Guest Reviews
- markchristianv2016 (10/5): Clean, affordable and accessible - Accessible to some touristic attractions in Bangkok, walking distance to chinatown and riverside. Price is reasonably cheap. Just quiet hard to find cause it’s located in small alley but overall good. Recommended
- uvit2020 (8/5): Good Stay - The hotel is clean and good. The staff socializes well and is helpful. The rooms were small. The bed is comfortable. It is tough to find the hotel, you need to take guidance from the hotel for the same. The good thing is it is affordable with basic amenities.
- 256josephines (8/5): Visit for Work - I visited Bangkok for some business and chose Chilli Bangkok Hotel to stay.. It was a nice stay overall. The staff's good. I chose the standard double room so it was spacious enough for me. The rooms are clean. Nice food.
- 277cassyc (10/5): Cozy and comfortable - We visit chilli bangkok in December. we liked the stay. there are many floors in this hotel. the stay was good. hotel staff very nice they helped us. the game area is also nice. the rooms were comfortable.
- phennyr (8/5): Good hotel - It is a budget hotel near Chinatown. Friendly people at the hotel. The hotel is well maintained in the terms of cleanliness. We had some difficulty in finding but the staff guided us well. The plus point is that it is very near to the subway station.
- 944tapans (10/5): เที่ยวเมืองไทย - Comfort stay in Bangkok. I visited Bangkok for business purpose. The hotel is located very near to MRT station which was very convenient for me. The stay was good. The rooms were neat and clean. The staff is very helpful.
- TravelsK0 (8/5): Stay in Bangkok - We stayed here for 6 nights. The place is located in an alley, away from the main road, so it's quiet. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room is quite small and at least in out room, the bathroom wall had a hap between the wall and the ceiling so one can hear everything that's going on there. Another room had fully enclosed bathroom. The internet was slow (the whole building is made of concrete). One can was and dry clothes for a small fee. 7-Eleven is a short walk away and the metro about 10 minutes walk. The touristy things are a bit far away, but Grab works great and is cheap.
- 127desiree (10/5): Cosy Rooms, friendly staff. Had a great stay - We only stayed one night and were very happy with our stay. It's rough to find, make sure you have an exact description before your check-in. The Hotel interior is lovely, a little Urban. The staff super nice. Great if you stay by yourself OR don't have too much luggage since the rooms are a little small. Would always book again.
- iammalaysianla (10/5): Chilli Bangkok Chill!!! - cosy space, friendly staff and location near the train station, great restaurants along Silom Road and not crowded.. I have had the experience of leaving the bag for almost a year and have been well cared for by the hotel staff
- Trek101250 (10/5): Short Transit Visit - Perfect experience - Was a very short visit for a couple of hours in Transit. But comfortable bed, friendly staff and good shower! The rooms were really tiny but for the price, they were perfect!
Will recommend to people on the move or business travellers.
- 805j_zsefv (10/5): Really nice accomodation in perfect location - The staff was very kind and helpful and hotel is in perfect place, everything is what you need is close to the hotel, so if you are looking for a clean and quiete accomodation in Bangkok this is the perfect choice :)
- regis (4/5): - Pas de quoi poser les sacs ! La douche presque sur les toilettes !
- Daniele (10/5): - The properties theme was totally unique. It was a really cool place. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It's a good hotel in budgeted price for backpackers. The cafe and bar area is a cool place to relax and enjoy playing billiards. I will surely you guys again..!!
- robert (10/5): cool at the chilli - nice place has everything
- 923shainac (10/5): Really nice and the owner is so sweet - Really good room for price - clean and tidy with own bathroom and shower ! The woman is so lovely and helpful too, she made my stay in Bangkok very easy. Will be returning when I stay in Bangkok again !
- raj19471245 (10/5): Personal attention & great care - The best thing about this place is the staff here because they are so attentive to your requirements and make sure the stay is great.
I was with my family and had a great time, they explained me all the near by atractions and best way to go there. This was my first experience of staying in Thailand and am tottaly impressed with thai hospitality.
Great team good room and nice location makes it ideal choice for best Bangkok stay hotel.
- AvidTravellers1987 (10/5): Best Hotel in Pattaya - friendly staff - I stayed here for 4 nights and this place have an amazing team of local staff managing the operations. They are friendly and goes out of way to make you feel comfortable.
I recommend tha place if your are travelling with family..though you will see lot of youngsters staying at the hotel.
Best part is location.. most places are close bu and its well connected.
I keep travelling often and now this will be my place to stay. Definitely coming back.
- AnkitaA18 (8/5): a nice, small cozy room... - I stayed here for 2 days.. and they made me feel at home... after one week of island hoping, i had to catch a flight from Bangkok... So thought of taking a halt in Bangkok and enjoy some pubs in the city too. read some reviews and manged to book the hotel, honestly spent most of the time at the pool table during the day in the hotel. and since metro was close by i traveled in a metro and saw other places too.. rooms were nice, small yet cozy... its just appropriate... and it fits in the budget too...helpful staff.. met the owner too.. luckily all speak in English..its quiet ... but i like it that way.. for people traveling in small group, i would recommend it..its a perfect pitstop if you plan to island hop from Bangkok
- dorm333283mjd (10/5): Quiet, Unique, and Convenient - Chilli Chilli BangBang! Such a warm welcoming from staff. Quiet location in the heart of Bangkoks easiest transportation system. Trains available going North to Chiang Mai, North East to famous Isan region of Thailand, and of course south heading towards the beautiful islands of Thailand. I recommend anyone who is simply commuting through bkk moving along to other parts of Thailand or South East Asia to experience a taste of what Chilli has to offer. At Chilli Bangkok, you'll find staff to be helpful and keep you moving in the right direction. Thank you Chilli! See you soon again)
- silverstowaway (8/5): Clean and Friendly - I rented a private room for a few nights after finishing a 6 week long tour of Indochina, to have a few days to reorganise myself. The room was small but did the job and it was helpful to have an en-suite bathroom. The view from my room was simply of a wall as the adjacent building has been built so close but I could see fork the outside that other rooms had a much better view. The whole hostel was clean and welcoming and the staff were very friendly. There was one lady in particular who was often downstairs and couldn’t do enough to help me.
Everyone I encountered could speak some English and I got by just fine between that and my Thai language book. I’m not quite sure why some people here believe there should be someone who can speak perfect English at every stop.. we’re in Thailand! Learn some Thai!
Location wise it was a few miles from the centre but very near one of be major train stations (10 minute walk). A pier with a whole host of upmarket restaurants and boat access was also only 5 minutes away.
Communal area was small and quiet so maybe not as suited to travellers looking to socialise.
Did the job well. I would recommend.
- tikaturner (4/5): Disgusting - No airport transfer or bike hire as advertised. Private room was small as we expected, but stunk of mould and there was no ventilation whatsoever. I slept with my pollution mask on and ear plugs because the air conditioner was squeeling all night. Blood stains on sheets and pillow case to top it all off. We feel as though theyve spent a lot on the exterior to make it look lovely but room was one of the worst we've had in 3 months. Consider elsewhere.
- Adam (10/5): Comfortable - with friendly staff! - Very friendly staff. A little tough to find - and not too close to metro - but it's a nice spot with affordable rates.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good stuff. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddddddd more good stuff
- doctorryanm (2/5): Rude and disgusting - I booked the hotel for 3 days. My plane was delayed so I flew in late. After traveling for 30 hours I finally took a taxi to the hotel. It was dark and the doors were closed. I rang the bell outside. Nobody came to answer the door. I opened the sliding door and stepped inside. A man woke up from sleeping on the floor and started screaming at me. I told him I had a reservation for 3 nights. He said they gave my room away to someone else. Check-in time was finished. He was extremely rude. I finally paid a taxi driver to take me to a hotel that had a room available for the next three days. I hope that my booking service gets the money back.
In addition, the hotel was difficult to find and too far away from all the fun touristy things. I hope they get shut down.
- noame144 (2/5): BED BUGS EVERYWHERE!!! - Stay out of this place. We got a tiny, smelly, moldy room. And the we saw bed bugs in our bed. There was a nice girl in the reception that didn't know a single word in english and then arrived a man that was very rude and unpleasant. It was horrible, we noved out of that hostel in the middle of the night even though we booked it for 2 nights.
Do yourself a favor and don't go there!
- Ryan (6/5): - It was safe, but the walk to get there feels sketchy. Check in went quickly and most of the staff is wonderful. Rooms are extremely small. Hardly floor space for our packs. The only plug was 6 inches from the ceiling. Bathroom didn't seem to be cleaned. There is onsite laundry. 30baht to wash, and 70 baht to dry. At the end of the day, it's a safe, cheap place to lay your head.
- Matthew (6/5): A warm Place - The people working there are nice and helpful. I think that the price is reasonable. It is worth having a try.
- Bob (6/5): Hard to find for the taxi driver - You have to walk down alley to get there. Housekeeping is very good. Rooms are tiny, I had to sit sideways on the toilet and I'm not tall!
- Rhys (4/5): Modern Budget Hotel: Beware Of Bed Bugs - I was originally pleasantly surprised with the Modern look of the hotel hidden down a side alley of Bangkok, Reception aren't the friendliest bunch so please take them with a pinch of salt.
Everything was OK with the hotel until we attempted to sleep which is when I noticed bed bug after bed bug in the room, I showed Reception the video and she offered to move us into a second room.
The second room was no different, In the corners of the room were bed bugs, Crawling up the wall and across the bed.
We finally got moved into a third room (with bunk beds) this room didn't have anything bugs but smelt rather moldy.
Overall budget hotel which if you can see past the bed bugs would be a great place to stay but for me the bugs were a complete no-go.
- Janar (6/5): Cheap small room near Hua Lumpung - Stay was OK. Receptionist lady not very accommodating, the rooms are small and there is just a mattrace on the wall. Good for a short stay. AC works fine. Atleast cheap. Good location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very Bad experience, no recommend! - The worst stay ever, I booked the superior room, there was no window, 10qm you can't even stand in it. Toilet was too small to sit, no shampoo or soap like in the description offered. There were BEDBUGS under my bed, I changed the hostel. Unpolite and rude service, I really don't recommend it!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Taxi hell. Bad room and shower. Unfriendly staff - The location of the hotel was not ideal. Taxi drivers did not understand the location of the hotel and so it was very difficult to get back. Hotel staff were cold and unfriendly. We got the wrong room despite booking months beforehand. The shower drain was clogged and drained very slowly. When we told the staff about it, they claimed it was "normal". Overall, a regretful stay, would not recommend to anyone. 1/5 stars.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Camera piccolissima e scomoda.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap but stylish - For the price it's the best choice. It's cheap, clean and it looks nice inside. Just the service stuff is a little bit impolite and it's 20min fare away from Simen area by foot.
- brycio (2/5): bangkok the worst ever stay - firstly the pics looked ok on the promos, but there was no bar ,the rooms were tiny ,no room for luggage, there was no cleaning done in one week, the staff, espicially girl on reception was rude, and dismissive of any requests. a nightmare stay.this is an anomaly as thai hospitality is always supreme.
- jane (6/5): Budget friendly for a solo traveller :) - It was good. The room was ok for me because I am not tall but I think the bed will be too small for taller people. The rooms were clean and quiet.
* the sink was leaking, i told the staff and she said she knows about it already :(..
- Verified traveler (2/5): -
- nz (6/5): Hostel - You get what you pay for. The staff are very nice and try their best to accomodate your needs. This is perfect for backpacking on a budget.
- crystal (4/5): Little far away from train station - As captioned, it takes 15 minutes to walk.the nearest train station, if u go in summer, it is very hot and far away. For the items which mentioned be provided by hostel, like shampoo, bather and other cleaning items, are all excluded. Luckily i brought my own so no deal to me. The air conditioner is not cold at the time switch on but it is normal after a while and do really cold at night. But the room will not be cleaned if u stay more than one day
- Chiawei (2/5): terrible!
sucks!never come back again!the location pinned on Hotels.com is wrong,it takes us half hour to finding the right side.the reception is rude and politeless we feel no good there, and the room is terrible, unlike it shows on the website, small and old,we can do nothing except lying on the bed.but there's many bad bugs happenedin th room,we are scared untill check out(change room when second day). anyway,it's an horrible experience in Bangkok
Also echt okay!
- Tina Gustina (6/5): Hard to find but near chao phraya river - The Hostel was clean, air conditioners work really well, and the wifi was good. However the receptionist was not friendly, maybe because I'm a quite person. I heard her make a joke with another custumer. But there was kind person talk to me and give me a direction, I don't know who is she, the others employee or owner.
The room small, but no problem, the problem is the stop contact placed near the ceiling, I have to stand on my bed to charge my cellphone.
The location is hard to find, however it near the bangkok river city, and near the stop of chao phraya express, then you can easily get to grand palace, wat pho, and wat arun by chao phraya express. And if you are going back late, in the alley you will find a group of man, quite scary at first. over all if you are tight of budget, I will recommend this hostel
- Adrian (2/5): This is not a Hotel This is a HOSTEL - I booked this thinking it was a cheap Hotel but on arrival found it to be a Hostel! I booked a "superior room" because on my phone app it shows pictures of beds with linen and states things like "free toiletries" and "free wi-fi". NOT TRUE! The bed had a sheet but nothing else, the wi-fi looked to only be available on the ground floor and there wasn't even so much as piece of toilet roll. The room was so small it was impossible to put my bags anywhere but on the bed, the window opened up to a concrete wall and the power board wrapped up and hanging from the TV didn't sparked and refused to supply any power.
KNOWHERE (and I have double checked) on the web or phone app does it say HOSTEL. If it had I would never have booked it. This is a clear case of misrepresentation by this Hostel.
If you're the kind of person who likes Hostels, this one is not even good value.
I did not stay even one night but instead found a HOTEL to stay in.
- Fredo (2/5): Dog house which is difficult to find - Way way small room, not even a person can walk inside the room. Wifi signal fluctuating. No charging plug in room. They don't supply shampoo or soap. They don't have a lift, we have to use the stairs. Not even glass or drinking water in room. Place difficult to find. Way to the hotel is small and smelly(smell of fish). I think the hotel is overpriced for the facility we get. We can find much much better cheaper in that locality for sure.
- C. Peter (2/5): Social Services Worker - We very disappoint this Hotel. It is list that they have "Airport pick up services" but they do not this is dishonest, we took three hours to find taxi to the hotel. They also not change and clean the room that we stay two night. The Hotel located in narrow location that you have to walk in the narrow road with tall building to the main street it is feel unsafe to walk at night if you come back from the nightlife or sign seeing. We hope to hear from you soon.
- Erwin B. (6/5): Too small bedroom (single) - Too small bedroom for a single person. Noisy air-conditioning. But looks good and nice people
- Verified traveler (8/5): Helpful Staff - The front staff was very helpful and went out of her way to accommodate a couple of requests I had. That was really kind of her. The room was fine, nothing special, but it was clean and the air conditioner worked well. It's a budget hotel, clean, and has friendly staff. I'd recommend this hotel if that's what you are looking for.
Meget små værelser, men et udemærket sted "bare at overnatte"
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- BebInAsia (8/5): Chilli hotel Bangkok - Chilli Hotel is a good place if you crave a little peace. It's down a wriggly little Soi amid local houses. It's difficult to locate if driving from airport. The Soi end on the incoming road is not marked and is walk/motor cycle only and the surrounding main roads are one way. My driver was very sensible and patient and found the car entry end. It seems to be difficult to get to the 'action' of Bangkok but a 500 meter walk to 'River City' pier will get you any a ferry to anywhere you care to go for 40baht, it's a great way to travel. The only food available is from street stalls on the way to river city, or expensive salas on the river. The hotel is clean and cool. My room was a little small but it's only for sleeping! Air con is necessary, lots of glass so very light but very hot. The staff are friendly, and efficient with information as far as their limited English will take them. 24 hour security electronic key beer, water and soft drinks available free coffee & tea. The Chilli concept is great, it just needs a little refining.
- Verified traveler (4/5): l< - 1.
- stephan s.

Hotel very clean and confortable. Pepole speak great english . Not easy to find but the position juste behind the mainstreet of chinatown just perfect. a lot of thing to do around. You should try to go there cause very cheap and the guy from the office is very nice.
Elvin and delphine

- chris (4/5): Interesting, but not again. - I booked a single room & my goodness, was this ever a single room. It was tiny, by the time I unpacked my bag there was hardly any space to move. The main problem I had was that the room smelled damp because the bathroom didn't have an extractor fan. That aside, I actually enjoyed my stay in my tiny room. The hotel is located in a great area, which just about compensated.
- william1984 (8/5): little secluded hostel - Great place for backpackers and people on budget, friendliest staff I encounter so far. Cannot ask for more for the great price they give you. Only downfall is that is in the middle of a secret alley lol, unless you got a map or at least the phone number of the place your taxi driver will never find it. Will book again on the near future.
- Verified traveler (8/5): stay for days - the towel was changed for days.its not good for customer.
- Michael (2/5): Theft a major problem - My wife and I stayed here for two nights and we were robbed on both. Our door was locked during both incidents, so we suspect someone on the staff. My wife's phone, debit card and wedding ring were stolen.
- Simsim traveler (8/5): Better than dormitories - If u are a budget traveller, this is a place that is far better than stay at the dormitory as it provides private cheap room to stay.
- Judita (8/5): Nice affordable hotel in a good location - I had quite a pleasant experience in this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, helped me to carry my heavy suitcase to the floor that i was staying on and gave advice how to get around the city. I stayed on my own in a separate room, which was super small, but it was enough, because in a city like this you want to do see as much as you can without staying in a hotel too much.
It is really hard to find, so you definitely need to take tuk-tuk form the station.
- Johnny (8/5): Convenient Location - Overal a nice HOSTEL TYPE stay ... difficult for Taxi, Tuk Tuk drivers to find. Single rooms are incredibly small, and the toilet for big built people is impossible to sit on as no space for legs. As an overnighter just OK.
- Cath (6/5): Okay - This hostel was okay. Not bad, not great.
The room was quite small, and had a strange damp smell. There were no top sheets, instead they gave us large towels? Very weird. Also the staff at reception were sometimes grumpy, and sometimes only seemed interested in bringing their friends over to watch boxing on the tv.
There was hardly any atmoshere to the place, and there was very little in the way of information about things to do in Bangkok.
On the plus side, it was very reasonably priced, in a great location near the train station which can take you right to the airport, and the rooms were very clean. Also the air conditioners worked really well.
- r_jacz (10/5): this hostel has everything! - I stayed at the Chilli Bangkok after thinking it looked and sounded cool on its website! So glad I did, and I was right to, this place is amazing! The rooms are quite small that's the only thing. But there is free coffee for breakfast, free wifi and free internet and its within walking distance of some really cool parts of bangkok! I loved it!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hostel not a hotel - This place has nice people but not what you'd expect. It's tucked back in an alley and they book based on available beds not by the room. On my last night there I returned to my room to discover another person there occupying the free bed. It's set more like a hostel than a hotel.
- RTW420 (8/5): In Da Hood - Was a comfortable stay, love the neighborhood, good eats around...all u need at your fingertips!!
- Marius (4/5): can get much better hotel for a similar price - Not in the best neighbourhood and rooms are so small.
- Anthony (8/5): Sweet place - I enjoyed my stay at chillis the staff were fun and friendly they were helpful with getting around and places to eat the place is hidden away from the noise traffic and the best part was the pool table they have there don't be fooled the staff are really really really good at it so dnt bet money hahahaha the rooms were nice and they had a/c so afta a big day storming around and telling everyone I didn't wnt to buy a suit LOL u can relax in ur room or hang down stairs and drink beer with the locals it's a shame it came to the end because I was getting better at pool haha i recommend it ur traveling alone and wnt space from loud areas plus Khao San rd is 15 mins by boat or 10 in a tuk tuk either way check it out it's a site to see In the night time haha
- Verified traveler (8/5): hard to find by adress - Hotel was hard to find, even if i provided the taxidriver with map and adress. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and ok. this is a budget hotel and you get much for the money. The hotel has 2 or 3 computers connected to hi-speed internet. Guests can use them for free. There are also facilities for washing. Overall i had a very good stay.
- Henri (10/5): One week in Bangkok - It was a lovely and cosy hostel. I arrived very late but the staff welcomed me with a smile. They are very helpfull.
The hostel is hard to find, in the beginning. But the alley where it is situated is very quiet. I really felt safe and relaxed. Defenitivly worth a visit.
- Adamas (8/5): Small but perfect ! - Chilli is perfect for traveller: Rooms are very small but well organised with private bathroom and toilet with air conditioning, small but confortable bed (my point) and the most important the room and the hotel is really clean. Hi speed wi-fi everywhere and u can use the hotel fridge for your drinks and/or food. The bedrooms are little but that's finallya good point because it force you to go to the lobby (with 2 free-use computer+webcam, a pool, some books) where you can meet other traveller and ask everything you need to the so kind staff members of chilli hotel who will gived you many tips on Bangkok. I've booked for 1 week, I finally stayed ther for 3!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome!!! - Super rad!!!
This is a great spot and wonderful staff! Went beyond our expectations with service. Helped us out in where to go and the cheapest way to do it. Neighborhood was snug and excellent, a true Bangkok experience! Be ready to walk down an alley and see families outside playing with their kids. Close to a lot of hotspots. Especially the No. 3 port that can take you to all the best locations!
Best sleep we have had in 2 weeks! The AC was ice cold (had to turn it down) and slept amazing. Snug room makes it easy to cool off. Clean and clean.
Wonderful stay, go back in a heart beat. Recommend fully, great for price and wonderful staff.'
- Yung-Chang (2/5): inconvenient location - very inconvenient location in Bangrak, where is closed to Hua Lamphong Train main station. However this hotel is a few blocks away from main road and it is required to hire taxi all the time to travel in and out.
I would not like to advise other backpackers to stay here........
- Choy (4/5): It "defines" CHEAP! - I would only suggest this hostel/hotel to someone who was only intending to pass through Bangkok (that is, a stay of less than 2 days). The rooms are extremely small ergo the beds too. If you are over 5 feet 8 inches tall or are a "wide body" it is unlikely the small "cot" like beds would fit you.
Complimentary soap & hair products are not provided with your room (toilet paper is), however, the management team will be happy to direct you to the nearest 7Eleven. If you want your room cleaned (trash collected and/or a fresh sheet, you will need to ask and remind the management team on, at least, 2 to 3 occasions. The"Chilli" is, however, reasonably close to Chinatown (15 minute walk or 50 THB Tuk Tuk ride) and Silom (20 minute walk and 80 THB Tuk Tuk ride). The boat to Khaosan Road is very handy (the pier is to the "right" of The Sheraton" and buses, MRT and the long distance train station (to go to Changmai etc) is within a 12-15 minute walk. Another bonus is its proximity to an excellent Japanese restaurant, "Hayana" which is the oldest (est 1976) Japanese restaurant in Bangkok and serves local and imported (from Japan) fish. The management team at Chilli tend to "run hot and cold". At times very helpful but other times almost cold and indifferent. I was questioned by the Night Manager why I used a new towel every day. I would also not recommend any if the massage places close to Chilli ( I looked at 6 of them) over priced and poor facilities.
- Clair (8/5): Clean room - The room is small but clean. However, it's a bit far from the metro station.
- Tommy (6/5): Cheap and nice - Small room. Nice if all you need is a place to sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great service! - For such an inexpensive price, I was very pleased with everything! The staff was pleasant, helpful, & friendly during every interaction! The building was quiet & clean. Tight quarters, but that was expected! Thanks for everything!
- JP (6/5): 'Efficient' room - This hotel was ok - but be warned the room I stayed in was about 2m square - to the point where there literally was only 5cm clearance in front of the toilet - so you had to sit on it sideways - NO JOKE! So if comfort is your thing then I would avoid it - myself I was actually quite taken by the sheer barefacedness of it!
- Stuniverse (6/5): Just ok. - Despite being clean enough and with a slightly funky feel to it, I was overall not too happy. Unfortunately, the 3rd floor does not get WiFi coverage! I was only told this on arrival. Also, my room was laughably small.. I'm not a tall person (6'9") but I could not site on the toilet straight! I had to turn sideways. Seriously.
