Guest Reviews
- Kimm (6/5): Average - The room was clean and staff friendly passage was dirty and the man opposite us was extremely selfish and loud at 11:30pm
- Stefany (2/5): Nice staff, disorganized and the place needs some love. - The people were really nice but not very organized. We had to deal with maintenance issues for 30 min. They moved us to a different room. 11:30pm someone else tried to get into our room. They had rented it to them as well. No cable tv. They do t pay for that package. Only get QVC, religious channels and kids channels.
- Templer (6/5): -
- Mavis (9/5): - Because of the wind storm, internet was down ,no TV. Staff came to our room and reset Direct TV.
- Robert (5/5): Certainly adequate for a 12 hour stay, and good value. - The location was very good. And the price was good. The fit and finish are very aged. And the grounds around the facility look neglected. Pigeons are roosting in the soffits at the right end of the building.
- Thiessen (3/5): - Bathroom was dirty, shelves were dusty, The bed was washed but lack of customers was visible since there was dust on the bed covers. Hallway was exceptionally nasty, stains on walls and floors were really dirty
- Michael (3/5): Need to make improvements to their housekeeping, unless you don't care to have repeat customers. - Location Cleanliness was the biggest factor of my disappointment. bathroom hadn't been cleaned in some time.... which makes you wonder about everything else.
- Chad (1/5): -
- William (10/5): - Everything was great the breakfast was nice the room was clean and comfortable I would definitely stay again
- Rhonda (2/5): Frustrated currently as they charged me twice. - Close to highway. A little unkept.
- Wyatt (1/5): -
- James (1/5): - Nothing. Di.d not stay. Even with reservation# had no record. Still waiting for refund
- Cynthia (4/5): -
- Roy (6/5): -
- Elizabeth (3/5): - I thought I was supposed to have 2 Queen beds ! The ceiling light was flickering when we walked in so my son had to take it out! It was just not what I thought it would be.
- Flor (10/5): -
- BART (4/5): No shower , no shave no water to wash - Close to highway No water for a shower or to even use the bathroom
- Terri (1/5): nothing. we cancelled our reservation within the free cancellation window and received confirmation from Booking that is - nothing. we cancelled our reservation within the free cancellation window and received confirmation from Booking that is was cancelled free of charge but OYO processed the room charge a. day early and will not refund the charge despite several phone calls and emails they do not adhere to their own cancellation policy and as of now do not respond
- Erzsebet (6/5): -
- Martin (7/5): -
- Kimie (10/5): - Continental breakfast and coffee. It's was great to wake up not having to go find something to eat for breakfast
- Jim (8/5): -
- Mavis (10/5): - On the highway. And accept dogs.
- Alice (2/5): Thoughtless - Roadside emergency so could not check in. They don’t care.
Not bad enough to have a catastrophe, they still charge.
Will never book with any OYO again.
- Heather (8/5): - They were extra considerate and reached out to us when I had accidentally only booked one night and helped me fix it so we could stay two nights
- Elwyn (6/5): - Noise
- Margaret (6/5): - Definitely pet friendly and we really appreciated that. Quiet even though it is next to the railroad and highway. AC worked good, room was clean except for the floor which left my feet black after just one evening. Property seems run down. Breakfast offered was not worth the anticipation: my yogurt cup was bad and the mini muffins were stale. Coffee was the best thing about it. .The price was as high as other properties in the area, so if you are doing a price comparison, go with the other property.
- William (8/5): -
- Catherine (5/5): - Rien ... Isolé, chambres qui sentent mauvais , odeur des draps bof , environnement triste , aspirateur devant la chambre a 8h30 du matin ,bref cest vraiment pas terrible .
- Janice (2/5): - In the lobby there were 2-3 men stilling along a wall watching us walk in. Another man checked us in. I was a little uncomfortable then. After we receive the keys, we walked down the hall to our room. There was another gentleman leaning against the wall with maybe a shampooer. He didn’t seem to move from that spot as we made maybe three trips to the car and back. I was so uncomfortable that I was ready to forfeit the money we had spent on the room and go somewhere else. I would have done that, but we were traveling with another couple and I thought safety in numbers. The room seemed clean enough until I spilled some water on the lfloor. Not having any thing else to wipe the water up I used the bath mat. The bath mat was black after wiping up the water. Obviously the floor needed a good cleaning. I don’t typically write unfavorable reviews or feel unsafe. We just got home from a 31 day trip and so I’ve had a lot of rooms to compare this to.
- Mary jo (6/5): - Once in the room, I felt ok about the stay, but right across from RR tracks which appeared a bit run down and dirty. VERY noisey all night! Lobby and hallways not as clean as I would like. Cannot recommend.
- Jessica (10/5): - I arrived very late to my check in...the night staff contacted me to make sure I would still be arriving and was so polite and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again
- Paul (6/5): - Room clean but short on furniture.

- 1989 (5/5): - It is adequate for an overnight stay. I was in the US in 2016, and it seems to me that this hotel has not been renovated since then.
- Wendy (5/5): -
- Stephanie (6/5): -
- David (6/5): - Clean room, really sketchy area. Very limited food
- Gregory (8/5): - Clean simple room
- kevin (10/5): - Bbb
- julie (6/5): - Clean room comfortable bed
- Gregory (6/5): - The front desk receptionist was friendly enough.
We left for a while and came back in and 3 staff members just stared at us. It was not unfriendly but it was sure not midwest friendly. Kind of creepy.
- Jackie (10/5): Staff was very nice, good location and comfortable - Comfortable and clean Nothing I can think of
- Brenda (6/5): -
- Nicole (6/5): - First room, toilet didn’t flush.
Second room tv needed staff to reset to work, also one previous guests towel still on bathroom door.
Breakfast was good.
- Joel (5/5): - The breakfast selection was a typical one with no hot food items. The room we stayed in was dirty and the bed was uncomfortable.
- Jeff (4/5): Budget friendly; convenient rest stop. - Budget friendly; it was a convenient rest stop on our trip. Needs some updating and refurbishing.
- Brenda (7/5): The place was quiet and the staff friendly and glad to help with more towels. - The staff was very friendly and helpful. it is an old building with need of repair.
- Erika N (4/5): - TV didn’t work & the room did not smell fresh.
It was a place to sleep, just peel off the comforter first.
- Angeli (5/5): -
- Kate (9/5): Rooms are very nice - It's renovated and rooms have orange walls, all stylish and even fancy (for a budget place). Rooms look new and above the price we paid for it. lot's of space, sitting area, TV. We got a room on the first floor (important for us due to child's disability) with no problems. Laundry and ice machine work great. Breakfast came out as a surprise (I don't think this information is reflected here). It's basic but included in the price. Coffee and boiled water are available all the time. No carpeting on the floors. But it's important for us more than for others due to disabled child.
- Melody (6/5): -
- Arlys (10/5): - Accessible from Highway 2. Close enough to get to doctor's appointment in Kalispell.
- john (7/5): - Location and price Continental breakfast started at 7:00
- Chris (9/5): For what you pay it is a good place to stay. - no breakfast The sound proofing of the rooms isn't great. Squeaky bathroom door. TV is useless for stations. Most not working.
- Nanette (8/5): We have stayed at the oYO before and it was ok, but this time was great. It was cleaner, the staff were friendly and the -
- Ionut (1/5): -
- Tawna (1/5): - They gave us a room, then gave someone else my room. They tried opening the door, luckily I had the dead bolt locked. So good job on double booking the same room to two different people.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room had no hot water for my shower or the night before. Staff didn't seem to care.
- Dusti (8/5): - Quite
- Alessandro (9/5): -
- Davis (1/5): -
- Lana (8/5): - Good service clean comfortable room
- Hanan (7/5): -
- Judy (10/5): Shelby Rest - Clean!! No carpet in our room!! For a quick overnight stay I'm glad we stayed. Refrigerator in room also. Steep stairs to second floor ( no elevator) but we requested a pet free room.
- Steven (8/5): - Room clean except that microwave dirty inside and freezer had carton of ice cream stuck inside. Comfortable and roomy but more expensive than similar hotels elsewhere, probably due to location and renovations. At first glance, room looked nicely updated, but there were several significant gaps between the flooring planks. I'd still stay here again.
- Kris Norille (2/5): - We travel from alberta Canada to Oyo hotel yesterday Aug 9,2025 and no one in the front desk to answer there phone and we have to wait 15 mins in the front before someone to come in the front desk .
- Lori (5/5): -
- Susan (4/5): - The desk clerk was friendly, but that’s the only good thing I can really say about this place. It just looks like no one cares.
- Thomas (5/5): -
- Kathie (8/5): - It was an older hotel. But was clean.
- Neil (7/5): -
- Thomas (6/5): Serviceable-Barely - The motel is dated! The staff was working diligently to clean and update the rooms, but have a long way to go. They were friendly ands accommodating. The bat tub in our room was filthy, I wouldn’t bathe a dog in it without scrubbing it. The hotel is located directly across the street from a very busy commercial train depot with trains coming and going 24/7. The good news is, they didn’t use their horns at all. Shelby, at least this part is a typical western town, kinda old and run down. Over all I’d give this a 3.5 outta 5, mostly for the price. It’s a serviceable place to lay your head. But I’m retired army so I’m used to Spartan conditions, the wife-not so much!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Not happy that hotels.com changed the price right before i confirmed on line. Price went up $50 while i was confirming reservation.
- Brenda (6/5): - The beds are okay rooms were clean good for overnight stops. Breakfast was simple but did the job. Toast, cereal, fruit and muffins. Coffee and tea.
- Cj (7/5): You get what you pay for front staff are great - Clean
Close to highway
Close to gas station Pillows
- Qi (9/5): Great - The room is spacious and clean. Has everything I need. Nothing.
- Mary (6/5): Wouldn’t stay here - It’s a very dated hotel. The towels were like sandpaper. The freezer in the fridge was caked with ice and dirty.
- Corinna (8/5): - Very basic room. Bed was comfy. TV didn't work. It was clean and perfect for a place to sleep. The staff was very friendly.
- Kay (7/5): Ok for a one night stopover - Convenient Needs updating!
- Mark (10/5): - Very friendly front staff =)
- Wendy (7/5): Perfectly nice place to stay in a pinch. - Place was clean and had the basics covered. Staff was friendly and helpful, even seemed to have some pride in their home (Shelby). After my visit I needed to contact the facility about something I may have left in the room but it was impossible to reach them via phone. All of the numbers go to an automated system, and when I finally reached a person, they told me the number was incorrect and that they'd have someone call me back. No one ever did. Seems strange that you can't contact the hotel at all.
- Stanley (10/5): - Upgraded property, well done
- Jason (10/5): -
- Linda (6/5): - This is an older hotel. Property was clean, but in need of cosmetic repairs
- Allen (6/5): - It was ok
- Nancy (8/5): -
- Z. M. (8/5): -
- Prashant (7/5): - Clean rooms Creaky floors and bathroom doors which made sound disturbing others in the room.
- Andrew (6/5): - Needs work
- Melody (6/5): Overall it was good. - Shower Bed, coffee maker in room.
- Mildred (6/5): - Beds were ok. Lucky to find availability in this area (near east glacier about an1 hr away) since our other reservation failed. All food places close early, if they opened at all. If u aren't here by 8 the only option is the gas station.
- Deepankar (10/5): - Very well managed property;
Rooms were clean and great hospitality
a bit far from the east side entrance for glacier national park; but probably one of the better locations to stay on the eastern side of the park
- Alvin Gene (6/5): - This was the most basic room I have ever had with Hotels.com. It was clean but had very few amenities
- Dawn (10/5): - Easy to get to convenience to gas station & restaurants
- Daronda (10/5): - It is an older property but room completely updated. Clean, fresh. We came back for a second night.Hot Shower. Very Quiet. Great Staff. Friendly.
