- Sadie (9/5): I would highly recommend this hotel - Beautiful building
Comfortable room
Delicious toiletries
Great location with lots to do in the immediate area
Great restaurant Pillows were too puffy
There was no way to turn off the heating/cooling fan. It was not needed, and it was loud.
- Jack (10/5): - The hotel was very close to great restaurants and bars.
All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel impeccably clean.
Included with your stay was access to the attached beautiful health club and spa. Nothing
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Laura (9/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): We came to visit our daughter living in the Ballard area and felt very comfortable at this location. The attached restau - The room was large and very comfortable and the location was central to shops, restaurants and breweries. Nothing
- Diane (10/5): Most enjoyable stay at hotel Ballard! We loved the area. Gym amazing and Stoneburner excellent! - Character and authenticity Nothing
- Laura (9/5): - Bed and pillows!
- Rachel (10/5): - The building and architecture Parking garage
- Lydia (10/5): 10/10 would stay again - Excellent location, comfortable and clean room, and awesome gym Only complaint I can think of is the toilet paper in the bathroom is rough 😆
- Rachelle D. Runnels (7/5): Pretty but not worth it for all of the headaches in the details. - Location was optimal for those seeking variety in their leisure. Room was pretty. Parking was ridiculous, failure to accommodate guests regarding planning for Sunday farmer's market and their check out was unacceptable, and staff was rigid in pleasing simple guest requests. No excuse for the additional amenity fees for courtyard suite stays. Children should not be allowed in 5th floor room bookings.
- Cheryl (9/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - Beautiful decor, very comfortable mattress, very clean, friendly personnel, great location in Ballard area
- Eva (10/5): -
- Steve (7/5): -
- Pamela (10/5): Excellent overnight stay! - Extremely comfortable bed! That we only stayed 1 night.

- serrano (10/5): It was very pleasant. The room was fabulous along with the location convenient to everything. - There were no meals at the hotel. Everything was great.

- Jim & Alisha (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Ballard and look forward to staying again sometime soon. - the location was excellent and the room exceeded our expectations. It was clean and updated. Our view was amazing and the ongoing street market below was an added bonus! The covered parking did not support our vehicle (overhead clearance too low) so unfortunately we had to park at another location further away and not covered. However, not the fault of the Hotel Ballard, we should have checked on this prior to arrival as we could have chosen a different vehicle to take to this venue.
- Lorraine (10/5): - Amazing location, great facilities
- Sandra (9/5): -
- Jose (9/5): Tranquilo - Muy bien
- Vanessa (10/5): Perfect stay. Exceeded my expectations. - Location, style, staff and Olympic Gym. Loved everything.

- James (10/5): A wonderful hotel in a wonderful neighborhood - The location is excellent, literally in the heart of the historic Ballard with all the little restaurants and shops. It's fun to walk around. The decor of the hotel is elegant without being pretentious. We loved the attention to detail, the colors, and fixtures. Our room was very comfortable. The lobby decorations for Christmas and the fireplace were perfect. Nothing.
- DebbieJo (10/5): -
- pamela (10/5): Great place for a Ballard stay - Convenient to Swedish Ballard hospital Everything is good -would have been nice if the restaurant wasn't closed on Monday, but found a fun restaurant across the street.

- Amy (9/5): Hotel Ballard: "I could live here." - (The title is what my spouse said after the first night.) We selected the Hotel Ballard as we were coming from out of town to be part of a wedding on the rooftop pavilion, and were pleased with what a wonderful hotel it is. Staff are professional and friendly. Didn't have to wait long for the elevator. In the room, the climate control, wifi, and plumbing all work perfectly. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Pretty quiet, not a lot of noise transfer from other rooms, the hallway, or the street. The location is close to unique shopping and dining. In our room, the closet space for hanging items was limited due to the amenities also inside the closet (bathrobes, iron/ironing board, wall safe). Probably wouldn't normally be an issue, but we were traveling with wedding clothes and had wet outerwear from the rain. (btw they offer complimentary umbrellas for use during your stay)
- Magali (8/5): -
- pamela (10/5): Great place to stay for Swedish surgery - Convenient and stylish Na
- Emily (9/5): -
- Claudia (9/5): -
- Donlin (5/5): besides the lack of sleep because of noise, all was ok - location, super loud ventilation system that couldn’t be turned off
- Serge (9/5): Lovely place, quaint yet accessible and close to both entertainment and nature - Staff was friendly and accomodating of requests despite the fact that the hotel was fully booked. N/A
- James (10/5): -
- Ronie (10/5): - The bedroom was excellent and the bed was one of the most comfortable ever. In fact I asked the desk about the sheets and pillows.
- Lynda (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice cosy hotel, great location, staff friendly and helpful.
- Ryan (8/5): - Nice staff, clean room
- Elvira (3/5): - The gym in the hotel is awesome as you can use the community gym. The hotel had construction ongoing that started early in the morning. The construction caused loud noise. Despite this there was no rebate. Instead a coupon for a massage was offered. That is an offer that many guests will not use, and therewith the hotel saves money. A rebate would have been appropriate.
The rooms towards the street are noisy in that there are restaurants and bars that run until midnight.
The value for money was not ok, given that there was so much construction noise.
- Brittany (4/5): - Disappointing stay. Lack of hot water, light bulbs burned out, charge for parking (not mentioned at check in), dirt along the baseboards
Phoned to ask about extra charges-
25 minutes on hold. Unfriendly response when I mentioned this wait time. This hotel charges high end rates (almost $400 a night) - I would encourage it to try harder. I would mention this is my actual first bad review to any hotel. So to illicit this response - I would say it wasn’t a good one.
- Melisa (7/5): It worked out fine, bed was very comfortable, room cleaning was great, location is wonderful, staff is very accommodatin - Location No room service, no help with bags and luggage carts very difficult to steer, restaurant not open everyday, drinks at restaurant insanely expensive, party room not sound insulated.
- Lonnie (10/5): -
- Jackson (10/5): - Great
- Carrie (6/5): - Seems like this room needs some service fixing some things. The handle in the fridge broke, the showerhead hose is pinched and the showerhead won’t stay up.
- Fedora (5/5): Poor sleep 2/3 nights of wedding noise. Request for price adjustment denied. No compensation - Location Noise from wedding venue above my room despite my request for a quiet room. 2/3 nights
- Karen (8/5): - The location was great for visiting Ballard and the nearby area, but it was far from activities in downtown Seattle. The room was very nice. The carpet in our room had big stains. Housekeeping did not come until late afternoon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Would stay here again - Beautiful hotel and great location. Approximately 3 miles to the port, in walking distance of restaurants and shops. Really enjoyed our stay.
- Maria (9/5): Beautiful hotel and location in Ballard - Great location, beautiful hotel. Farmers Market in front of hotel. What a treat! Wish I could stay longer! One elevator - not a big deal however many wedding parties there when I stayed so we took shifts on going up.
- Dan (9/5): -
- Brittany (10/5): - Beautiful, clean hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooftop area is beautiful.
- ann (10/5): - Well located. Staff is slim but friendly.
- JANET (10/5): - Great hospitality provided by the front desk staff.
Love the location!
- Graybill (10/5): -
- Rivin (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ballard & would stay there again. - Beautiful. Lovely spacious room with plenty of drawer & closet space & a little balcony overlooking the canal. No breakfast available on site and hard to find a local café with more than just some baked goods and coffee — no omelets in sight.
- Heather (10/5): - Hotel is nice and in a great area. The gym is beyond legit
- Caroline (9/5): -
- Emily (7/5): Loved the neighborhood but wish the bed had been softer. - Thé location, thé design, thé quiet The bed wasn’t comfortable
- Megan (4/5): - The hotel has a rigid cancellation policy, and their internal policy is not aligned with what is provided via Expedia. The hotel’s policy is 72 hour cancellation notice by 4pm, where Expedia says by 6pm. I inquired with the hotel on this discrepancy and provided documentation but NO ONE got back to me. The staff i did speak to on the phone were very rude and patronizing, did not offer to help or investigate policy discrepancy.
- Jody (8/5): - Love the rooms , decor and location. 2nd time we have reserved a rooftop room. On both occassions we were not told there was a wedding happening and so we were not able to enjoy the rooftop views. For the price of the rooms, I feel we have been made aware of this.
Front desk staff seemed lazy- no TP in main floor bathroom . But hotel is in an excellent location hotel is unique and beautiful.
- Elizabeth (8/5): An interesting location but not the best choice for visitors to Seattle - Very comfortable
Coffee water etc readily available Rather a long way from Seattle centre
Local restaurants not great
- Kathleen (10/5): Beautiful hotel conveniently located in Ballard. - Room is beautifully done. The bed and bedding were excellent. Late checkout is always nice, but it wasn't available.
- Dana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmela (4/5): It was ok. If I had other choices i would’ve stayed in another hote. - It was really close to my wedding venue. The original receptionist I talked to was kinda snooty. I was asking general questions as I was having my wedding that weekend and she was giving me attitude. But the receptionists when we were actually there was nice! If only I could split this review to have one favorable and one not.
Also it was not clean. There was a toenail inside the covers of our bed. We didn’t complain cos it was midnight and we were tired. But gross.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Over-priced, poor management, never again - There were many problems at this hotel, and it is over-priced compared with hotels closer to downtown. Ballard is a fun area, but I would not stay at this hotel. No coffee shop or restaurant at the property. If you are up early, no luck. You have to wait until breakfast places in the neighborhood open around 7:30. "The room with patio" is facing an event space on the patio -- people can look into your windows and the glass door. I had to keep the curtains closed while it's light outside because strangers were walking by outside. I had reservation issues with the hotel. They charged me directly to my credit card without my authorization. I asked for refund. I gave my email so that "they will get back to me." They never did in spite of repeated request from me. I had to go through the dispute process with the credit card company.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Jenny (9/5): Beautiful Ballard hotel! - Amazingly beautiful room, and bring workout wear because the gym facility is first-rate! Street noise. Our room was facing a couple pubs, restaurants, farmer's market- which is great for food selection. Not so much for peace and quiet. They have a loud fan which helps.
- Victor (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay. Nice area, lots of bars of restaurants
- Alesia (10/5): - This Hotel Ballard, is right where I want to be.
- Brenda (10/5): Fun market outside - Location Could have a breakfast offered
- Dominic (10/5): We had a great time and even managed both yoga and gym sessions on each day of our stay in the wonderful and enormous gy - A quirky boutique hotel in an up and coming location within an old industrial and fishing community in the suburbs of Seattle. Initially the location, it be lefts us worrying about our security but once we found the hotel all was well. Fabulous local community and lots to see and do. Easy bus ride to downtown Seattle and Pike Street Market.
- Debi (10/5): Great - Great place, very up to date and many places within walking distance
- Robin (9/5): Beautiful hotel right in the middle of Ballard - The room was nice and large. Especially the bathroom! The robes could be plusher.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A beautiful European gem in prime location! - Beautiful European vibes in the heart of Ballard! Feels luxurious & special. Several delicious eateries steps away, including Stoneburner, Sabine, San Fermo, Situ Tacos, & more. Can’t beat the walkable location. Very quiet in room, despite the street facing balcony (sooo Parisian!). We were on 4th floor, so we could hear music event in 5th floor Pavilion, but it was over by 10pm, & we didn’t mind the fun atmosphere of live music. Bed & linens are incredibly comfortable. Love the robes. Bathroom is high quality with separate toilet room, which is always appreciated! Unfortunately, no room service; would be so cool if they partnered with Stoneburner for that! Would love if the fresh coffee was available all day in the lobby. Definitely a beautiful spot for anyone!!
- Jones (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melanie (3/5): Shockingly poor hospitality and management. - Location is great. Awful customer service. They were hosting two weddings over the weekend, our room was situated beneath the roof pavilion where the weddings were taking place. The noise was unbearable to the point the ceiling was vibrating with people stomping, running, moving furniture, etc from 4pm to midnight. Front desk could not move us to another room or offer any other solution, literally offered nothing to make up for the noise/disruption/lack of sleep, we were told to call the manager. Manager did not answer their phone the whole weekend. Still have not heard anything back from them and no resolution to the uncomfortable stay we had.
- X5699CXjenniferd (10/5): Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Ballard - We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ballard! The location is absolutely superb—right in the heart of the neighborhood, with shops, restaurants, and the Sunday farmers market just steps away. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable—everyone was incredibly helpful and welcoming.
Don’t miss the Pavilion on the fifth floor—it’s a hidden gem with a beautiful view, and it’s especially fun to watch the Sunday farmers market being set up from above. Hotel Ballard truly offers a unique and relaxing experience in one of Seattle’s best neighborhoods. Highly recommend!
- Laura (10/5): - Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ballard !! The staff was amazing and couldn’t be nicer !!! Great neighborhood, can’t say enough about this hotel !
- Jain (7/5): Sufficient. Glad we only stayed there one night. The best part totally was the location. - Location. The hotel has character. No one to help with luggage. Took a long time for someone to answer the phone when needed help. Bathroom lights pictures were dusty. Only one chair in the room need more seating.
- Kai (9/5): Great local hotel in heart of Ballard, WA - Beautiful rooms and great location. Paid parking
- Jeanne (8/5): Very good - location was perfect they advertise a restaurant and rooftop bar but neither was open during our stay.
- Heather (10/5): - We adore the property, the location and staff. We would however love a later checkout option, even if we had to pay for it. We totally understand, though that Ballard is a boutique, small hotel, and it may not make sense. But still it’s on our wish list.
- Mary (7/5): It should have been an ideal room, but the cost of the room without a working tv or access to a manager made iit a disap - Walkable to restaurants, bars, and the locks The tv remote didn’t work because they are solar charged and not charging properly in the rooms.
I had to call the front desk twice. They changed the remote with another one which didn’t work. Then they tried charging it with a plug which didn’t work. They gave me the manager’s business card to call which I did but only could leave a message. The manager never called me back. The room cost about $317 and I was never compensated or contacted back to address this issue which is very frustrating!
