Guest Reviews
- Lydia (10/5): - I love the setting. The beach is right there! Walking distance to everything needed. Friendly workers and guests. Very sweetđđ
- Eddie (9/5): - Small business but nice venue Not enough

- Sheryl (1/5): Walter did not care at all about our experience after he was paid. Be aware and stay clear of Holiday House Hotel in Pen - There was nothing to like about this property. Both of us have extensive travelling experience (international and domestic). We would rate Holiday House the worst customer service/experience ever. After we were upgraded by the owner (Walter) after a very arrival into a bedroom suite. We were shocked when there was no hot water, a very basic amenity when choosing to stay in a hotel. There was no one in the office to talk to or a number to reach anyone. One other guest next to our suite also had no hot water. The next morning the owner after being informed of the lack of hot water said âitâs comingâ and the ignored further questions and left the suite. No empathy or concern was demonstrated. He kept stating the lack of hot water was not his fault and actually stated it was our fault. How could that be as he moved us to that room. Walter then stated there was no refund or discount given even though hot water is a basic expectation of staying in a hotel.
- Anupreet (9/5): - Excellent property to stay
- Kerstin (8/5): Very friendly and inexpensive - Very friendly A bit small
- Kerstin (7/5): Very affordable - Cheap A bit small

- Nik (8/5): Good bang for you buck. - Really good value for a one night stay!
Place was really clean. Just a few minutes walk to Skaha lake. Would definitely stay there again.
- denis (5/5): Budget experience at near premium price. - Close to the waterfront and walking distance to restaurants, Walmart, Starbucks and pretty much anything you might need. Beds are Firm sheets were clean. Rooms need an update especially the bathroom showerhead is maybe 5ft above the tub. No closet, the hangers over the mini fridge don't have space for a shirt. No iron or ironing board. Maid service didn't include making the beds.
- Tatiana (6/5): -
- Leonid (8/5): Pretty good stay if you are going on a wine tour or a beach holiday - Convenient location - close to Skaha lake beach. AC worked fine , WiFi too. The beds were great and pillows were just amazing. You can actually sleep on these pillows instead of half sitting like in many hotels. Parking area could be paved a bit more as I had to park on gravel once.
- Marian (7/5): - Clean and great location No coffee in the room but when asked we got some
- Gordon (8/5): - Quiet Uncomfortable beds
- Andy (9/5): Convenient stay, as-advertised. - I love The Holiday House not because it's a luxurious place to stay, but because it's exactly what it says on the box. A cheap, clean place to stay that's really close to the beach. The kitchen works, the bathroom works, the AC works, the beds are comfortable. No frills. Things looked a little worse for wear: Paint peeling, no fan in the bathroom, the front door looked like it had been kicked a million times. The bathroom is kind of dated and had very little counter space.
- Keith (8/5): -
- Cindy (8/5): - The room was clean.
- Colin (8/5): Quiet Motel close to the beach - The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is very close to the beach at Skaha lake and was very quiet. The manager was friendly and helpful. nothing
- Melissa (5/5): - It was very very fine, which wouldâve been fine if it was cheap. But crazy how overpriced it was for how not nice it was.
- Mykhailo (9/5): -
- John (7/5): - Clean and cool
- Kevin (10/5): Penticton for peach Fest - I was close to the beach I was close to shopping close there is a number of restaurants of walking distance to go have dinner and shopping or whatever you needed to do it was close I enjoyed my stay quiet and peaceful
- Oscar (8/5): - Ubicacion excelente si quieres estar cerca del lago
- Tricia (9/5): - Clean and well maintained.
- Leeah (1/5): Worst of all time. - Nothing.. the lady working the was so rude and the room stank so bad. There were a bunch of people fighting and yelling all night. I was terrified. I didnât like the rooms, the staff and I didnât like paying 300 for a night in a dirty, unsafe room.
- Marco Giamello (10/5): Beyond my expectations. - The room was very very clean, every surface, even every corner of the bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised.
In the room there were: fridge, microwave, TV; In the bathroom there were also extra towels and the necessary for washing, as well as a hairdryer.
The location of the property is perfect because you can walk to Skaha lake.
- Michael Riedelmeier (7/5): -

- Mihaela (10/5): -
- James (7/5): Manager is a gem. A remarkable woman - The manager is efficient, intelligent and kind.
Itâs an old property. Hanging in. But it is cheap and clean ⌠go elsewhere if you want to Last of its kind. Penticton will soon be unaffordable. If it isnât already.
- mark (10/5): - Great unpretentious classic motel
- Miranda (7/5): Convenient, friendly, but a bit pricey. - The person who checked us in and was taking care of cleaning was so friendly and pleasant, and was the highlight of our stay. The bed was comfy, and the room was a 4/5 clean. I did find a toenail on the floor, and the shower was difficult to get going. The hanging space was also challenging to hang a dress since the microwave was right under it.
- Jamie (7/5): -
- Mccann (8/5): Great value for your money. - The women in the office who we dealt with was so friendly and inviting and very accommodating. Check in time is 4 pm but she allowed us to check in at 1030. The room was clean and the bed was super comfy. We will definitely stay here again.
- Mcphee (10/5): The value was excellent. The rooms were great, and the lady operating the motel was super cheerful and quite nice to cha - The property was older, but had some real charm. I liked the old style motel with parking in fromt of your room. It was close to the park and beach, as well as Okanagan Falls, and I liked that we were away from the busy part of town. The bathroom wasn't amazing. It lacked a fan but did have a window to open.
- Jennifer (8/5): - The suite was bigger than I expected, the bed was comfortable, the ac unit was awesome, and it was clean There was a very intense smell that I couldn't pinpoint. I definitely chose not to take any deep breaths. Also, I sent an email asking if I could check in early and didn't get any response. When I mentioned it, the person told me she was directed to ignore emails which I find really strange
- Gurwinder (1/5): Never visit Holiday House Motel in Penticton. - Nothing Behaviour of staff upon arrival was unacceptable. front desk lady said we have cameras why you guys travelling. She stated you guys look suspicious. Discriminatory comments.
- teresa (9/5): - Love the friendly service and how clean the rooms were for a older motel was very well kept
- Kevin (1/5): - Nothing. We booked based on it being listed as pet friendly. We went early to see if we could get and early check-in. At that point we were told they did not allow pets and there would be no refund. .not sure who we are more disappointed in, booking.com or this pathetic excuse for a motel.
- Mcveigh (8/5): - It was nice and close to Skaha Beach, a 2-minute walk, and 10 minutes away from Okanagan Lake. It was perfect for what I needed; I would stay again. It was on the older side but looked clean and the bed was comfy
- Keith (5/5): - The smell of the room.
- Katherine (2/5): Shocking - Staff were lovely This is an overpriced dump that should be pulled down. Our room stunk! Don't stay here. The owner is taking everyone for a ride!
- Mihaela (10/5): -
- Hunter (6/5): Alright and cheap -
- Petrie (10/5): Good - EVERYTHING Nothing
- Petrie (9/5): Awesome - The staff and the peaceful and quiet. Can't think of anything
- Petrie (9/5): Very good place yes - I I loved and liked the peace and quiet around here and also the friendly staff and there's not much more I can say about how peaceful it is to stay here and the rates are great and the staff will work really well with me and I really appreciate that and I haven't had an issue with any snap here very friendly and courteous and understanding great place I highly recommend the most family and friends and and others Etc Nothing I didn't really like there the most part I did not didn't like anything I loved everything it's very comfortable and it was a very nice stay what I didn't like is how fast a hot water drains I try to have a shower and it was barely that hot maybe turn up the hot water tank and touch more and thank you other than that nothing I didn't like

- mihaelabC449SU (10/5): Really close to Skaha beach - Nice and cozy, the manager, Rebecca went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.
I went as a solo traveler and stayed there several times before and I felt so welcome, I kept coming back.
When I arrived with my friend around 7pm, we did not have a reservation. There was one room available but not yet ready. Rebecca was so kind and got our room ready in no time.

- juanita (1/5): - It smelt and was filthy. We paid upfront for our room and the Chinaman charged us $250 USD which was held fpr 30 days! We were only in Canada for 2 weeks so this put a dent in our money! He could have released it but said he didnt have to ! When I called he said I shouldnt have used a credit card then!
Room smelt of smoke, tiles and roof covered in mould. Bedding stunk! NOTHING like its advertised.
Would discourage anyone from suppprting this place
- Claude (9/5): It was good - It was quiet
Helpful staff Rooms are in need of sprucing up
- Armando (6/5): -
- Lois (8/5): Basic Motel. Nice Staff. Clean and working A/C. - I booked last minute on a very hot evening after my AirBnB did not meet my expectations.
It was middle of July, the high season. So it was expensive. But it was clean, what I needed and the staff were very nice.

- Darcy (4/5): Will not be returning - The flowers outside were nice. The room we were given was a smoking room (the door was the only one that didnât have a no smoking sign) yet the manager stated all rooms are non smoking.
There was no lock on the door - the door handle was loose.
There was a large gap between the air conditioner and the window frame - the place did not feel safe to stay with my pregnant daughter.
The manager wasnât willing to issue a refund, but did offer an alternative room that was clean and not a smoking room.
The beds were not comfortable but they were clean.
*an awkward feature was the man in the next room - with very thin walls, we were subjected to hearing his very loud self pleasuring activities.
- Deborah (2/5): The nightly fee to stay here was very high for the room and the lack of amenities. . - The lady working the front desk when we arrived was nice. We had to get her to come to our room because our key wouldnât open the door and we needed a different key. The place was âquaintâ. The peacock feather over the picture was interesting. The room needs a whole lot of love! From the flooring thatâs uneven to the dirty bathroom and the dirty venitian blind over the window that let so much light in. Thank goodness for the dirty curtains! The beds-woke us up every time we rolled over! They were noisy and uncomfortable. It was a very noisy place to stay.

- Allykatt31 (6/5): Price too high for the quality of hotel. - Liked how convenient check in was. Close to all amenities. The cleaning was not very good. There was hair on the ceiling our bathroom. The hanger on the back of the door was broken hanging off. It's very aged.
- Coulthard (8/5): -
- Emily (7/5): Great price...meh room - Price, bed, AC Shabby

- Rachel (4/5): No thanks. I won't retry to stay there. Run down eyesore. Stay anywhere else . Just run away. - Myself and my friend met up in the lot outside. One woman there was swearing and yelling at the caretaker or owner perhaps. I used to like the place when the Owners son was managing.
While I was trying to talk to the owner. My friend outside in his truck was being yelled at by a person renting the room. Despite whatever the owner and myself couldn't work out between us over whether or not we would stay. I went out to ask a question. We ended up leaving the premises. This woman was demanding that someone who is 78 yrs old give her some festinal or some kind of drug. She started ranting again At me to definitely not stay there. I cannot even repeat what she was accusing the manager of. Even If it's half true. It s not right that he is a manager. It was enough to tell you I no longer wanted to be alone at nighttime with him. He seemed pleasant enough yet if something nags at you inside not to stay. Then probably don't stay and go elsewhere. There was partial appliances or a.c. s and junk all over the walkway . It has run down from a few more yr s went by after my last stay.
- Lindy (1/5): Should not be on Booking. Com - Nothing! Everything!
Completely derelict & run down⌠reception closed, no one at all around, including any other guests. Windows so dirty you couldnât see in to rooms, furniture etc outside some rooms.

- 185kelsim (2/5): My dog died there and they still charged me a pet fee for him - Just awful. Never told about any pet fees when we booked. We brought two, and left with one. One died on property because of an accident they were aware of this. Their doors have a key lock and no one on site until 10am. Making it very hard when your dog is hit by a car and your bf to shut the door to get car keys to get the dog to the vet. Anyways, we were charged for two pets after the owner saw a bloody doodle in my arms. Insult to injury. This place is not clean, my dead dog ate more spiders in that room than they have ever swept or vacuumed. Should be thanking us. Disgusting. Horrible people.
- Joe (3/5): Cheap stay if you need a place to sleep for the night. - Check in was quick. The girl at the front desk was nice. Location is very convenient: near shopping (Walmart and other much needed retail and grocery), walking distance to beach. Probably the cheapest motel in the city. Likely the cheapest motel in the city, approx $10-15 cheaper than other low cost motels but if itâs a good value is debatable. I would probably pay an extra $10-15 more per night for a cleaner environment. The washroom shower walls has a lot of grime and some mould along the edges, plastic shower curtain and rings have mould, sink drain emits a rotten eggs smell. Sheets and blankets are very wells used. The bedside table between both beds was sticky underneath the table (when I moved the table my hands felt something sticky along the edges). No fans in the washroom.
It was a nice welcome when I walked into the room, the AC was on, TV was on and the bedside lamp was onâŚbut I thought I walked into someoneâs room.
- Christel (1/5): Miserable - Worst place I ever stayed. Not clean. Not comfortable Cleanliness. Overall appearance. Horrible bathroom and location of hotel.
