- Jeff (8/5): A great rural escape. - Cosy and had everything we needed. A bit far from nearest town.
- Wai Yi (8/5): - ok.
- Grace (8/5): It was a great farm experience. - Location and value for money plus the amenities Not enough bathroom for 3 rooms (5 adults). They should put in more cutleries please
- Hieu (8/5): - Arrived late at night, but the scenery in the morning is gorgeous. Our cabin is quite private, definitely for self driving only.
Rooms are clean and everything is well stocked 1 of the light in 1 room is not working
- Marcus (8/5): -
- Bernice (8/5): - Location was really good, we loved the view and the animals.
- Sean (10/5): - Views were excellent! Staff was very accommodating and nice to deal with, beds and the apartment were amazing too
- ArchitJ (4/5): Great location but disappointing property - The property is located at a very beautiful spot overlooking the mountains and farmland. We spotted lot of wildlife as well as horses and yalk who come quite close to the back fence. So, certainly a treat for the kids. The property was in shambles, and it seemed that there wasn't any effort put into maintaining it. Most of the things were very old and broken - sofas, cupboards, chimney, etc. So, we didn't really enjoy time at the property.
- Pramkamolrat (9/5): -
- Vandana (7/5): -
- Tere (6/5): - Nice view and perfect place for big group and near Cradle mountain
- Sam n Nicole (8/5): Great place for a large family group - The back deck was wonderful and we got to see the highland cows, donkeys and a horse up very close. The house accommodated our group of 10 comfortably and the kitchen was well stocked. We struggled to get the heating down into the bedrooms but the heating in the communal areas was great.
- Lish (7/5): - The heater was very efficient, the shower was excellent, and the beds comfy. Haphazard furnishings but rocking the old farm style.
- Emma (7/5): Lovely stay with everything you could need. It was special to wake up and see the donkeys, horses and cows. - Wonderful size. Everything you would need. Gas heater was good and shower was great. Wonderful to see the horses, cows and donkeys. Very outdated needs a face lift. Older than expected and beds were on the way out.
- Subrahmanyam (10/5): - very good nothing all good
- Rich (6/5): - The view was amazing. Looking at the stars at night over the mountain was brilliant. The size of the place was huge.
Was clean and tidy.
Ladynwas lovely and communication and access super easy.
Location for Cradle mountain and Davenport good. Extremely dated. All sofas unusable because of broken springs.
Ensuite sink cnt brush teeth as shelf in the way.
Shower tap surrounds fell off.
Heating great in front room but not really good enough to warm everything else. Very cold.
Just everything in general needs updating. Still has the 90s glow in the dark stars on the ceilings.
If it wasn't for the view I would have been extremely disappointed.
The worst condition hotel I have stayed in for years.
- CHRISTINE (10/5): A wonderful little getaway -
- Darryl (8/5): -
- KWL Hotmail (8/5): -
- Colleen (10/5): - This place has everything you need for a stay close to Cradle Mountain! It was lovely to have the Laundry facilities and kitchen and it felt like a little home in the middle of our holiday
- Joyceanne (10/5): Beautiful! - What I liked about the property that it was in the middle of no where, it was so peaceful and it’s only 3 mins away from Tasmazia promise land and 15mins away from Sheffield if you need to get some quick groceries they have an IGA. My studio room was perfect for single, a couple and a family of 3 as there’s a queen and single bed. It was so nice waking up and having MT Roland in such beautiful view. They could clean up a little around the property but unless that’s the style they going for. But otherwise my studio room was good enough for me for just an overnight stay
- sharon (10/5): - Great location and it had the best pillows
- Jeremy (9/5): - Comfortable house on a picturesque farm with great view Mt. Roland. Well equipped. Highland cattle, donkeys and horse for company. All our needs were catered for, we could have stayed for months. We live it. The houses are aging but they well maintained.
- Jacinta (10/5): It was beautiful to wake up and see the animals and mountain - It was a great family place to stay Nil
- Elizabeth (9/5): Beautiful rustic quiet setting, Everything you needed and more in the spacious loft. -
- ANTHONY (10/5): -
- Joshua (6/5): Highland cows close to Cradle - The highland cows and Donkeys were the best part Place was clean but needs a lot of work. Accommodation needs some love and attention.
- Janette (7/5): Comfortable and clean, but a little run down -
- PeiLing (8/5): -
- Chiu Jen (9/5):
- Mathew (9/5): Beautiful place to stay with family and kids so spacious and amazing view of the mountains and sunrise. - Stunning location Nothing really
- Supaporn (10/5): - All environment I really really like it
- Aldona J (8/5): - It was spacious. Beds were very comfortable. The owner needs to warn guest about the bulls..the animals are friendly, but can hurt someone with the horns. My husband got hit in the head by one of them. Also, the stove and oven don't have markings, so it took a long time to work out how to turn it on and we didn't know what temperature we are baking on.
- Belinda (10/5): -
- Hao (10/5): -
- Taryn (5/5): -
- Helen (7/5): -
- Chu (4/5): -
- Shermayne (9/5): - given the location, the accoms provide great value being rather close to cradle mountain. i loved the morning here, could spot some animals and appreciate the view of mount roland.
- Ean Loon (9/5): - Fully self contained with washing machine and tumble dryer Lighting as some didn't work
- Jack (6/5): - Nice quiet location with outdoor spaces Mattress on the fold out bed was quite bad.
- Sylvia (9/5): -
- Natalie (7/5): Comfortable farmstay accommodation with beautiful views - A big highlight and selling point for our kids were the farm animals that were friendly and we could pat. The highland cows especially!! The location was good for Cradle Mountain. Close to nearby Sheffield and 45 minutes drive to Cradle itself. Property faces Mt Roland and the views are spectacular!! Our cottage (Gumnut) was clean and comfortable. Like many of the other reviews the property is quite dated and in some places needs a lot of TLC. Communal facilities are basically abandoned and dilapidated except for the grassy secret gardens so don't expect the kids to be able to enjoy these. However we did spend most of our time out and about. Our cottage was tidy and comfortable but was missing a lot of light globes, had broken utensils and would have benefited from a couple of wine glasses. Lots of basic and cosmetic fixes would have made the difference.
- Tess (9/5): Overall I wouldn’t have changed it for the world .. such amazing space, view and people ! - This property was very spacious for a family of 3 .. perfect for what you want going away The only fault was the people before didn’t wash the dishes properly.. but that’s ok
- Anne (8/5): Relaxing stay - The loft is very spacious.. much bigger than a cabin size.
Great kitchen facilities
Great laundry facilities beautiful views
Loved the farm animals
Free bikes

- Bethany (8/5): Gorgeous Views - Wonderful location! Gorgeous views of the mountains from our accommodation. Spectacular scenery and grounds. Great to see donkeys, a horse and a highland cow also and plenty of wallabies around. All lot of the equipment was broken, such as the bikes, some exercise equipment, other outdoor games equipment and the video games consoles and arcade machine. A lot of cleaning up needed around the grounds with broken seats and equipment scattered around.
- Kylie (6/5): 45 min drive to cradle mountain. Our boys loved the cows and donkeys. - Great information provided for self check in. Heaps of room inside and outside for families. Nice clean linen! Maybe will need some renovations in the near future.
- Benn (7/5): -
- Nishant (6/5): -
- Lee (10/5): Lovely well equipped kitchen facilities n spacious and lovely farm stay! Greeted by farm animals daily by donkeys, horse - Lovely well equipped kitchen facilities n spacious and lovely farm stay! Greeted by farm animals daily by donkeys, horses, highland cows, ducks, chickens and excites all of us! Nil

- Wilson (9/5): -
- Samrat (6/5): -
- J (6/5): - Warme ontvangst. Keuken is erg ouderwets. De pannen waren erg versleten.
- Rajen (8/5): -
- Kritkaew (10/5): -
- Anne (8/5): A charming experience - The perfect farm stay experience with an amazing view of wildlife and Mt Roland.
Very spacious and close to Cradle Mountain .The Games Room kept us entertained with the pool table and table tennis .
- Shounik Maity (8/5): -
- WAI KENG (8/5): - A laundry dryer was provided. The trees and plants that blocked the accomodation signs need to be removed. ( I missed the turn twice on my way in. I had to ask a resident along this route to tell me where to look out for the sign board)
- Madeleine (7/5): Ok - The location was good Grounds and buildings need some work
- Praijit (9/5): Nice place, good value, but a bit old - Large cottage with a fully equipped kitchenette. The staff was nice and helpful. Quiet, with a real sense of nature. The nearest town is 15 mins away by car. The cottage is quite old and run-down, and it really needs some care and maintenance. There’s only a heater in the living room, and the heater and electric blankets in the master bedroom were not working.
- Shadow (8/5): Only stayed for one night. Good experience - Location - mountain, farm, country view, can see different animals Hot water pressure and internet connection was poor, I think due to location.
- Cooper (10/5): Loved it! Thanks xxx - Clean homely, friendly…. And The donkey and chickens!!! Totally happy!
- Scott (7/5): Loved our night at the Granary. Amazing view and comfortable Will be back - Amazing view!!! Clean and comfortable Could do with a little TLC
- Dee (9/5): A interesting place to stay - Location great very rural and the farm animals were fun to watch. It is very run down and could do with some TLC
- Leanne (8/5): Old but comfortable, we enjoyed staying here! - The people there were lovely, I loved seeing the animals in the paddock behind our cabin! The cabin was comfortable with everything we needed. Shower head would not stay up and needed fixing.
Did not like 2 of the pictures on the lounge room wall. They were creepy!
- Guo (9/5): -
- Boon Seng (9/5): -
- McNamara (10/5): You’ll wish you could stay longer - A home way from home!
- Ellie (10/5): Brilliant. Will return. - Love that we could see the animals in the paddocks and that the space was set up and comfortable like a home. Only thing was the dials on the stove had no numbers so couldn't use the oven. And the creaking floor boards - but that was so minor no big issue at all!
- Ella (8/5): -
- Stacy (7/5): -
- Melanie (10/5): - Very cute accommodation with beautiful surrounds. Reminded me of staying in older style cabins when I was a kid. Staff were very friendly. Didn’t bother us, the place has charm and nostalgia due to its older age others may prefer modern facilities.
- Pat (5/5): okay - location The property has great potential but is unfortunately very run down - both in the apartments and gardens.
- Adinde (10/5): - This was the best house of my entire trip to Tasmania. We were a group of eight friends and were very tired the day we arrived from a hike up Cradle Mountain. The house was so big and well-equipped that it was perfect for recovering. We made pancakes in the enormous kitchen and then watched a movie in the living room. Because there were so many rooms, even the most tired among us could have our own room for some private time. The next day, we all felt super energetic again. The house was also incredibly cozy with a beautiful view of the mountain. We opened the curtains in the morning and looked out onto a meadow with animals and, beyond that, the mountain. It really had a vibe. Maybe not check out at 10 but one hour later. It is quite early.
- Nikiah (10/5): -
- Harriet Wen Ting (9/5): Beautiful, peaceful, natural - not too far from Cradle Mountain and Sheffield. - Beautiful location with a stunning view of Mt. Roland! Not too far from Cradle Mountain and Sheffield. Nice, peaceful place and great value for money. Staff were great at making sure we had everything we needed. Lots of wallabies in the area! Some of the facilities were a little bit old, but they still functioned very well and did not deter us from our stay.
- Pamela (6/5): Enjoyable and spacious but very outdated, needs renovation - There was plenty of room, animals that visited were adorable Very outdated and old, tv was terrible reception most of the time
- Dieter (6/5): Passable Option für Cradle Mountain NP, schöne Aussicht - Ruhige Lage, Weidetiere und kleinere wilde Tiere vor der Haustür. Schöne Aussicht auf den Mt. Roland. Cradle Mountain NP in 45 Autominuten erreichbar.
- George (9/5): -
- Darlene (6/5): - We found it very peacefull and quiet just what we wanted but we probably too fussy beds where a bit hard and loung and chairs not real comfy but all in all we relaxed and thats what we wanted thanks
- max (8/5): -
- Rochelle (9/5): Unique , comfortable old fashioned and the view was absolutely amazing. - Location was amazing
Very unique A little run down but didn’t affect the quality of our stay
- Margarita (7/5): Great, quirky property, family friendly! - Rustic and different! Our cabin was large, had well equipped kitchen and the heater. It was located on the second floor adjacent to the 'games room'. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and rainy so we didn't get to explore the grounds but kids loved meeting donkeys and the horse. There was a great little tree house and swing for kids to explore too. The games room was equipped with old gym equipment. Some of it worked, some didn't. I suppose it was the appeal to keep the room 'old school charm' way! There were gaming computers, library of movies and pool table. The location was awesome - perfect to explore the maze. I could recommend to offer a complementary ground coffee for the coffee machine and remove old gym equipment out of the games room. Some signs on the spa/sauna still refer to Covid - could be removed. Our room was a bit dusty but I was assured by the owner that cleaners do a great job with cleaning.
- Napasorn (10/5): -
- Emily (7/5): Beautiful location and views, poorly maintained. - The views over Roland mountain were beautiful. Peaceful Location. Great to have kitchen facilities and washing machine/dryer.
Great location in between Sheffield and Cradle Mountain. It was very run down and required lots of maintenance in the grounds. Unable to use the bikes, balls, soccer, cricket pitch, spa etc. Facilities inside the accomodation was dated and not maintained. The mattress on the sofa bed was very thin and old. There was a funny smell in The Loft accomodation- like cat pee.
- Maria (8/5): Honey with a touch of farm life. Does need some TLC to bring it up to date. - We loved the farm animals & space in the house. There was 3 of us staying, but only given 2 towels. The towels were stained, ripped & tatty. The premises are looking tired . It needs a fresh lick of paint & update of decor. We were there just to sleep & it met our needs.
- Peta (9/5): Friendly, clean and comfortable. - The donkeys, horse and cows in the paddock next door, and the free range hens. All the Zen heads.
- Belinda (8/5): Great cosy and warm great place for kids with games room - A great location and warm and cosy. Seeing the highland cows was amazing, then donkeys ducks and chickens. Great games room for kids. It was a bit rundown the veranda needed work. The spa wasn’t working
- Grigory (10/5): - Beautiful place
- Phoebe (6/5): A pleasant stay in the countryside. - We loved the countryside aspect, it was so quiet and secluded which made a lovely getaway. We also loved connecting with nature & animals that are on the property. The house was spacious which was lovely for 2 people. It was also super warm and cosy, which was great after a wet day on cradle mountain. We found the interior itself quite tired and run down. Although it was clean many items seemed way past their best! For instance the curtains. The bed was very uncomfortable with what seemed to be a dip or broken slats/ springs one side. The light in the bathroom also didn’t work.
- Do Young (10/5): -
- Kosuke (10/5): - Nice and quiet, fantastic view!
- Jaymes25 (10/5): Great escape for the family - Almost everything, the serenity, the animals, the house, it was overall a wonderful stay. I loved being out away from everything The broken toys/bikes, we would have loved a good decked out games room and the spa not working was a bit of a let down.
