it is comfy here
- Kevin (10/5): - Very clean/very reasonably priced = great value.
Minimal/lighting signage at the street.. insufficient lighting around parking & rooms. I believe that many women and some men would refuse to stay there based on this.
- Ryan (10/5): - Staff was great.
- Douglas (8/5): Clean no frills room - Overnight stay when returning home from vacation. The room was clean and reasonably priced.
- Derrick (10/5): - Very helpful staff. Very accomadating with my mistake in reservation changes. Nice room, roomy bathroom, very clean.
- Barry (10/5): - Very nice motel in a convenient location.
- Derrick (10/5): - Great room, clean, friendly staff. TV that works, lots of hot water, comfortable beds, heat/AC is good.
- Deborah (8/5): - This is a classic roadside motel. Older, but spotless. Nice mini fridge. Room is on the small side, agaon classic motel, but a great value for the price
- Carolyn (8/5): - The rooms may be a little small and some things might be a little outdated but it was the perfect quiet little hotel from my daughter and I for two nights and three days. The restaurant down the street was delicious and there was McDonald's and two gas stations. The room was very clean in the air conditioning was nice and cold and I would highly recommend them if you are ever in Warren Indiana
- Anthony (4/5): - Uncomfortable beds. TV not working.
- Basil (10/5): - Very reasonably priced..people where kind
- Rebecca (10/5): Stayed a third night - Immediate noticed that the room and bathroom and towels were all very clean! The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable! I like having a ceiling fan and a loveseat and a desk! TV worked great, although we did have to have the remote changed - quickly, no problem!
- Cathie (10/5): Wonderful place to stay! - The owners are wonderful people so friendly and kind. Very helpful. Room was cozy and very clean.lots of things to see close by. Highly recommend.❤️
- Alison (8/5): - Convenient off/on the highway. Friendly and professional staff. Clean but well used room. Had a musty oder.
- Barry (10/5): - Easy to find and clean.
- Julie (6/5): - It was good value for the cost. However it is situated right by a very busy and noisy highway. Some noisy neighbors and thin walls. But the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Shower was nice but operated oddly and took me a few minutes to figure it out. The chair and couch in the room were too low to the ground. Hard to get back up. Same with the toilet. I doublt I will stay there again unless it was the only one available or affordable at the time. But in spite of the things I wish had been better, I had an enjoyable stay and a good night's sleep. The person working in the office was polite and helpful.
- Elsa (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. It looks just like the picture that was displayed that’s important.
- Roger (10/5): - We always enjoy staying at Huggy Bear! We have family in Warren and they recommend Huggy Bear!!
- Stefan (10/5): - This is an independent motel and an excellent value. The rooms are clean and quiet (I was surprised at how close I-69 is when I opened my door in the morning, I had no clue). There are plenty of amenities that some budget places don't have (microwave, fridge, etc.) Owner is very cordial, the place is easy to find, and I slept great. I would absolutely stay again.
- Kevin (10/5): - Room was clean and so were towels. Great price compared to some of the other bigger names in the area. Fridge and microwave in all rooms. With direct tv and internet. Friendly staff. Would use again if in the area.
- Lynn (10/5): - The Huggy Bear Motel is a little gem tucked away in a small town that is a great place to rest when traveling on I-69. The owners and staff are always very professional and helpful, especially when you leave something at the motel.
- Tom (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable.
- Edmund (10/5): - A family owned and operated for many years. It gives me a warm welcome when I first walked into the main office. It has a basketball net which my kids loved. A great little place to stay a few nights. The rooms are very clean with fresh towels and bed sheets. The room are very cozy which makes a great sleep. Wifi is supper fast but no breakfast. McDonalds is close by.
- Chris (8/5): Happy traveler - We’re left hotels that wanted $100 a night more. This was a great deal and a nice place to stay.
- Diana (8/5): Nice and economical place to stay - Very nice and helpful staff; clean and comfortable rooms with decent amenities---TV, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator etc. Only negative (and it's a small one): the ceiling fan was a bit squeaky. But that was a minor detail. The price was great, and it was pleasant staying out in the country, but just off a main highway for convenience. I'd definitely stay there again.
- Miriam (10/5): - I love that it's an affordable option that's clean and well maintained. The rooms have a microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator. Huggy Bear is our go-to when we need a cheap overnight stay near Marion.
- Daniel (8/5): - Liked the convenience. The room was very clean too.
The mattress was a bit broken down compared to other hotels we have stayed at.
- Michelle (8/5): - It was clean and a good price point. But nothing in the area.
- DEANNA (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay.
- Phil (10/5): Great little place to stay. - Fantastic little gem of a hotel tucked off the interstate. Super friendly owner with very clean rooms. Quiet and peaceful, a nice respite from the typical highway hotels. The name is a nice throwback to the good old days of road tripping with my folks.
- Donna or Joe (10/5): - Have stayed here several times, its always clean inside and out. Have never been disappointed.
- Richard (8/5): - Fantastic price for small, impeccably clean and quiet overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best! - Friendliest, cleanest budget motel ever, rooms look recently updated and fully equipped. Feels safe and comfortable. Easy stay with a dog and good layout to fit dog crate next to bed. Green space easily accessible and reasonable daily fee per dog. Happy to stay at the HuggyBear anytime I'm in the area.
- Kay (8/5): - A great room! Loved the ceiling fan. I got there early and they let me check in with no problems and very friendly. The only down thing was there was a plug in air freshener, which I am allergic to. I threw the plug in in a plastic bag and took it out of the room. Luckily the weather was very nice and the area felt very safe so I was able to leave my door open for a few hours. I would stay there again.
- Angela R (10/5): - Upon verification of my reservation i was upgraded to a king bed and bigger room at no extra cost. Management was also very helpful at helpful me figure out the tv and get me connected to the internet cause i was having difficulties connecting
- Richard (8/5): - Ease of access
- Robert (10/5): Nice little independent motel - I would recommend this motel to anyone wanting a clean, quiet, well maintained motel. The rates are very reasonable and I'm sure we'll stay here again.
- Travicia (10/5): 10/10 Recommend - Amazing place. Amazing environment. Amazing front desk workers and housekeepers. Made me completely comfortable. Very affordable. 10/10 recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): Labor day trip - Nice small hotel. Great price. Clean
- SUSAN (8/5): Huggy Bear - The rooms were very clean. Shower was hot and good water pressure. My only draw back was that the bed was a little worn out and the walls were thin. I could hear the person next door snoring thru the walls.
I would stay there again.
- Red (8/5): - Huggy Bear Motel met our basic requirements of, Clean, Neat, comfortable beds, Safe Parking, clean bathroom, & everything in the room works. If I had to note a problem it was with the WIFI signal it was very weak and often would have a OK signal and a BAD signal.
- Kathy (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised by how clean Huggy Bear was when I got there. Contrary to the Expedia statements, they do have 24 hour check in, which was great for me when I arrived at midnight.
The only drawback, was there were no bear hugs. lol
- Paul (8/5): Will stay here again - For an older motel very clean and well kept. Safe area too :)
- Gordy (10/5): - Excellent value for the money. Stay here any time I'm in the area.
- Craig (10/5): Excellent Cleanliness and all around great! - I have stayed @ the Huggy Bear 3 times in the past, always very good and satisfied. Our last stay on Apr. 1st was "exceptionally" good in how "clean" it was. Our trip home to Canada, we stayed in 5 hotels. Due to the Corona VIrus, in "every" hotel I immediately wiped down "everything" in the room with sanitary wipes. The 4 previous hotels were filthy or dirty on all wipes, but in the Huggy Bear Motel, it was "SPOTLESS" on all my sanitary wipes. Way to go, very impressed and cannot wait to come back again. Thank you
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Roge at the reception went 10 extra miles to help my husband whom was travelling alone ,was discouraged by a long trip and doesn’t speak much English.
Thank you Roge people like you make the difference not only in travel but in a person’s life.
Don’t change!Cheers from Canda!
- Danielle (8/5): - They should really catch up on ADA regulations pertaining to service dogs. I was tired and did not want to debate so I paid the extra money. Other then that it was comfortable.
- April (10/5): Huggy bear is the best. - The Huggy Bear is the best small hotel... i have returned to this morel motel twice now, and the service is amazing the rooms are clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, quiet, easy access to hwy. Food nearby. Recommend highly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was clean & comfortable. Staff was very friendly too. Would stay again
- Wallace (6/5): - This is a family owned motel. You can tell they try, but it’s dated. Carpet is worn as are the bed linens. Bathroom was clean and operative. This is fine for a night if you need a place to sleep.
- Savannah (8/5): - It was good
- Anne (8/5): - The stay at the motel was fine, a very good experience for the low cost. The pillows could have been a little softer, but overall no complaints. Was just passing through the area. If you plan to stop there just be aware there isn't much else around....the nearby restaurant wasn't very good, and other than a few gas stations and McDonalds, no place to eat.
- Faye (8/5): Good stay, poor wifi - This was an inexpensive stay but a bit far from our weekend plans. No breakfast, some freeway noise. WiFi signal would not connect, bed could be more comfortable. But it was cheaper than the hotels closer to our destination, overall a good stay.
- David (10/5): Old-School Gem - I was really afraid to book this hotel based on the name and the low rate. After reading the many great reviews, I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. Yes, it's a bit dated (and nostalgic) but it's very clean and well-kept. Great water pressure with plenty of hot water. Staff member was very friendly and helpful and check-in quick and easy. If you are looking for a no-frills, clean place to stay for the night at an unbelievable rate...this is the place. I would absolutely stay here again without hesitation.
- David (8/5): Relaxing Stay - I love the old "Americana" style hotels, they remind me of when I was a kid traveling with my parents...good times!! This is a well maintained motel both inside and out - super clean with quick access to I-69.
- Rich (8/5): - Selected this motel strictly as a result of online customer reviews. It was a clean and pleasant room and the only complaint I had was the WiFi was poor at best. Constant drops and difficulties in reconnecting. For the low room cost, however, it is a pretty nice motel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the dollar, great value. Easy parking, well lit, renovated older motel in very good condition, clean and well maintained.
- Edward (8/5): Great value. - Nice place, great value. Some expressway noise, it may not bother most people, I can't even sleep with the noise from air conditioner, always turn them off after cooling room. For tall or big people be aware that the toilet is very low. Rooms are nice size. Plenty of parking close to rooms. People in office friendly..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room, bathroom, quiet safe area. Will recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I know it sounds silly, but the strength of the shower water that came out felt soooo good! Never had a shower feel that good in any of the other hotels ive ever stayed in! My only complaint was it only has i believe it was just body wash and no shampoo/conditioner(or vise versa). I would definitely recommend this hotel, and i will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is a bit dated, but fairly clean. Beds were comfortable and the AC worked just fine, so the main things are good. Quiet, we didn't hear Interstate road noise.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. The check in was easy. Staff was very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The first motel that I stayed in that had 4.3 stars out of five
- Kevin (10/5): - Great place if you're on a budget. Clean with good bed, refrigerator and microwave. Will stay again if in area.
- Lynda (8/5): Very clean - Very clean, spacious rooms. Great location for travellers, right off the highway.
- Dorothy (10/5): Love the name! - This was a great find, very clean inside and outside. Sign in a breeze, bed comfortable. We found it a great place for a good nights rest. Will come again if in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The motel is surprisingly clean as other reviews have already said.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice motel for the money. Roomside parking, pleasant property. Beautiful day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient to our destination. Nice location close to major road.
- Brian (8/5): Glad to stay - I was a little hesitant about staying there but, I was very impressed with the motel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I would gladly stay here again and would recommend it for anyone to stay there in the future. Definitely a thumbs up 👍
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to the Interstate, reasonably priced and clean inside and out. A bit dated, but accept it and feel nostalgic if you remember the hood old days.
- Isaac (8/5): This is the place! - This motel is very comfortable with spacious rooms and very clean and a reasonable price. There is a fast food and also a sit-down restaurant very close as well as a large parking lot to take a walk. We have loved staying here several times!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Old motel feel, great nights sleep, perfect for the $
- Richard E. (6/5): - The room was pretty much what I expected for the price. The mattresses were old, quite uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The carpet too could use a good cleaning or replacement. Housekeeping does a fair job at cleaning which is a plus. Checking in and out was easy and the man working the desk was friendly and welcoming.
- Ricky (8/5): Huggy Bear is as comfy as the name - The room was clean and fresh and the ease of location is also a plus. The manager was responsive and kind, I lost my key and he replaced for free with a smile. Great nights sleep.
- Autumn (8/5): Comfortable stay - Very clean and just what we needed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Home like, convenient, quiet location. Room was clean, decent sized, and welcoming. Definitely worth the price and will stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Happy place - Great value and very good cleanliness.
- Andrew J. (10/5): - As others have said this motel provides a very clean, quiet place to stay at a very reasonable price. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Would have liked a small breakfast set up. Maybe extra blanket in room; got cold because the heating unit was noisy, so I turned it off.
- Irene (10/5): Worth the Stay! - Skeptic at first, but it is definitely worth the money. What I like the most is the parking in front of the room door. No hassle in dragging my luggage to hallway or stairs.
Old style motel but very much upgraded with current amenities such as micro/fridge & flat screen TV.
- Nancy (8/5): - Property was clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Snackman (8/5): - Good location right off I-69. Well worth the money.
- Denise (10/5): Huggs for Huggy Bear - Awesome for the price! Clean, spacious and quiet!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very comfortable and incredibly clean. Staff was very helpful. It reminded me of the motels we used to stay at in the 60s and 50s when I was a child. You could pull into a roadside Motel and it would be absolutely wonderful. This was exactly the same.
- Phil (8/5): - Inexpensive, clean hotel. Great place to spend a night.
- Richard (10/5): Good choice - Everything was good at the hotel. It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It had all that I was needing at a good price.
