Staff didn’t always want to listen, My laundry came back damaged and we booked the romantic dinner on the beach, they asked where we would like to eat at the hotel, when we asked for the recommendation and the best spot for our special occasion they sat us at the bar with limited menu, instead of the resteraunt on the beach ( we didn’t know existed, until later).

Personale gentilissimo, educato, simpatico e sempre disponibile (meravigliosi con il nostro bimbo). Pulizia eccellente, addirittura le ragazze ti preparano il letto con la zanzariera tutte le sere. Bello il fatto di poter scegliere dove mangiare (menù a la carte, con ogni giorno piatti fuori menù), se al Mvuvi (cucina appena più ricercata) o al Beach lounge (5 minuti a piedi attraverso la spiaggia) dove si mangiano anche pizze/hamburger e panini, e c’è una bellissima piscina. We could enjoy the whole day at the beach, but staying at the hotel territory. The hotel brand has 2 hotels. The second one is 100m away and the guests can use all facilities as well. It was an unexpected advantage, as the second hotel had a big infinity pool. The terrace for breakfast and dinner had a perfect beach and sea view. The room was very spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. Compared to other spots we stayed at Zanzibar more north, this beach had very strong tides and the water always had a lot of grass and was a bit muddy. There are a loooot of locals at the beach trying to see you stuff, which made it difficult to walk between two hotel territories.

Was uns nicht so gut gefallen hat, ist der instabile Strom. Wir hatten jeden Tag mehrere, kurze Stromausfälle in unserem Zimmer, nie lang, aber häufig genug, dass es genervt hat. Der Pool in diesem Hotel selber ist auch sehr klein, auf den Fotos beim buchen war der Pool des Nachbarhotels zu sehen. Den man mitbenutzen kann, wofür man allerdings erstmal über den Strand rüber laufen muss, wo man alle paar Meter von Verkäufern angesprochen wird. Was, auch wenn diese alle sehr freundlich sind, etwas anstrengend sein kann. Das war vorher nicht klar, da viele Bilder hier auf booking das nachbarhotel zeigen. Die Preise für den Transport sind auch im Verhältnis zu anderen Orten, an denen wir waren, recht hoch. Der Fakt, dass die Preise rein für eine Strecke sind hätte auch etwas besser beim buchen kommuniziert werden können

It has two facilities located ~100m from each another and the guests are free to use both. Just for you to know, you will be bothered with lots of locals trying to sell stuff as in the most of the beaches in Zanzibar. But let me say what I liked at the hotel: - Very friendly staff. We were checked-in a bit earlier and they offered us a free room upgrade and overall the stuff was very attentive to any needs we might possibly have. They have a local board game called Bao. One of the staff member showed us how to play and it was very nice and interesting. - Restaurants. Delicious meals and drinks - Comfy Rooms. - Great and clean pool (which you need when the sea is in low tide) - Sometimes the stuff cares for you too much :) When you want to have some quiet rest and do not want to talk to anybody but many people from the stuff coming to talk to you. It's good anyways but sometimes it might be a little bit too much Overall, I rate the stay for ~9.5 of 10 and thank to the stuff since they work hard to make sure your holiday is perfect. - E (9/5): Superb - Mvuvi is a really nice boutique hotel. We stayed in the family room, which are large rooms, well laid-out. The breakfast was really good, extensive range of choice and view over the beach. You have the choice to eat at both of their hotels (a short walk over the beach). We booked the half-board and dinner options were plenty, both a la carte as well as a different 3 course menu every day. A perfect option if you are a kitesurfer of foiler with a sympathetic, professional kite centre on site. Depending on who made the cappuccino, it was excellent or average.

The beach in front of the hotel was not as good as other beaches we visited on the island. Service at the restaurant can be slow, so it’s worth ordering in advance.

Det var renholdspersonale innom flere ganger i løpet av dagen (men bare når vi var ute). Personalet var utrolig hyggelige. Det var fredelig og stille. Fint basseng til barna. God mat. Veldig gøy å prøve vannsport med instruktører tilknyttet hotellet. Vi reiste videre på zanzibar, men valgte å dra tilbake for å avslutte oppholdet på dette stedet da vi trivdes så godt her.

The food is unfortunately not the same standard as last year and inconcistent. Sometimes very good and sometimes disappointing. The service is also too slow. I also believe the prices for excursions and watersports are too high. We did all activities outside of the hotel at much lower costs.

Hardly when you put your feet on the beach, no possible to walk peacefully because all Masai come to you to sell stuff. It’s was annoying even if the hotel is not responsible for that. One person of the staff members at breakfast was really unpleasant and made some errors with orders.

They use a WhatsApp group to inform you of opportunities and activities. And a direct WhatsApp to organize transfers and answer questions. The breakfasts are delicious. I also loved the salt water pool. I stayed on the beach lounge side of the property in room 16 (up stairs) my colleague stayed in the room below (12) that had convenient walk out. Both had sea view.

The staff was amazing, Grace was so helpful in booking my excursions. My flight home wasn’t until night time and Grace was kind enough to let me stay in a different room free of charge until it was time to go. If it wasn’t for Grace and the staff, my trip wouldn’t have turned out as great as it did. I wish it was more things to do at the property, but it is a boutique hotel so you can’t expect too much.

The team at the hotel were so lovely and attentive. We had a few electrical issues with our room, but they were absolutely on top of it and were able to move us to another room that was perfect. They were so helpful when organising excursions and being around to answer any questions. The hotel has such a family feel and was exactly what we were looking for for our holiday. The food at both restaurants is also delicious and uses so many local ingredients. Mvuvi/The Beach Lounge made for one of the best beach holidays we've had.

- Guillaume (10/5): Excellent hotel, great food, top staff - We stayed at the annex of the Mvuvi which is 100 metres south of the main buildings, still on the beach of course. We were a bit concerned when they took us there on arrival that it would not match the good comments from the main hotel. We need not have worried: the family room was brand new, cleverly arranged, very well built and finished, with two levels of stunning views on the Indian Ocean. There is a beautiful pool, shaded areas, and the whole hotel is an extension of the gorgeous beach in front. Talking about the beach, we had read about people feeling harassed by the various vendors but did not find it a problem. The beach was clean, the tides were not an issue, nor was the very limited seaweed (August). We had partially selected the hotel based on good comments about the meals, and the food did not disappoint. Kudos to the chefs. And finally the owners and staff, all excellent and who made this a great stay. Thank you everyone!

Staff are so helpful and kind. Watershoes being available are a big plus for the rocky areas of the beach. Only thing I missed was having a gym. Tried running on the beach but some folks try to sell you things and harass a little. They may be harmless but it’s awkward and hard to enjoy a run when you have to avoid those people. Otherwise we loved our stay there!

- Bianca (10/5): A quiet oasis with great personal touches. - We have booked this hotel as our wedding venue and we went ahead to scout the location and hotel. The hotel was very accommodating. By far the nicest property on the stretch of Kiwengwa beach. Wonderful personal touches throughout the stay and a quiet oasis. Felt very private. Kiwengwa Beach itself is a little disappointing. It is more of a bay and therefore has a lot of seaweed and mud build up which can sometimes make it look less clean. Not an ideal swimming location but Mvuvi do provide water shoes to make the experience more enjoyable.
- David (10/5): Everything I read was true! - When you book a hotel you always read reviews with a pinch of salt. This hotel has fantastic reviews and with good reason. Everything from the welcome to our departure was absolutely first class without exception. A few members of staff deserve a special mention - Bernard, Mtoto, Nema and Baracka all helped make our stay extra special. The staff in general are exceptional including the kitchen staff who turn out superb food time after time and catered to my wife’s vegetarian requirements admirably. Would we stay again? Yes, in a heartbeat.

Der Gezeitenunterschied ist schon sehr groß, so das man nicht zur jeder Zeit gut schwimmen kann. Es gibt sehr viel Seegras, das aber jeden Morgen vor dem Hotel eigenen Strand entsorgt wird. Beim Schnorcheln am Strand ist leider nichts zu sehen. Das Haus Riff ist zu weit entfernt. Wir haben uns den Ausflug mit dem Boot gespart. Die angebotenen Ausflüge die wir gemacht haben waren super organisiert.

Toiletries were provided and were of high quality. Staff were lovely and responded to all needs. Beds were made twice a day, an unexpected surprise. Breakfast was fantastic, a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and fruit juice, followed by fruit platters and cooked breakfast, toast or yogurt. A sister beach club is round the corner allowing for a 2-in-1 feel to staying at this hotel. The private beach area with security guards was welcomed. This area has wide long beaches with soft sand. Lots of water activities to get stuck into. 10/10 N/A
