The swimming pool was enticing but we didn't have time to try it. The WiFi signal kept dropping out at busy times of the day. It was a double room but only 1 easy chair. The traffic noise from the very busy road, particularly early mornings, was intrusive.

Fleur (8/5): Really nice people and room. Central location for our local family daily visits. - Lovely upstairs room with outlook over the courtyard and down to the pool and reserve in the back. Lovely and green and private and secluded considering is on a main road and would have thought otherwise. We had some 30 degree days while we were in Nelson so were extremely grateful for the lovely pool. Nicely kept and lovely and clean. Would recommended cleaning the deck as was very silty and dirty underfoot. Likely due to being on the main road but be great to add to daily room check list ;) I made our own beds each day and we stayed for five nights, would have been ideal to have one linen change.

The hosts were great, and were helpful at every turn - from checking room configuration in advance, to answering queries etc. The room we had was lovely, and the beds were super comfy! We utilised the laundry which was great too. The property is right on a main road - so easy to get around the area. We thought it might be nice to use the heated pool - but it was only heated in summer. Not a deal breaker, but would have been nice!

Judie (7/5): Very welcoming comfortable place to stay at the Richmond end of Nelson. - The motel was well-maintained, the decor was modern and relaxing, there were clothes washing facilities for guests (but $5 per load in each of the washing machine and drier), the kitchen was well-equipped, and the owners could not have been more kind and helpful. The location is great, on Highway 6 from Nelson to Murchison, and very close to Richmond's shops etc. You can get into central Nelson in 20 minutes at most. There was a table and chairs, and a comfortable lounging chair as well as the bed, and as a studio it was very spacious. My room was an upstairs studio that faced a very busy road, and noise was a problem. I had to keep the windows closed to keep out the noise, but also because the upper catch on each window was too high for me to reach to open or close it. The windows were not double-glazed, although there were curtains provided that did cut out a lot of the noise when closed. But during the day, it was really hot and I had to have the door open for some air. At some stage, when money allows, I think this room should be double-glazed. I also felt that it was somewhat over-priced at $210 per night, considering it was a studio with no balcony and road-facing. I would recommend that they drop the price a little. The other rooms that faced away from the road, and especially the rooms overlooking the pool area, would be a lot nicer - quieter, more peaceful.

Khushdeep (8/5): Great stay at the parkside motel. - Great stay overall at the parkside motel. Staff were very friendly. All the amenities in your room you would expect. Kitchenette had two smallish glass hobs, a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, cookware, cooking utensils (chopping board and knife), plates, cups and cutlery etc. Water from the tap tasted good as wemm. The bathroom had great shower pressure, a heater towel rails and fan. The pool is a nice addition as well. Our kids really enjoyed a dip in there. The motel is located close to the Richmond mall which is handy for supermarket shopping. We got pool toys from the kmart there. There is also a good carpark. The motel is located on a busy street. I dont think the windows are double glazed so you can hear street noise. If you're a light sleeper you'll notice this.

We also personally don't like not being able to remove electric blankets as we don't enjoy sleeping on them even if off. These ones were built into the underlay so we were stuck with them.

So much room, awesome shower pressure, fantastic spa bath, comfortable bed, lots of natural light, warm, very clean, good size balcony that was private. Lovely hosts too, friendly as well. Great place to stay and I travel a lot!!! That we didn't stay longer!

Jacob (9/5): A wonderful place to stay - Very friendly and helpful staff member who showed us how to use the laundry facilities (price was very reasonable too). The pool area is lovely, our apartment was spacious and very clean. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony, in the sun and watching the planes fly overhead. Only a minor thing, but the motel is on a very busy main road and it always took us a while to get out of the driveway.
