• Michael (8/5): Dejligt hotel med lækker pool - Smukt hotel, standen på hotellet er opdateret, dejlig pool, venligt og serviceminded personale. Personalet taler som udgangspunkt godt engelsk. Restauranten fungerer glimrende. Morgenmaden er for dyr i forhold til udvalg og kvalitet.
• Damien (2/5): Ne pas y aller - Très déçu Le cadre semble beau mais c’est oublier l’axe routier majeur qui était devant notre chambre. Je pense que nous avons eu la pire chambre pourtant qui s’appelle CONFORT Même depuis la piscine le bruit est désagréable. Nous avons eu un autre gros soucis pendant notre séjour en rentrant du restaurant, le soir l’hôtel était fermé. Nous n’avons pu contacter personne le téléphone tombait sur un répondeur . Personne ne nous avait prévenu de la fermeture de la réception à une certaine heure. Nous avons bien failli dormir dehors. Aussi le Domaine accueilli un mariage, les autres étaient particulièrement bruyant tard dans la nuit. Bref c’est un mauvais séjour malheureusement.
• PATRICIA (6/5): Attrape touristes - 1 seule prise dans toute la chambre et en plus qui sort du mur, aucune dans la salle de bain. Service du dîner hyper long pourtant 3 tables de 2 et 1 de 4 à servir. Photos sur le site mensongères, on vous présente une magnifique terrasse couverte avec plusieurs banquettes pour prendre l'apéritif, en fait elle est complètement abandonnée et sale (voir photo) Prix surévalué un véritable piege à touristes, sûr on ne reviendra pas.

Han hjalp med reservering af bord på restaurant, idet hotellets restaurant var lukket søndag aften. Rigtig dejligt at man kan gå direkte fra hotellet via små veje/stier til Pont du Gard. God parkering bag lukket port.

Le personnel est serviable et très accueillant, l’espace piscine est merveilleux et reposant et le restaurant nous a fait découvrir de délicieuses saveurs. Some of the grounds could do with a little more maintenance but it added to the more rustic charm. The A/C was a little loud too but on low, you could still get a good nights sleep. Other than those small points - I would 100% recommend staying here!

However the staff were not many. It felt more like a private villa than a hotel which was fine for our group and we had exclusive use of the pool each day. I would absolutely visit again.

• Anthony (10/5): Great stay for discerning travelers - I'm a global traveler (60 countries; international travel monthly) and an architect (who designs hotels), and my hotel benchmark is high: cleanliness without the sterility; warmth/authenticity without the kitsch; fresh without the trendiness; and gracious/luxe without the pomp and circumstance. Of the 8 hotels my 9-year old and I patronized over an 18-day trip across the South, La Bégude was not only an easy #1 but a place I will tell others to stay, should they find themselves anywhere in the vicinity. It's a charming farm-turned-resort, with gracious courtyards, buildings dripping with character, great food, clean, well-appointed rooms; and seamless service. It's the kind of place that makes me want to return.
• Roman (6/5): Spider Room - We booked 2 nights in a Suite and when we entered the room found the ceiling and curtains full of spiders. There is an old chimney in the living room and we suspected that this was the main entry point although spiders were basically to be found everywhere in this Hotel. We reported to the Management and they took immediate action to try and catch them and when made efforts to cover the Chimney. We have been offered apologies and to change the room for the 2nd night (the first night it was too late to change) from the Manager as well as the Onwer of the Properties which we appreciated. However due to the first impression we wanted to leave the Hotel the next day however were required to pay the full 2 nights stay. We found this note quite appropriate but understand their commercial decision as it was high season and they were fully booked. By the way the 2nd room had less Spiders but even worse, one of them dropped on to me in the middle of the night from the ceiling beams...Conclusion for me is: Beautiful Property, Helpful and friendly staff and management, Not quite appropriate settlement proposal, Terrified nights without sleep. Unless you can live (and sleep) with creepy crawlers don't book the Suite in this Hotel!
• Lindsley (8/5): Great as long as you don't need air conditioning - We loved this hotel! The only issue, which became a major one, was the air conditioning which did not work well at all. As you know, with 85 degree weather outside and no air conditioning, the most amazing room can be miserable. This was the case, so eventhough we thought it was beautiful, sleeping and getting ready in our room was miserable. We were very surprised since it was just completely redone in 2013! We complained about the AC but they said there was nothing they could do. Why would you install inferior AC? I can't imagine how hot the rooms will be in August! The food and staff was fantastic and the pool was also terrific!

• Kevin (10/5): Our base for seeing the Pont du Gard and others - This property has been beautifully restored from its prior use as an eighteenth century post office. It provides a nice quiet location to explore the surrounding area, particularly the Pont du Gard which is a short 2 km walk. If you have time take a meal in the restaurant. The food is quite good and beautifully presented. If you are there on a Sunday, they put on a wonderful brunch with entertainment out on the terrace.

• Ernest (10/5): Authentic Chateau Near Aqueduct - Modernized chateau within walking distance of the Pont du Gard aqueduct. Rooms were ample size, modern with a comfy bed. Nice views. Restaurant was top flight gourmet, but somewhat expensive. Wine was very expensive for France. Staff was outstanding all around. We would definitely stay here again.

Quiet country setting on beautifully maintained grounds. Very attentive staff throughout the facility. Evening meal at the restaurant was a wonderfully memorable experience.

Great for relaxation, but away from anything. 25 min. To Avignon, 25 min to Arles, and 25 min to Uzes, by car that is with no major highways. If you there to be away from people and fun social places then you are in the right place
• Tom (10/5): Wonderful break in Provence countryside! - We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It has a professional but personal/family feel to it. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The rooms are spacious and very comfy and the beds are huge! The breakfast is fresh and delicious. The poolside area and public areas are relaxing. All in all one of the best hotels in the world I have stayed in.
• Mark S. (10/5): 2nd time here - My second time here and I loved it again. This time it was in June and I used their pool which is beautiful and with low chlorine content. Really excellent service and staff. The best part is the ease with which you can walk to the Pont du Gard through the garrigue terrain.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely rural boutique hotel - Beautiful location, gorgeous old building decorated in a clean crisp contemporary style. Room was spotless with a decent bathroom. Staff very nice. A few niggles but not enough to stop us from returning: WiFi didn't work in the room but did downstairs so no real prob; one of the plug sockets didn't work and printer in reception also not working (a pain as after booking flights couldn't print off,). However a lovely place with real potential to be excellent.
• A Traveller (8/5): Great refurbishment of historic building - Staff was very friendly and offered suggestions on sight-seeing in the area. We visited during the slow season so it was very quiet. Pool looked beautiful, wish it would have been warm enough to enjoy. Grounds are nicely landscaped which contributes to the pleasant atmosphere. Didn't have a chance to try to the restaurant, but it looked very pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.
• Mark (10/5): an excellent place - This hotel is really nice. It's in an ancient structure but with modern fixtures that are very tasteful. Everything worked well and was clean. A nice staff, great breakfast. There is a walking path through the countryside that goes to the Pont du Gard - about fifteen minutes by foot. At night, there aren't so many bright lights creating light pollution so you can see the stars if you like that sort of thing - I do. I will be back when it's a little warmer and use their pool.

• Sal (10/5): Lovely retreat - close to Pont Du Gard - Excellent hotel - recently refurbished in July. Reception staff really welcoming and helpful. Everything was exactly as it was on the photos. Building has character and charm. Fine dining - exquisite flavours. Could be 5 star with a just a few tweaks. Loads of lovely areas to relax - shame there wasn't a spa though - this would have completed the chill out experience. Would highly recommend and would certainly visit again. Short walk to Pont Du Gard on doorstep. Glad I spent a while trawling through hotel reviews and found this, as having seen the others in the region, this was definitely the best for setting, atmosphere, cleanliness and welcoming.
• Verified traveler (10/5): newly refurbished piece of heaven - I stayed for one night here last weekend, and was impressed. although I was travelling alone, and my french is not the best, I was made to feel welcome from the minute I arrived. was shown to my room, which was a nice touch, and although the dinner menu was in french, I was talked through it and was very gratefull. dinner was served out on a large patio by the pool, and the whole atmosphere was very professional and modern, yet set in a lovely old french farmhouse. small tip, if you drive down the lane for 1km at the back of the hotel, you can access the pont du gard for free via a 15min walk down a tarmaced cycle trail..this will save you 18euros to park and visit via the sign posted tourist entrance.
