• Jessica (10/5): More than we could have hoped for! - Our stay at Dora’s exceeded our expectations! Dora and her family were so kind, generous and welcoming. As soon as we arrived Dora sat down with us and gave us all the tips and tricks of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the proximity to the beach, to the amazing food and coffee available at the accommodation. We enjoyed being on the quieter side of the island but it was also very easy to get around on the local buses. We would highly recommend staying at Dora’s Hotel and will most definitely come back. We already miss her beautiful smile and nurturing energy. Thank you Dora for making our stay with you so special.

• Emre (10/5): Exceptional - Dora and her daughter welcomed us in kindest way possible, they guided us and gave tricks about all island (nice restaurants, shops and places to see and swim. They were helpful and also very nice chatting people. In addition when we needed pharmacy they contacted with locals and found us open pharmacy and its location at weekend.
• Fen' (10/5): Exceptional - Dora and Anna are extraordinary hosts who are warm-hearted, kind and always available for their guests' requests. They know everything about the island and their recommendations for restaurants, beaches and places to see were always perfect. The small hotel is a lovely place and a good starting point for excursions around Syros.
• Jansen (10/5): aDORAable stay! - Dora and her daughter Anna were so warm, kind and hospitable and made us feel so at home. So much love has gone into this place; the apartment was spotless and spacious, the cafe area is so lovely to sit under a giant Bougainville and enjoy a cold beer or coffee. Our kids loved the play area and the fact we could walk to the beach in 2 minutes (a great beach for kids with shallow water and natural shade is just across the road). We had a better time here than many 4 or 5 star hotels. Thank you so much Dora, we will come back!
• Amelissa (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. The apartment is just in front of a little beach (not the best of Syros) and the bus stop. Dora was so so sweet, so kind. She give us so many tips for our stay at Syros. The apartment was so clean and charming. If I have to come back to Syros, I will definitely come to Dora’s Studios again. Not far to this; there is a tavern “the talaras” who was so Yummi. The coffee in the morning was one of the best we had in Greece. Everything was perfect

• Cynthia (10/5): Such hospitality, warmth and beautiful surroundings, you'll want to return - It's a beautiful place in a beautiful, quiet area. It has everything you need to cook, relax and really feel at home. You can feel the extra effort Dora and her family and staff put into the property to make it comfortable, special, and relaxing. Importantly, you can see the extra measures that are taken for cleanliness. Everyone is genuinely friendly, very personable, and respectful. Don't forget to try the homemade food. I actually planned on cooking, but Dora's pies and salads were what I craved. I generally don't eat capers or onions, but those in the salad were sweet and really delicious. All ingredients local. There's also a beautiful breakfast spread for a very reasonable price with homemade marmalades and fresh ingredients. She also keeps the fridge at reception well stocked with drinks and snacks. I got the seaview room, which was simple and perfect. Hot water all day, if you need it. Good water pressure. Fresh towels and linens. Small tables to eat inside and outside. I think from all the rooms you can hear the waves at night. There are two small beaches about a 1-min walk from the property. One is sandy the other rocky. Both super chill. Bus stop is right in front. WiFi is excellent. I could have videocalls, so if you're thinking of a place to work from for a week or so, this was more than I could imagine. Having a swim on my lunch break was paradise. Most of all, the hospitality. It's just a warm place with such good energy. I'm definitely going to return. I wish I stayed longer.

• Michelle (10/5): exceptional and peaceful, amazing host - the owner is so friendly, she made our stay so pleasurable and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. the hotel is super cute, right on a beautiful beach and very close to a bus stop. the cheese and spinach pies made by Dora were amazing, would definitely recommend. not the property - if you stay in Syros it is highly recommended to rent a car or a moto, or else just be very patient with the public transportation system as it is not very reliable and does not run all day (hard to find a bus after 5-6)

• Sarah (10/5): welcoming and relaxing stay :) - Dora was really kind and welcoming to us. She always had time for their hosts :) The first day she gave us some maps and told us lots of tips about beaches, restaurants and things to visit in the town of Syros. Our apartment was always clean (shower curtain disinfected at the arrival, frequent change of towels,...). They really take care of us in a lovely way! It's possible to have some delicious handmade snacks (pizza, panini, spinach pie, greek salad) prepared from Dora and to eat them in the terrace of the hotel. Spinach pie was the best for me !! In case of daily trips, Dora prepared for us a breakfast box :) We loved the little beach near the hotel :) Thank you very much for all dear Dora and a big thank you also to all the collaborators ;) Hope we will come back soon ! Sarah and Brunella All was perfect for us ! Pay attention that the bus passes twice per hour in front of the hotel, but it needs some patience because time of arrival of the bus is flexible. Just relax and take it easy, it will come ;) Otherwise a taxi can get you where you want ;)

• Verified traveler (10/5): geräumiges Haus in Strandnähe - Vielen Dank nochmal an Dora und Anna für den wunderschönen Aufenthalt in ihrem Guesthouse. Da ich mit meinen Kindern ohne Auto unterwegs war, wurden wir von Anna an der Fähre abgeholt und auch wieder dort hin gebracht, das alles lief reibungslos. Wir fühlten uns sofort sehr wohl in Doras Studios. Anna erklärte uns alle Highlights von Syros, somit wußten wir sofort wie und wo wir hin müssen. Die Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Haus war ideal um die Insel zu erkunden.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful - Excellent stay at Dora's. Clean quiet and comfy. Fully equipped and in walking distance to a small beach (Recommended for a quick dive, not a day in sun beds). Tip: Try the hand made pies. Cheese or spinach both delicious! Dora is a very pleasant hostess.
• cornapple (10/5): Loved it! - So originally I wanted to visit Patmos but I couldn't find any ferry tickets to return to Athens before my plane home. I told the ticket lady to just send me anywhere. I was sent to Syros. I wasn't looking forward to it too much as I was still disappointed I couldn't go to Patmos, but that all changed as soon as I got there. Ms. Dora was so welcoming when I got to the hotel. The location is so beautiful. I am a single woman and when I read the reviews they were all by families, so I said... "maybe not for me." but it was the cheapest I could find on hotels.com (and I want my free night) so I booked with Dora Hotel. Besides the hotel, the whole island was beautiful. The beach is just RIGHT THERE. The sky is SO blue. And when I returned back to the hotel late and needed a snack there was Dora to provide me with some chips and a juice. The next day I rolled out of bed into my bathing suit and hit the beach! People were so nice, I even met a nice guy who showed me the island! The rooms are like little apartments so there was a stove and a table and a little day bed. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and there is an air conditioner. There's also a little front porch of your own. Nice sized bathroom. The only problem was the internet, but seriously if you're staying here and WANT (not need) to use the internet, you have some problems. I really loved it here and I hope I make it back to Syros again one day, and I would definitely stay here again.
• Anu (10/5): We would stay again - An idyllic, small hotel in Megas Gialos. The room was tidy, nicely furnished and in a good condition. There was a friendly atmosphere in the hotel, and Dora who runs the place was very helpful with car renting and everything. Outside the hotel there's a small rocky beach and a bus stop. The bus to Ermoupolis takes about 25-30 min and it runs until midnight. Megas Gialos sandy beach is within a 10 min walk. There are not too many services in Megas Gialos but you can buy bottled water and snacks at the hotel. Also there's a taverna right next to the hotel.
