Guest Reviews
- Joline (8/5): -
- Luke (1/5): The property has mold covered up by a layer of paint. It is the first thing you smell when you walk in. Had to wash all - Parking next to the hotel room door Mold, horrible smelly room
- Maria (5/5): -
- Guest (5/5): -
- Johanna (10/5): -
- Himpel (8/5): - Location, and the clean rooms
- Cynthia (4/5): - The staff was awesome, the beds were comfy. The fact that they do a $50 deposit and I don't know if all the rooms are like this but I go to pull the blinds down and either the housekeeping or the previous person broke the blinds and tried hiding it by trying to put it back through the string, they fell down. There was scratches and gouges around the sink and bathtub hidden by the towels, all I know is I took pictures of everything and told front desk and they said oh I'm fine they know about it but yet they still haven't gave me back my deposit, so I'm assuming they know about those problems but charge people the deposit as if we were the ones who did it... It's bull... And the water was freezing when I showered in the morning... Definitely will not stay there again!!! š š”
- Smith (10/5): Very pleased and will be staying here again at the next baseball tournament coming up. - The room was clean, stocked with everything you would need for a weekend stay. We even had a minor issue with connection to our tv but the maintenance man was there immediately to help resolve our issue. The service was awesome. The only issue we had was our neighbor was a cigarette smoker and would smoke in their car right next to the doors instead of the smoking area by the curb.
- Rita Muriel (1/5): Inconforme - Lo normal No servĆa el aire acondicionado
- Alyssa (8/5): -
- Sigi (4/5): Air conditioning did not work, no pool as advertised ..not quite ready seemed to still be in remodel - No dishes to use or cooking utensils
- SUSAN (1/5): very poor - Seemingly homeless people living at the facility and making a lot of noise ALL NIGHT - I even worried about my car being outside . . they were on some balconies or something and loud and jive talking stuff . . How does a Motel allow that and then charge other people a price to stay without advising how it would be to stay there . . . Very poor business practice . . I am in the area off and on and will never stay there again.
- Travis (8/5): -
- Wade (1/5): - We were sent to another hotel (a sister property) due to renovation. The property was a low rent apartment complex. There was no AC despite being advertised. The office was not helpful in supplying a fan or any other cooling.
- Lucetta (5/5): You get what you pay for. No wifi, barely parking, somewhat clean rooms. - I liked it was a low in price They did not have wifi, some of our lights didn't work. The bathtub was still dirty and had water in the tub. I mean it was clean like the floors by the beds but their was damage in the room before we got their. Also the dogs kept barking and the door had about a inch or 2 of light under the doorway. Also very little parking where my room was.
- Marrs (5/5): -
- Sallie m (6/5): -
- Molly (8/5): Request a room far away from construction! - Itās clean, safe, well-located for our mission (outlet mall shopping) The building is undergoing renovations. In the morning of our stay, at 8 am, construction started outside our room. Weāre talking Jackhammers, throwing debris around, nailing. Paintings above our beds moved. When I went outside to ask the workers to quiet down, they said they didnāt speak English. The hotel clerk told my friend to have a nice day when she spoke with her
- Weirman (6/5): -
- Kim (9/5): Nice place to stay. - New & clean, good rates. Spiders
- Brian (8/5): -
- Mukilan (10/5): - The room looked bright and freshly remodeled with new furniture. Staff was friendly and the Wi-Fi in our assigned room was excellent. We found the bed to be very comfortable - great mattress choice! The location was convenient for our travel plans with quick access to a number of restaurants and grocery stores in town, and the freeway close by. Our room was quiet.
- Brian (8/5): -
- Tisher (8/5): -
- Rose (10/5): - The staff was super friendly and attentive
- Seana (9/5): Overall I had a decent time and slept well. Itās noisier than one would expect. And they wonāt clean your room if you st - I like the decor Some of the lights didnāt work and the shower sprayed across the bathroom. There was an empty soda bottle under the bed that didnāt belong to me. Makes me think they donāt really clean thoroughly.
- Jean (10/5): - Check in at night, no idea of exterior.
- Erica (10/5): - It was great will come back soon
- Amber (6/5): Overall it's ok but they need nicer staff and working facilities. - Its decorated cute, clean enough and the bed was pretty comfortable if you can sleep on a memory foam style mattress. Booking.com let me book a King room and when I got to the Varsity Inn North I was charged the price of a King room upgrade because booking showed me photos of a room and everything. But the lady at the desk said the whole place has no king rooms was very rude about it to my husband and said only the sister location has King rooms and its an error online. She never said sorry or offered to lower our price even though we got a very basic double bedroom. We let it go, but I wish they could have offered something for the error. Check in took about 15 minutes just for the lady to even talk to us and then another 10 after that...it felt tense and unwelcoming. Not everything in the room worked or functioned correctly. The pool is closed and construction is still in the process. only half the building is finished and the front desk area is still not complete.
- Kenneth (4/5): Black mold - Sadly a brand new refurbished room had Black mold in the bathroom, a big spot. Light switch that didn't work, bathroom plug that had no power. To top that all off the manager was smoking at the main entrance which stunk up going to the office.
- Simon (6/5): - The property didnāt have AC during a blistering summer. If it had carried AC, my experience would have been much more different.
- BRANDI (10/5): Iāll be back! - Great location, super clean, and the staff were friendly. Nothing. Everything was great.
- Guenther (4/5): Not staying again - Just remodeled The pool wasn't open
The breakfast wasn't open
And they rent out the top floor as apartments and they were noisy until 3 am
- Melissa (1/5): Upstairs rooms have been converted to apartments 2 dogs in room above mine barked all night no sleep - Ithe room was very clean and the ac worked really good The whole entire night dogs were barking in the room above us. Woke me up 4 times. At 3:30am I complained to the front desk. Had multiple video recordings from my room where you could hear how loud the dog barking and chewing on what sounded lime my roof. I had 2 emotional support teacup yorkies that are 5 lbs each that i have paperwork on from my doctor that i have to have with me for my anxiety and depression. They charged me 20$ per dog to stay. THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW. ALSO My dogs didnt bother anyone!! When i complained to front desk i was told they are apartments above me so there was nothing they cohld do about the dogs above my room barking and chewing and scraping the floor all night. I never could go back to sleep after being woke up at 3:30am. It also scared my dogs the entire night they were shaking on edge.unable to relax. Which didnt help my anxiety either! Before check out i went to the office was told nothing they could do because the apartments on second flokr were ran by a different manager. I said something shoukd be done. Either a free night in a different room i thought was more than fair. They staff at the front desk was very rude and said nothing should could do. So nothing was going to be done. I played the videos from inside my room and she was just rude! Very horrible experience!!
- Peter (8/5): will stay again inthe future - Very nice decore.
- Richard (10/5): - friendly , clean, wondeful room for the night. will make this a regular stop on my trip driving South.
- Holly (9/5): Pleasant, friendly, somewhat difficult to find at first. - Did not have breakfast; uncertain it was even offered yet. Full renovations not complete as yet so some items like ice buckets in the room not there yet. However, they provided us with good, cold bottles of drinking water!
- Joe (10/5): - The staff was kind and courteous and gave me recommendations on where to eat. They're recently renovated room was well worth the budgeted price tag.
- Juanita (9/5): Good - Clean Highway noise
- Heidi (10/5): - Newly renovated rooms. Comfy bed & clean bedding & towels. Mabe upgrade the tub/shower & toliet seat. Its quiet even near the freeway. Safe & secure parking right in front of my room. Besides the guests right above my room doing parcor jumps with kids & dogs until late at night. I recommend this hotel.
- Kazue (4/5): - There was NO hot water in our room's shower. We found out one hour before checking out time, so we could not take shower before we leave.
- Doubrava (8/5): -
- Teresa (6/5): - Staff wasn't rude, but not very friendly. The room has recently been remodeled, but some things were not completed or not done correctly. The room wasn't dirty, but housekeeping needs to pay closer attention to things. Little things were left unattended. Not a horrible place to stay for a night.
- trinidad (10/5): - Staff is amazing
- Gayle (4/5): - Noisy , bathroom fecal matter on toilet, no breakfast as advertised, tub soap tray minuscule, no stopper in bathtub, no ice available, big gaps on door, no phones in room had to put clothes back on and walk to office, window was unlocked when we got in room. The first room deadbolt wouldnāt lock and door sweep was not on missing screws, moved us to another room so we had to repack etc.I gave manager this list. Hotel is in process of being remodeled. I was going to rent 3 rooms next weekend but talked to friends and they chose to find another place. The only positive thing I could say is that bedding, pillows and bed was very comfortable. Iām not blaming gal at counter or manager as she said she would pass on info to owner.I requested some compensation but said Iād have to go through Expedia as I booked with you. We had been in the car for hours and just wanted to have a bedtime cocktail and had to get dressed and go to office, no ice machineš” someone had left an open bag of ice, she didnāt know who so I got enough for a couple of drinks. Also frig had no freezer so leftover ice melted.
- Johnson (10/5): -
- Jason (10/5): - What a pleasent experience. The Varsity is on the move. They are sinking some money into this place and it shows. My room was clean, spacious, quiet and completly remodeled. All for $70.00 a night. Friendly staff and a clean well light parking lot was a bonus.
- Reina (10/5): - Our stay was great! Love the renovated rooms!
- Rachel (10/5): - The check in was incredibly quick and easy. The room was clean and the beds comfy.
- Deborah (8/5): - Hotel very quite, did not hear street noise
- Steven (2/5): - Shower not working. Repairman came at night and then broke tub. So no way to bathe!
- Steven (4/5): - Rooms are not yet QUITE finished, nor is parking lot, yet they rented us room anywzy.
- Joseph (9/5): - They are in the middle of a remodel. Our room was very recently updated and looked great. The other hotels nearby are pretty run down.
- Scott (4/5): - The staff were fine, but the room and facilities were awful, even for a freeway-side motel. The bathroom was dirty with holes in the walls, the shower curtain rod wasn't attached to the wall, and there was mold around the floor trim. The exterior door did not seal properly, you could see light around all for edges. Since the door faced the freeway this meant LOUD traffic noise all night. Also, the prices seemed to be jacked up for an event in the town that weekend, adding insult to injury....
- Russell (1/5): Gross - Nothing The place is under construction. I walked into the room and the carpet was falling apart, black stains on the chair and the place smelled. I never even turned the lights on.
- Becky (2/5): Staff was nice enough to give us a refund and we left. - Tons of visible bed bugs and another type of bug that when squished left a blood mark on the sheets
- Durwesh (1/5): Will absolutely never stay here again. - Nothing False advertising. Booked one location, told us we are to stay at another. The location we stayed at was essentially halfway housing. Not safe. Room was unclean. Advertised AC, did not have AC.
- Michelle (1/5): Bad - Clean room, comfortable bed Wifi and air conditioning didn't work. Very uncomfortable. Couldn't open the window to even get a breeze
- Lauri (6/5): A safe place to sleep, renovations in progress - Convenient location, safe. The air conditioner worked and felt awesome after a very hot day. They are in progress with renovations on the building currently. Our room was clean but one of the bathroom lights didnāt work and the shower head was loose (but still worked ok), the single little rolling office style chair in our room was tiny and awkward.
Iām hopeful that once the renovations are complete the place will be much better; although I was happy to actually find a room on this busy weekend, maybe this room wasnāt quite ready to be offered?
- Michelle (1/5): Worst hotel experience ever - Clean room, comfortable bed I was put in a different hotel other than what i booked. The air conditioning and wifi didn't work. Windows wouldn't open. We were very uncomfortable after a 100 Mike bike ride. Awful.
- Michael (2/5): Worst hotel experience I have had. This hotel should not be available for rent until they fix all their problems. - Location The room was not clean
Tile floor was dirty
All the furniture looked like it had been pulled from a dumpster
The chair provided was stained and dirty and torn open like a cat or dog had clawed/chewed it
The bedside lamp was broken so it was dark
The curtains were broken and hanging oddly
The light in the bathroom over the sink/mirror didnāt work so I couldnāt see to shave
The tv remote was laying on bed broken (missing battery cover and had no batteries)so I struggled to change channels on the tv
The floor was so dirty I had to wear sandals to go from bed to bathroom
My reservation included breakfast and they were doing a major remodel and wouldnāt provide one
I couldnāt cancel because it was the Seattle to Portland bike ride and all rooms sold out
This hotel shouldnāt be an option on booking.com ⦠horrible experience
- Anthony (4/5): - Bed has a finger print of red stuff on it; not sure if it was blood or what, but a ācleanā room ready to occupy shouldnāt have that. Also, shower had long black hair in the tub, Iām a bald man. AC didnāt really work, room was 80+ all night.
- Louis (2/5): - Hotel checked me in before I arrive. This hotel should not open itās still under construction and renovation. Tried to give me a room just finish, full of construction dust and heavy paint smell. I did not stay and get my refund from Expedia.
- Debra (6/5): - They are doing construction at the site . Made it impossible to find the office. False advertisement had no pool no breakfast and no ice.
- Barbara (5/5): Cheap for a reason.. - Good location, close to where we needed to be for our basketball tournament. It wasn't very clean and most of it was under construction. We came in late and it was dark and I couldn't find the check in office (a trailer in the front with very little signage).
- Kelly (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (2/5): - This place was scary. Broke down cars in the parking lot. Obviously people living there. Itās under going a renovation but there are no signs pointing to the temporary office. Felt like we were being watched to see what could be stolen from us. I am a retired cop and always travel with protection, I did not feel safe staying there. My son and I found a different place to stay.
- Stephen (8/5): - Excited to see the remodeling
- Childers (10/5): Exceptional -
- A (5/5): Passable -
- Henry (3/5): no bathtub and bed to small
Very Disappointed, would never stay here again - had a small range to cook on the bed was too small a twin bed for two people is not big enough,no bat. tub,the old king Oscars had bathtub when I reserved the room it stated a bathtub when I got there they sent me to the other propreoty about mile away when I got there and called my girlfriend told her where I was,the room was new just been remodeled you could smell the fresh paint and there was stuff in the draws still wall plates a outlet, miss.nuts and bolts, very disappointed about bathtub, that's what it stated in the ad,who rents a room with a twin to someone that just told you that my girlfriend was coming down to be with me that night
- Craig (2/5): - The place is fatigued and a dump. The reviews are dishonest and do not represent reality. Trash was strewn about the property, the bathroom had a previous tenants shampoo bottle tops in the tub area indicating a lousy cleaning job. The window curtains were filled with holes. The list goes on. I definitely recommend staying somewhere else. Anywhere else.
On that note they are beginning to remodel the front half of the motel, but tenants stay in the dumpy half.
- Dayle (4/5): - It wasnt like the picture and the door locl was smashed in
- Doughboy (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything. No wifi. A/c didn't work in any of the rooms, so they couldn't move us. Supposed to be a queen size bed, It was a twin. Pool and jacuzzi were closed.
- Shannon (3/5): Poor - The shower
- Tiffany (5/5): Decent for a place to sleep - Friendly staff, decent rates, clean for the most part, but it was a place to sleep. Loud, some of the surroundings seemed a little sketchy , pretty run down.
- Anita (2/5): - Cons: The motel is under construction so I was put on the side next to the freeway. It was so loud it seemed like the door was open all night. People seem to live there on the ground floor. Very sketchy. Will not go back.
Pros: Low price, take cash.
- Sasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant - Most of the motel is undergoing renovation and is a construction zone but it was still quiet and I didnāt feel like my private space was being invaded. The room looked and smelled clean and everything was in order. Canāt really complain as the renovated area looks like itāll be pretty nice when itās done.
- Nick (2/5): - This hotel is largely being renovated. (Walls, floors, plumbing, electrical, being replaced.) They do not require a deposit. There is construction noise. I checked in at a construction trailer (the clerk was very nice.) I went to my room, in the back of the property, in the unrenovated building. There was a woman smoking on the steps right in front of my door. The tile floor was greasy. The furniture was sticky. I called the desk, and held the room phone away from my face, and checked out . She was nice, and refunded me. I stayed at the Cozy Inn, which was perfect.
To the nice woman at the desk, I'm sorry for this bad review. You were the best part of my experience. (Thanks!)
- Cook (10/5): Had a great stay I would recommend To my friends - Everything was clean, staff was awesome the shower heads should be updated with hand held
- Brenda (4/5): Disappointing -
- Chris (4/5): - Wouldnt recommend
- Karin (7/5): Inexpensive place to lay your head while travelling through. - Updated unit with kitchenette. It was quiet. A little bit sketchy in terms of the area and other guest and tenants. No pots, pans, plates or utensils - if I had known, I would have brought stuff along but instead we needed to buy things in order to use the kitchen.
- Kariuki (1/5): Bad -
- Brown (3/5): Bad - I did not like it because the room wasn't clean and everything like that yeah it wasn't a very good stay I would recommend not staying there again the The room was filthy
- Kristine (9/5): Well worth the price! - So the hotel is undergoing a MASSIVE renovation. Through all of it the staff is friendly, accommodating and always trying to be as cheerful as possible. The rooms are very good size, excellent hot water and pressure, quiet for being so close to the freeway and comfy beds. If you want Marriot or Hilton- this isn't it, but its a great value for the price and the neighbors are friendly. Difficult to say with all the renovations going on...I mean there is noise but thats why windows close!
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Ashley (6/5): - The room was a little dirty but wasnt horrible. Could definitely be cleaner and i do believe they're doing upgrades.
- Kathryn (7/5): Good -
- Rebecca (1/5): Just a bad experience and dishonest expectation setting. - Location was good. There was supposed to be breakfast included in the price, but we were told it was not due to major constructions. It was difficult to find the check-in shipping container (!!), the laundry wasn't working (also due to construction), and until we got there we were not told that everything is under renovation.
We got a room that smelled of smoke (we are not smokers), and even though we don't have a pet, we were in the part of the motel that has dogs all around. There was one dog barking in the room next to ours and wouldn't stop.
I'd never go to this motel again and would never recommend it. In fact, I'd like a partial refund for all that trouble and am sure that I won't get it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting. Never again. - This hotel was disgusting. Property is fenced around dilapidated buildings, drug deal in the parking lot, mattresses outside, Office in a construction shack. List of people that they cant rent to out for everyone to see. Absolutely would never ever go back.
- Jesus (8/5): You get what you pay for but over all I'd stay again - No breakfast Coffee machines dirty
- Caitlin (8/5): - They were under a remodel so some services were not available. But the room was decent and the beds were not terrible. Last minute option this was better than what was original.
- Michael (5/5): Passable -
- Tomat (1/5): We were in Centralia for a volleyball tournament- it was me and my 3 kids. Needless to say we got our money back. - Nothing, it was actually concerning. They are under full renovation, maybe, and you canāt find the office. Lots of homeless and drug activity. The room smelled like butt, p*#%y and cigarettes. This should be a by the hour facility. Not kid friendly.
- Janice (10/5): - Staff is wonderful. On property laundry is super convenient.
- Brager (3/5): Poor -
- Osvaldo (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ryan (6/5): Worn down motel, no pool, ok room - Pulling up to this place, every part of my reptile brain was telling me to turn around. It looked like it might be getting renovated but most of it, including the pool, was closed. The side facing the freeway was the only part open. Not the cute family motel seen in the photos. I was imagining a fight breaking out in the parking lot or my car getting broken into, but I'm glad we stuck it out. The double queen room was clean and comfortable enough for the price we paid. The only noises we heard in the night was the freeway, which was really loud. The pillows were strange clumps of fabric that my wife and I couldn't shape into anything comfortable but the kids seemed to sleep ok.
