The room was huge and the bed super-comfortable. The swimming pool and sauna was massively appreciated too. The Staff were outstanding and the breakfast was exceptional. The hotel is being upgraded on a room by room basis - and they are doing a fabulous job! I will be returning with my husband. Nothing!

They were helpful, kind and friendly. Breakfast was great quality, with a good selection and the service was excellent. Having to leave!

The hotel needs some TLC it is a bit rundown. A telephone call mid afternoon when we were asleep asking how the room was! Soap dispensers at shower height are hopeless for the bath.

Not the cleanest either as the bathroom window was dirty inside and the outside windows were also in need of a window cleaner

- Sarah (7/5): Lovely but I’ll upgrade next time. - The old style opulence is reflected in the decor, the staff are lovely, views/proximity to town is great. Breakfast excellent! Would try room service breakfast next time for the luxury value! This time a double, lovely large bed but small room and facilities unremarkable, no fridge. Would go for executive double next time as the room we had last time spoilt us!

The room I was booked into had dirty skirting boards and mould on the windows. Also there was staining on the ceiling from a previous water leak. Furniture was old and damaged. In the breakfast room there was also clear damp damage.

- Elisabeth (8/5): The beautiful views saved the day - Lovely looking hotel from the outside, beautiful grounds, downstairs area’s lovely, upstairs very tired,quiet location, amazing sea views, most of the staff very friendly & chatty, bit pricey restaurant for the portions, but understandable hotel prices. No entertainment at all, highly recommended the treatments Evening reception staff completely un bothered that someone had taken our clearly signed disabled parking space, left us with nowhere to park, the comment was people don’t care nowadays!! our bed was only made up once in a weeks stay, also had no milks replenished in our room twice & had to ask for more, the heating in the bathroom was permanently on, knob broken so couldn’t turn it off, really could do with our room being redecorated next !!

Heated towel rack in bathroom. bath and separate shower, view at breakfast/dinner. Quiet. Tea/ coffee maker facilities in room, variety of tea shortbread options of fresh milk changing room area for pool could have been cleaner , jacuzzi not in operation both early mornings. Trouble closing outside window in bedroom made it noisy at night with wind. Bed a bit uncomfortable in middle as two singles combined. Sink plugs in bathroom not working properly so sink didn’t drain easily

I had the full breakfast one day and eggs Benedict the next morning . Also had a bowl of fruit and choice of Fruit Juices or Tea and Coffee . Service was great and food came out quickly and hot . So well pleased with Breakfast.

- Taylor (9/5): The Falmouth is handily placed from the railway station. And the High Street is a short walk away. - The Falmouth is a grand building which dominates one end of the esplanade. It has fine gardens. They serve a good breakfast. The swimming pool can be rather noisy and boisterous.

- Michelle (10/5): Wonderful break included Mothering Sunday so the hotel rose to the occasion. Easy walk to trendy - Always fist class, but not able to cook a tomato! The views were lovely as were staff and choice of tables. Changing rooms for the spa need improvement. Disappointed with graffiti and untidy sea front walk.

Great location Sadly a wedding was taking place at the hotel, this meant no food was being served, no seating available in bar ect. We was not made aware this woukd be the case. The rooms are extremely dated. We had been given a room that was dog friendly, this wouldn't be an issue if you couldn't tell but the carpet was extremely stained and dog treats had been left on the floor.

- stephanie (8/5): Wonderful views.. - The view over castle beach is wonderful, the location is great with Falmouth a gentle stroll away. The food and service were very good. Yes the hotel is a little tired but this adds to the charm if your style is modern boutique then this is not for you. Comfort and relaxation is what you can expect. Our stay was interrupted by a rowdy function when the grounds, bar and lounges were completely taken over and the revelry got more raucous as the afternoon and night went on..

- Stefanie (10/5): wunderschönes Hotel in toller Lage - The Falmouth ist ein wunderschönes traditionelles Hotel mit Blick aufs Meer. Das Personal ist sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Die Räumlichkeiten sind wunderschön eingerichtet, haben alle Blick aufs Meer und man fühlt sich überall sehr wohl. Unser Zimmer war neu renoviert und das Bad war sehr komfortabel. Zum Frühstück gibt es ein Buffet und warme Speisen kann man von der Karte bestellen. Es gibt ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze und die Innenstadt ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Schwimmbad müsste an der ein oder anderen Stelle mal gestrichen werden.

We will visit again, but skip on breakfast - Although the hotel is dated, it was clean, comfortable and the staff were excellent, the pool and spa are very good. A lovely relaxing bar area, with wonderful views across the bay The only thing that marred our brief stay was the breakfast. I ordered the grilled breakfast with a “soft” fried egg, the breakfast was cold, apart from the hash browns and the egg was rock hard. My wife ordered eggs Benedict which was stone cold, her breakfast was then freshly cooked and again came out cold. We very very rarely complain but I did bring this to the attention of the receptionist on checking out, for the benefit of the hotel.

Outside has had recent refurbishment, now be good when they start inside as looking tired in places. Unable to look out as windows were so dirty and unable to clean Dirty windows....
- Mark J (7/5): A pleasant stay at the Falmouth with a dog - Sea view, large room, location. The food that we ate was nice. The staff seemed pretty friendly. Felt squashed into a single room for breakfast, dining and drinks because we had a dog. The drinks were amazingly expensive - two large gin and tonics and a pint of Guinness cost £38. The communal toilets near the bar area were absolutely disgusting. The room service seemed to be inconsistent. We didn't quite get a full service each day. The morning coffee was not very nice because the French press they used had not been cleaned properly and had dirty leftover coffee kernels making the coffee taste off. The overall aesthetic of the room was a bit of a disappointment. Very small TV and the furniture was very old. Not very pleasant or comfortable. However the beds were okay.

Was told on arrival that we had been complimentary upgraded to an executive room then 5 mins later told oh no sorry that was a mistake. We did however have a bottle of wine in the room as I mentioned we were celebrating a special birthday. Long wait for breakfast 50 mins on furst morning. Lack of staff. Dated and tired looking room. Looks like gitel is being refurbished on a gradual basis

I also felt the room carpet was dated and the room had a very strange lighting switch arrangement; I couldn't quite understand which switch, operated which light!

We stay here quite a lot as have relatives close by and find it very good value for money. Have had roast and cream tea in the past both of which were very good.

- Nathalie (4/5): Will not be returning. - The hot water and powerful shower. Reception staff were helpful. We booked the hotel as it was dog friendly but felt like we were 2nd class citizens being packed off for a separate area for breakfast and were not permitted entry to the bar with the dog. No flexibility on restaurant booking as my husband was delayed by 15 mins so we had to go elsewhere. The room was very tired, carpets were thread bare, bedside lamp had no bulb, the toilet flush handle was not fixed together and came apart on use, the window rattled throughout the night due to not a particularly strong wind and had cobwebs in the corners. The worst thing was the bed, it sunk and the matress springs could be felt and not a good night sleep was had.
- Amanda (9/5): falmouth hotel review - i loved the public open spaces on the ground floor..comfy sofas/armchairs/lighting.. paintings on the walls ..the seating near the large windows were very popular..we spent alot of time sitting having drinks looking at the views of the gardrns & sea, & people watching...the pool was very convenient in the basement..having a lift was a must & a godsend for such a large hotel with 4 floors, esp for people with mobility issues like myself.. staff were polite & helpful.. perfect location..the only minuses and they arent really minus's , were that it was a bit dated..if you prefer modern..which i dont...but the whole building was full of character..i loved it there & will definately go back there whenever i go to falmough to visit my daughter.. A1 recommended.. the only things i didnt like were the cost of the meals & the time it took to make our coffees..sometimes it took 15 minutes for them to make 2 drinks..but these are very miniscule minuses..

The breakfast served is great with outstanding views, the walk in front is just what you need on a stormy day. Loved the stay. Just little things really - no soap in the shower, the windows have such gorgeous views but are so dirty, etc. Small things but quite inconvenient and takes so much away from the lovely experience.

- Kim (9/5): Lovely hotel had a great sleep - Location and parking is excellent, the main areas of the hotel are stunning and staff were welcoming and helpful. Bed was the best, I had a really good sleep The room was updated to a point and clean but it needs a little more. The outside of the window needed a good clean, the carpet needed replacing. The furniture works fine but a little dated.
