Guest Reviews
- Joerg (9/5): Good value. - Location was good. Quiet, comfortable, room and a good night's sleep. A future upgrade of the bathroom may be beneficial.
- Greg (7/5): - It was very clean!
- Constance (8/5): Overall good value - Easy to find, helpful staff The bathroom was extremely cold
- Gary Blair (7/5): -
- Christine (8/5): - Bon rapport qualité, prix je recommande
- donna (10/5): - It was very good
- Bruce (3/5): Comfortable and clean but not for those physically challenged. Motel is definitely dated. - Cleanliness and comfortable beds Bathroom door is not wide enough for my mothers walker and definitely not wheel chair accessible.
- Catherine (6/5): Old and Rundown - Old Motel which has not been upgraded at all. So was just okay. Shower and toilet not good. Beds okay. It was quiet and dark, only good thing. Will not stay there again. Thoigjt we would try somewhere different and picked this motel for its locationnut it was a mistake.
- Daniel (6/5): - old place in need of renovations, don't expect high class, the bed was clean and the bathroom too but keep your shoes on to move around!!!
- Shell-Lee (8/5): - This property is a wonderful old style drive-up motel that I love. It may be a bit dated but it is meticulously clean and very comfortable. Thanks. : )
- Robert (7/5): -
- Spring (9/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): Perfect stop over. - Clean, quiet. Really comfy beds and pillows. Nice friendly staff who told us about the breakfast place across the street.
- Robin (10/5): - This motel is very quiet and clean. The owners will help you wupith anything. There is a very nice paved trail system right across the street. We were very pleased with our stay
- Pierre (10/5): Très bien, j’y retournerais. - Un peu vieillot très propre Tranquille
- Anna (10/5): Great place to stay in Long Sault! - Clean, well appointed, comfortable beds and a great location for the triathlon (Camp Tri by Somersault). Check out the Waterview resto nearby and the lost village's brewery. Charmant. Nothing!
- Daniel (8/5): - I booked this reservation through Expedia and when we got there, the person I was not booked to stay there and could be at the other hotel down the road. After a few min of going back and forth, I told him look, I have your booking confirmation received via Expedia and suddenly there I was in his booking logs... Just seemed a little odd... But overall the property and room were just fine for our 1 night stay.
- metcalfe (4/5): Not impressed - Scenery across the street was nice. Beautiful water There was only 1 towel for 2 people and than upon check out we were accused of stealing the second towel that was never there. Owner went as far as going through my bag...
- Janice (10/5): -
- Joe (4/5): - I had booked a room on this site. When I got to the hotel they didnt have my room so I ended up in a room with 2 doublebeds vice a single queen. They were very nice people to deal with however they should have a least give me a deal on the room.
- Barbeau (8/5): Nice gem close to everything! - Very clean and spacious room with all the amenities you need. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker & more. Comfortable king size bed. Welcoming host. Walkable to nearby restaurants. Close to nearby activities and sites. Great value for the $$. Would return here in the future.
- Christina (8/5): - Very convenient location close to the 401, waterfront trail and long Sault Parkway. Close to a gas station/Tim Hortons and other food.
Motel was dated but everything was clean and staff was very nice.
Only downfall was how thin the walls were, everytime someone closed/opened a door you could hear it which made it hard to sleep.
Overally positive experience.
- H (8/5): Very good -
- tony (6/5): - Convenient location.
- Carlos (8/5): - Unique ,very clean....friendly staff...only missing a pool and a icing machine .
- Cbsngriffin64 (7/5): Good - Great location, 2 night weekend It would be nice if there was a mirror in the room other than the one in the washroom.
- Alain (4/5): Attention to detail and presentation/curb appeal is definitely required to justify the charge. - Location Very outdated and in need of repair and upkeep. The Toilet did not flush well, the WiFi was not working, the TV set-up was archaic and the furnishings, Thrift Shop quality. The Owners were lovely People but it seems that they either don’t have the funds or capability to improve the Facility to bring it up to the standard reflected in the nightly cost.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a super hot day on a motorcycle she gave me a bottle of water right away, so I could cool down then checked in, room was also cooled off :). Restaurants, gas, variety store all within walking & a view of the lake :)
- Josephine (8/5): - Nice and quiet
- Tahmuras (10/5): - Very clean! Great Views! Friendly owners!
- Sandra (8/5): - Clean and quiet
- Axel (10/5): - It was a nice stay overall
- Betsy (8/5): Very nice place to stay for the cost, great scenery. - The location was very nice. You could see the St. Lawrence Seaway and there were nice walking trails across the street. Also, it’s close to Long Sault Parkway, which has wonderful scenery.
The motel was quiet. The water pressure in the shower was great, with plenty of hot water.
The owners were nice and very cordial. I had to cancel the second part of my stay due to an issue at home and they made sure I wasn’t charged. There was rust in the sink. The wall color could have been more up-to-date.
- Kelly (7/5): Good value for your money, but the shower was definitely a massive disappointment and I would probably book somewhere el - Staff pleasant clean room comfortable bed Shower was the WORST
- Lisa (8/5): Very good - We love staying here and the administration is ama,ing and friendly and helpful and accommodating! Everything is perfect for us!
- Franca (7/5): If you need a place to stay in this out-of-the-way location, this motel serves the purpose admirably. - The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. We chose this motel because of its close proximity to Upper Canada Village. We were also pleased that there was a restaurant nearby for breakfast in the morning. The light switch for the bathroom was outside the bathroom so a night time visit to the toilet meant flooding the sleeping area with light, potentially bothering someone else trying to sleep. (Clearly a minor “dislike”.)
- Justin (6/5): - Worked for our needs. Was a bit run down looking from outside but room was clean and comfortable.
- Carleen (2/5): - Built-up dust & tangled dust balls around the bed legs & tissue pieces under the 2 beds. Mold stains in crevices of caulking in bathroom around sink & bath. Very out-dated overall. Poor attempt of trying to cover up wall finish in bathroom. Paint job terrible.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Road trip - Everything worked OK. In general the motel is back in the 60s and needs upgrading. Location is good, close to outdoor activities.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Great little spot for a getaway! - We decided to book somewhere close to family for Thanksgiving weekend, and it was an overall great experience!
The price was great compared to other places in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room/bathroom was spotlessly clean, shower had great pressure and beds were comfy.
It was nice to have coffee for the coffee maker in the room, as well as the mini fridge to keep our food cold.
The only tiny thing we would have changed was the size of the pillows, which were about half the size of a regular pillow, but we made do as they were still surprisingly comfortable.
We loved the proximity to Long Sault Parkway, Upper Canada Village, hiking, great dining options, and all the lovely small towns in the area! There is even a park/play structure behind the motel (less than 5 minute walk away).
We would definitely recommend this place to others!
- William (2/5): - Terrible business with rude staff
- Adriana (6/5): - was very safe, clean but needs updates .
- Brenda (10/5): Perfect motel. - Lovely motel with easy access and very clean and quiet. Great restaurant OBriens very close by.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Dated but clean. Nothing really. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking, but that is a personal preference.
- Li (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (10/5): Very good location with amazing views of the nearby USA - Great location
The lake just a stones throw from the motel creates some lush views
Nice welcoming owner
Only a few minutes drive to Cornwall and bigger stores
- Jo (7/5): Good value and comfortable. - The beds were comfortable, the room had everything we needed for a one night stay.
- Matei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (5/5): We wouldn’t stay again. - Location was great and it was quiet, beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and quick in and out. No air conditioning, everything was really outdated. We asked for an earlier check in and would have had to pay 25.00 extra.
- Pet (3/5): Poor - The front desk smells terrible, the pillows and the cups smell terrible, I've had my hair done in the drawer, strangers' socks... The faucet in the bathtub is broken... Because of this bad situation, I don't want to touch anything else
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (8/5): - Good place for the price
- Roger (8/5): Very good - Great location, easy access to the location, lots of parking.
Nice friendly staff.
- Debra (8/5): Very good -
- Michael&debbie (7/5): It’s always nice to stay here. -
- Luc (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (5/5): It's a Motel so my expectations where not high and over all, I would return. - 1) Staff was super friendly in welcoming me at their motel.
2) It was also close to the venue that I was attending on Milles Roches
3) Restaurants are also nearby (Tim Horton, Subway & O'Neill's Pub) 1) Clearly some renos have been made (floors) but they need more as they have these old desks & chairs
2) Shower head was barely spraying being it was "old" and gunked up from possibly hardwater
3) The attention to any cleaning done is clearly just where people can openly see but baseboards in some areas where filthy.
4) AC unit is centralized and you only have a simple ON or Off switch in the room to activate the room fan. Oddly, the AC is turned off in the night so the room gets warm. The 2nd night I had to crack open the window to let the cool air come in.
5) Wifi was VERY spotty and week signal in the back section rooms
- Anne (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good, check in was good had trouble with the door key, water pressure was very poor in the shower and hot water kept fading out
- Allen (6/5): - Overall very good. Overpriced for what was provided but that seems to be the norm these days in this industry. Very quiet for sleeping, a big plus. No elect. outlet in bathroom? Overall quite clean but sink needed more attention (hair from previous occupant behind bathroom fawcets). Also BR shower pressure poor.
- Kwtraveller (7/5): Nice place to overnight near Cornwall - Cozy place with clean room.
- Diane (4/5): - Overall good , squeaky bathroom door , stayed one night
- Audrey (4/5): Disappointing - -Room was clean
-King size bed was comfortable -Air conditioning is centrally controlled, so there was no ability to adjust the room climate. The room was too warm and damp for summer weather.
-Walls are painted cement blocks.
-No hair dryers were kept in the room, but one was provided when requested. No electrical outlets located in the bathroom.
- Linda (8/5): - I enjoyed our stay I liked that it was across from the St Lawrence River ,great view. The room was clean and small but perfect for a quick night on the road .
- Bégin (8/5): Only to sleep with family - Accessible Old but clean
- Kevin (4/5): Fine but not at it’s price point - It’s in a quiet small town and the owners seemed nice The value for money was not great. There are places not far either nice pools, bigger beds and rooms for just a bit more money
- Lucette (6/5): - Small, and overpriced.
- Eldon (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lois (10/5): - The room was very clean and the staff friendly. We were visiting family in Ingleside so the location was perfect. The only concern was that the bed, although very comfortable, was a double not a queen. Next time, we would each take a bed.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Qiyue (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kat (10/5): - Close to 401. Great point between Toronto and Riviera du Loup, QC
- David (10/5): - Great location for a quick over night stay or if you want to stay and explore the area.
- Barbara (8/5): Comfortable Stay - The Motel is located across from the St.Lawrence River & we enjoyed a nice view. This is an older building with older style furniture, but is reasonably well maintained. We were able to find a good meal at a family restaurant nearby.
- Mohini (7/5): Good value for money - Comfortable and accessible. Very noisy
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean and convenient - This was exactly what we needed. A place to stay on our road trip which was clean and could accommodate a family.
- Jeremy (7/5): We were ok with our stay there. - Breakfast is not included.
Location is good for access to Long Sault Parkway, and convenient for further travel west. The motel is old
- Lia (8/5): Good place to stay. - Comfy, clean and neat. The head shower should flow better
- Mike (9/5): Great Value! - Very friendly owners, clean, comfortable room and quiet. Close to the St. Lawrence River. All at a very good price.
- Paul (3/5): Toilet would not flush - Not in Quebec. Lots of parking Old building
- Daniel (8/5): - Practical location
- Susan (10/5): - This property is older but is in the process of being renovated. It's impeccably clean and the proprietor is SO NICE and helpful. I definitely recommend if you're in the Long Sault area.
- wendy (6/5): - This motel is fine for overnight. The rooms are small but clean. There is only one chair to sit in. However, we could walk to a nearby pub for dinner and music and Tim Horton's is also only a walk away.
- Richard (8/5): Lion Motel - The room was very comfortable and had everything that you needed. To be honest it was better than I expected and was very clean.
The setting was very nice and very convenient for travelling between Montreal and Toronto.
There were two places to eat a few minutes walk away, but the one I went to did close rather early.
- Elisha (6/5): It was OK. - It was OK
Basic motel
Bed sheets are more modern than in pictures posted
Bed sheets were clean
Room was ready on time
Clean - EXCEPT for under the beds Bathroom lights flickered
Under the bed was not clean - obviously hasnt been on in a while
Motel is dated and showing signs of wear / cosmetic damage
We noticed a fire pit, asked about buying firewood
We were told there is a fire ban.... this is not the case at all
Everything is lush green and we checked the county website for fire bans
- Marta (2/5): Very poor - Upon our arrival, the RECEPTIONIST was our first bad impression.
Breakfast was poor, the cleaning was inadequate, and having to pay for parking made the price far from the quality of the hotel.
- Karen (7/5): Great location - We were so close to the bike trails. The beds were very comfortable and the owners were super friendly. Nothing. It was perfect for our trip.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Solid budget motel - clean, comfy beds, good location. No problem recommending as a place to stay
- Gertrude (8/5): - It was adequate for what we required. The price was good, but we missed no WiFi connection.
- Abeer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (8/5): It was good - Close to restaurants etc Needed a new storm door
- Geetika (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (8/5): - Friendly staff, great value and location
- Marjory (10/5): Happy Travelers - My husband and I have stayed at the lion motel many times and everytime we were happy and comfortable. We have returned many times because we are pleased with the room #1 is the room we have always stayed,, #1 has become very senemental to both of us.
