• Lousy room (2/5): Dirty room - Lousy. One of the worst place to stay, even for a night. Room was so dirty, dusty. Bathroom not clean. Coffee cup stained from previous usage.
• Ugurhan (10/5): good hotel for the price - It was pretty good overall. Daily cleaning, sheets, towels were very clean and tidy. Wi-fi is just ok, i can say it was stable but definitely slow, even for video chat. Cafeteria ladies were super nice and helpful, there wasn't many breakfast choice but i think they're good. My room looked bit old and smell damply but cleanliness and tidiness saved it. Location wise, i wouldn't say it is in the centre of georgetown, walking to old town would take half an hour at least or can take a bus. Nice area though, modern side of the town, also close to china town, lots of nice restaurants about 10 minutes of walking distance.
• Lee (8/5): Good Value for money - The whole hotel has been retrofitted and refurbished.....new beds, mattress and brand new bathroom. Nice residential neighbourhood and easy to get a cab during the day. Helpful and friendly staff. Free wifi too.

• Irene (8/5): Great stay. - Comfortable bed with quiet air con and clean environment. Only two choice for breakfast and there's nothing else to eat around the area. Food is decent if not fussy. Have to take Uber or Grab where ever I want to go. It was a decent place for the amount I pay. Not for luxury seeker though. Will stay there again.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Only one word I can say 'SATISFIED' - On the last February, I have booked other hotel at another site. Before arrival date in two days, the site have cancelled my booking due to my credit card could not be charged. I was very upset. After that , I try to search hotel in hotels.com site to book another hotel. Finally I find hotel that under my budget and the review was very good. Before arriving, various matters in my mind think about this hotel. Upon arrival, from receptionist place until enter room, everything is very satisfied. Room that is so comfortable, air conditioner like clockwork and toilet also clean. Wifi was very fast. This hotel also very close to food area especially Nasi Kandar. You only need to use GPS only LOL. I'm a Muslim. Only two matters only I want the comment this hotel is breakfast and Kiblat. Cafe located in this hotel not stated halal sign and I understand it unsuitable to Muslims. Direction on the other hand I merely using application to indicating Kiblat. So if there is friends Islamic that wish to take a holiday in Penang can tailored in this hotel, no doubt. Overall I and very satisfied husband stay in this hotel to 3d2n as I in Penang.

• WK Grace (6/5): - YMCA Penang is a pleasant place for travelers who just want a simply comfortable place to stay for a night or two. Check-in and check-out is fast and simple. Its location is rather central, good for people who come for business purposes.
• CATHERINE (2/5): Horrible accommodations for the high price! - The first night we checked in it took 45 minutes. Night clerk couldn't find our reservation. Air condition did not work at all, when we complained they said there was no one to look at it. Front desk personnel had no personality at all. When we complained about the air condition, she couldn' care less. We were told they gave us the wrong room to begin with and charged me an extra $50 ( ringgit). When I cancelled my other booking for the next 2 nights , I was charged an extra 90 ringgi even when I cancelled way in advance. The 2nd night Tv wouldn't work in a different room and a very drunk maintenance man said he couldn't fix it.

• hyejin (8/5): ymca호스텔 - 혼자 초등아이둘을 데리고 떠난 여행이었습니다 위치는 초행이면 찾기 힘든곳이지만 깨끗하고 금액도 저렴해서 만족했습니다 창밖으로 큰 나무들이 우거져 예뻤고 조용한곳에 위치해 소음은 전혀없었습니다 다만 여행하고 밤에 돌아올땐 너무 외진곳이고 주위에 편의시설이 전혀없어 밤에 목이 말랐지만 참았습니다 여러가지로 만족했지만 글쎄요.... 다음엔 시끄러워도 오고가기 편한 꼼따주위로 예약해야겠습니다
• Verified traveler (6/5): 불친절한 데스크 직원, 깨끗한 객실, 괜찮은 조식 - 객실은 깨끗하고 건물도 비교적 좋은편이었으나, 데스크 직원은 불친절하고 체크인시간이 훌쩍 지날때까지 청소가 않되어 기다리고 있었는데도 나몰라라 하고 있었음. 특히 차이니즈아주머니.. 주변에 대해 물어보니 무뢰하다 싶을정도로 굉장히 불친절하여 당황스러웠음. 영어 발음이 엉망임. 실제 청소하시는 분들은 다들 좋은신것 같음.

• veli (4/5): Lokasi strategis bagi yang ingin ke IslandHospital - Lokasi sangat strategis bagi yang ingin ke Island Hospital. Air minum tersedia non stop. Lokasi tempat untuk dinner sekitar 1,7km, di satu jalan yang sama. Karpet kamar bau, per kasur sudah banyak yang rusak sehingga badan sakit ketika bangun tidur. Hot water untuk shower menggunakan lock on off.

• Jorence (6/5): A hostel - Quite inconvenient if you don't own your vehicle. The nearest bus stop is quite a distance away. The bed caused me backaches... and some staffs are not efficient and rude. There's room to improve.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Room quality - With the presence rate charged by the hostel, I think guests deserve better beds and room facilities. Other than the room is newly carpeted and with renovated bath room, there is not much changes compare same room 15 years ago.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Good for short stay - Room was clean but the hotel is dated. Breakfast had only 2 choices, fried noodle or sandwich. If you are not too picky then the breakfast is adequate. Overall this is hotel is value for money to stay.

• Ben (8/5): Good Budget Hotel - Overall a pleasant experience. Aircond is cold. Beds comfy. They have astro channels ESPN and Starmovie so u wun really get bored. Internet wise is sufficient enough to facebook, email, though i didnt stream , Speedtest was 4MBPs. Breakfast was either bread cheese ham or a plate of fried noodle with egg. Enough for me i guess. The room is spacious, aircond is good. Value for money. Location wise is very near the hospital,u can walk there, recommdend if u have smtg in the hospital. But in Penang, preferable u rent a car, cause if not, will be difficult to go around. Free parking in the hospital btw. Check out time is strictly 12 pm, or they will charge u rm80 , but the person manning the counter was nice enough to let me go at 1 pm without any surcharge. Good value for such a old hotel but clean.
