• Jonesy319 (7/5): Cheap and cheerful-ish - Location was good, right off the highway. Cost was excellent, cheap and cheerful-ish. Room was clean, bedding was clean, fresh but tiny towels provided It was a little shabbier than I had anticipated. The staff person whilst methodical and did the job, did not reflect a professional image at all. I wasn't expecting someone to be wearing a 3 piece suit but he looked scruffy - he had a wife beater shirt on that didn't look especially clean, baseball hat, loose shorts. Didn't really instill confidence. Plus - the FREE breakfast they advertise - in the morning was a well-worn sign 'breakfast not available today'

• Andrea (4/5): - Property felt very sketchy. You can tell it's rented out weekly or monthly to locals. Tires, grills and other items cluttered areas by rooms. Rooms were clean and kinda updated but in our room there was a hole in the bathtub. You can tell by flooring choice the property is used more for longer stays by locals. There was a lot of traffic outside of room at late hours. Honestly didn't really feel safe staying hetr but had no option while traveling. I will not stay there again.

It waa more like a studio apt, definitely a great deal for the price. The breakfast exceeded our expectations with myltiple hot and cold options. Will definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Vandalia, IL area.

We were traveling over night bc my husbands father was in the ICU and he offered us 2 queen beds instead of just the king that we had reserved! Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The shower stool had no back, there was no hand held shower sprayer which handicap people need. Invest $100 and it would have been much nicer.

• Heather (8/5): Better on the inside - The outside looks a little sketchy and run down and the lobby breakfast area doesn’t really scream “clean,” but the interior of the room was nice, it was quiet, and for the price it was a great overnight stay.

They did apologize and put new bedding on. If you can stand the smoky bar smell and don't mind who's juices you lay in then this is the place for you

• Stefan (6/5): It’s a hotel - This place was adequate for my one night stay over on the way to somewhere else. The room was clean and the plumbing worked. Breakfast is nothing to write home about. No place nearby that I wanted to eat and no real grocery store in town, but there are some options in the downtown area. I was expecting better given the traveler rating that this place had. I would read it a five out of 10.

• Bradley (10/5): Well worth the money - Not a high dollar fancy hotel, but was quick, easy, and clean with a good price. Everything in the room worked well, and parking was right in front of the door to my room. Hotel was also easy to find, and get in and out of, with shopping, fuel, and food close by.

We paid for breakfast included but didn't get any - please be aware of this, as the included breakfast might be a scam. The signage saying breakfast was not being done for the day was in a proper plastified display, which means this was no accident or one time or rare occurance.

I like that the floors were not carpeted. The bath mat towel was dirty, but I overlooked that. For a quick one night stay, it was fine.

We rolled in late- after 2:30 am after driving for 10 hours. The front desk guy was sleepy but very friendly and did not give us attitude for arriving so late. Complimentary breakfast was a waffle maker, coffee with real milk, bottled juices and assorted packaged pastries, and apples and oranges- better than I would have expected for a budget motel. They are rally making an effort to make this place a good stay. Highly recommended- I would stay there again .

• Adam (9/5): Great hotel with friendly staff, super comfy beds, and a quality breakfast. - Staff was always there to answer questions and did a GREAT job of helping me find my room. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Fresh towels and wash rags, fresh soap and shampoo, and a full array of coffee for the coffee maker. The bed was super comfy, and the outlets were convenient for charging my electronics. Wi-Fi was fast. Brand new furniture and appliances, and fresh flooring. The bathrooms were amazing and well laid out. Breakfast was pretty good, with waffles and cereal, as well as fresh fruit and yogurt. Fantastic stay for the price. Far better than other hotels in the area I stayed at. The door between rooms. I never have cared for that idea, and the gentleman in the room next to me woke up at 3am and I heard the entire conversation he was having.

I am not sure but he cares he listened to me vent not once but twice about my life and didn't judge me. The room was amazing the bathroom looked brand new can def tell they have been doing some remodels on the place and it looks fantastic cheap price hotel and clean and great service made a girl happy thanks again my guy u are def amazing keep up your good work

• Richard (8/5): - Been driving? Need a no frills place to crash? This meets all of your needs and none you don’t. The front side of the property has had its rooms redone. They are clean, smoke smell free, quiet and comfortable but no frills. Oh and good shower! If you accidentally go to the back side well, there are unnumbered rooms, some rooms with open doors (but no obvious occupants). I’ll assume they are upgrading the rooms as they can. All in all a good value for the basics.

We slept so well on the incredibly comfortable mattress. We were very satisfied with our choice to stay at Budget Inn and we will definitely return to this motel when we are in the area.
