- Jan (9/5): Great value and a great breakfast - The Hotel was in a great position for me being close to the main road.
Great value for money and the breakfast was both varied and very enjoyable.
Will definitely stay here again. Nothing to dislike

- Ross (6/5): - Rooms comfy Location
- Anthony John (8/5): Perfect for our visit to a family function - Close to the M4 Toilet in room was very low and I found it difficult to stand from it

- Michael (4/5): -
- harding (8/5): -
- Alan (4/5): Not somewhere I would stay again. - No bathroom, just a separate tiny shower, a sink in the room and not in the toilet. Hotel located in an unsafe area.
- MP (8/5): - Ease of access. Close to M4. Quiet.

- Alex (10/5): Basic but clean and comfortable - It is very basic which I guess that’s what to expect been a budget hotel so not complaints just could do with updating in the corridors but was clean and comfortable stay Was clean and comfortable and staff were all lovey
- Daka (10/5): It was perfect. Will book again for my holiday - Everything including the breakfast and the welcome by staff. Everything

- Elizabeth (8/5): This ibis is a great base for myself and friends when we visit Newport, plus is value for money. - The Bed was very comfortable. room was clean. staff where very helpful. we needed more milk, the staff asked if we needed anything else. Maybe a hairdryer in the room. but not a bit deal.
- Murray (4/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Good value for money. - For the price the room was large, shower hot and powerful and it was good vfm. No cooked breakfast.
- Delphine (10/5): Lovely room clean and quiet nice to stay in overnight after a family party - Location was further from the venue we were visiting but as i have relatives in Newport it wasnt really a problem hotel and room was lovely, quiet and clean everything was provided in the room which was needed for the one nights stay breakfast was plentiful and a good choice of food
Reception staff were very efficent and helpful Nothing !!!!!!
- Michael (10/5): -
- Colin (5/5): It was a bed for the night. Do yourself a favour and find a Travelodge. - Front desk staff were pleasant enough. Property looking tired. Really basic room. Desk chair akin to an upturned plastic bin. Shower and sink practically next to the bed. Motorway-side rooms a little noisy. Toilet in what I initially thought was a wardrobe.

- stephan (7/5): -
- David (9/5): - Staff breakfast and comfortable bed
- Jonathan (8/5): -
- Patsy (9/5): - Helpful staff. Comfortable bed and a well equipped wet room. Not much space on shelf for tea mak8ng
- Victoria (10/5): - Friendly and accommodating staff.
- jorN1863VU (2/5): You don’t know “budget” until you stay here - I always thought Ibis was fairly budget-friendly to begin with, but this takes things to a completely different level. You don’t really understand the meaning until you stay in one of these.
The room itself is incredibly basic, almost to the point of feeling unfinished. The mattress was rock solid, so much so that I barely slept. It’s one thing to keep things simple, but comfort really shouldn’t be compromised to this extent.
What surprised me most was just how little is provided. There wasn’t even a bar of soap in the shower, literally the bare minimum you’d expect anywhere. It felt like everything had been stripped back as far as possible.
I initially thought it might be fine for just one night, but even that felt like a stretch. It’s not somewhere I’d choose to stay again if I had any other option.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have one, I was staying on specific dates and everything else was fully booked. Had I known what to expect beforehand, I definitely would have thought twice.
If you have alternatives available, I’d strongly recommend considering them.
- Wendy (8/5): Clean, comfortable and great location. - Clean, bed very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful, great location. Even though by the M4 it was quiet.
Felt very safe there.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Murphy (7/5): Perfect location to walk into town for Newport marathon - Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The extremely hard pillows.
- Rosie (10/5): Very good. - The staff. I liked everything.
- AMINAT (10/5): Excellent still - Microwave facilities Size of the bathroom
- James (10/5): - Location.
- Ellingham (3/5): Not recommended - Polite and friendly staff Hideous decor, cramped toilet, poor location
- Daniel (10/5): -
- mark (6/5): Stayed for one night only... was ok. - Room, breakfast and shower were fine. Situated next to a busy road.
- Ian (7/5): Ideal for a short overnight stay. - Very basic but ideal for what was wanted.
Car parking good

- Samantha (6/5): -
- Michael (5/5): -
- Gareth (8/5): Good value - Location, price and staff. One or two hairs on duvet
- Helen (3/5): More for homeless folk than travellers - Staff were mostly friendly and professional The hotel caters for homeless people, alot folk hanging outside doors, ( no pre warning) stairwells smell, at least inform guests of the situation.
- Janice (9/5): Satisfied - No breakfast
- Verde (8/5): -
- Kathryn (4/5): Mixed feelings - Beds are comfortable and the room was clean. Near the city, just off the motorway so easy access to most things.
Downstairs access to a microwave.
Late check out. Unprepared on how personal you had to get with the person you share with. For example the toilet in the room was very basic, no lock on bathroom door and very small.
Shower although frosted glass that went from the room it was still see through with a hole in the door which was to open and close. No room for a towel in the shower room so you had to leave the shower wet naked while you found your towel.
TV has a very limited signal for channels.
It was ok for one night but there are places to stay that are the same price but better standard.
Arrived at night and was a challenge to find the carpark. I didn't feel completely safe leaving my car there.

- rowland (9/5): Simply the best budget hotel I’ve ever stayed in and for a kind and helpful staff look no further… - We have stayed very often indeed. Heh it’s not The Ritz but for value for money, a super comfy bed and a great shower……..second to none! The staff are just so friendly and helpful. The location great, just off the M4 but you hear nothing and the buffet breakfast perfectly adequate and money worthy. Rooms are small but did I intend to do The American Smooth in there…no! Love the place….. Nothing
- Tom Lambourn (7/5): Budget venue - Cheap, convenient, clean Very basic, but you get what you pay for
- Simon (6/5): -
- Mcallister (7/5): -
- Dean (3/5): I rather sleep in the car - Not much Looks like a prison. Toilet was too small. Tv didn’t work and beds uncomfortable.
- dane (5/5): -
- Michael (3/5): - Shower was decent, location was good Place stank upon entry. People arguing and slamming doors all night. Room was dusty and the air conditioning threw dust everywhere when I turned it on.
- Yordanov (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Budget Ibis 5 star treatment - Amazing staff especially Rebecca who made us so welcome and the pizza was delicious all staff went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible Everything exceeded our expectations
- Julian (9/5): - .. .
- Sarah (5/5): Ok - It was somewhere just to put our head down It was basic
- Lesley (7/5): Basic but fulfilled our need for four rooms and we were only there to sleep as we were off to the rugby. Bonus was break - Basic but suitable for us as only needed bed for the night after watching the rugby. Needed 4 rooms and fulfilled our need.Reasonable location for the station. Easy to locate and parking available. Large bed.lovely touch to provide Welsh cakes in the rooms for the rugby weekend. Strong Drain smell in shower
- Alessandra (1/5): Budget shouldn't mean unpleasant!! - The second we walked in, the smell of stale cigarette smoke was overwhelming. It was in the carpets, the curtains, and the bedding. For an Ibis Budget, I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was expecting a clean, breathable environment.
- Clarke (6/5): -
- Terence (10/5): - It was quiet and peaceful Nothing
- Paul (10/5): -
- Maunze (10/5): -
- Kerry (9/5): - Friendly staff
- Ruth (8/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Position to m4 ...comfy bed and easy check in

- danielcU5361GE (10/5): Above and beyond - I stayed here this week for two nights, and the room was exactly what I was expecting, great value for price!
It has all the amenities that you need in a budget hotel.
Great location on to the M4 and not far from the train station.
The room was spotless and my sleep was great for both nights.
I arrived on early check in and it was well worth the extra.
I was greeted by Ellis and Brian on reception, who where extremely helpful on cooking me some food on short notice as I had been travelling quite some time and was extremely hungry! It was extremely good value for money even though there were some local restaurants, i was unable to order as some are closed, but the staff had this covered.
Thanks Brian for going the extra mile and even organised a taxi to the train station, they did have an uber machine in the reception but Brian personally went out of ones way to help me ensure my taxi was here on time.
Unfortunately i had to change the bedding as my dog who was also with me on this trip had gotten dirt on the clean bedding as soon as we arrived but this wasn't an issue as Tracy and Denise in housekeeping had clean sheets on my bed straight away! I can't thank you enough absolutely above and beyond.
I also took the opportunity of the continental breakfast and was overwhelmed with the selection, great value and you could even help yourself to the fruit throughout the day, not just breakfast!!! I thought this was fantastic as I eat lot's of fruit 😀 😋
I also opted for late checkout so I could go about my business at ease I was checked out by becks and Anna who also went out of their way to ensure i had a taxi arive on time for my coach.
All in all a memorable stay due to the absolute kindness of the staff including Tom who was working the night shift!
He was very very knowledgeable about the local history of the area and gave me some great locations to go and explore.
The only small issue I had during my stay was the TV would not turn on but Phil who also works on reception had the issue resolved in no time! Thank you Phil!
All in all good great value and I enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay here again when in Wales.
A massive thank you and look forward to possibly seeing you again.
- Nicholas (4/5): - Good central location for the motorway I paid for breakfast & when I got there all that was there was 1 crossiant which I was told it’s 1st come 1st serve
- Fel Johnson (2/5): Cooked Breakfast would have been nice, stayed on many Ibis Hotels, this was the worst - The room was like an upmarket prison cell The whole building could do with a makeover
- Hollie (2/5): -
- Tabitha (1/5): - Having guests clearly using drugs within the hotel. Getting into the lift with our children to be met with a cloud of smoke. The smell of cannabis was overwhelming.
We spoke to reception, who advised the hotel is used as temporary accommodation, they can't say anything to the residents as they've jumped behind reception before and smashed everything. When we also complained about the overpowering smell of weed. The receptionist said they also smoked weed and didn't overly see an issue as they had children also.
Absolutely awful customer service shouldn't allow families to stay here
