Guest Reviews
- Ian (8/5): - Very hospitable, and welcoming, however quite isolated for travellers. Need to be prepared for evening meals.
Thoughtful decor.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Isolated and questionable safety… - The lodge is beautiful but needed to understand it is extremely isolated and nowhere to get dinner within a 30 minute drive … it did say the hosts provided dinner but after trying to contact them some 18 times the number was continually busy. There were mo hosts on arrival and after searching did find someone who delivered some logs and left us to light the fire. We were in bed by 7:30pm and was looking forward to breakfast however on plugging in the heater to cook eggs all of electricity blew and there was no one around to tell and we couldn’t find a fuse box so at 7:00am we were on the road. The Lodge is lovely but no instructions or ability to contact the hosts and questionable safety of the electrics is worrying… very sad but was a lot of money to have such a bad stay.
- David (10/5): - What a tranquil setting. And, my goodness, wallabies everywhere! Be sure to order dinner. It was one of the best meals I had in Australia.
- Sam (10/5): - lovely hosts, quaint room with separate entrance and very sweet sitting room. All very comfortable and homely. And again, your hosts are just lovely - served me a delicious roast lamb with all the trimmings!
- John (10/5): - Friendly hospitality from hosts. Recommend.
- Christine (10/5): - Enjoyable being exposed to the countryside.
Lovely hosts. Enjoyable evening meal.
- Maggie (10/5): - Nice environment
Quality furnitures and linens
Clean
- Ho Wan (10/5): - Very nice stay
- Maria (10/5): - Wonderfull cottage. Great hosts and appreciated the eggs for breakfast.
- Kevin (6/5): Dissapointing Stay - We found the information from the search misleading. If we had known that the venue was 4 km up a sife road several kms from the non town of Little Swanport we would never have booked it.
I guess it was a real B & B as it had no food preparation facilities but we were not offered a meal. In fact when I went to find the host to ask him about meal options I could not find either he or the lady of the house. So we made do with toast and sandwiches.
- Paul (8/5): Off the beaten track. - Quirky place with lots of rooms to enjoy out in the middle of nowhere. Would definitely need a car. No facilities nearby but a lovely evening meal was provided at extra cost. Breakfast provisions included. Lots of wildlife on the property.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was 5 km along a dirt road....not menrioned in the blurb.
Comfortable bed & decent sized rooms.
I kind of thought as it is bed & breakfast that I would get a cooked breakfast not just cereal & toast
It was very noisy during the night - I could hear people moving around & talking & dishes clattering. Not very restful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - After a long day of travel and not planning ahead,it was great to arrive and be able on short notice to be served a warm home cooked meal and be able to relax without having to go out again. Top marks for hospitality 😊
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Remote and relaxing property. Lots of wildlife around. Great location to just relax.
- Michelle (8/5): - This was nice, but a bit remote. Unfortunately the creaky floorboards everywhere kept us light sleepers awake.
- James W. (10/5): Relaxing get away - It was very relaxing. Wonderful location
- Thomas King Yan (8/5): Comfortable stay with great host. - Good accommodation, nice host, lots of wild animals nearby, I met a wild tasmania devil right outside of the house. Very lucky.
- Eriko (10/5): Farm stay - Jane and Tom’s place is a wonderful cosy farm house with a big fireplace. Jane cooked a wonderful dinner and the desert was to die for. We really enjoyed our stay and we’d like to come back, maybe in summer next time! Thanks a lot!
- ian (10/5): Rural calm - Tough conditions on farm but an obvious air of peace when we arrived
We had all that was required and left to do our own thing
Chats with owners endorsed our views wth great love for all animals some of them coming close to us
A very quiet and happy time

- New grey nomad (6/5): located a fair distance from the main road, - they have limited drinking water, discoloured. They could of supplied purchased bottled water. For the price that you pay would of been acceptable.
The unsealed road to the location could be a problem if the roads wet, need to advise.
Otherwise would classify it as a pleasant experience.
- Joseph (10/5): - Thomas and Jane were LOVELY. We stayed at the lodge which was basically a small one bedroom house. It was very spacious and homey. We slept well given the comfort of the bed and how quiet and dark the location is. Janes gardens were beautiful and we loved learning more about Tasmania tourism. Make sure you sign up for the dinner - it was delicious and there are no better options nearby. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to Tasmania. What a lovely couple!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Incredibly peaceful - This was super! Wallabies were everywhere and once we booked in, we were free to explore. It was incredibly peaceful and quiet. It was a real treat being able to stay in the countryside. We loved it!!
- Susan (8/5): - Isolated, nice location. Bed was very small. Good provisions for breakfast. Space was a little cramped.
- Motza (10/5): Windsong B&B Tasmania - Lovely secluded setting and very friendly host. Excellent home cooked dinner was provided for a reasonable additional cost.
- Helena (10/5): Peaceful retreat - Loved arriving to see wallabies hopping around and to hear nothing but the birds and breeze in the beautiful garden. So quiet and restful - exactly what a B&B should be. Delightful host, lovely meal and comfortable rooms. Thoroughly recommended for those looking for tranquility and excellent access to wildlife.
- Ollie (10/5): Beautiful, secluded country location - Very quiet country farm stay with plenty wild life. Accomodation was clean and well prepared. Friendly and supportive owners supplied delicious food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing, bliss - Stayed for 3 nights. Was an amazing experience to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Stayed in the "Lodge", which was a well maintained, rustic and comfortable self contained accommodation.
- Bed was extremely comfy, which was ideal after long days of hiking
- Spent a lot of time next to the fireplace drinking wine and eating cheese
- Rural setting means all you can hear is the wildlife
- Everything you need as a base to explore East Tasmania
Tom and Jane were very welcoming and friendly, very hospitable hosts.
Convenient location as we had planned our trip around visiting Maria Island (must do) and Freycinet National Park (must do!)
Windsong is approx 7mins drive off the main highway on a partially sealed driveway. We hired a small Suzuki Swift and it had no issues on the driveway.
Recommend Windsong for those who love the outdoors and looking for a relaxing, peaceful holiday. Thanks Tom and Jane.
- lynn (8/5): Quiet relax with nature - Was spacious nd very comfortable. Bed excellent. Well off the main road on a dirt track with a gate to close. Kitchen facilities not the best. Washed dishes in bathromm but no washing up liquid nd no tea towel was lovely to see wildlife up close. I believe its possible to have a meal cooked for u but we didnt know this, although in visitors book there are glowing reports about last minute meals being served, nothing was mentioned. Tom seemed to be in a hurry to get us in our accomodation nd disappear, but overall a nice place
- Steve (6/5): Ok for short stay - Nice place a bit off the beaten track though not very close to any facilities .
Cooking facilities not great Pleasant owners and a great place for wallaby watching if your kids get bored.
- Gabriella (10/5): Top experience! - My mum and I stayed at Wind Song B&B for one night when we travelled through the east coast of Tasmania in December 2016. Jane and Tom were so lovely and made our stay very enjoyable. We just wished we had more nights here as it was so relaxing with such a beautiful location. We saw plenty of wallabies around the house after the sunset and my mum was enchanted with all the birds singing in the morning. Would definitely recommend staying here!
- Maryanne (8/5): Quiet country stay - This B n B is excellent if you're after a very quiet stay away from everything. We stayed in the "Garden Room" which was very comfortable with a separate tv and dining room. It felt like home away from home. Not the most modern of places but very very clean and comfy. Our host were very welcoming and friendly. Would stay again if in the area.
- Rick (10/5): Excellent country stop. - Excellent hosts. Excellent accommodation. Beautiful country location - only a short distance from Hobart. Suggest you order the 3 course meal ! We will visit again !
- Verified traveler (10/5): Ideal! - We have a very brief but lovely stay at wind song! It's a beautiful property run by a lovely couple. The rooms were really clean and suited to a short stay for a couple. The main beauty is the surroundings and the nature, with an associated peace and calmness! Would definetly recommend!
- David (8/5): A quiet B&B off the beaten track - Windsong is peaceful and quiet B&B set in farmland off the main east coast road. Lots of wallabies around and what was once beautiful countryside very badly affected by the current drought. Good access to the towns and places to visit on the east coast of Tassie. Very friendly and helpful hosts.
- michael (8/5): Pleasant surprise - Very good accommodation. Don't let the dirt track distract you because it's only 5 kms and you'll be nicely surprised when you get there
- Chee Wei (8/5): Peaceful, comfortable and beautiful place - Nice
- jill (10/5): Secluded - Nice quiet peaceful recharge of our batteries. Hosts very nice, and friendly.
- Teresa (10/5): Beautiful Bushland setting. - Little bit off the main road down a dirt track. A real hidden gem. Very comfortable stay. The owners were lovely friendly people very helpful. Would defineately stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great little place. - We had a great time spending overnight at Wind Song. Jane and Tom were very helpful accomodating with our request. We will definitely go back there in the future.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had lovely stay. The grounds around the property was beautiful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Large space, but nothing special - Our accommodation was very large and lots of tv choice. Not much available to do around the property. Breakfast was a standard fare of eggs, cereal or toast.
- kevin (10/5): Surprise - Imagine my surprise, we stayed here because noting else was available for the price. We had a little trouble finding it because the streets are not on google maps but if you want to spend several nights in a hotel room with the love of your life, this is perfect. Very comfy bed, Very friendly and obliging host, beautiful surroundings and possums and wallabies out the window.
- Fran (10/5): - Facilities: Home away from home, Clean and welcoming.; Value: Great deal, Value for money.; Service: Straight forward. ;
- Lanlan (10/5): A true home away from home - Once we walk in the rooms, we felt that we were home. Every little details were carefully looked after by the owner. Love the farm laid eggs provided for breakfast. Will definite return again next time when we visit Tas.
- Stanley H (10/5): A gem - Outstanding in all respects. Gracious & well decorated, large & comfortable. Enough kitchen equipment to turn out a gourmet meal! The wallabies visiting the property at dusk & dawn are fun to watch. Proprietors are very nice!
- Michael (10/5): - Facilities: Home away from home; Value: Affordable; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Spotless;
- jim (6/5): wing song b and b - wing song is a b/b in on a farm in paddock , we found it to far from any town and in winter by the time you check in all you can do is watch television providing the satellite connection is turn on by the owners which it wasn't in the morning. it had a good supplied breakfast and nice bed and shower.
- jeremi (10/5): Cute B&B away from any bustle, with friendly staff - We had a bit of a problem finding the turn off in the dark, but the staff were incredible helpful, and ensured that we found them ok. They went out of their way to help us get information about the next places we were going to as well. The rooms are spacious, and even include a separate lounge/dining room area with a television. I wish we were able to stay there for more than one night, as it was a very pleasant experience.
- Viji (10/5): Quiet, peace, pretty and cosy - We stayed in the blue room (garden suite) for 2 days. It was simply amazing. The house is about 4km off the main road. There is absolutely nothing to disturb you apart from sheep and wallabies. We felt like it was an escape to a pretty little English cottage in the country. The room, sitting area, bath room were all very clean and beautiful. We felt really homely when we came in the second day. Our host, Tom was really nice too.
- NJ (10/5): Lovely bush retreat! - Quiet area where you can enjoy nature and listen to the "wind song".
We will definitely go back again.
