- Maddison (9/5): The stay was fantastic overall. The views were stunning, and the room itself was beautiful - The stay was fantastic overall. The views were stunning, and the room itself was beautifully presented. The bed was especially comfortable, soft, yet still very supportive, which made for a great night’s sleep. The location is also a big plus, as it’s conveniently close to everything you might need. The only slight downside is that it can be a bit tricky to find the first time, especially in the dark, but once you know your way, it’s perfectly manageable. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would happily stay here again. The only minor drawback for me was that the room didn’t have its own fridge. While there is a fridge available in the communal area, I personally prefer having one in the room, especially when I’ve settled in for the evening and don’t want to step out again. It’s definitely more of a personal preference than a major issue, but having a fridge (and ideally a microwave) in the room would have made the stay even more convenient.

James at the office received us in a most welcoming & friendly manner. He made excellent recommendations of sites to visit, beaches , tours, cafes & restaurants. In fact we went strictly by his recommendations and it was a perfect 10! We will be back and will recommend to our contacts! Enjoyed all amenities.

Super groot houten huis en grote kamers wat voor onze groep met 9 personen geweldig was. Fijn schoon zwembad. Vriendelijke eigenaar die tips gaf over de omgeving. Op korte afstand van de Waterfront waar veel winkeltjes en restaurants zijn. Zeer gedateerd huis en oud sanitair. Huis ligt best afgelegen. Slechte gordijnen op enkele kamers dus vroeg wakker door de ochtend zon. Open terrein zonder hek, poort of bewaking waar iedereen op en af kan lopen. Ondanks dat de eigenaar ook op het terrein woont voelde het toch wat minder veilig dan op andere plekken van onze reis.

- Annika (8/5): - Da wir die einzigen Gäste in dem Haus zu der Zeit waren, haben wir ein kostenloses Upgrade bekommen, das war super nett. Wir haben uns auch alleine sehr sicher gefühlt. Die Einbindung in die Natur ist atemberaubend und einmalig. Dafür ist die Innenstadt und The Heads ein paar Autominuten entfernt. Das Zimmer war morgens sehr hell, da nicht alle Fenster verdunkelt werden konnten.

- Len (7/5): A fun, relaxing break in amazing surrounds. - Great location and plenty of room for our group. The fireplace and big screen tv are a highlight. The rooms are neat, though looking a bit dated. Unfortunately the gas hadn’t been checked properly before we arrived, so we had to wait a bit for that to be done. Fortunately the property manager allowed us to use his cylinder until ours were refilled. The two single beds that were usually in the ground floor room were both broken and in storage, but we were able to use one of the mattresses which the manager allowed us to move to one of the rooms.

Uncomfortable. - amazing setting, wonderful ambience. the advertisement did not mention it is basically a boarding house, with rooms and shared amenities. it could be very uncomfortable to have five couples trying to cook in the same self-catering kitchen, or sharing the 40 m2 porch with a view and barbeque. up front honesty about what the place is, is required.

- Steyn (2/5): Falsely advertised: Hostel Experience at Hotel Price - Great location and stunning views. Falsely advertised. The rental was for a room in a shared house with several strangers. This was not disclosed until arriving and made the entire time there awkward and uncomfortable. Additionally, the staff entered the house unannounced while we were there, and the caretaker had several loud domestic disputes from their residence directly below our room. We were advised to park our vehicle under one of the security cameras due to high risk of break-ins in the area, however the only two spots were occupied by guests and staff, forcing us to park in an unsafe, unlit area. While the house had decent amenities and breathtaking views from the veranda, the other guests occupied them throughout our stay (leaving personal belongings on the seats/tables), and we could not enjoy all that we paid for. Additionally, the waste from prior guests was not removed, causing a bad odor in the shared space.

- Alastair (6/5): We enjoyed our time in Knysna, but will not return to this lodge again. - Location The gallery pictures are grossly misleading - they were obviously taken when the lodge was built and new. Sadly, they are no longer a good reflection of the lodge. Basically, it is in desperate need of renovation and general maintenance. I made a list of 15 things in room 6 that need urgent replacing and/or renovation. The lodge is self catering, but it is totally reliant on mains power, and load shedding makes that almost impossible. We had to eat out, which must be costed in. The company that owns it is in Cape Town, and appears to have very little interest in the business other than as a source of income. Sad, but true.

- Merker (6/5): Pleasant - Uncomplicated check In and check out. The view A bit too loud when more guests are using the living room and the kitchen. You can here it in the room. Bath tub in the room (carpet und Wood around) not the best.

- Mz (9/5): Perfect for a short stay in Knysna. - Beautiful place at the water in the green. We were the only guests that night and had it all to ourselves. The mornings are wonderful for birdwatching. It's very close to Knysna, with wonderful views. It's clean and spacious, with a community kitchen. Perfect for a stay around Knysna.
- Kathryn (6/5): Esther was a treasure and so accommodating with all our luggage. - Esther was soo helpful and lovely when checking us in. The location is lovely Fortunately we were lucky enough to get the accommodation to ourselves, we did not realise that it is one big house to share, I would not have liked to share the house with people I did not know as its all one communal space, except the bedroom, so no privacy. The pool looked very dirty.
- Stephen (10/5): Did a week at this property with my wife, it was so relaxing. She could swim in the pool and I went fishing (Epic Grunte - Lovely home with an amazing view and the mostly epic fishing spot.
- Ntsiki (8/5): Very good - It was beautiful, clean and fully equipped for a group of 10. The host was lovely 😍. Ño cleaning services provided.
- Bhati (10/5): Good stay - Amazing property.. very spacious .. had a great view lagoon side ..and the host was very friendly .. provided us with whatever we required.. well equipped property with amazing kitchen and siting areas . Only one issue was there of electricity and WiFi .. WiFi was not good at all
- Ncube (8/5): Outstanding - Spacious home, our kids enjoyed running around . We brought everything for self catering except salt and pepper😀. Would be great to atleast have that for the guests. Back up during load shedding would be appreciated.

- Marius (6/5): Grratful stay and a warm welcome . - Amazing location with very friendly Esther that went out of her way . Really VIP hosting . Fantastic views and spacious. Electric blanket switched on but didn't heat up. Freeeeeeezing cold . Was disappointed to see no perimeter fence or beams of any sort since of security as I am in the security fencing industry. At least a 1200mm high fence with beams would be great for a peace of mind at night .

- Drinkwater (9/5): Knysna stop over - Esther was very welcoming and accommodating. She let me come early and was easily contactable. She also explained about load shedding. I was the only guest that night, so I had the whole place to myself. The living area and kitchen were communal, which I hadn't fully appreciated when I first booked. The bedroom was lovely with doors to the veranda, and the views were breathtaking. Both front and back. I didn't go in, but the pool looked very inviting! The housekeeper offered to carry my bags to my car, which I declined, but then Esther kindly asked the gardener to take my case! A very pleasant stop over. The whole lodge needed a little bit of TLC. The cupboard units , shower, etc. were looking a little tired.
- Petra (9/5): Superb - Everything! Kind reception. Clean kitchen to use. Even the tea towels were clean. That means a lot to me. I think the room can get quite hot. I had to open windows and get fresh air in on arrival. But that may have to do with the fact that the house is made of wood.
- Kristen (10/5): Fabulous stay in Knysna - Fantastic nights stay. Host was very friendly and helpful. The views are absolutely stunning. The villa was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a 2 large families. We would most certainly stay again.
- Diedre (10/5): superb views and all the comforts of home! - the easy access from the road entrance to knysna- the parking - all amenities offered at the property- from pool to bbq to full kitchen while we were given torches for loadshed, it would be good to have some extra powered lighting at night-especially from a security point of view for the Manager as well as the guests
- Nhlakanipho (10/5): Exceptional - An absolute gem of a property! Our host, Esther was so warm and welcoming, and so was the rest of the staff. The property is right on Knysna River, so the view is great. There's also a large shared kitchen and scullery fully equipped with everything you'd need during your stay. Ample plug points around the house were a plus.
