• Eyob (2/5): - The front desk employees and the manager are the worst i ever seen. The rooms are bad and no hot water in the room to shower. Food is bad. They advertise that they have a shuttle but they don't send any one to pick you up from the airport. I had to pay money and take a taxi to the hotel where i stayed only 1 day. Wat a disgusting place and managers. I don't know how this hotel got 4 star!

• Sean (8/5): Great stay - Couple issues with the wifi and cable but for the price you expect some flaws. They made passwords required for wifi which made a huge difference in overall speed throughout the property. Still pleased with overall stay.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good Enough - The hotel is clean, the staff are helpful, some even going above and beyond. The food is decent in price, taste, and wait time and the wifi is great when too many other people are not on it. The laundry service is good and you can efficiently change money. There are many staff who do not speak english fully, so sometimes things get lost in confusion. It was initially difficult to get in touch with the hotel to coordinate the airport shuttle, until I was at the airport and a local tried several numbers for me. There was an issue with their key card system so I did not have a personal key my entire stay and had to be let into my room. Since my second room was nice, and quieter than my first without a key, I was not interested in moving to a third room with a manual key. The location was close to what I needed to do, so overall I was pleased enough with my stay.
• Ash (4/5): - I paid for a suite and I was given a regular room with broken locks. I came back and asked for a suite, they gave me very reluctantly. Even the suite room has a lot of broken things---mold, broken curtains and so forth. The internet was horrible!
• Rebecca (8/5): Not bad for the area, but I prefer Bole - Other reviewers have commented no shuttle was waiting for them upon arrival - I emailed and confirmed my airport shuttle several times, and it was indeed there when I arrived. I just didn’t know WHERE it was, and had to make several calls to find out. The poor driver was waiting for me for some time way outside the terminal. That being said, communication with the hotel via email was slow, if and when they actually responded to me. Staff were pleasant but speak only basic English. Currency exchange at the front desk is a bit below market rate. Rooms were clean and spacious (I had a twin) with a good view. Huge bathrooms and a fantastic shower/bath - hot with great pressure and lots of space. Free bottles of water left in the room every day. Restaurant food was mediocre and average prices for this kind of hotel - the breakfast was the exception (it was very good). Restaurant staff are super lovely, but don’t be afraid to check out some of the great little local restaurants just up the street to the left (25 birr injera meals). Cheap water is also sold at several shops nearby.
• Dana (10/5): - The staff here are top notch! The cleaning staff really made our room sparkling every time. The laundry service did a great job, and was fast. We ate the buffet many times and really enjoyed it. We would definitely stay here again. Only criticism is that the internet was slow. Other than that, really a great stay!

• Tori (10/5): Really comfortable hotel in nice area - We had a great stay in Sarem. The staff were very friendly and always went out of their way to help. The facilities were great- good gym, nice rooms, the food at the bar and restaurant was fantastic. The area where the hotel is located was really great- away from most of the tourist traffic so it was nice to walk around the streets and experience authentic local culture. Felt very safe. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

• Steven (8/5): Decent hotel - Excelletn quality hotel by African standards, with a good restaurant and bar. Service can be slow and confused, but this is Africa so nothing unusual there. Location is a bit of out the way but cabs to the centre are easy to find.

• Tobias Alexander (8/5): Acceptable services and friendly stuff - Good hotel which offers acceptable services for a fair price, especially if you compare the rates with other African hotels. Location is half an hour away from city centre, you can walk it in about 30 minutes or take a local bus (for about 10-20 Birr) or a taxi (for about 100-150 Birr). The hotel has a terrace on the roof which offers a nice view over the city and to Mount Entoto which is not far away from the hotel. There are some small shops arround were you can buy water or other fundamental things. The WLAN worked very stable, international phone calls were not possible due to unknown reasons. Staff is very friendly and tries to help in every situation.
• Flavio (6/5): Crafty - I chose this 4 star hotel to have connection with the airport included, including breakfast and wifi included. I booked for 2 nights and the cost of the room was immediately paid and confirmed. Upon my arrival at the hotel there was no car, I called and they told me to take a taxi which costs me would be refunded. Arrived at the hotel did not have a reservation and they wanted me pay even the price of the room. I rifiutto and the day after the reservation has jumped out. the departure would not reimburse the cost of the taxi, arguing that the service is only for bookings made with expedia, which is not true (see hotel site in hotel.com). I had the feeling that if they could trick you would. To avoid.

No problems with billing meals or currency exchange, and breakfast and dinner menus had enough variety to satisfy three fussy Western kids. While hotel front access was good including wheelchair ramp, surrounding street footpaths terribly broken up and would not be usable by folks with mobility constraints.
• Smizzo (6/5): A bit far from... - This is a nice hotel. The staff was very, very, very friendly and helpful. The only problem I had was the distance to the "action". If you like to party and club and drink, not your kind of place. Bole is about 40$ (round trip). If you do the math, you may come out better by adding the extra money to a different hotel. Also, no AC! This is the only bad thing I can say about this place.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt für äthiopische Verhältnisse auf alle Fälle. Das Inklusive-Frühstück ist sicher kein Hit, aber das Restaurant schon ´mal ein Abendessen wert.

• Mohamed Elabbar (4/5): accomodations & brakfast - I have many trip on the world , 4 stars is approx. fully facilities , but in this hotel no condotioner no heating system ,also breakfast not as international demands I have to tell you this hotel only for 2 or 2.5 rates . one day I have to breakfast , when I n=wanted milk the staff told me the is finished , this reason why I can put in 2 star or less .
• Russell (4/5): Terrible management - One day of Internet out of 8 days! Management wouldn't help restore the problem until I raised such a stink and then hey presto! It came back on. Phone didn't work in room and widow was broken along with brown water in shower. This is maybe a one star hotel. If it weren't for the other staff, it would have been a real disaster. There are way too many better hotels for the price in Addis. You have been warned!
• Robert (10/5): A very nice hotel - We stayed at the Sarem International Hotel at the start of an organized tour. The tour company probably uses this hotel for a quick and easy departure out of Addis Ababa to the north. The hotel is a long way out of the downtown area, and not convenient to any of the major tourist attractions; but the attractions tend to be scattered around town, so that isn't a major drawback. The hotel seems more for business than for tourists. All the staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating. A great buffet breakfast is included with the room.
• Libell (8/5): Bra alternativ - Vill man inte bo mitt inne i centrum eller på någon av de riktigt stora hotellen är det här ett utmärkt alternativ. Nytt! ja absolut, men slutfinichen håller ju inte europa klass precis. Hotellet är riktigt fint på lite håll men syna inte nära för ofta. Bra personal också. Alltid hjälpsamma och trevliga. Utanför hotellet kommer du direkt ut i det riktiga addis med kötthandlare och bilverkstäder tätt inpå varandra. Klart mycekt trevligare att gå ut här än vid Hilton där man ska genom säkerhetskontrollet och grindar för att sedan inte komma ut till något alls om man inte går en bit.

• C Fatch - Malawi (8/5): Great service - I I had an interesting time. I will start with improvements that are needed in my eyes. The WIFI- at the hotel was down the two days i stayed there,i had read on reviews on this hotel that someone else had posted and they also mentioned that they didnt have Wifi available, so i was disappointed that it was down when i arrived, the tv in my room had only a few channels without the option to pay for additional channels. The hotel was slightly further away from the airport than i expected. BUT honestly i had a good time, the spa massage service thats available is great, the gym was exactly what i needed. The service was first class from the staff, everyone of them was helpfully and went beyond for me,I was very happy and felt welcomed. The receptionists really went out of there way for me, The shuttle service was great and honestly i would not mind going back there in August when i next pass by addis ababa, if they guaranteed me that the WIFI was going to be working, plzzzz fix it! Thanks you for looking after me very well

• Ewa (8/5): Mycket trevlig personal - Rent och snyggt, prisvärt hotell och väldigt tillmötesgående personal. Enkel men god frukostbuffé med allt ifrån etiopiskt till ägg och frukt. Scrambled eggs el omelett på beställning, men ingår i priset. Lite tråkigt läge men bra utsikt.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Gutes Stadthotel mit Einschränkungen beim Essen - Eigentlich ein sauberes Hotel, der Service war gut und die Angestellten sehr um uns bemüht. Das Essen im Restaurant ist grundsätzlich ganz ok, wobei man mit den ein oder anderen Schwachstellen leben muss. Zum Beispiel war unser Abendessen teilweise kalt, die Butter war ranzing und das Frühstücksbuffet war wirklich lieblos aufgebaut und die Auswahl sehr begrenzt....
• Bill (8/5): Good Budget Option In Addis - The hotel had all the basics a Westerner would like in a hotel. It is not a luxury property but for the price it is a good option. It is clean, the staff is good and the restaurant is very nice.
• Sven B. (10/5): Modern, friendly, very well priced - Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was modern, new, spacious and definitely cheaper than in comparable other places in Addis Abeba. Breakfast was not exceptional, but ok. Unfortunately the internet was down at the time of my visit, but this will presumably change in the future. The hotel is located in the north of Addis Abeba, not too far from the national museum, but very far away from the Bole road and the airport.
• Umar (6/5): My Stay at Sarem Inter Hotel, Adis Ababa - I was embarrassed by the Night Duty Manager on the 28th of September 2013 . He claimed not receiving the hotel copy of my booking confirmation from Expedia and refused to call Expedia for confirmation, insisting that I must pay. I had to call Expedia myself using my cellphone before it was resolved by Expedia.

• Verified traveler (4/5): do not stay here!!! - I do not recommend anyone staying at this hotel. I m from US and stayed at Sarem for 6 nights starting July 8th. The hotel is atleast 25 mins from the airport and most activities. The staff is nice but room has no control over heating or air conditioning. My room was so cold I had to share a heater with another guest after repeatedly asking for one everday. The hotel is about 4 months old and they have a long way to go. wifi was out for hours practically everyday. Breakfast is ok. If you have a guest they want you to pay extra for them regardless of whether they spend the night or not. quite disappointed overall specially with the location. Plenty of options for around the same price near Bole airport.
