Guest Reviews
- Patrick (10/5): - There's no parking at the hotel. You have to go to a "parkhaus". They've plenty.
- 567philips (10/5): Ludwigsburg campuszwei - We arrived to find everything was automatic. They allotted us room 19, which is up 3 flights of stairs overlooking a bar and square. We where surprised how big and clean the room was. We would recommend this place to everyone, but try to get room 19. We stayed 2 nights but never saw anyone at reception. Cleaners where very helpful. Overlooking a very busy bar, but didn't hear anything at night. No air conditioning but large fan supplied. Coffee also available in room.
- Axel (8/5): - Zentrale Lage in Ludwigsburg
- Soccca (10/5): Excellent hotel - Excellent hotel, quite easy to find, very clean rooms and bathroom, self check-in. It is located very close to the Blühendes Barock. There is a huge public parking lot just across the street (4€/day). I would definitely choose this hotel again.
- Harald (10/5): Gute Adresse in Ludwigsburg - Sehr gute Betten, Alles sauber, sehr zentral und parken gegenüber zum guten Preis von 4€ pro Tag. Alles perfekt.
- Kristin (10/5): - Sehr angenehm
- Wolfgang (10/5): - Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.
- Uwe Erwin (8/5): - Zentral gelegene Unterkunft.
Tiefgarage in direkter Nähe.
Echt sauber!
- Kerstin (10/5): - Mein Lieblingshotel in Ludwigsburg.
- Duncan281 (8/5): Great thing is the space and location but otherwise a bit basic. - Excellent location, 4 minutes walk to the main square in Ludwigsburg. Public car park across the road (4 euros overnight). The rooms are very large with plenty of space. The facilities are a bit limited (no oven in kitchen, no bottle opener). So basic in nature but with lots of room and very good location. Fans provided for aircon. Ours was broken but reception quickly responded and replaced it. Reception only manned 8 - 11 am so self service check in on a machine (not so satisfactory). Bedroom and bathroom were very clean. Plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance (Mexican restaurant/bar across from front door)
- Marco (8/5): - Wie immer top
- Simon (10/5): Super!
- Yaser (8/5): - Alles sehr gut.
Keine Klimaanlage. Später ein Ventilator. Parken auf dem öffentl. Parkplatz sehr fair mit 4Euro pro 24h. Dank an die Stadt!
- Ste (10/5): - camera enorme e pulita. edificio vecchio ristrutturato
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 👍👍👍👍
Ich bin begeistert und komme gerne wieder.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Alles okay !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - alkes super
- Suse (10/5): - Hübsches, geräumiges Zimmer in Zentrumsnähe. Gerne wieder!!
- Joachim (8/5): - Es war alles ok. Tipp für Doppelzimmer: 2 Vernünftige Stühle mit Rückenlehne. Ein Schreibtischstuhl ist ganz nett. Reicht aber nicht für 2 Personen.
- Frankenfurter (8/5): Recommended - New, large, clean rooms - Stayed 1 night in this hotel. The person at the counter was friendly, courteous, and efficient. The room was surprisingly large, and seemed brand new, with perfectly working plumbing, electrics, and mechanical hardware. All for a bargain price.
- Ksenia (10/5): Comfortable and centrally-located hotel! - This was our second time staying at this hotel (a family member had recommended it), and we were really happy with both of our stays! The hotel is centrally-located with a Mexican bar/restaurant right next door; both times we stayed there, we had no issues with outside noise. No air conditioning units, just a vertical fan. The rooms are big and comfy and the WiFi is great!
- Ewa (4/5): Incorrect info on hotels.com website - The hotel is situated in a very load area, full of students and night passer-bys. There is no parking possible in the close vicinity (only for max 2 hours). Contrary to information on the hotels.com website this hotel doesn't have any king size beds, only queen size. Very disappointing!
- smeaty (10/5): Great hotel - will stop here again without question - Great hotel - will stop here again without question”
Limited choice of eggs for breakfast. Weather was wet - sorry but I am sure that could have been sorted for us!!
Great location and really well renovated old property. Modern, clean and warm. Great shower and large bedroom. Hard to fault at all.
- nico0ole (10/5): Spacious room - The location is not quite easy to find, it was surrounded by several campus and not accessible by car. But the hotel is spacious, clean with good restaurants near it. However, the room is a bit hot, seems no air-condition and thats why fan is provided.
- Vishi2014 (8/5): Comfortable budget stay - I happened to stay here for one night during my official visit to our HQ in Ludwigsburg. I got a cozy room and the stay was comfortable. Staff is quite helpful as the lady at reception helped me to lift my heavy bag all the way to my room at second floor.
Breakfast had good number of options and I really liked it.
I would recommend to all those looking for a budget stay.
- Kathryn (10/5): Happy find along our route - Beautifully restored buildings with wood beams and updated bathroom. Skylights looked out on the town. Breakfast was amazing!
- KimmyBee71 (10/5): Great Place to Stay! - My daughter and I stayed here during a quick trip to the Christmas Markets in the area and I would most definitely return! Terrific central location; easy 10 minute walk from the train station, from the Christmas Market, and from the Palace. Excellent buffet style breakfast in the morning for a very reasonable price. Comfortable, clean, very quiet room. The staff was fantastic and all desk staff spoke English, which came as a big relief to us since our German is atrocious.
Ludwigsburg is a quick 15 minute train ride from Stuttgart (even quicker if you take a regional train instead of an S-bahn), and from Stuttgart you can go anywhere, making this hotel a great alternative to the more expensive hotels in the city. There is a wide assortment of restaurants within walking distance, as well as drugstores (apotheke), grocery stores, and bakeries. This is a super-convenient location.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
- Cory (10/5): Good place to stay - Nice place to stay near the city center. Everything is easily within walking distance
- bill329 (8/5): A Pleasant surprise - We stay in this hotel since we are very concerned with the traffic in the city of Stuttgart, the hotel has been well-managed and rooms are very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent and refreshing with good quality.
You will get the value of your money to stay in this hotel..
Make sure you have to travel light when staying in this hotel as there is no elevator to reach your rooms.
- Reto R. (10/5): Modern, clean and quiet room - walking distance to pedestrian shopping area and railway station, this modern hotel is located close to a park within university buildings
A Mexican bar and restaurant with outdoor seating is just there. No noise
Coffee maker in the room, did not try the breakfast
Easy check in and out, also self service possible
Would stay again there
- sassyhippychick (8/5): Excellent self contained apartment - This suite was fully equipped with a large eat in area, fridge, stove, microwave, sink and all required kitchen ware. The bedroom was large and included a desk with power to charge any gadget you had. The hotel has recently been redone and looks great. The staff is helpful and attentive.
- David (10/5): - After a month of cycle touring In Europe I think this hotel was my favourite. Can't wait to come back.
- binoy2015 (8/5): Good choise - 600 meters from the main station. Clean comfortable king size bed and very nice breakfast with effordable price. Silent rooms friendly personnel. The size of the room is also enogh. But no gluten free products at the breakfast
- cnpjordan (8/5): Modern, comfortable, affordable - Excellent location to visit Ludwigsburg palace, gardens, and kinder park. On the art school campus directly across the street from a park with a terrific children's play area. Within easy walking distance from town center, and numerous excellent restaurants and shopping area.
The hotel/boarding house has lovely apartments with modern touches in a refurbished older building. It has a modern feel and look. All the apartments in the building we stayed in (20-27), include a separate modern bath, an efficiency kitchen, TV, free WiFi, a separate sleeping area (some with a separate bedroom) table and chairs, and some with a couch. Breakfast is served in the reception building for a nominal fee (€7), and a lively dining hall and bar is right next door. During my stay, I was in the attic room, with charming old beans from the original building. I slept with the windows (double pane) open, and did not hear any sounds from the next door restaurant.
I hoped there were other towns with a charming arrangement like Campuszwei, but alas there were not. The price is so affordable, I imagine one would find such a great place only in Germany. If you are planning a trip to Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wurttenburg, you will find this quite the treasure.
- Andrey_Nara (10/5): The hotel to stay longer - *Eng
Actually, it is hard to believe, but in Ludwigsburg I found a hotel in which I would stay longer. I do not really know why would one visit this nice, small German town, but if it ever happens, I strongly recommend you to stay in Campuszwei hotel.
First of all, it is the center of the town. Very good location. There is a large parking just across the road, which is free during the whole weekend. Second, the quality-price ratio is excellent. And in the end, it is basically very cozy and nice hotel.
I’ve got a small studio right under the roof. That was a good surprise because I expected some standard functional, sterile box, as usual. The studio was quite large, with an equipped kitchen and a fridge. Windows from the both, west and east , sides. Place to seat and relax.
Really, I did not expect anything like this in Germany for this price. Oh yeah, and it was the last, third floor without a lift. But survived it.
Unfortunately, I did not try neither this small kitchen nor breakfast. I was in Ludwigsburg only one night. But it was one of those seldom cases when I would have stayed maybe one day longer.

- Paul (10/5): In a nice town just north of Stuttgart. - Spacious modern room, very clean, very friendly staff, convenient parking for only 3 Euros. We left too early in the morning to try the breakfast. Right next to a film school, at night very pretty lighted buildings. We arrived in Stuttgart by train and rented a car to go to the Mercedes and Porsche museums on a tight schedule. This hotel was a good choice in the area for the price--lower cost than staying in Stuttgart. Very easy to drive back to Stuttgart's main train station to return the car and leave town.
- 2jus (8/5): High standard of accommodation - This hotel is in 3 separate buildings next to the school of dramatic art in Central Ludwigsburg.
We rented a superior suite which consisted of a large attic space with its own kitchen area, dining area, desk, sofa and chair and king sized bed.
The building was old but has been recently refurbished so it is modern, clean and bright.
The kitchen facilities are minimal but we were able to have our own breakfast in our room every morning. There is a small supermarket by the railway station and a slightly larger one in the centre of the town. Germany is a delight in that there are always plenty of bakeries to choose from so getting hold of fresh pastries, sandwiches and bread is very easy. A senseo coffee machine was provided and we bought additional coffee pods for less than 3 euros from the supermarket.
Rooms are cleaned daily and shampoo is provided in the shower as well as a small hair dryer.
The staff speak excellent English and were extremely helpful
There is a good sized Tv and DVD player in the room.
We made use of the local restaurant (Joe pena's) a number of times and this was not noisy. We would recommend the food and the portions are large.
The only downside of this hotel is that it is on an extremely busy road which creates a lot of noise. One one day the temperature reached 30 degrees centigrade and our room was very hot. There is no air conditioning but a fan is provided. We did not sleep well for most of our holiday and on that basis alone I would not use the hotel in the summer. However when the temperature is cooler there is nothing to fault it and the standard is extremely high. Good value for money.
- TmanTravelEat (8/5): Huge quiet room in great location - Unique 24/7 automated check in, quiet huge room, central location, good basic breakfast, lots of good restaurants around and all for a very affordable price. What else is there to say? I would stay here again for sure next time I'm in town.
- Az_fisch (10/5): fantastic!! - What a great place! Great location just a few minutes walk from the train station. Even closer to a wonderful shopping area. The hotel is located right next to the Film Academy Baden - Würtemmberg and our room was upstairs above Joe Pena's Cantina. Even though the room was above a Cantina (a VERY busy one at that) it was very quiet. The room was very spacious with a great layout. Residenzscholss and it's beautiful gardens are only a 5 minute walk away. I could have easily spent our entire 2 week vacation here. The Porsche museum, the Wasen, and the Mercedes museum are only 10 minute train rides away. Something I learned while trying to get laundry done - search for wash "salon" vs laundromat if you want a do it your self coin-op.
- MircoP_11 (8/5): Don't let the name mislead you - Although the name would imply differently, this is a normal hotel. My room was big, well heated and clean. The historical wooden stair is a little bit loud, but you don't hear it from the room. Staff is young and service oriented. Good breakfast and fast internet connection. I can recommend.
- WarrenWhyte (8/5): Well located and modern hotel in historic setting - Modern design and spacious room (silent suite) in the roof of a historic building facing the main route 27 in central Ludwigsburg. Good quality windows keep the noise at bay. The hotel is spread over three buildings, and while we had to lug our cases up the stairs as there is no lift, the rooms in the roof are very characterful. Rooms equipped with spacious shower, sense coffee maker and fridge. Breakfast optional, and if you are seated in the front room, a nice bright way to start the day.
Worth noting that there is no onsite parking, or drop off lay bay, but spaces are free in the public parking across the road. The castle and the town centre only a couple of minutes stroll from the hotel. We would have happily stayed here longer.
- cmdaisy (8/5): A great surprise on the first night of our European trip. - This spotless, possibly new hotel provided a great first night's rest after our long trip from Australia. The self contained (kitchenette) rooms were enormous, very comfortable and, although on a main road, they were beautifully quiet with nice views. The service was fantastic and the staff were very accommodating with our early arrival which we really appreciated. The breakfast was lovely and, as the hotel is in a good central location, we really enjoyed walking around Ludwigsburg for our one day stay. There is no parking on site but free parking is nearby. The price was good and the hotel was just what we wanted.
