• Raffaele (4/5): - Premesso che la camera fosse l’economy. Stanza Rumorosa, assenza di privacy tra noi e i vicini di stanza. Bagno inconcepibile per il 2025, doccia sprovvista di cabina a ridosso di finestra water e bidet, presente una tendina a dir poco inutile, post doccia impossibile utilizzare i servizi senza prima dover aspettare che si asciughi. Colazione dalle 8 alle 11, ma senza comunicare che è FINO AD ESAURIMENTO SCORTE, raggiunta la sala alle ore 9/9:15 giá praticamente terminato quasi tutto. Due stelle grazie alla signora delle pulizie, cordiale e sorridente che incontrata tra le scale dei 3 piani (a piedi) almeno sollevava un pó il morale da tutto quello di cui sopra.

• Costel (6/5): - Es hat einen Führung Wechsel stattgefunden, ich war schon 4x dort und das letzte vor 2 Jahren. Dieses mal war katastrophal: Handtücher wurden 3 x in 10 Tagen gewechselt, warmes Frühstück kommt erst um 08:30 an und sauber wars auch nicht und kaputtes Mobiliar .

• Olympia (10/5): - The front desk people were very helpful and patient. We were very close to downtown and could buy a converter just a few blocks from the hotel. It is a nice property with cute balconies. Breakfast at the terrace was nice and relaxing.

It just so happens that the sea right across from it has a sewage line and walking towards it from under the bridge was a nasal nightmare. With a car you are absolutely okay to stay here because you can drive to a cleaner swimming spot.

Receptionist said she was going to fix a/c & tv never did. Also asked to change room to lower floor. Her response was no, because we booked an economy room with Expedia. And we couldn’t lock door. We checked out a day earlier. 6 flights of stairs.

Abbiamo fatto la doccia e oltre alle tende di plastica che personalmente odio, l'acqua usciva con pochissima pressione. Non è presente l'ascensore. Pulizzia scarsissima.

Il receptionist c'era solo la mattina e 4 ore la sera fino alle 8. Oltre non c'era nessuno. Tanto che la coppia a fianco a me aveva bisogno in quanto non si apriva la porta della Camera e mi son ritrovata presente allo sfondamento di essa da parte dei clienti stessi. Acqua che smette di funzionare da un momento all'altro mentre sei sotto la doccia e scarico che mostrava rumori sinistri durante tutta la notte in quanto doveva (ricaricarsi?). Per me come hotel vale, ma non vale per come viene tenuto. Personale cordiale ma poco disponibile

I had to catch a ferry to the Aeolian islands at 7AM so I couldn’t take advantage of it the first day. Also no coffee machine or refrigerator in the room. Only one vending machine in the building with no coffee. Despite everything, the view of Stromboli from my room was priceless!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Un appoggio vicino a Tropea - Posizione buona vicina a Tropea, struttura rinnovata, ma mobilio antiquato (es. tv mivar). Colazione abbondante ma di bassa qualità. Il servizio notturno è stato celere nel procurarci una nuova chiave dato che avevamo perso la nostra.

L'unica piccola pecca è che scegliendo una camera economy (ultimo piano mansardato) è giusto che siano economy con qualche downgrade rispetto alle altre, tra cui anche il televisore che non è stato utilizzato in quanto un Mivar da 10 pollici a tubo catodico con mini decoder per il digitale terrestre non funzionava minimamente e probabilmente aveva una interferenza con il telecomando del condizionatore. L'unica cosa che dico, si economy ok, ma un piccolo TV di nuova generazione (al plasma da 10 pollici si trova) e una pulizia maggiore al condizionatore ed al filtro andrebbe fatta. Questa due piccole migliorie renderebbe una economy degna di tale nome. Ripeto, la stanza era comoda, ma essendo all'ultimo piano era più calda, sarebbe stato gradito un condizionatore in po' più pulito. Il televisore invece non era necessario però un piccolo TV che sai che funziona era giusto per seguire le notizie del TG. Per il resto (pulizia, cambio asciugamani, ecc) era tutto in regola, precisi e puntuali.

Albergo nel complesso buono con un bel terrazzo dove vi erano poltrone comode belle piante con fiori. Parcheggio comodo ma fuori hotel davano la possibilità di scaricare i bagagli. • Domenico (6/5): - Abbiamo soggiornato in questo Hotel dal 7 al 13 settembre, al nostro arrivo notiamo una struttura ben tenuta. Dopo aver effettuato il check in ci viene assegnata una stanza al terzo piano nonostante la mia prenotazione prevedesse una stanza al piano ammezzato.Il primo problema sorge dal fatto che l’hotel è privo di ascensore.La stanza che ci viene assegnata è completamente difforme dalle foto presenti su internet sia nelle dimensioni che nell’arredo (supponiamo che il terzo piano non sia stato oggetto di ristrutturazione a differenza dei primi due). I problemi sorgono alla prima doccia che non avendo un box allaga completamente la stanza e dalla presenza di un vecchio condizionatore posizionato in direzione del testa letto quindi avrei dovuto scegliere tra dormire fresco ma con la paura di una paresi facciale o non dormire per il caldo.Passata la prima notte chiediamo di cambiarci camera e per fortuna veniamo sistemati in una stanza al secondo piano che rispecchia quanto si vede nelle foto. Infatti è più grande e funzionale ma sempre con l’assenza di un box doccia. Il cambio degli asciugamani avviene tutte le mattine, ma purtroppo non viene effettuata una reale pulizia della stanza (quindi la sabbia si accumulava durante il soggiorno).La colazione è buona ed abbondante.Lo staff cortese e disponibile.In sintesi il soggiorno è stato abbastanza piacevole però consigliamo una maggiore attenzione a questi dettagli in quanto pensiamo che la struttura abbia un enorme potenziale.

L'unico problema è stato al momento del check out il quale c'è stato un malinteso, in quanto sulla prenotazione expedia è presente come orario di check out le ore 24 mentre in realtà è alle ore 11 e non ci era stata riferita l'ora corretta per liberare la camera.

• Mark (10/5): Friendly staff, and super value for money - We booked this hotel for a really good price and it turns out to be probably the best value hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel is easy to find, situated a few minutes walk through town (passing restaurants and shops) from Santa Domenica train station. On arrival we were immediately given a room upgrade. The room was nice, with access to a very large balcony with sea views shared with the rooms either side. Breakfasts were included and these were good, and we liked the hotel and the staff so much we ate our evening meals there three nights - delicious food and good value for money. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the Riaci beach (part of it down quite a steep hill) and a 30-40 minute walk to nearby Tropea, a lovely old town with its own beach. It is also worth taking the train to Ricadi and walking to Capo Vaticano and the Grotticelle beach, plus take a trip to Pizzo as that is very nice. Note that Santa Domenica station doesn't have a ticket office or machine and they charge 5 Euros extra on board - we were let off that and had to jump off the train at another station to buy tickets. After that I downloaded the Trenitalia app to buy tickets in advance. In summary, we recommend the Hotel Umberto and would like to thank the staff there for being so welcoming.

They did not offer to have anyone assist us. Suite very dated. Shower dated and very small. Could move to get to my shampoo. Dirty.

We arrived in the middle of night with last train in Santa Domenica. With no map we successfully found hotel, which was 10 min walking from station. We asked locals where to find it and everybody knew this place. The lady of the house greeted us with smile and let us in, it was midnight. Breakfast was really good comparing with any other Italian hotels. It is also 15 minutes walking from amassing beach in Tropei. We had truly good experience and we extended our stay.
