Admirar los detalles de esta casona colonial es una experiencia en sí misma. Nos alojamos en familia ocupando 4 de sus 12 habitaciones y todos coincidimos: el confort es impecable. Camas, almohadas y lencería de alta calidad que garantizan un descanso placentero. Lo mejor, sin duda, es el servicio al huésped. Nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos en todo momento. Mención especial para Liz, Jorge y Edgar, quienes demuestran una vocación de servicio admirable; su atención marca la diferencia. Puntos a mejorar para la excelencia: Limpieza de habitaciones: Notamos que el tendido de camas fue algo superficial algunos días, encontrando restos de arena del día anterior. Un poco más de detalle en esto elevaría la experiencia. Mantenimiento de áreas comunes: Las piscinas son ideales para relajarse, pero en la del roof falta limpieza recurrente en los bordes debido a las palomas. Es un detalle fácil de solucionar que mejoraría mucho la higiene visual.

Todo de lo que estaba en manos del personal del hotel estuvo perfecto. Desafortunadamente fuimos un fin de semana en el que la ciudad tenía eventos por todo lado, así que el ruido fue grade. Stephanie (10/5): Elegant hotel and great location - Everything about this hotel was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and accommodating; providing recommendations for restaurants etc. The facilities were very clean and my room was much larger than expected. I had plenty of room. They offer a made to order breakfast from a menu of items, so there were plenty of options available. They also offer shampoo and conditioner if needed. The towels had a nice lemon scent (they even offered bathrobes). The room had a small closet with an iron and safe. They offer two small bottles of water and coconut cookies when checking in. This hotel was definitely one of the most upscale I’ve stayed in for awhile (for that price point - even considering I was traveling in Colombia). You could even order lunch or dinner from them if needed and if you are checking out early before breakfast they can offer you a to-go box. On my checkout day, they were more than happy to accommodate me by allowing me to keep my belongings in the room for awhile. They were happy to store my luggage if needed as well. Lastly, the location can’t be beat. One block to the beach and ti Bolivar park as well as the pedestrian street leading to Parque de Novios. For the most part it was quiet given its location. They have a rooftop for a view (be prepared to climb stairs) Everything was good. The main pool is in an awkward spot- right as you walk into the hotel and in front of the tables where people may be eating breakfast, etc. There is another more private pool upstairs but when I went up to check it out it seemed one couple had taken it over as their private space so…? If you have any kind of mobility problems you should definitely let them know, as only a few rooms are on the ground floor and the rest are upstairs (straight or spiral staircase could be challenging with lots of luggage). While the location was good and generally safe area, the street to go to the beach , pedestrian street or bolivar park was slightly sketchy and not overly well lit (the police station is right there though - going to the beach) but I definitely walked faster at night.

When you check in, they give you a tour of the hotel like it’s a museum (and it kind of is).Several strange pools that all seem like they have limited utility— one is right in the front lobby, and one on the upper deck is tiny. Should be charming, but kind of worn around the edges. Large room. Lots of stairs, they did connect us to a great tour guide for Minca, and they serve a nice breakfast.

Janet (10/5): Comfortable hotel in Santa Marta - The small hotel was in a great location near the ocean and the historic center. It was very comfortable and quiet. The room was nicely decorated, the bed comfortable, & the room very quiet. We spent time on the lovely rooftop cooling off in the small pool. Highly recommended.

The room was really lovely and clean. I loved the decor and extra touches. It is very well located for the busy surrounding streets filled with restaurants and bars. The downstairs pool lacks privacy and is for appearance only I would say. There is a small pool on the top floor which was more private if you were alone! The stairs would be a challenge for anyone with older knees!

The food at the restaurant could be better, not much choices for breakfast and a limited menu for dinner. lThey did not have whole wheat or multi grain bread. The toasts were barely hot but not toasted. The hotel lobby is nice but the hotel was in poor condition and needs major maintenance. The jaccuzzy was not cleaned, an very old model and the water was cold. The hotel as a small pool in the lobby in the middle of the restaurant (mainly for decoration) with a fountain with cold water and another pool on the 2 floor which about 2 by 3meters, you can only stand, you can't swim. The room we had was spacious but it only had one chair to sit on, the matress was soft and there was limited space for stroring clothes.

Colin (10/5): Relax in a graceful and comfortable hotel. - The staff were excellent - very friendly and attentive while keeping a low profile. Once you go through the gates into Don Bepe it feels very relaxing it feels like being at home.

I say hotel but from the moment I walked through the entrance I felt like I was in a home, and I was treated like extended family. It’s a beautiful colonial building that has retained much of its original features but it’s been modernised so tastefully. It’s impossible not to love this place. Delicious food and LuisFelipe and all the staff were the most charming and friendly, I really didn’t want to leave.

The tap water was not drinkable but the hotel did not provide filtered water- we had to purchase, which seemed strange for a hotel of this calibre.
Aleksandra (7/5): Good - Interesting design of the place with high ceilings. - the hotel is pretty outdated - no separation between the bathroom and the room , there is absolutely no privacy - when we stayed at this hotel we were almost the only guests. They placed us in the room next to the reception / kitchen / pool area . We were woken up at 6:30 am sharp every day by the kitchen staff staff. Would have been great if they could upgrade us to a better room with more privacy while the hotel was empty. I asked receptionist during the check in if the room is sound proof and she told me yes but it clearly was not. - every time we exited the room multiple staff members stared at us . Same thing during the breakfast. I guess it was due to the fact that they have a lot of staff and at the time we stayed we were the only ones there , but it was very weird. They were all friendly though. - we were not able to use the pool due to the staff standing around it at all times. We used the small pool on the roof and it was OK Overall , this hotel didn’t feel like a 5- star hotel

Clare (10/5): Lovely luxurious stay - We originally intended to stay here one night as a stop over after a 4.5 bus journey from Cartagena. We extended by another night as we loved it so much. Beautiful hacienda, lovingly restored with a great back story! Traditional decor, wonderful service,three different pool/jacuzzi areas, a spa and delicious breakfast. It’s super quiet here as well and very close to the promenade. Also we were upgraded on our second night to the Presidential suite which is superb. Nada
John (10/5): - This was by far the best hotel I have stayed in,in Colombia and many other countries by a long shot. The place is absolutely stunning. The room was large and very comfortable. One of my favorites was the rainfall shower! The breakfast, included in the price, was delicious. From the freshly squeezed orange juice to the fresh food plate and the breakfast entrees. Perhaps one of the things I appreciated most was the staff. From the moment we entered the hotel, they were amazing. We received a tour of the facility and of the room! Everyone always had a smile on their face whenever we left the hotel and greeted us warmly when we arrived back from an outing. Santa Marta was a memorable trip, made even better because of Hotel Boutique Don Pepe and the wonderful accommodation and staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again.

Roxana (10/5): Most problably Don Pepe is the best hotel in Santa Marta - Upon arrival we were upgraded to the presidential suite due to a problem with the room I have booked. It was one of the few hotels which welcomed us with drink and a brief historic tour of the house. Amazing suite, friendly staff and delicious food. Nothing I can think of.
