• Jeffrey (2/5): - We did not get the room we booked. One of the mattresses in our room was 5 inches thick and very hard. I found a drug paraphernalia bag with crack or meth, glass pipes etc. in the chest of drawers. We brought the bag to the front desk for them to deal with and to not be accused of drug possession and use leading to legal troubles. Someone's personal items were still in closet and dressing table and are still there now as I write this. The tv remote had to be replaced. There was no remote for the climate control. Our check in host worked very hard and was able to get the remotes for us and in woorking order. She was very pleasant and accommodating. We had to go into the stairwell to use internet from one of the other rooms on our floor. We were patient the next day hoping the hotel would fix things for us thinking it was busy because it's the weekend. They did not. Sunday morning we asked to be moved to the room we booked but they declined. There are 3 rooms per floor and 8 floors in Hanoi Shining Hotel. We were informed by another host 1 room on each floor was like ours. They could not change our room because they were booked by someone else. We watched many guests check out on Sunday and we are to check out on Tuesday (4 nights total). Our substandard room was not cleaned after our first night. The receptionist informed us that they did not have a key because the tenant of our room was in south Vietnam on business.and they did not have another. The cleaner a key today.

• Marmalade2004 (2/5): Awful hotel even for 1 night. - Absolutely awful hotel, one of the worst I have ever stayed in. all the money is spent on reception leaving the rooms in a terrible condition. Our room was advertised as having a window, the window looked into the hallway. The bedding had bog bones and kennels on it, it was dog bedding. the shower is over the toilet and leaks so it drips on you when you use the toilet. The bathroom stunk of raw sewage. Every cupboard had padlocks on and signs saying 'staff steal, don't leave belongings'. We stayed for 1 night as we had an early flight to catch, worse idea ever. Bin bags littered the outside entrance. They had a live band directly under the rooms that played all night and into the early hours so nobody slept, apparently this is on every night. The room was dirty, bedding had blood on it as well as dirt. Bathroom was rotten. Stay somewhere else!

• theinminl (2/5): Do not stay unsafe hotel - I do not recommend this hotel to stay. I stayed there from 20 to 25 March 2024. I had the worst experience, nearly 1000 USD was stolen in the hotel room when I went out downtown. I informed the receptionist but the receptionist didn't take action on this problem. The next day on 26 March, she replied that their staff did not take anything from the hotel room. I asked her, to inform this problem to their Manager via phone and also Facebook. Later, even though I phoned the next day, they did not reply anything. This was terrible for me and also surprised by their actions on this. That is why I do not recommend staying in this hotel. No responsibility, No Customer Service.

• J4939HJmichaelp (6/5): Typical business style hotel - I slept here for one night on the final leg of a 14-day self-driving road trip. I chose this neighborhood because I wanted to stay close to the airport and the drop-off point for my rental car. There are a number of guest houses in the area but none looked appealing. After driving around the area I settled on this hotel mostly because it had some parking. This is what I would call a business style hotel. Although the rooms were clean and well-appointed, they are very small and are really only suitable for a one night stay. The least expensive rooms don't have windows. As I prefer some natural light, I chose a more expensive room with a window at a walk-in rate of $30 USD. On a more positive note: Street 113, to the north of the hotel is chock-full of authentic Chinese restaurants. I felt as if I was in Yunnan. Not only was there delicious food but ice-cold Chinese beer. I would gladly stay in this neighborhood just to eat my way up Street 113.

• 168gany (6/5): Affordable place to stay with aircraft-spotting opportunities - This place is affordable to stay but deposit is required on-line or in advance. Breakfast is limited and not nutritious but tolerable. There are aircraft-spotting opportunities in the rooms at the front. The hotel said it is possible to see aircraft at the top level. Does it mean its rooftop balcony is now opened for aircraft-spotters? The hotel has simple medical aid for medical tourists. it has complimentary one-way shuttle van or tuk tuk transfer to the airport. Although it officially states request for transfer must be conveyed to the concierge one to two hours before departure, 30 minutes before departure from the hotel is allowed if there is no transfer request from other guests.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Don't be tricked by the nice photos. - Except for the fact that it is close to the airport, I don't find anything good to this hotel. I travel a lot and stay at a lot of hotels, but this is the first time that I stayed at a hotel without a window. The floor and walls were all bare concrete surface, so it was as if I had been locked up in a cell.

• margknow1 (2/5): Don’t bother - Very noisy hotel, the traffic never stops. If you stay ask for a room at the back. Stayed NYE, restaurant shut for a staff party. Following morning, cold fried eggs and bitter strong coffee made with condensed milk. Better to find a hotel a bit further away as this is not worth the money.
• KK (4/5): - Only positive thing is the proximity to the airport. Loud pet birds in the lobby, old and very worn rooms, no hand soap, little to no toilet paper, rock hard bed and a weird light in the top center of the room that wouldn’t turn off. Also extremely noisy at night.

• b0ng0e (2/5): Worn out inside and out. - The shower and toilet are together so you walk through water when ever you enter the bathroom. They do have small flatscreen TVs but unfortunately they don't have any TV channels LOL just a blank screen. The room looks like it has not been painted in a few decades and I bet that is when the linens with holes in them were last updated.

• Wsea3h (8/5): Ok for one night - Booked a Superior Single for 2 people at 21 USD at last minute with trip.com. If you book early, price is a lot lower than that. The small room is dark even with all lights on, has a glass window opened to a corridor in front of other rooms. Bathroom is small and basic with toiletries. It has drainage smell so had to turn on the noisy ventilator all night. Good air-con. Bed cover is old. Room has a water boiler and 2 free water bottles. I didn't buy breakfast and didn't eat in their restaurant. Thanks for sending us for free to the airport. If you need that service, inform them when you check in. They carried our luggage through the restaurant to the new car which was parked at the back of the hotel. Took only 5 minutes. The driver was happy receiving the tip. When I checked in, the girl was friendly. Didn't have any problem during my stay. There's a street on the left of hotel where many Chinese restaurants can be seen. They speak Mandarin and price is quoted in USD. Noodle 2.5 USD. We ate breakfast before 6am at an outdoor Cambodian restaurant which might be most popular there, has menu in English, staff in uniform. Rice with grilled pork & fried eggs cost only 5,000 Riel and tasted very good. I posted 2 photos with this review. On that street we saw 3 other hotels too. We walked on the main street and nearly reached the airport at night. Saw shops and air-con restaurants on the way including a Japanese restaurant. Several street vendors too. No worry about foods if you stay here. We arrived by Bus Line 3 just 1,500 Riel per ticket. We went down at the 3rd stop from airport bus stop (don't get off at airport stop, quite far to walk to hotel). If you want to visit a local market called Chom Chao not far from hotel, take Bus Line 3. Download Stops Near Me App on your phone so you know where the bus is going to. It works offline too.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay - Worst experience. Rooms look nothing like pictures. When we got our room, it reeked of smoke. This is suppose to be a smoke free hotel. So we requested another room. When we got that room, there were cockroaches everywhere. So we declined that room too. Then they said they will upgrade our room at no extra charge. That room just dirty and we just decided not to stay at that hotel. It got 3 stars, but should be 1 star
• lalaveigh (2/5): Avoid this place - this is another one of the places where they post fake pictures of the rooms, I booked it specifically because I wanted a room with a bathtub, got there no bathtub. I went downstairs to talk to the airhead at reception but she first said it was not the room I paid for, I showed her the room and features of my room she said "oh none of the rooms in the hotel have a bathtub" and admitted that they lie about it. The room was so tiny and bathroom had pee stains on toilet seat. I wanted to order room service they said the restaurant was closed. Then in the middle of the night they started karaoke, it sounded close enough that one would assume its somewhere in the hotel. I had an early flight in the morning and that did not allow me to get any rest. Please do not support establishments that lie to get customers, it is really close to the hotel but if you can stay elsewhere, it really isn't difficult to get from downtown Phnom penh to the airport.
• 807georginas (2/5): Horrible hotel. IT IS NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL! - Genuinely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. When we arrived there was a prevalent feeling of being unwelcome. Outside sat men sitting on bikes staring at you as you entered the hotel. Reception and the luggage boy were so unfriendly. Nothing was explained to us at reception nor when we finally got to our room. Luggage boy took three attempts to find our room. We were 210. Even I read the sign and knew but didn’t want to be impolite. Again, nothing was explained eg. dinner, breakfast times. He proceeded to lay a towel on the floor outside the bathroom along with flip flops and turned the tv on really loud, then left. We stood there during this in complete silence as we watched. Entered the bathroom to realise the flip flops were there as there were leakages on the floor. Toilet seat was wet. Walls were stained, the whole room smelt of smoke. Not so much fresh or stale, just this constant lingering smell, including the bed covers. When it came to bedtime the noise was ridiculous.. name any noise, you could hear it! People screaming, babies crying, whistling outside, cars hooting. Then the morning came. 7.30 there was this ridiculously strong smell which one can only describe as burnt rubber?? No clue what or why, no one acknowledged this? We strolled to breakfast assuming this was included, unbeknown it was not. Honestly I’d rather have gone without. We thought it be wise to eat as we had a five hour car ride to our next location. So we got given menus of I don’t know what. The only familiar choices were eggs benedict and omelette. It arrived, I didn’t get my hopes up but come on, the toast was soft and cold and the eggs were freezing! The complimentary tea was I don’t know what, tasted revolting. Then we strolled out whilst all the staff crowded round chatting and laughing and generally being unprofessional surrounding the entrance. Another walked round killing bugs with a fly squatter WHILST WE TRIED TO EAT! We were told we had to pay? So this led to a big confusion. We had to pay six dollars but no one explained this was immediate so we went to sign the bill where the male and female staff member raised their voice saying “no no” so we figured out it had to be immediate. We had to walk to reception to pay. Again, very unwelcoming staff. This was a female staff member (the one that checked us in was male). She wouldn’t even give us eye contact and didn’t say thank you. Just paid without speaking and remained dismissive. When exiting the room there was a room attendant standing outside who didn’t acknowledge us and stared straight through us. As we wheeled our luggage through gathering everything, again no hello or thank you just a continued stare standing there. Check out was just awkward. Handed back the room key to be told “they are checking the room” ...as if any more damage could be done. So we just stood there like lemons waiting to then be told “it’s fine”. The receptionist asked for transfer to airport but we explained we weren’t going there which took a couple attempts for her to understand. I wouldn’t recommended putting any trust in the staff to book anything for you. Genuinely one of the worst, IF NOT, THE WORST HOTEL I’ve ever stayed. Yes it’s a budget hotel which is fair enough but minus the general state and condition of the hotel (apart from the lobby which is deceiving upon arrival) the staff and general customer service skills and demeanor was appalling and shameful as well. Please don’t waste your money. In fact, on our next return, (after our next location) we had booked this hotel again just for the night, and it was that bad we cancelled it no more than an hour upon our arrival. You have been warned.

• Journey473466 (2/5): Worst ever experience - This is the worst experience ever I had in all of my trips. The receptionist was very bad attitude, we feedback about the room was smelly and dirty but he said: " The room that you booked is the cheapest rate, is like this." The room was dark, smelled bad(cigarette), dirty which I felt like paying USD$30 for staying in a jail. The wifi was not available and created a lot of inconvenience to us. Morning time, we heard people screaming and yelling and the customer just smoked at the walk hall and the smoke went inside to our room..is really terrible! Lobby you will see some customers lying on the sofa with barefoot. The only good about this hotel is it near to Phnom Penh airport which I do not appreciate at all due to all these.

Did the check in process which was extremely long and I was the only one checking in. Get to the room, dirty shoes still in the room. Smelt like the room had not been used in years. Shower had no hot water. Climb into bed, see blood stains, contact reception, no English so was offered no help. I pulled all the sheets and stuff off. Slept direct on mattress. Was hard as a rock. I might as well of stayed on the road. Shocking
• Wanderlustsimone (10/5): Perfect 👌 - Booked through Agoda. Really cheap ($15-$16) for the night for 2 people. Right near the airport. Free hotel shuttle to the airport. Lovely accommodating staff, they met us outside with an umbrella as we fumbled out of our tuk tuk after being on a local bus for 6 hours which was nice, they helped carry our luggage, they hold doors open for us. Everyone had a smile to offer. We ate here, although the dining experience itself is not what we are used to, the food was really great. The room was spacious and bright even though we didn't have a window. Really cool, finally an air con that does its job to the fullest! Warm water for showers. Everything was really clean. Lovely lighting in the rooms (rm 206 if you're curious). All in all I was apprehensive before arriving but pleasantly surprised and had a nice stay here before my flight. Highly recommended.👍
• christys791 (4/5): Not the best place - The only perks of this hotel is location being that its nearby the airport. The lobby is nice. The rooms are decent size but the beds are hard. The room is dark, our window view was covered half way and the other half was looking into a garage. The lights dim on there own from bright to really dark constantly. Kinda creepy. The ACdoesn't function properly, only gets cool around 10pm. They offered a fan which we took bc we were sweating just laying in the room. For $50/per night, i expected way more. My suggestion is to stay closer into the main city, better quality hotels for your $

• Curtis (8/5): - We selected this hotel as we had an early flight. The hotel and room were good but there was constant noise in the hallway with people coming and going. If you are a light sleeper than this may not be the place for you. If you arent then it will be fine for a night.

• Joseph (10/5): You Eng - Great food and staff - The service staff in the restaurant need training to improve their attentiveness. Service staff in the hotel, like the front office were excellent. The food in the restaurant was incredible, very quick to serve and impeccable dishes! Wifi signal was patchy and dropped out constantly.
• Nate (6/5): Good location for airport but staff a bit abrupt - The lobby and restaurant of the hotel are modern and clean. The room was small and dated and could have been cleaner. Staff seem a bit moody and can be quite abrupt when they speak with you. The hotel is in a great location for the airport and the free shuttle bus is great. A good hotel if you need a one night stay before catching an early flight but probably not where you want to spend all your holiday.

• forbgabor (6/5): Short stay !! - Was you basic Asian Hotel. Staff were friendly and always had a smile. Lobby was beautiful. Rooms were worn, stains on the walls ect. But good for one night waiting to fly home. Bonus was the airport shuttle. No driver so they put us in a tuk-tuk and got us there on time
• Jessica (6/5): Convenient for Going to the Airport - The hotel is located close by the airport, so that was why I booked it. The room had no windows and the walls had many dirt spots. The bed was small and overall the room did not look like the pictures. However, I was just here one night and it was a cheap price, so it was manageable.

• Kelsey (6/5): good airport hotel for a night - Our flight arrived at 11pm so we booked just a night here to crash. It was super easy to walk from the airport to the hotel, they have a giant sign. Room had a/c and a clean bed/bathroom, which was all we needed.
• DANIEL (8/5): You Eng Hotel - I needed a hotel in the vicinity of the airport terminal and it delivered on this point. Beware there are rooms with no windows. I spent one night in one of them before being moved to another room. Very hot outside the rooms on 4th floor but aircon inside the room. Restaurant inside the hotel and dining options around the hotel. Bus stop (line number 3) just outside the hotel which connects with downtown for 1500 riels in about 45min (depends on traffic). Fast and free wifi.
• AGP111 (2/5): WORST PLACE EVER!!! - WORST PLACE EVER!!! We chose this Hotel beacuse its close to the Airport and we had an early flight. From the Fotos it didn't look too bad, some comments even seemed positive. When we got there the whole area around the Hotel looked allready very seedy. DArk, polluted Dirty, Bars with Prostitutes waiting outside for customers etc. Of course this is not the Hotels fault, but wasnt inviting to go out for a walk at night and have some dinner somewhere else...Entrance was fine, chinese trash style, but it looked clean and spacious. BUT our room was the worst I have ever seen in all my travelling years. It's meant to be a 3 Star Hotel, not cheap dorm in a Hostel. First of all, there is NO WINDOW in the room, makes you feel absolutely claustrophobic and hoping, that there isn't a fire in that building! Stains from god knows where, on those horrible unpainted walls....Mould on the walls and in the corner of the rooms, electricity cables coming out from behind the bed wall. From previous comments I read, to not touch the light knobs, some ppl got electric shocks. So we had one light on all night long. Couldn't breath in this room, bed smellt horrible, the overall feeling was incredibly discomforting! So we decided at 1am to ask the guy at Reception for another room. He just ignored us, hence went to sleep on the sofas in the lobby. Staff came up to us and said it wasn't aloud to sleep on the sofa, I told them unless I get a room with a window i won't move..!! And not to forget to mention, we also had dinner at the Chinese Restaurant , where the food is tremendously overpriced and you get some people singing Karaoke all the time ,whilst you are trying to eat! We ended up going to the airport early, paying the TUK TUK ourselves and waited for 4 hours in the BLue Pumpink at the International Airport... It was way more comfortable then in that Hotel. I would NEVER EVER go back there!!!

• 104wimp (2/5): Terrible service - The rooms are clean and it’s close to the airport. I’m not sure about the WiFi as we asked and never got an answer... the staff are trying their best to be be professional but they have little to no experience in customer service. It’s like they’re unprofessional but not intentional . When asked where we could get a bite to eat at 12 at night, they just shrugged their shoulders. When asked where in this town we could get some food... they had no idea. For the room size and amenities, you can get something better for less the price. Not worth the $17 dollars ! Find a better place .
• Verified traveler (6/5): Ok hotelli lentokentän vieressä - Kävimme huoneessa vain nukkumassa päivän koska lentomme lähti myöhään illalla ja edellisestä hotellista piti kirjautua ulos jo klo 11. Ihan ok tähän tarkoitukseen, suihkusta tuli vain kylmää vettä ja sänky oli kova. Huone oli todella pieni. Hotellia ympäröivä alue oli yllättävän kiva, läheltä löytyi myös ruokapaikkoja vaikka hotelli oli ihan kiinni lentolentässä. Huone oli hiljainen ja hotellista pääsi ilmaisella kuljetuksella lentokentälle 7-19 välillä, tästä piti ilmoittaa vain tuntia ennen, vaikka hotelli näyttää olevan ihan kävelyetäisyydellä terminaalista, niin suosittelen silti kyydillä menemistä.

• Mark (4/5): Handy for airport - This is a handy hotel to stay in if you have an early flight from Phnom Penh airport - it's about a two minute tuk-tuk ride, or even a walk if you're willing to take a chance with the busy roads. I wouldn't recommend staying more than one night, however, as the rooms are pretty dirty and have the occasional cockroach.
• Louise (6/5): Hardest bed I’ve ever slept on - The reception staff aren’t very friendly and unhelpful when we asked for a map. The bed was so hard I barely slept. It is handy for the airport tho and they offer free shuttle.

• tomX7031IK (4/5): windowless room... - incredible lobby...lux...the rooms are nowhere near that feel....more like a motel 6....just no window in the room. asked for pickup at airport...driver do not show....front desk is helpful though. The restaurant is the chinese banquet style...and very, very high prices. This place is confusing as to what it really is...or wants to be...if you wants to hang out in the lobby...fine...otherwise..you will sleep in a windowless room.

• Alistair (8/5): Could do better! - The bed was clean and well presented. The room however was tired and shabby. I don’t know if most guests are like me, just need somewhere to stay before an early morning flight, but even so, it was t a good feeling. There was a restaurant which was one of the reasons I stayed there, I’d just come down from Battambang and wanted to be fed and watered. Unfortunately there was a band playing in the restaurant that were so loud I wasn’t even going to consider entering that room. The hotel generally looks ok, but once in my room, no, not good enough.
• ey_unh (8/5): Very helpful staff - The staff is really helpful and the room is good. It is very close to the airport and there is free shuttle service to the airport. Furthermore I had forgotten a package in another hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful to get this to the hotel.
• BrandonI936 (8/5): Good - I just stayed one night because I needed to catch a flight early the next morning. The hotel is conveniently located next to the airport. They offer breakfast for cheap but not free. They do have a free airport shuttle for your flight though.
• Terry (8/5): Lots of road construction - The hotel itself is nice, but the road construction makes it impossible to do any walking around the neighbourhood. It is an excellent place to stay if you have an early morning flight. It has a restaurant which has a menu not designed for the lone guest,but, seemingly, larger gatherings. Chinese food fair. Good though, just not for one person.

• Patryk (6/5): Hotel for one night stay - A hotel very close to the airport, only 14-15min walk however there is no path, and you will not enjoy the way... Tuk tuk could take you there for 2$. Restaurant serves all sorts of weird Chinese food. I believe that for most of the westerners it will not be enjoyable. There is nothing around to have a better dinner. Overall this hotel offers a very cheap overnight stay close to the airport, and if you need only this then we would recommend it.
