Please be aware that Galapagos is conformed by different islands; in this case you are arriving to to Santa Cruz Island. Once you arrive to Seymour Airport in Baltra Island, please take a public bus to Baltra Ferry Terminal where you should take a ferry to Santa Cruz Ferry Terminal. Then, take a bus or a taxi to Puerto Ayora. Give the driver the property's name and directions in order to arrive easily. This whole trip take approximately 40 minutes. To move between islands you can take a boat or plane; please check with your hotel the different schedules.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Its own beach, boat to transfer you across the bay and daily excursions activities from nature walks, stargazing and short lectures. They also have their own yacht for excursions, which is a high standard compared to all the other boats we did trips on. Staff are obliging, enthusiastic and work hard to ensure a happy stay. Good food, including a wide choice of breakfast options. A perfect end to a fantastic two weeks in Ecuador .

It's an amazing property and what makes it so special is the incredible staff and GM Anna who was on property all the time interacting with the guests! Every staff member we talked to was so kind and helpful; we felt like family by the time we left. They even gave us a small gift for our 2 new grandchildren that will be born in June. The food was delicious at the restaurant, as well as the breakfast buffet! We also took two excursions on their private yacht which were well worth it, due to the personalized service, amazing guides and great lunches!

Our journey to discover the Galapagos started with a lot research about the different islands, different boat cruise options, and the wide array of hotel choices. Finch Bay, helped by the multi-lingual and very accessible destination expert Melissa Altamirano, very nicely solved for all of our interests. It offered us an incredible eco-friendly location from which to launch snorkeling trips, white-glove service, excellent local and international cuisine, with close proximity to the charming village town of Puerto Ayora.

- Anneka2019 (10/5): Immersed in Nature - Special stay at Finch Bay - Our stay at Finch Bay Hotel in the Galapagos was nothing short of exceptional. Set on the island of Santa Cruz, the hotel is beautifully positioned just a short boat ride from the port in Puerto Ayora, giving it a wonderfully secluded and tranquil feel while still being easily accessible. We booked our trip relatively last minute and were struggling to find availability online, so we decided to contact the hotel directly and we are so glad we did. Carolina Escobar from Metropolitan Touring handled our request, and she truly made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. Not only did she secure us a fantastic room, but she also arranged an unforgettable tour that became a highlight of our trip. Our package included thoughtful extras like a ceviche class with the head chef and airport transfers, which made a huge difference. From the moment we landed, everything was taken care of, we didn’t have to think about logistics at all. The entire trip was incredibly well organised, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy the experience. Carolina was instrumental in making our stay so special. She was responsive, attentive and went above and beyond to tailor the trip to our preferences and sense of adventure. It genuinely felt like a personalised experience. We stayed in an Evolution Suite, which felt completely immersed in nature. The design of the room perfectly balanced comfort, relaxation, and environmental consciousness. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the glass refillable bottles and the personal water bottles we could refill anytime at the bar. The staff at the hotel were consistently warm and friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Alfonso was fantastic at suggesting and organising additional tours, helping us make the most of our time on the island. The food throughout our stay was good, with a great variety of dishes that were both fresh and beautifully prepared. They had gluten free options (e.g. cassava waffles at breakfast), which made gluten free dining enjoyable. Overall, Finch Bay offers a rare combination of natural beauty, comfort, and outstanding service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Galapagos.

- K249ZImelodyl (10/5): Magnificent family vacation - Every day of our vacation at Finch Bay was expertly curated by the wonderful Melissa Altamirano. We traveled with our two children (ages 9 and 12). They loved snorkeling, trips on the Sea Lion, kayaking, and nature walks around the islands. On property, we found Operations Manager, Alfonso, particularly helpful and caring. We enjoyed his Finch Talk, explored the night sky with him in Stargazing, and appreciated his nightly updates to confirm our adventure the following day. The only thing that could be improved is the front desk staff and restaurant service (food very good but service can be slow). Overall, we would highly recommend Finch Bay!
- ananyaandr (10/5): The best honeymoon experience with Finch Bay - We booked the honeymoon package, which included excursions, all meals, and a discounted couples' massage. We had a wonderful experience throughout. What really stands out about Finch Bay is the staff. From the driver, Benito, who picked us up at the airport, to the lovely front desk ladies (Alex, Fernanda, and Evelyn), to the activities leaders (including Enrique and Valentin), to the chefs and waitstaff (shoutout to Cristian and Juan), everyone always greeted us with a smile and conversation. Even though we only stayed for a few days, all the staff remembered our names. As an example of how much the staff pays attention: one day, we had a ceviche cooking class for lunch. Ceviche was the main menu item for dinner, but the chef remembered we already had ceviche for lunch, so they made something different specifically for us! Also, they upgraded our room for the last couple of nights, free of charge. The hotel is in a very private location, with a lovely private pool and direct beach access (note, the beach is not private). There is seating for indoor and outdoor dining. The food was great, especially the breakfast. For the honeymoon package, a very thorough itinerary was provided far in advance which allowed us to plan well. All the excursions we went on were spectacular. The hotel-provided transportation (which includes a dinghy to get to the pier, and the Sea Lion Yacht which takes you to different islands) was very convenient. The Yacht was clean and comfortable, the lunches provided were yummy and vegetarian-friendly. Wetsuits, flippers, and snorkeling goggles were provided by the hotel for all excursions. I had never been snorkeling before, and the guides were very helpful. All guides were very knowledgeable too. We got to see some amazing views and animals. Overall, we can't recommend Finch Bay enough. The only thing we would change is staying longer!!

From the moment we stepped onto the property, everything felt magical—the nature, the peaceful pathways, and the beautiful birds all around made it feel like a hidden paradise. A special thank you to Enrique, who helped arrange our excursions and made our stay so memorable. I loved learning about the history of the islands and Darwin from him. The stargazing experience he led and the morning walk to Tortuga Bay were unforgettable. He also arranged a sea lion boat trip to Santa Fe, which was absolutely incredible. We also want to recognize Steven, our wonderful waiter each evening at dinner. His energy, attentiveness, and exceptional service truly elevated every meal. He paid attention to every detail and made us feel so well taken care of. Overall, what an amazing stay. The service is truly top-notch, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. - travelingwithkids55 (10/5): Finch Bay Exceeded All Expectations -- Pure Magic - Finch Bay is spectacular. We loved everything about it. The location -- the Galápagos Islands - is amazing. The hotel is located in a perfect spot for touring sights and we found Emilia Vasconez to be incredibly helpful in planning our trips to neighboring islands and seeing local sights as well. The staff at the hotel could not have been nicer or more helpful. They knew all of our names and were very thoughtful and extremely helpful. The rooms at the hotel are lovely -- veery comfortable, with a/c that cools the room down very quickly, which is pretty important since Finch Bay is basically on the equator and it was very hot while we were there. The food is insanely good. The breakfasts were amazing. We were a pretty big group -- 8 people -- and everyone raved about what they ordered to the point where we returned and ordered each other's dishes. The prices were surprisingly reasonable at the restaurant. The Resort is really lovely with magical paths through iguana nesting areas, surrounded by mangrove trees. It is adjacent to a beautiful public beach that we enjoyed and a short walk to Las Grietas, a spectacular swimming spot. The spa is lovely as well and the massage with Angie was outstanding and others in the group also loved their spa services with others. The hotel runs a little boat shuttle from the end of the path to town and to nearby boats.

Communication during the booking process was occasionally a little slow, but when they responded they were always very kind, helpful, and thorough. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was spotless and very well maintained each day. The resort itself is beautiful, peaceful, and a perfect place to relax after full days of adventure. The activities and wildlife experiences were truly out of this world and the highlight of our trip. Our guide, Stefan, during the first two days was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much from him. We were very grateful for the time we spent exploring with him. We also really appreciated how smoothly the arrival process was organized. Stefan met us at the airport and stayed with us through the ferry, bus, and boat transfers to the resort, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. Overall, it was a memorable stay with great staff and unforgettable experiences. We would absolutely recommend Finch Bay to anyone visiting the Galápagos.

Our travel itinerary, lodging, and daily outings were skillfully arranged and curated for us by Carolina Escobar at MetroJourneys.com . We told Carolina that we wanted to see the best of Galapagos Islands over a few days from a land based hotel in the islands. I get seasick and didn’t want to be stuck in a small berth on a boat, with constant movement and rocking. What we got was 4 nights at the lovely Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel on Santa Cruz Island. Santa Cruz is one of the bigger inhabited islands in the Galapagos. Finch Bay and the hotel grounds were beautiful, comfortable, and super hospitable. We had a modern room with a good bathroom, comfortable bed, A/C and good WiFi. The food and drinks there are 1st Class. Everyone at the front/excursion desk, and most of the friendly staff speak English. We wanted for nothing. I would go back again in a heartbeat. All the activities left from the front desk with wonderful, knowledgeable guides. The hotel has their own yacht for island excursions. They are very good at what they do. We were not disappointed.

This luxury yacht provided stellar service and each of us enjoyed both on the yacht and in the water experience. We swam with sea lions (so many of them) in the water and the boat ride was comfortable and smooth. Caroline Escobar is the agent I communicated via Whatsapp and she has been a great help to this activity. Highly recommend this yacht as well as Santa Fe island.

The setting is stunning, right by the sea and surrounded by nature, yet still close to town. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, the rooms were comfortable and spotless, and the food was excellent. Waking up to the views and the peaceful atmosphere made it a truly special place to stay in the Galápagos. We would happily return. Nothing major — if anything, the hotel feels slightly secluded, so you need a short walk or taxi to reach town, but for us this was more than compensated by the peace, views, and relaxed atmosphere.

What really sets this place apart is the staff: without exception they were warm, friendly, and highly professional, always attentive without being intrusive. You genuinely feel well looked after from start to finish. The pool area is absolutely beautiful and one of our favourite spots to relax. Swimming there feels very special, especially with ducks and other birds frequently joining you — a lovely reminder that you’re truly in the Galápagos. Everything throughout the property is kept immaculately clean. The rooms are spotless but it’s worth noting that the standard rooms are on the small side. The bed was quite short for me (my feet stuck out the end), and the room would benefit from a small fridge and a coffee machine. If you plan to be out exploring all day and only use the room for sleeping, the standard room is perfectly adequate. Otherwise, I’d recommend upgrading to a larger room for extra comfort. We did two boat trips organised through the hotel, and both were excellent. The boat itself was very comfortable, and the crew were professional, attentive, and friendly. The yacht excursions were run with great attention to detail, with knowledgeable guides, clear information, and good food on board — a real highlight of our stay. One small point worth noting: I left a generous cash tip for the crew, only to realise the following day (after receiving the formal invoice) that a 10% obligatory service charge had already been added at the time of booking. It would be helpful if this were made clearer upfront. Dinner at the hotel was very enjoyable, with a good variety of dishes. The fresh tuna in particular was outstanding — truly delicious. Overall, Finch Bay offers a fantastic combination of comfort, nature, and very well-run excursions. A beautiful base for exploring the Galápagos, especially if you value excellent service, cleanliness, and unforgettable surroundings.

- Jenningsburyhouse (10/5): Perfect place to relax after a cruise around the Galapagos - We stayed here for two nights after our cruise of the Galapagos on a catamaran. The hotel is a short boat ride from Santa Cruz and then a good 5 minute walk but this only adds to the feeling of exclusivity. Our room (suite 5) was beautifully simple and clean, with wonderful views over the water. The pool was gorgeous and even though wild birds were dipping in every so often, the water was very clean, with someone constantly mopping up the edges and catching feathers in a net! There were plenty of sun loungers/shaded areas around the pool area and it never felt busy. The food and cocktails from the poolside bar were amazing but certainly a tad more expensive than the restaurants outside the hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent - a lot of choice and beautifully presented. Our only regret was not having an extra night here to relax.

Be prepared t walk 5-7 minutes from water taxi to hotel ( they take your bags) and as you walk you will see sea lions and iguanas. We loved the walk! Being close to town but not in town was a plus!
- JarodBlaney (10/5): Amazing trip - Resort home base with great daily excursions - Galapagos is quite the experience. You can do it by cruise or in a limited amount of resorts. Our family wasn't excited about being couped up in a small cruise ship, so we chose Finch Bay, and we are very glad that we did. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious. They went out of their way to host a beautiful New Year's Eve event. The tour guides were very courteous and knowledgable. The facilities, buses, and boats were all top notch, and the resort itself is beautiful. The event staff is very thorough in coordinating and planning your daily excursions. They remind you of times throughout the day, provide free sea-sickness pills, coordinate wet suits, and take care of all the travel. We don't feel like we missed anything. We saw the major islands, saw all of the beautiful wildlife, were close enough to town for shopping or other dinner areas, and felt like we got the true Galapagos experience. The rooms were awesome, particularly the new suites. They were clean and beautiful. The resort was small enough to get personal attention, and big enough to get lost in relaxation. For a family, I highly recommend a resort as a "home base," and we would certainly visit again. Two pointers - First, many of the excursions leave from the North side of the island. This adds ~45 mins of bus time to every excursion (there and back). Second, I highly recommend the airport transfer. It's a bus, ferry boat, 1 hour bus ride, another fairy, and a 5-min walk to the resort. Without it, you are doing a lot of work and won't easily find the place.

- Elanal (2/5): Beware of lost bookings - BEWARE We booked finch bay four nights through a high- end and reputable travel agency over a year in advance since our trip was over the Christmas holiday. Our original booking was for two suites. Two adults in one suite and our three teens in the second. About two months before the arrival date we were told through our agency that one of the suites wasn’t available. While disappointed and surprised given our advanced booking, we adjusted, and took a regular room which now meant one of our kids had to be in the suite with us, with the other two in a regular room. Fast forward to a few weeks before our trip . Over the Thanksgiving weekend, we are contacted again by our agency, mortified, that the hotel does not have the remaining suite available for us for the last night. Our options are to switch hotels, (to a less than stellar option as the trip is only a month away and obviously there are not many options at this point), for all 4 nights or pack up after the 3rd night and move somewhere else for the final night, and we have to make a decision by Monday so they can secure the other hotel. We get some information that the hotel has been under management changes over the year, and some bookings were lost, or something to that effect. The travel agency, having apparently worked with this hotel for many years, can’t make headway even through they escalate extensively through both sides. We are told that this is one of the worst errors they have experienced when working on behalf of a client and have lost all faith in this hotel to manage bookings properly. We refuse both options as unacceptable and wait for a response through the agency. We push back and ask why we are the ones who have to change our entire trip around when booking it more than a year in advance and our agency has full paperwork, from the hotel itself, confirming our booking. A few days later are told by the agency that ‘there was a cancellation and they can move you into a regular room for the last night’. Our only option at this point is to accept the solution, so on the third day we have to completely pack up our room and move three people into a room that barely fits two twin beds. (We do receive some financial compensation for the changes, but financial compensation was not our goal for this trip, and this is at a bare minimum what a high end hotel should offer for an error of this sort). During our stay we never receive an apology or acknowledgement from a manager for the inconvenience they’ve caused us for a trip of a lifetime. We’ve had minor issues when traveling before and there would be a note left in the room, a basket of fruit, a greeting direct from a manager welcoming us and apologizing. Something to acknowledge the error directly. Instead, when checking in we have to sign a document that we are aware we have to move rooms the last night, and we are reminded two additional times that we have to pack up by the time we leave for our activity that last morning so they can move our bags during the day. The hotel is lovely - but losing a booking, and two significant errors at that, soured us on the resort before even arriving, and made what was supposed to be a comfortable stay where we did everything right, into something that was not very comfortable, and stressful. I don’t know how, because of these very egregious errors, I can give this hotel anything other than a 1star review. I would encourage people to take caution when booking here, especially over a holiday, as even with full paperwork and booking confirmations you may be left high and dry.

I spoke to a representative who gave me incorrect and misleading information about booking arrangements, including being told to split my stay into two reservations and possibly change rooms. None of this matched the written email communication afterward, which was confusing, contradictory, and highly unprofessional. I paid close to $800 per night for a premium room. Upon arrival, after already leaving my luggage with the hotel and engaging in activities, I was placed into a ground-floor room I would never have booked: No sea view at all Faces interior catwalks with direct views into neighbors’ rooms Zero privacy (you can see people on their beds, towels hanging, etc.) Small room, low ceilings, cheap-looking furniture Outdoor chairs that feel budget/Temu-level, not luxury This room has nothing in common with what was advertised or priced. The hotel simply presented it as a done deal — a classic fait accompli — which is unacceptable at this price point. The “festive” food offering was another disappointment: generic Christmas food you’d eat at home, with no local or unique character. Completely misses the point of traveling here. To be fair: The property is clean The location is pleasant and interesting But service defines a luxury hotel — and this is not luxury service. It feels like a property run by owners trying to maximize margins at the expense of guest experience. Would I stay here again? Only if it were around $150/night. At $800/night, this experience is indefensible. A luxury hotel does not mislead its guests.

Plenty of activities that you can schedule from half day yacht excursions to nearby islands to see wildlife, kayaking excursions and snorkeling. There’s also a nice spa and small gym that has great equipment on-site. We booked this resort with Melissa Altamirano at Metropolitan Touring (www.metrojourneys.com). Melissa was very knowledgeable, attentive and went above and beyond in her recommendations for our trip to Galapagos as well as Quito. This is a lovely boutique resort that is worth every dollar.

The hotel provides a free shuttle boat to the local town and it’s available throughout the day. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. A real haven and a great land based option for travelers to the Galápagos.

They nail every little touch with little chocolate treats and welcome drinks. The staff is incredible and I have to shout out the excursion manager Alphonso who took me on a private tour. I also have to shout out the wait staff who noticed my wife wasn’t feeling well and brought her tea and medicine. The hotel has a complimentary activity each day and a fantastic pool to lounge by with resident ducks. The breakfast is top notch and the grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend the masseuses as well.

- grantbb2014 (10/5): Great stay at Finch Bay Galapagos - We stayed at Finch Bay Galapagos for 7 nights/8 days at the end of October 2025 and went on 4 all day excursions to various islands. The hotel is terrific...the food was varied and excellent, the spa and gym are first class, the staff is responsive and friendly. All told, it's hard to imagine how it could have been better. The only thing to be aware of is that when you visit the Galapagos, the threshold decision is whether to stay on a boat or to stay in a hotel. Each has its advantages...the most obvious being that the boat can go further and therefore you can see more animals. But you're stuck on the boat. So once you make that call, and if you decide to stay on land, we highly recommend the Finch Bay Hotel. Not only that, but they have a booking service that allows one-stop shopping. In our case, Melissa Altamirano at Metro Journeys booked all of our transfers, guides, excursions etc. so we just had to show up and enjoy them. It really simplified the experience. The only thing to be aware of though is that in order to get to the various islands from Finch Bay, you need to take a bus and/or a boat and that can be a little tedious. On our last day, to Bartholome Island, we took a bus for the better part of an hour and then a boat for almost two hours to get there and the same amount of time on the return. It was worth it...snorkeling with the sharks, sea lions, sea turtles, penguins and lots of types of colourful fish...but it was a long day so be ready for it.
- Inspire36194111950 (8/5): The yacht trips were the best part - This place is nice. We did a package deal with the owning company for Mashpi, Finch Bay, and Casa Gangotena. While Mashpi is a magical place, Finch Bay has similar service but it isn’t quite magical. The facilities at Finch are nice, the food tasty, the staff attentive, but it doesn’t quite come all together somehow like at Mashpi. A lot of the guests just sit by the pool (hello, it’s the Galapagos). The area around the hotel and on the island isn’t very interesting. The kayak trip was not interesting and snorkeling Tortuga and Las Grietas not too great (near the hotel). The best part of staying here are the day trips on the yacht. That is where you get the typical Galapagos experience. I would recommend taking the yacht everyday you’re here. We really liked our trips to Bartolome and North Seymour. The food on the ship was good, the guides good, the ship very nice (with starlink). The only thing we didn’t like about the yacht was the bus trips to and from the yacht which were long and we sort of felt like rushed cattle. If you don’t get sea sick, consider a Galapagos cruise with this company instead of Finch. However, overall this place is still quite nice. The service from the company getting us from Quito to the Galapagos and back was very good.

- ginalA3648KB (8/5): Wonderful Galapagos - Galapagos islands are an experience altogether, a wonderful experience, however, there are limitations on 'modern' hotels. Finch Bay is positioned in an excellent area directly with beach access which is not easy to find, there are other 5* hotels inland but far from the town centre. Finch Bay also arrange free movement to the main town area with their own boat. The biggest compliment is their chef - the food is excellent and to a very high standard, I cannot compliment the exquisite quality of their meals enough. Staff are very responsive, Miguel stood out as the best quality barista and Christian as head waiter/deputy manager. However, the rooms are claustrophobic, very small spaces, no TV, no coffee/tea facilities, balcony had no privacy and no views. 'Day' guests are allowed on site, which I can understand but facilities are limited and impact 'long term' guests. The hotel is better than most but dated and needs modernisation for the price guests are paying.

Anddy Males organised our trip of a lifetime and we have to say that he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the most memorable of our lives. It went way above our expectations! From the minute we were welcomed into this piece of paradise and well after we arrived home, he was still taking care of us. He wins the customer service of the decade award! Anddy went to great lengths to find out our interests and organised wonderful personalised tours where we had the opportunity to cavort with sea lions at Santa Fe - and mingle with Blue Footed Boobies. Enrique was also a legend and was there to greet us when we arrived and daily thereafter to ensure every need was met. The room Anddy organised for us was fit for royalty and we highly recommend the suite where you can soak in a bath gazing out over the ocean views! Every aspect of Finch Bay has a magical touch - from the water taxi drivers to the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant to the friendly guests staying there. We even made some lifelong friends during our stay from the US. The lagoon was also a wonderful surprise where we snorkelled with a huge variety of marine life. Charles Darwin may have discovered the theory of evolution here, but Finch Bay has discovered the pinnacle of outstanding customer service. We cannot recommend this resort more highly - and be sure you get Anddy to organise everything for you. He is amazing! Thank you Finch Bay - we have taken you back to Australia in our hearts!

Maria Emilia organised a great itinerary for me with boat tours to North Seymour and Bartoleme Islands and to the local beauty spots seeing many giant tortoises and birds. Both guides Valentine and Fabien were enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about all the wildlife and geography of the area. I would highly recommend Finch Bay and a special thanks to Maria Emilia for all her organisation.

- marwas375 (4/5): Poor value for money - I will start by saying that the hotel has many positives — lovely, well maintained grounds, varied and delicious breakfast, and attentive, polite staff who are always eager to help. However, I was left very disappointed with my stay at Finch Bay Hotel. For the amount of money we paid, the experience fell far short of expectations. The hotel charges around £500 a night, twice the price of its neighbouring competitors and en par with luxury hotels in the middle of London and Paris. For this amount, guests should expect a certain level of comfort and amenities aligned with international five-star hotels. This was lacking, for example 1. Rooms are quite small by any standard. 2. No TV in the room. Whilst I applaud your efforts to promote sustainability, if you don’t want to place TVs in every room, don’t charge your guests this amount of money. One TV in your buisness centre doesn’t do. 3. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room 4. No bread heater at breakfast, sliced bread was cold. This is a very simple standard for any hotel aspiring to five-star service. 5. No slippers provided — only the bathrobe! 6. No option to purchase or be provided with still bottled water. You are proud of your filtered water, but considering the price I paid, I expect to have this option available to me when I request it. And it’s not about sustainability, you see sparkling bottled water! 7. The pool. It’s what I was looking forward to the most since it’s heated. The first day of using it I noticed some brown lumpy structures in the pool. Considering you share the pool with some guest ducks, I was quite concerned and alerted the wait staff. He said the pool needs cleaning! Did it get cleaned? No. I left it and could not shut the visual image out of my head for the rest of my stay. Never used it again. Overall, Finch Bay positions itself in the same price bracket as five-star hotels in major international cities, but the offering is nowhere near comparable. The service and facilities simply do not justify the cost, and I left feeling that completely short changed.
- leenannm (10/5): Finch Bay: The perfect Santa Cruz stay! - Thank you to Anddy at Metropolitan Touring! Planning our vacation with him was the best decision we made. Anddy was helpful from beginning to end. His professionalism and enthusiasm were always present. His attentiveness and patience never waned across the 60+ emails BEFORE we committed, not to mention all of those after we booked. After making reservations, Anddy used his vast knowledge to plan a tailor-made vacation for our family. Our experience began with our guide Francisco meeting us at the airport for a private transfer to the Finch Bay. After many hours of travel, this first-class service was very welcomed. From the airport, we boarded the public shuttle--the only option from the airport-- where Francisco coordinated our bags being loaded and our family of four getting seats. Once we arrived at the boat dock at Itabaca Channel, we boarded a small private boat for a 5 minute ride to Santa Cruz Island where our driver and an air-conditioned van were waiting (if not for the private boat, we would've joined a long line to board ourselves and luggage onto a 40-passenger boat). Our adventure began immediately as our driver transported us through the highlands and Francisco shared interesting facts on the way to a giant tortoise ranch . After walking among the giants in awe and snapping unbelievable photos, we enjoyed a nice lunch in the open air restaurant at the ranch. Afterwards, we headed to the bustling town of Puerto Ayora where we boarded Finch Bay's private taxi for a 5-minute ride. Once we arrived, the staff transported our luggage as we meandered the 5+ minute walk through the mangrove arches and along the beach boardwalk to the resort grounds. We knew immediately we had made the right decision. The pool, common areas, and boardwalks through the trees to the rooms were beautiful and peaceful. Although a bit of an effort to reach, we thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of the Finch Bay. After a long day of excursions, we relaxed poolside with delicious drinks and dined poolside several nights. The food and service were impeccable. A few days and evenings we journeyed into town to shop, visit the breeding center, and dine at recommended restaurants. Visiting the town was very convenient because of the Finch Bay's private taxi. All we had to do was tell the front desk we were heading to the dock and they called the driver to be waiting for us. To return, we called the front desk to send a water taxi. We never waited more than a minute. The Finch Bay allowed us to conveniently enjoy the town while staying in a peaceful retreat. Every staff member worked diligently to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable, and unforgettable.The activities directory, Enrique, found us every afternoon before the next day's excursion to ensure we knew the departure time, meeting location, had our wetsuits, etc. We took 3 excursions on the resort's Sea Lion yacht. All of our guides and crew were exceptional. They were professional, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and committed to us having an interesting experience. The excursions were all split into two parts: hike and snorkel. After the first part, we enjoyed a snack and beverage, and after the second part, we were served a small buffet lunch with tasty options. The crew was efficient in distributing the snorkeling gear so that we didn't miss any time in the water. Our guides engaged to spot, point out, and share information about the sights we were all wanting to see. While on the three excursions--Bartolome, North Seymour, and the Plazas--we experienced the following: observed penguins and swam with a penguin, swam beside a sea turtle, lots of different fish (like an entire school of "Dory" fish) a sea lion, and spotted sea urchins, star fish of different colors, a couple black tip sharks, and more. On land, we observed flamingos, lots of blue footed boobies nesting with their eggs or chicks, numerous male frigates inflating their red pouches to attract a mate, huge yellow land iguanas, and a newborn sea lion! In addition to all of the attention and services described, we had a very positive experience involving an unfortunate medical situation with our son. He had an allergic reaction that required his Epipen while dining at a nearby restaurant. Knowing that he usually needs to proceed to a hospital after injections, the Finch Bay staff jumped into action to transport him. Luckily, the on-call physician was onsite to take his vitals and manage the situation through Manager Ana's interpretation. Overall, Anddy and the entire Finch Bay staff made our once-in-a-lifetime vacation an incredible experience. We give them all our highest praise and gratitude.

I came here because they had a gym, which was nice but busy. Also hotel is hard to get to. It’s ok, but would go to other good alternatives our friends stayed at like Blu Galapagos or Angermeyer if I was looking again (even if they are cheaper we thought they were better)
- 250barbd (10/5): 5 Stars All Around! - We had a fabulous stay at the Finch Bay Hotel. The staff is helpful and very friendly. They truly care about your experience at their hotel and their excursions. The food is fabulous with many gluten free options. The pool area is beautiful and a nice place to have dinner. Our room was cute and quaint but unfortunately they didn't offer us the upgrade (remember to request that). We did many excursions: tortoise sanctuary (landed later in the day..would have loved more time to explore) but well worth the visit. Both yacht days were excellent our guide and crew were very knowledgable and always cared about us having the best experience and safety. Also an afternoon at the Charles Darwin Center and dinner at the Lava restaurant...dont miss that adventure. Special thank you to Carolina Escobar, our Finch Bay travel agent. She was very helpful and accommodating with all our special requests. Her attention to detail was perfect. Highly recommend the Finch Bay Resort 5 Stars all around ⭐️!!
- quailie (10/5): Finch Bay - THE resort to stay at in Galapagos - Finch Bay is a wonderful hotel tucked at the end of Santa Cruz Island. Adventurous to get to (hint: wear good shoes because it’s a little bit of a walk to get there!), but enjoy this wonderful place when you do. Our room was right the first one past the pool and couldn’t have been more perfect. We had a view of the ocean and crashing waves, ships, birds. 🥰 The staff was exceptional, immediately fulfilling our requests (I needed an ice bag and an extra towel after all the walking 😎). Great food, wonderful drinks and several times we sat near the pool to enjoy the view and newfound friends. This was all arranged through MetroJourneys (whose owner owns the hotel btw!) and we arrived there after a trip to Mashpi Lodge and Quito - part of our wonderful ‘Golden Triangle’ package offered by MJ. Our Destination Exper, Maria Emilia de los Reyes was outstanding in assisting us will all of our travel plans both before and during our trip. Can’t say enough about her, MJ and Finch Bay Resort! We will definitely do this trip again in a year or so, but YOU NEED to contact Maria Emilia and look into taking this adventurous, exciting trip soon! We absolutely loved it.

- JoelleM25 (10/5): It's the Perfect Galapagos Hotel - The Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel is A+ across the board. The hotel property is immaculate, the service is spectacular and the food is delicious. The pool is so inviting and they have staff that keeps the pool sparkling clean all day long (and with so many birds, that's no easy feat!). The Suites had a beautiful view of the harbor and a nice hammock. The morning buffet was lovely and had a great variety of foods. The living room area was comfortable and a perfect place to relax after dinner. The main callout goes to General Manager, Alfonso - who truly went above and beyond MULTIPLE TIMES to accommodate our every need. He always made us feel important and heard. He is the best hotel manager I have ever met. The Sea Lion Yacht is also great and very comfortable. But be prepared - getting to the hotel is a MAJOR TREK. Once you land at Baltra, its a bus ride to the ferry + ferry ride + 1 hour-ish drive across island + to another dock where you take a water taxi to the dock that's closest to the hotel + 3-5 min walk from the dock to the hotel itself. But if you are going to the Galapagos, trekking to the hotel will be the easiest part of your day. This is a BUSY and ACTIVE trip Booking the trip was the only issue I encountered as they have a concierge partner with Metro Journeys and although the team at MJ's tried to be helpful, they felt salesy and I needed to extract them from my travel plans.

- 385maryb (10/5): Vacation of a Lifetime - I stayed at the Finch Bay for 3 nights before my 7 night Galapagos cruise with Celebrity. The facilities are extremely comfortable and the staff was warm and very accommodating. I did one of the hotel's excursions to Bartolome Island which was the best experience of my entire trip. Their yacht is wonderful and the naturalists know where to find all of the wildlife. I also had a massage while staying there. It was excellent and very affordable. I made all of my arrangements via their website with Maria. She answered all of my questions beforehand and my vacation was everything I had hoped for and more.

We also did the Sea Lion yacht excursion and that was totally worth it, the guides spent time making sure we got to see all kinds of wild life in their natural habitat. I absolutely recommend staying at Finch Bay when you are on Isla Santa Cruz! Thank you so much Finch Bay Staff! Shout out to Wagner behind the bar, Alfonso the manager, evoline at the front desk, and the entire housekeeping and grounds crew staff! You all made our trip to the Galapagos a trip to remember! The boat tours are a great way to see the multitudes of animal life on various islands. Private water taxi service to the ports worked very well. Pool is beautiful, and the restaurant highly rated and worth doing a few meals there. Rooms were spacious, private, and beautiful. Most of all, service and attention to detail were top of the line.
- megancU3422XT (10/5): Hidden paradise - We’re leaving Finch Bay tomorrow and I’m so sad. This place is absolutely wonderful. The location, the excursions on the Sea Lion yacht, the food and drinks were amazing. The staff needs their own review because everyone was so kind, helpful and welcoming. Johanna, Wagner, Alfonso, Joselyn, (I apologize I’m forgetting to name some people), the naturalists we had as guides and the Sea Lion crew took great care in educating us about the islands and ensuring our safety. We purchased the all inclusive package which includes food only and it was pretty good. Some meals were better than others but overall the quality is there. We really loved the lunches on the boat. Those were amazing! I desperately want to return during the dry season. If you’re on the fence, just book it!

The photos and reviews do not to justice to how beautiful this little slice of paradise is. Finch Bay offers many unique benefits vs other hotels or lodges and is the perfect base for a stay to explore Galápagos. Some of the things we loved - - The only hotel which is steps away from a beautiful beach - Located just across the water from Puerto Ayora so it is a peaceful and quiet stay out of town yet so easy to access town for any exploring or dinners etc. as needed - the free and private hotel taxi takes two minutes to get to the town pier and is constantly shuttling back and forth from early until late every day - we never had to wait long (if at all) and every trip enables an opportunity for wildlife spotting along the way! - A beautiful and modern pool which is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the islands - amazing cocktails too! - The hotel has its own private yacht Sea Lion which organizes day trips to neighboring islands - we took the tours to Bartolomé and North Seymour and Las Bachas and both day trips were great - Rooms were modern, clean and of a decent size and perfect for our family with young children Finally, I wanted to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff and particularly the hotel manager Alfonso who was very present, attentive and caring to ensure our stay was nothing less than perfect. We had a small hiccup upon arrival with our transfer (through no fault of the hotel due to an unexpected car breakdown), Alfonso personally met us and took great and genuine care to ensure every single moment that followed was flawless. We travel to many properties and I have not seen a hotel manager as engaged, responsive and available as Alfonso was so full credit to him for driving such a wonderful experience with his guests. Thank you so much Alfonso!
- doctenor (8/5): Relaxing Stay at Finch Bay - We enjoyed our stay at Finch Bay. Our room was small but comfortable. We were supposed to go into the main town on the first night for dinner, but it was pouring rain, so, we stayed at the hotel restaurant and ate outside under the awning of the bar--it was great. Our server, Joanna (I think was her name), was so wonderful. The food was really delicious. After walking around the main town in the morning (the hotel provides a free boat ride), we spent the day by the pool...it was also great--nice drinks and a really nice lunch.
- Adventurer791194 (10/5): Room 10 ..... - We were the very first people to stay in the new suites. I challenge anyone to find a nicer suite/ view than number 10 in the entire Galapagos islands. Carlos was amazing in helping us organize all our trips directly from the resort. Get on their sea lion boat for a day of snorkeling if you can amazing. The shuttle service to Porto Arroyo was really easy and not the slightest bit of a hassle. Don't look any further if you want. Amazing service great food and a beautiful view and location just book it.

- patrycja212 (6/5): Not a luxury hotel - My husband and I stayed at the Finch Bay hotel for 4 days in November. Apart from accommodation, we also booked private transport to the airport and day trips on Santa Cruz and to Bartolomé Island. On arrival to Baltra airport, we were picked up by our guide (he did not have a name board, we found him by asking other drivers which one came from Finch Bay hotel). After quick introductions, we were put on airport bus, then ferry and then started our tour of the island. Our guide only worked with the hotel and was fantastic. We visited volcanic calderas, giant turtles rancho and had Ecuadorian lunch. After that, we were taken to the hotel. Check-in was quick, but they tried to sell us additional services such as wetsuits for the next day tour and mosquito repellants. Given we travelled overnight and had full day tour before arriving to the hotel at 6pm, we expected a little bit more empathy and space to relax and refresh. We booked a double suite and the room was a disappointment. The finishings were cheap, more in line with a 3 star hotel, bathroom was tiny and amenities provided of low quality. Breakfast in the morning started at 6pm and many tours at 7am which doesn’t leave a lot of time to get ready. Breakfast selection is good but very limited; eggs cooked to order, a few Ecuadorean dishes, pancakes, bread, basic charcuterie and fruit. Second day we visited Bartolome island and I decided to rent a wetsuit for snorkelling (25USD) and it was absolutely worth it given the water was cold in November. Once again, the tour was great (although shared with tourists from the town, not only hotel guests). We had the same guide, Fabian, who was again fantastic. Lunch served on board was of a good quality and was a mixture of fish, seafood and vegetables. The final day, we decided to rest by the pool in a morning before going to Darwin research centre. My husband wanted to order whiskey while we waited by the pool but was quoted £40 which was ridiculous. We settled for cava instead. It is also worth mentioning that due to a river running through the resort, there are a lot of mosquitoes. This was the only place we had to have a repellent on (not outside the hotel). One would think that hotel would provide repellents on the rooms, but that’s not the case, they sell them for 9 USD. Overall this hotel is only worth staying at because of the quality of guides/tours it provides. The rooms are very basic, common facilities are much nicer (and hotel does a great job at making them look nicer than they actually are on Instagram). If you book it, do it with your eyes wide open, know it is overpriced and the service is basic. Your tours will be fantastic which made up for me the shortcomings of the accommodation.

Patty at reception really helped us with all the information and support we needed. Water taxi is very easy also. I would highly recommend the candle light dinner make a reservation for this. Food was incredible and the service by Cesar was probably the best service I’ve ever had, he really added to the overall experience and this was our best dinner in Ecuador.
- 206patsyk (10/5): Out of this world ! - We didn’t really have any idea about the hotel not even that we would need to take a short boat ride to it. It is really gorgeous, the views are absolutely breathtaking, the rooms so beautiful with the staff so friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful too. Imagine being able to sit out under the stars looking at twinkling lights of boats on the horizon whilst eating freshly caught fish! Lots of trips and other experiences can be arranged. Visiting the Galapagos was top of my bucket list but now I would say don’t wait so long to enjoy.
- nicoleguarraci (10/5): Must stay hotel! - Finch bay is a fantastic hotel that I will definitely recommend to anyone going to Santa Cruz. We stayed for 2 days and I wish I had longer. Firstly it’s on its own little private area (with a free private boat that you can take to go back and forth). Takes 5 mins. Quiet and relaxing. Also the staff sets you up so you don’t have to worry about getting back to the hotel in case you don’t have service / wifi. Amenities wise it was 10/10. The pool and loungers were great. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Comfy bed and pillows. The staff were all amazing! Very helpful, very nice. The restaurant was one of my fav meals in the Galapagos. Highly recommend the tuna tartar and octopus. If you’re going to Galapagos, definitely stay here!!

From reception team finding solutions to your requests, changing rooms around to accommodate to the incredible dining staff serving great food and drinks with a story and genuine warmth. This is our families second trip to the Galapagos but first time staying on land - it was a lovely change and needed so the teens could still log on for school. Many thanks for a lovely week!

- Ryszard (9/5): Superb - The only hotel with own beach, close to the main attractions. Getting there is a bit complicated as you need to use either the hotel shuttle boat or water taxi (one dolar per person) to get from the town. And later walk app. 0.5 km to the hotel. But it is worth it. Recommended. They shoud imporve communication prior to the arrival and provide more detailed info on the logistic, especially the airport transfer which is quite complicated as you have to change from the public bus to private boat (in our case we ended in a public ferry despite paying for the boat, no refund), the private car, ferry again and a walk with unclear directions.
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional - The location was spectacular and the breakfast was just delicious. The staff were incredibly kind and the boat taxi was very efficient. I would absolutely come back here. It's a family-friendly hotel, and while I think that's fine, the fact that there were children running around, jumping in the pool, screaming etc., kind of took away from the serenity of the experience.
