• John (10/5): Absolutely beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings with wonderful hosts. - This is an absolutely beautiful cottage and in beautiful surroundings, with just a short stroll through the woods to the Barrington River. The hosts have thought of everything, from the fully equipped kitchen kitchen to the comfortable beds, to the two lounge areas with comfortable leather recliners, to the recreation equipment - even a table tennis table! A stroll through the cottage looking at the photos that adorn the walls of almost every room is like taking a guided tour of the history of Gloucester, Barrington and the Gloucester Basin. And being able to have a bath outside in the open air, in complete privacy but with expansive views across to the mountains, was a special treat. Wonderful hosts who, although we didn't get to meet them as they were busy meeting their new grandson in the Blue Mountains, went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

• Tanesha (10/5): Perfect, peaceful and will definitely be back again! - It is such a welcoming, cozy place. It’s very neat and tidy and we absolutely loved how they have kept with that older feel/style, just makes it that much more cozy. All the photos and information in the photo frames around the house was so interesting to look at and read. They were just really accommodating and communicated well. They even set out cups for us for tea and coffee and we just thought it was really kind of them There was nothing to not like

• Dongmei (10/5): Exceptional stay at the stunning Mansfield cottage - It was a great get away at this beautiful cottage which affords the absolute privacy and peace and solitude that we all need at times. We love the cosy setting of the house (like being at home), the spacious outdoor setting, the gorgeous garden, the mountain scenery from every angle of property, the outdoor bath/shower, the giant gum tree outside (along with the swings), and the best bit - the convenient access to the beautiful creek... The communication from the owners were exceptional during our stay - they provided daily weather updates, information (and recommendations) re visiting sites and road conditions. It was heart warming. Thank you Rick and Jill, we will be back 😊.

• HEATHER (9/5): Very enjoyable. - The house was very cosy and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Having firewood provided was very helpful. The table tennis was a hit with the adults as was checking the hen house for eggs with the children. The property was well maintained and the walking track to the river and the fairy garden was peaceful. Bedside lights or light switch would be good in the games room/bedroom (the switch is located in the main bedroom).
• Luke (10/5): Excellent winter stay - 2nd time stay with my family at this property. Quiet spot on the river. Outside bathtub and shower was a hit with the kids. Kids also enjoyed getting up each morning and going to check if the chickens had laid any eggs. House is nice and cosy with all the things you need. Indoor fireplace is great when cold.

• Lisa (9/5): Girls weekend away - The house was very roomy and clean. Lots of condiments provided and plenty of tea towels. Outdoor bath was great. Outdoor shower was very invigorating. No towel hooks for outdoor shower, no outdoor heater for verandah

• Jodi (9/5): Lovely family escape - Cute little cottage, well equipped with everything we needed. Great for the kids. Property very clean. I really enjoyed reading all the little bits of historic information and looking at pictures hanging in the living areas. The kids enjoyed the table tennis, backyard cricket, fairy garden and collecting eggs from the chickens. The outdoor bath was a big favourite, even in the rain. It was a lovely escape for a few days Main toilet was outside, not great for younger kids at night time.

Amidst the incredible variety of birds and wildlife. The view is simply breathtaking. The Cottage is spotless and beautifully appointed. We used the Outdoor Bath and Showers everyday - they were so relaxing!!! Jill & Rick are amazing Hosts, they kept us updated with regular messages, full of information. • Rob (10/5): Home away from home A great little tree change. - Mansfield definitely feels like arriving at a nice family home. We were made welcome right from the first booking message. With many massage giving us information to help our stay even better. Everything was ready for us to start our stay right away. The ground were beautifully mowed just before our arrival and the garden well look after and full of Birdlife. The beds are super comfy as well. There is plenty of information around to help enjoy your stay. Don't forget to check out the fairy garden in the woods. But the outdoor bathhouse was amazing. Soaking in the bath with a glass of wine watching the sunset doesn't get much better. We booked another stay while we were there. Can't wait to return. Leaving!

Comfortable home with plenty of room, reverse cycle aircon, interesting historical/nature info, lots of thoughtful touches to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Nothing that important - maybe a few less little labels around the house?

• Arthur (8/5): Loved it and would highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful traditional country stay - Beautiful property. Barrington River running through through the rear boundary. Amazing bird life not to mention the girls in the chook pen providing us with fresh eggs daily. Fabulously maintained gardens. So well stocked we took home a lot of things we didn’t need to bring. Hosts that bend over backwards to make sure you have a great stay. Outdoor hot /cold showers were our favourite perk. Not much. Having to go out to the back veranda to go to the toilet in the middle of the night is an inconvenience.

• Socksey (9/5): Family Fun - Mansfield Cottage is a spacious house with 2 lounge rooms to relax in, ample space in the 4 bedrooms & a well appointed kitchen with all the necessities. The ping pong table made for fun together time & although we didn't use the numerous TV's with video & DVD options they were there if needed. The cottage is in a pretty setting with the hills, river & birdlife. The walk around the Fairyland & down to the river is very nice & a fun way to entertain the family. The fresh eggs & other necessities were an added bonus. The other added touches like an apron next to the BBQ, the fire lit in the lounge room for our arrival all made for a lovely stay. Not an issue but handy to have a torch to access the main toilet on the back verandah at night so as not to wake the other guests.

The position was brilliant, views to the west to watch the sunsets. Sitting around the fire relaxing, reading, playing card games. checking the chickens for eggs. Enjoyed our time there.

Would highly recommend and love to return! - Excellent fire place, rooms were large and very comfortable, peaceful location and removed from town but still only a 10min drive away. An inside toilet in addition to the outside toilet/s would be a nice addition, especially in winter or in a larger group. We managed very well with 4 adults and in late April :)

A beautiful quaint little cottage full of charm and character. Everything was catered for and more. Our hosts had thought of everything including fresh eggs from the resident chooks. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. A short walk to the river and the scenery beautiful. We were a party of 7 and would highly recommend this beautiful old cottage and their hosts. Wonderful time had by all. nothing it was perfect!
