• Dalia (1/5): - The beds and restroom was clean. Had good breakfast. But it did smell like dust since I have allergies I could clearly smell the dust. The bathroom door would not close unless we slammed it shut or pushed it extremely hard, which was inconvenient and unsafe. On the second day, there was no water at all. When I asked at the front desk, they informed me the hotel had turned it off due to construction. Had I known this beforehand, I would not have booked here. The water was off for half of the day, and I was traveling with my children, who could not use the bathroom. We had to leave the hotel just to find a place to use the restroom. When we returned in the evening, there was no hot water, which was another surprise. We asked again, and they simply apologized. I cannot shower my toddler in cold water, and after a long day, my family also needed a proper shower. Some people may tolerate that, but we do not. It was extremely inconvenient and upsetting, and we couldn’t pick up and change hotels at 10 p.m. with tired children. Additionally, the A/C unit had a musty smell and did not cool the room properly. The room stayed warm livable, but far from what we expected. Overall, this stay was disappointing, and we do not recommend this hotel.

Everyone greeted me when I walked by ask if I was doing ok or how is my day. Very attentive employees every one I encountered had a smile. Will be returning to this location in the future.

They never showed us the address of the hotel for us to look it until AFTER we’d booked the hotel. So after we booked and got the confirmation email the address ended up not being where the search said it was. So we tried to cancel via Expedia. They contacted the hotel and the hotel refused to cancel. Even though the reservation was only made less than 10 minutes prior and under false location!! So we attempted to dispute with the CC company too. This hotel is garbage for not canceling the reservation without charging. For something that was not our fault.

• Grimm (1/5): Never again have I been so disrespected by a hotel property after they tried to steal $179!! - When we left the property. Parking was great.... That's about it. the general manager was rude and disrespectful. He treated the staff at the front terribly in front of guests and we got the impression that this was typical from him as they seemed scared of him. Terrible dynamic and he was so rude to us as well. Initially when we got there, the AC wasn't working. They switched our room, and the new room had bugs but we just coped with it and cleaned it ourselves. The employee had 'checked us in' at 1:30 AM, when we were at home in Austin, in bed so it was impossible. We asked for proof we were there, and no one could provide anything except a check in log. Apparently an employee had made a mistake. There was no way we could have checked in at that time. The manager made the argument that we were there and then it was that we weren't there but we wasted a night we paid for so we needed to pay for a 3rd night ($179+ tax) We called and got our 3rd party involved and then they adjusted our stay dates but only after we threatened to file a formal complaint and spent 3 hours trying to sort this issue out. The employee tried explaining this to him over the phone in our presence and we could hear the insults and manner he spoke to them, abhorrent. Never will stay at this property again. The manager spoke to us as if we were dumb and didn't understand him, but we did and we tried explaining there was an error somewhere, all to no avail. He was right and failed to acknowledge that there was a mistake made on their part and chose this as the hill to die on. Absolutely rude and zero empathy to see things from another perspective. I feel bad for not only his employees but his wife as well because this felt misogynistic as my husband wasn't treated the same by him in person or over the phone. Not sure how this man became in charge of the property, but we aren't ever returning here to find out.
• Gordon (8/5): Very good - I scheduled a reservation online on 08/14 with the date of 08/17 arrival. This was for business, I had a crew of 3 that would be staying the night. When they arrived, the hotel did not have my reservation. Fortunately they were able to get a room for the night. This hasn't ever happened before, and not sure where the disconnect happened, but cannot afford for our crew to not have a place to spend the night.
• tjeffery04 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - This has been the worst IHG hotel I have stayed at. I stayed July 2023. 1. The first room they checked me into smelled horrible… it smelled like really bad mildew. So I went to the front desk and they luckily had one more room and it was next door. Unfortunately it also smelled like mildew but definitely not as bad. 2. Both rooms had damage and scratches to all the cabinets. Broken handle on one and the mirror closet door will not stay shut. The cleaning service just puts a room trash can in front of it to keep it closed. 3. Both rooms I found had broken desk chairs, which is no bueno cause I often work on my computer in the mornings and evenings. 4.. The 2nd room the toilet paper holder was broken. I guess I should just be thankful I had toilet paper. 5. The shower head looks like it has not been cleaned in ages. Also the first night after a long day of work I was ready for a shower and I took a freezing shower. Maybe because it’s 1000 degrees here they thought they could by with freezing showers. 6. Breakfast: the juice dispenser was broken. For coffee they only had one option. I know that sounds picky but all the other IHG offer regular and decaf. I love coffee but recently had to give up caffeine, so I switched to decaf. This may be also picky but they offer toast that will not fit all the way in the toaster. I just went to the gas station instead. Will never stay here again.
• LaMonica (4/5): Disappointing to say the least - I was very disappointed with the condition of this property. It has not been taken care of and needs a complete renovation. This is not s good representation of the Holiday inn brand. Unfortunately I would never stay here again .

When I arrived at the hotel, we were given a tub - still an accessible room, but not what I needed. The front desk said they had no available "shower" rooms. Very frustrating indeed.

• michael (4/5): - When we arrived there were really young kids running around the outside area near check in. They belonged to the front desk clerk. We get in the room and there is zero ventilation in the room so everything felt wet. Sheets, counter tops, towels etc. while taking a shower, the tub held water and so we had to stand in the water. TV didn’t work and so we asked to change rooms but instead of the double beds like we paid for, we had to move to a single. After moving rooms, the room again had the wet feeling. The sheets had some debris over them, TV didn’t work and the counters were dirty. The following day we move back to the double bed and the entry door looked like someone had previously broke into them. The room still felt wet, counters were dirty, and everything was just as the other rooms except the TV actually worked this time. Every hotel clerk ignored or seemed like it was a bother to actually have to work. It was like being at a Motel 6. Definitely will not be back.

• 375joelr (2/5): DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL: undergoing "renovations" for MOLD problems. - The following email was sent to the General Manager of the hotel: I have been a member of the IHG Reward Club for over 15 years, and have stayed at HIE hotels innumerable times, and know what to expect. For the past month, I have had temporary employment in Karnes County, for two days per week, and have stayed two nights per week at your hotel in Kenedy Tx, which I find way below Holiday Inn standards. I have numerous grievances: 1. The furniture in your rooms is all scratched and scuffed. The desk chairs in almost every room do not function properly. The heating function of the A/C units is poor. 2. A lot of the towels and washcloths in the rooms I have stayed in are frayed and have holes in them. One “white” washcloth was actually “grey” in color. There have been a couple of occasions when I found dust and dirt on the tops of the furniture at check-in. 3. When I checked into the hotel last week, I was told that there were only “handicap” rooms left because there were “renovations” going on. I was a little surprised that so many of the rooms were being “renovated” at one time but felt that it was management’s decision. 4. This week I was supposed to check in Saturday evening [December 18th]. I was traveling from Alabama and got stuck in severe thunderstorms. I decided to “crash” at a friend’s place near the East Texas border and wait out the rest of the thunderstorms. I phoned the hotel at 7:24 PM and spoke with Norma. I told her that I was delayed and probably not arrive at the hotel until the early morning hours on Sunday. I requested that my reservation not be cancelled, and she promised to tell the “night” front desk staff. I arrived at the hotel at approximately 5:30 AM on Sunday, and found that the reservation was cancelled, and that there were no rooms available. The front desk staff tried to reach you at the time, but you did not answer your phone. She could see that I was becoming upset; I told her that I needed a place to shower and change before starting work. She then asked one of the “renovation” workers if there was a room that they were not “working on” and was finally able to “check in” to handicap room # 113. I spoke with one of the “workers” and found out that the “renovations” were being undertaken because of mold problems. I was flabbergasted that, with your knowledge of the mold issues for over one week, that no one ever contacted me to give me the option to cancel the past two reservations but would put me at further health risk.

• Katrina (4/5): Not a great stay - I arrived 1hr before check in and was greeted by a not-so-friendly clerk saying they would have no rooms available until 3pm (which i found hard to believe since every other hotel has allowed that so close to check in time). All the rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The 1st room they put us in was so humid and musty I was very uncomfortable. Water beads were gathering on the ceiling in the bathroom. Also outside door handle was hanging as if partly broken. The staff was accommodating and moved us to the room next door since we were told maintenence was not available for 3 more days. That 2nd room smelled better, and the a/c temperature worked, but was still very humid. So much so that all the metal fixtures were rusted out and my clothes stayed damp and skin clammy as I slept. The ceiling above the shower had mildew rings on it. The wall had paint peeling in places. The water never got hot until our 3rd and final day in that 2nd room (was working fine in the 1st). The mattress was comfortable enough and while i like that they offer a soft and firm option for pillows, they weren't the most comfortable. I wiped down the remote control amd the wipe was black when i was done. It appears they never clean that particular item even though rest of the room was clean. Overall will not stay here again.

• Amanda (8/5): Second room was great! - Service was great. Although, when we checked in, very late, the first room we were given had not been cleaned thoroughly. There was a used bar of soap on the bathtub as well as half used shampoo bottles and hair. The key card from the former guest was sitting on the nightstand even. The woman at the front desk got us switched to another room that was in great condition.

• R3815IVchriso (4/5): From good to terrible!! - I’m a spire elite member and I always choose this hotel when in the area. This time, everything seems to be so out of whack! First my restroom vent doesn’t work and the AC doesn’t seem to be cooling at all even at 69. Then the movie channels don’t work which ok, annoying but oh well. Then I decide to order food in for delivery and decide I want ice for my drink. The ice maker does not have ice and the plug for the water to fill the ice maker is hanging and not plugged in. Im going to check out in the morning and choose a different hotel for my two week stay in Kenedy. It’s a shame because I’ve enjoyed this hotel for the last 8 years working with my company.
• KarenG98 (2/5): Terrible stench in room - Our room had a plug-in scent when we arrived and we pulled it because the chemicals make me sick. The next day I understood why - the stench it covered was much worse. Smelled like sour carpet. We chose to plug the scent back in - I don’t believe we’ll stay here again.

Do yourself a fiver and keep driving to the newer hotels in town
• 275mmh (10/5): Great place to stay - This hotel is a nice place to stay at: great friendly staff, the rooms are always clean and ready too go for us. Breakfast is always ready on time which makes it convenient for us all. In the evenings it is nice and quiet makes it easy to relax.

They have great coffee and selection of breakfast in the morning. I stayed from Sept 15 until Sept 30 and had to transfer to a Marriott in Victoria and it made me miss this hotel for sure. I would definitely recommend this place!!!!
• Monica (10/5): Perfect for family! - We arrived to a pleasant front desk clerk and our room was perfect. It was great to not have any problems!! The room was comfy,clean and quiet. The room was a nice size and we loved it!

• 1146finbarm (8/5): Decent place - I was placed on the first floor in a room typically reserved for physically challenged persons. I did not like it. There wasn't anything wrong with the room. I just didn't like it. The bathroom is configured for accommodating a wheel chair, which is fine. It didn't appeal to me. I wasn't happy with my stay.
• JeffC695 (6/5): An Average Holiday Inn Express - I just finished a stay here and was not overly impressed. The grounds were well maintained and the lobby/breakfast area were clean and welcoming. The room upon check-in was clean and up to normal standards. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C was working great. The following day after spending a long hard day I returned to room that had not been cleaned by housekeeping. I'm not a snob that needs my bed made daily but after a long day clean towels and soap would have been appreciated. After a call to the front desk I was informed I could come down and get fresh towels as housekeeping had left for the day. Then the following day, Friday, the elevator was out of service. We were informed that the elevator would not be fixed until Monday. Great for people on the first floor but being on the third floor with work bags to carry up and down I was not overly impressed. Being a loyal Holiday Inn Rewards Club Member I figured due to the inconvenience I would have been offered a discount or other amenities for the lack of services provided but I guess a written notice on the elevator was the only apology I was to receive. Upon checkout the 2 front desk clerks were very self absorbed. I realize it was a weekend and rather slow but at least show a small amount of interest in the customer. Others have posted more positive reviews but I just wanted to share my current experience as a Spire Elite Member.
• richardlC9961QD (10/5): The Best Keep Getting Better - This is the first time that I've written a second review about a place I've stayed but the Holiday Inn Kenedy keeps improving - The hotel is still comfortable, the beds excellent, and the staff outstanding. It's location is near several very good restaurants and the fitness center is improving. Two things have demanded that I revisit this review. The first - egg white vegetable omelets at breakfast - Heather the manager keeps making things better for her cliental at every opportunity. This combined with the turkey sausage makes for the first truly low fat healthy breakfast in 15 years of travel. The second is functioning office chairs at the room desk - as an individual who spends half his day on his computer this is a back/wrist/neck saving necessity. Can't wait to go back.
• kansas_traveler38815 (8/5): A Good Night Sleep - The bed was comfortable, there was a plastic sleeve over the mattress that bothered me initially, but over time I became use to it. The breakfast was good, they had a pancake machine, I was not a fan of the southern packaged egg omelettes that were filled with "stuff". If I am ever in that part of Texas again, I will stay here again.
• corpuschristis (8/5): Best in the Area - It's new and clean, and the only place I'll stay if I'm in that area. Nice staff too, they were very accommodating to our needs as a work crew. We were working in Falls City, about 30 minutes north of the hotel, up 181. We had 4 man crew in 2 separate rooms. As tired as we were, the drive down to this hotel was worth it, there's nothing better in that area.
• ktate73 (10/5): Wonderful experience! - What a great experience staying here! Hotel was very clean & staff was super nice. We were a large group & they treated us like family. Upon our arrival, we had a lovely welcome letter. I wish more hotels had this personal touch. Loved this hotel!
• Ana (8/5): Will stay again - Staff where very friendly and accommodating.. The first room we got was a little small but had to change rooms and was much better.
• Brandy (2/5): Nasty - The front desk was rude , the rooms were moist , everything was sweating , the beds were even moist . It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in
• Tamara (6/5): 3 Day Stay - My husband and I were there for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. Housekeeping "forgot" to clean our room 1 day, but overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The mattress was too hard for for our liking. (backaches in the morning). Friendly front desk staff, keurig makers in the room, and decent breakfast each morning.
• Sean (10/5): - There for work. Price was good, HIE great as always. A free beer before bed didn't hurt
