- Phil_S (8/5): Good stay - Good location just next to the beach , Restaurants, Supermarket everything you need.
Room is big , bathroom and shower are comfortable. Sharing kitchen for self cooking even if you book a room with kitchenette it's just a and a fridge ,microwave with cutlery.
Smell in the room , I guess it's from mold.

- Ezra (7/5): Comfortable, good location. - Location Rooms are old, could be cleaner.
- Marilyn Josie (7/5): We have a good stay as the location is very good. No need to drive around as we have good restaurants, pub, etc nearby - Good location The pond at the entrance. It should be removed and put some green plants because the water looks dirty and smelly. The place place would be nicer without the pond
- Malcolm (10/5): Comfortable and conveniently located. Good value for money - Perfectly located. Beach across the road and many restaurants in the area. Clean and comfortable! Does not have a smart tv

- Sap700 (8/5): -
- Runo (7/5): Nice comfortable stay - Well located and clean. Kitchenette is a must but it would be nice if it were more complete.
- rekha (10/5): - L'emplacement. La terrasse donnant sur la rue.
- Rajan (8/5): Good value for money - Location. Very close to the beach. Good choice of restaurants in the vicinity. Spacious rooms Some of the photos on the site are misleading. e.g., there are photos of a restaurant in the hotel, but there is none.
Quality of housekeeping could have been better. Had to do some cleaning ourselves
- Clifford (10/5): - Customer service was top very helpful for anything nice and friendly no issues also with housekeeping I recommend will be back thank you all
- John (9/5): Great location in Pereybere. Close to shops, ans bus routes. It was a good starting point for our two month holiday in - Close to beach and restaurant. Staff were very helpful and friendly We would have liked more outside space
- Bhavik (9/5): -
- Pas Cee (8/5): - The convenience, close to the beach and in the middle of everything in Pereybere.
Tucked away in a little street enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main tiad We didn't get coffee and milk in our room 😕
- Sylvie (9/5): -
- Cari (10/5): - Perfect location near the beach and clean room. Our flight got cancelled while we were staying here and Kim at the front desk was so helpful in contacting the airline for us and helping us to rebook our flights.
Parking is easy. The only expected thing is the door to the bathroom is clear glass; a pull down shade can be used for more privacy but it still caught us off guard.
Cute patio area and there is also a guard at nighttime which made us feel safe!
- Stephanie (6/5): -
- estelle (7/5): -
- nicolas (8/5): - Propre et fonctionnel Peu de contact
- Walker (9/5): All you need. - It's not 5 star, but I'd rate it 5 star because it's all you need. Spacious room, outdoor patio, stylish bathroom and shower. Close to restaurants and beach.
- Vaishnavi (6/5): -
- Shaohu (10/5): -
- Terri (5/5): Okay for a cheap one night stay - Good location near the beach, secure property. Could be cleaner in the room, bedsheets and pillowcases weren’t very clean , had stains on them. The cutlery and cups also weren’t cleaned well. Cup had lipstick marks on it still!
- Gaelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (5/5): Affordable stay in a good location but not well maintained - The property itself is decent but not well maintained. For example, the fountain at the front has no water, the shower has no drain cover, the fridge in our room was leaking water. We also had a problem with the sliding door on our balcony - it actually wouldn’t close all the way because the door is slightly too small for the frame! So that was concerning, especially because the balcony was directly connected to the neighbors balcony, only separated by some blinds. It was pretty clean except the shower needed a deep clean - there was some mold in the grout and the shower head was old. Overall it was comfortable and for the price and location it wasn’t a bad experience, I just think the property has been neglected for far too long!
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Great value for money
Close to the beach
Clean Not the best view but you get what you pay for!
- Matlala (7/5): it was good and refresing. Good staff and freindly - The room was well attended and clean, beach fantastic There was no briefing by Lodge Administrator about some other entertaining sides around ,eg we only saw on Sunday as we leave further down on south side there is plenty of boats for hiring for trips and some lot of good restaurants. It must be standard to give visitors induction and briefing about the area especially foreigners
- Malini (8/5): Very good -
- Tuba (9/5): Perfect place to stay in North Mauritius - Loved the relaxed but well thought out aesthetics of this place and the location is great if you want to stay in the North without being in the super touristy spots. Lots of amenities like restaurants and a supermarket are within a few steps. Wish they had provided an induction in the kitchenette or had some basic food service (like breakfast).
- Conrad (8/5): Good stay for a couple of days - The rooms are comfortable, clean and the balconies are fantastic to have a coffee on in the mornings and a drink at night. It is close to restaurants, shops and the beach. It is also right by the bus stop to Grand baie. There was no fridge in our room, there is a communal fridge in the communal kitchen but it is rather gross as everyone puts there things in there. Even just a small fridge in the room would be fine, just to put some milk and drinks in.
- Malcolm (10/5): Enjoyed my stay very much - Rooms and bathroom is spacious. Location is perfect. Across from the best beach No bar fridge and smart tv
- Louise (10/5): Great room - Great Boutique hotel literally across the road from the beach. Loads of restaurants near and a winners supermarket walking distance. Little kitchen and good fridge. If you are on a budget super U offer great meals to take away. Lovely sized room. Had a great stay shower was fantastic.
- Lex (9/5): Dodola Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. It's super close to the beach. Winners supermarket is up the road, and th - The lodge was well-kept, clean, and classy. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Dodola Lodge. Nothing.
- Balraj (8/5): Friendly staff - Location & cleanliness
- Shannen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Turcu (3/5): Not bad not terrible not coming again - Good spacious room with a balcony, clean, nice staff, straightforward check in and out. Decent check out time (I’m not a morning person) No mini fridge.
Had to use their common storage to put our food in.
I think they may have rats in the common fridge, wether human or non-human is a different question. One of these rats ate my food so be careful
- Anonymous (9/5): We had a very pleasant stay at Dodola Lodge n will surely book it again in the near future - Very nice n cosy room. The beach was just across the road n all facilities are very near to the Lodge.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (2/5): What a mistake - N/A When booking months in advance we specifically indicated not to be allocated ground floor unit but that exactly what we've got, a dark cave, no privacy even in the bathroom, when seated on the porch passing traffic is about 2m from you, and Achtung, electric fence, about a meter. No tropical paradise experience rather that of a detention camp. Pereybere beach is about 200m, small, crowded, unattractive, if needed some shade no other beach in a walking distance. Car is essential here for daily escapes, but again parking is in a short supply. Staff, nice and polite does not apply to arrogant female at the reception doing our check-in.
- Griffiths (8/5): Family Holiday - Opposite the beach and easy access to the beach
- Stoyan (9/5): Superb -
- David (7/5): Nice boutique ish hotel near beach and restaurants. - Lovely staff, good location, outside seating. Had to wait a bit for check in as nobody there. Kitchenette facilities very minimal.
- Jason (8/5): Clean and friendly hotel very close to Pereybere public beach - Located in a quiet side street just off the main road and very close to Pereybere public beach. My room was spotlessly clean and was serviced everyday. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are a handful of restaurants on the main road nearby.
- Martin (8/5): - The (very) big plus for Jag's Villa is the location - 5 min. drive to the airport. Otherwise the rooms are standard, clean and without any deficiencies. The property is fenced/gated. The housekeepers are very friendly and accommodating.
One issue travelers should be aware of: the only accepted payment form is CA$H. (receipt may be a hagle).
- Christian (9/5): Great place to base yourself in the North West - Great balance between comfort and value, without much compromise on comfort.
- Karen (9/5): Recommended - Enter by the little zen pool, check in with the friendly staff then relax on your street side balcony or head to the beach to watch the sunset. Very comfortable and clean but won’t break the bank. This little place is set slightly back from the main road so it’s fairly quiet (although there is a little street noise) Conveniently close to the beach, bus stop, supermarket etc Small things - no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom. No coffee, only tea in the room
- Hazal (9/5): Superb - There was no mosquito net, so we couldn' t open the windows
- Yogeenee (7/5): Good - Great location just a short walk to the beach and great food spots nearby. Crêpe restaurant right downstairs too! Spacious rooms! Not very accommodating staff, no one working past a certain hour which can prove difficult.
One of the lights in the bulkhead above the curtain blew with an extremely loud pop waking up our baby leaving us without power for what would have been the entire night (since there were no staff present) if not for a bit of searching to find the breaker switches.
The bathroom is poorly designed and leaks water everywhere into the living space despite the design supposedly supporting it. Absolutely no way to clean the water afterwards other than to let it dry or use one of the limited towels supplied.
This may be common, but needing to insert our key card to receive power is very inconvenient, ESPECIALLY when only given one card despite booking for two guests.
- Philippe (9/5): Very comfortable and helpful staff and management …and was very restful staying there. - Nice location , easy access and very comfortable Modern design was lacking in some practicalities. Bathroom had nowhere to hang towels and water pressure was pulsing ( 2nd floor) and drains were blocked.
- Isidora (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yosef (4/5): No value very expensive very basic - Nothing Everything like military base
- Charles (8/5): Very good -
- Sneha (8/5): Very good - We really liked Dodola Lodge's location, bed, washroom and the host. In comments, people have written that the bed is small..can understand as it could be for people who are extremely tall. (6.1" and above) However for Asians, i feel it is a good fit.
We felt room was spacious.
People can choose this location as it is very near to the bus and taxi stop. Also, both French and Indian cuisine restaurants are just within 7-15 minutes walking distance. (Would suggest to try La Brunchetta for breakfast and Nitzana for lunch. For Pizza, one can try Mississippi Fried chicken - I am pure vegetarian and these places really worked out well for me)
Buses take u directly to Mont Choisy, Grand Baie beaches which is within half an hour and is in one straight road.
Pereybere beach which is just a minute from Dodola lodge is nice to see the sunset. Honestly there was nothing to dislike, it was a lovely stay.
- Lebogang (7/5): Good -
- Erica (10/5): Fantastic - The rooms are very clean and big. 2 minutes walk from the beach.
- Sonia (7/5): Good -
- Claudia (7/5): Good -
- Inneke (8/5): Great location. Very clean. - Close to beach, taxi, car rental. Helpful and friendly staff. Very clean. Lovely bathrooms. Nice common kitchen. No swimming pool. Beds were not the most comfy but passable. Make sure to ask if your room has a bar fridge.
- George (8/5): Very good - Proximity to the beach, room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Wendy (1/5): Not a good stay - I think the only positive was that when we asked for a smart TV they made sure we got one. The room was not clean.
The kitchenette was poor, with very little to use, microwave was dirty, fridge very noisy. Bathroom very dark. The shared kitchen upstairs also not clean and smelt bad, would not recommend Dodola Lodge.
- Jennifer (9/5): Great Spot! - After doing lots of research about where to stay in Mauritius we choose Perebeye and the Dodola Lodge. The room was perfect. We choose one with a kitchenette. There was a drying rack on the patio although the cloths dried best in the room as it was humid outside. They have a shared kitchen with a fridge and cooking area if you didn’t go the kitchenette route but to have everything you need in the room was amazing, glassware, plates, utensils, mugs, kettle, fridge, hand towel, cutting board, microwave and counter space. They even provide a sponge and liquid soap. The only thing missing was an ice cube tray. We improvised and made ice using small paper cups and at one point even aluminum muffin tins. The hotel provides soap but no shampoo or conditioner. The shower has plenty of hot water and the aircon works great. There are black out curtains and a safe in the room. Beach towels are available at 50MR each and you can keep them as long as you like.
Mitch was helpful in any info we needed and responded to my emails quickly before arrival.
The grocery store is less than a 5 minute walk away and has everything you could want. The fresh baked baguette ( 9MR ) was a staple for sure. A 6 pack of phoenix beer about 375 MR.
The location is great, and since on a side street very quiet. 2 min walk to an ATM, fried chicken, pizza, crepes, 3 min walk to the bus and an amazing food truck at the beach, 4 min walk to the taxi stand, 4 or 5 restaurants and then the super market. The beach is great, crowded with locals enjoying, picnicking, a pentanque court and playing music. The sun sets right into the ocean – the view is incredible. The bus to Grand Baie takes 5 minutes and is 24 MR. In terms of exercise by walking there are no side walks and the cars go whizzing by, if you bring water shoes you can start on the beach and continue to the right and walk all the way to another long stretch of beach. The bathroom windows didn't seal when closed allowing mosquitos an entry point so we bought tape and covered the spots so the room was mosquito free from then on.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isidora (9/5): Wonderful, we will come again for sure! - Perfect location, next to Pereybere. Spacious rooms and very kind staff. No hand/face towels provided in the room. That’s the only con I can find.
- Reg (7/5): Overall was good. - Clean room but need a bar fridge to keep your drinks and milk has coffee is provided ,also need a lift specially for elderly guest has it is hard to carry your belongings upstairs. no fridge in the room and the stairs.
- Richard (9/5): Great accomdation and great location - Love the location near restaurants and the Pereybere beach. Room was clean. The shower head can flood the bathroom
- Catherine (10/5): - Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely clean room. Excellent value for money.
- George (6/5): Convenient but basic place to stay - Great staff I was expecting a small discount, I paid for 11 nights but stayed 9 but this did not happen. Flight problems made me two days late. I advised the staff before I arrived and this was agreed but i have yet to see it
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cangeris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caron (9/5): Superb -
- Emre (8/5): Very good - Hotel is very close to Perebeye beach. The staff is helpful and room is modernly designed and new W
