Guest Reviews
- Lesley (10/5): - Thank you very much it was amazing in always. Just was confused thought it was a 4 bedroom house. Was shocked it was a 3 bedroom. So is the 5 bedroom one only a 4 bedroom one. Just for future reference thank you. Nothing all good.
- Danielle (9/5): - Very roomy living area. Well equipped kitchen though one powerpoint was not working (minor point). You would need to drive to a restaurant so easier if you come with your own food.
- Kaylene (10/5): The best accommodation we have stayed at in Tasmania. - Beautifully presented . Gorgeous views of the garden. Warm and cosy feel. Nothing
- Leah (10/5): -
- Kerry (9/5): A very comfortable nights stay in one of the three bedroom cottages. A kookaburra was a constant visitor to the back ga - We were in a three bedroom cottage for one night, it was very comfortable and cosy.
On our arrival the cottage was set up beautifully with lamps and aircon on. There were no cutting boards or platters.
Thankfully we didn’t need to use the gas heater. There is a warning about using the heater as you could be without hot water if the gas runs out
- Heather (10/5): -
- George (10/5): I have never stayed in a place so beautiful! There are no words to describe how lovely it was! - I absolutely adored this gorgeous cottage. I was in love with it as soon as we arrived. It was so beautifully decorated, I dont think it could have looked more perfect. It was exceptionally clean and very very spacious! It was my favourite place to stay on my Tasmanian trip and i have recomended it to my family who are planning a tasmanian trip also. It had everything we needed plus more. We saw a possum in the back yard at night which delighted my daughter and I. The gardens were so beautiful and i especially loved the apple tree and all the lavender such a country setting, making for a relaxing stay.I loved the place so much and wished I could just move in! Absolutely perfect, I loved everything
- virginia (9/5): Very pleasant stay in a quiet village. - The villa was very comfortable and pleasant to stay in. It was quiet and warm, and a good location. Kitchen facilities were adequate for our group and our food preparation. There was easy parking and access to the unit. Instructions on accessing were sent in good time and were easy to follow.
- Clinderinie (10/5): The stay is memorable and good value - Spotless & spacious rooms, comfortable bedding, and functional, well-designed spaces. Great, well-maintained facilities that make the stay memorable. Highly recommended. Nothing
- kate (8/5): -
- Susanne (9/5): A very spacious and clean property. -
- Miriam (10/5): Comfortable heritage accommodation in peaceful setting. - Beautifully renovated colonial building, quiet setting with garden outlook, well appointed, comfortable beds, generous size, clean, and reasonably priced. Check-in time was stated as 5pm which might be late for some guests. However it suited us as we travelled from an evening event in Launceston and could check ourselves in. Moreover, our check out time was 11am, which was perfect for a lazy morning start.
- David (9/5): -
- Ran (10/5): - Beautifully renovated and kept old charm. Friendly and proactive management and staff.
- Middleton (8/5): - Comfortable with a cosy feel to the property. Distance to Launceston. We weren't with a walking tour and we had to commute in and out, as the restaurant was not available to us. We also couldn't locate the laundry facilities.
- Jenny (9/5): -
- Alanna (10/5): Fabulous. Will stay here again!! - It was very clean, spacious and comfy and had everything we needed. So welcoming to arrive to heaters and lights on. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. Nothing
- Benjamin (8/5): -
- Kelly (9/5): - Beautiful property. About 15 minutes drive from Cataract Gorge. There is a small supermarket within walking distance. Lovely and quiet and a great place to unwind. There were plastic bottles in the cupboard under the sink which were from the previous guests that hadn't been removed to the recycling. There was a used face washer in the bathroom mirror cabinet. The oven had a lot of grease and was hard to work out how to use as the symbols had kind of worn off around the knobs. I think perhaps the cleaner before we arrived wasn't as on the ball as they possibly should have been. Other than that the property was lovely and I would stay again.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Gorgeous property, best beds and decor. Home away from home. - Beautiful cottage and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Beautifully decorated and the beds were amazing! Bathrooms and kitchen were all beautiful and the garden and back verandah were just perfect. A home away from home (but a bit nicer!) If I was going to be really picky, I'd suggest they had a few extra items for guests like kitchen paper towels (I always find them useful) and a few more kitchen basics (salt, pepper, etc)

- Jia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage, interior styling was a mixture of modern and rustic. Very relaxing stay. Wish we had more time in Tassie just so we could stay longer. The lock on the door leading to the verandah wasn’t working, and wifi wasn’t working either.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Enjoyable stay, lovely accommodation. - Beautiful property, very comfortable. The bathroom sinks were too small.
- Jane (9/5): It surpassed our expectations, so much so that we didn't go out anywhere- we just wanted to enjoy it - Pearce's cottage looked tiny from the outside but inside ...it kept on going. We were so thrilled and loved the layout and the beautiful, enclosed garden & deck. Also, all the small touches. We could only get channels ABC & SBS working on the TV - would have liked to watch mainstream TV during the evening,

Beautiful furnishings, nice comfy beds and everything you need in the bathroom! Only wish we had more time here🥰 Because we running late the host was very good with commutation, phone call, messages and even a video showing us how to find our cottage,so very friendly and helpfull.Would definitely recommend to family and friends.Next time I'm back in Tasmania The Red Feather Inn will most Definitely be my choices to stay, just loved it

- patm613 (10/5): Glorious Getaway - We had the most enchanting stay at The Red Feather Inn in the Loft Apartment, nestled in the peaceful countryside just outside Launceston. The charm of this old-world accommodation truly took our breath away. The downstairs bathroom was luxurious, with a lavish bath that made relaxation a dream. Upstairs, the cozy bedroom and adorable dining area added to the charm, and we loved waking up to a delightful continental breakfast.
To make the experience even more memorable, we were served a delicious three-course meal by the friendliest chef you could hope to meet. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the panna cotta was to die for—absolutely a must-try! Every detail was thoughtful and elegant, making it the perfect countryside retreat. We can’t wait to return to this gem!

- Peter (9/5): Superb - Spacious, comfortable, good location, beautiful outdoor area, lovely dinner. Access to property wasn't clear...
- Maggie (10/5): Such a beautiful home - Such a cute place! Stunning garden and beautifully decorated. Comfortable and cosy stay. Bathtub was so nice also. The fireplace heater was really noisy, and it’s a bit further from things than what we expected.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- carolynbN1627KG (10/5): Exceptional stay at the Red Feathers Inn - We stayed in "The Loft" at the Red Feathers Inn. The accommodation was beautiful with everything you would expect to find. It was spotlessly clean and decorated in the delightful French provincial style, warm and inviting. Breakfast was included with yoghurt, berries and toast.
We dined in the Red Feathers restaurant. The three course meal was exceptional. One of the best meals we have ever had anywhere. The chef served us. His warmth and friendly manner added to our experience.
Thank you to everyone at the Red Feathers Inn.

- Janine (8/5): We enjoyed our stay it was relaxing and we will be back next year. Best hotel beds I have slept in. - Breakfast was great. The meal could have been better. Unfortunately it was not as good as last year.
- Warren (10/5): Such a pleasure to appreciate the historical nature of the property and attention to detail for such a comfortable stay. - Presentation absolutely top notch.
- Rhonda (10/5): Absolutely delightful place to stay. - Red Feather Inn is just gorgeous in every way. The decor and comfort of the garden suite was just delightful. No detail was missed. Breakfast was delicious. The gardens at the Inn are just beautiful. A shame we didn't stay longer. Everything was perfect.
- Angela (10/5): Quite cozy - It was jyat beautiful Peaceful
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Kylie (10/5): Garden Suite - Historical accommodation with a French feel. Amazing opportunity to have the chance to stay at a convict built site. Staff were amazing and made sure our stay in the Garden Suite was perfect. Dinner in the restaurant was also exceptional.
- Wendy (4/5): Lovely building but not worth the price, needs a lot of work to bring it up to being a "fancy" inn! - The location was ok, it was only about 15 minutes from Launceston. We had our breakfast delivered to our room and it was pretty basic. Plain bread (not lovely, thick sour-dough or anything interesting!) some yoghurt, a bit of milk, some orange juice and some berries. Not an array of fruits to choose from. The main fireplace in the living room wasn't working which was really disappointing. The couch in the living room was a sofa bed and was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on in my life. It sagged terribly and the actual bed-frame dug into us. It was awful. The building is 182 years old, I get that, but the sound between the rooms was not cushioned at all. The dining room was next to our living room and I could hear, word for word, the conversations of the people in the dining room. I could also hear their cutlery scraping along their plates which was horrible! It seemed a bit over-priced for what it was.
- Fiona (8/5): We had the attic room, it was quirky - Staff were exceptional and the food was amazing The bed was quite hard
- Sue (8/5): A lovely, comfortable stay close to Launceston - Breakfast was lovely. Check in and check out was easy. Bonus late check out was good. Cottage was lovely and warm and the beds were comfy. We had no water when we woke up! I know it wasn't your fault as it was minus temperatures. Fortunately we had the late check out as the water didn't come on again until 10:30 so I had a quick shower and flushed the toilet and put the dishwasher on. No staff had come around to check we had drinking water or anything though. We did feel quite alone as I had no way to contact any staff on site. The check in was quick, but a lot of details were missed such as check out time and wifi password, offer to book for dinner etc. I had to chase down someone later. I got the impression a lot of this information was in a book that was missing from the cottage?? There was certainly no information book available anyway.
- 880hansig (10/5): Absolutely perfect - What a phenomenal experience at the red feather inn restaurant on a cold wintery night.
I had organised a surprise birthday dinner for my father and emailed ahead about some special preparations. The team at red feather inn exceeded all my expectations for the night. The setting was intimate and beautifully set up as if we were guests at a wedding. Everything was cooked to perfection and the table service was wonderful. Such a sweet, humble and kind team - A special mention to Han and the chef for our delicious three course experience, as well as Bella for personalising/organising a special candle celebration and table setting for my father. I would give 10 stars if I could and cannot wait to return. Thank you red feather inn for an experience we will never forget.

- Zalinah (9/5): Superb -
- Eleni (8/5): Very good -
- Saunders-barker (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - The history of the place, the themed rooms. Stayed in the Library Suite, which had a seperate seating area. Bed was comfy, bathroom was amazing. Loved the old sash window in the kitchen area. The complimentary breakfast supplied was excellent (although no butter was left for our toast) The internet was awful if you were travelling for work and needed it. We only used it for social networking, on asking about the internet we were told the walls to the Inn are so thick you can’t get a good signal.
- Debra (10/5): we loved staying at the red feather inn cottage, could not fault anything. - we arrived to a lovely warm and inviting home, everything that we needed and more was there, spacious accommodation, modern facilities, we loved staying here for a couple of nights, would certainly recommend friends to stay here. absolutely nothing.
- Prue (10/5): An excellent place to relax and unwind - The breakfast supplies were excellent. The spacious garden suite gave us room to spread out and really enjoy our stay.
- Helen (8/5): Very good - We were only there a very short time but overall the accommodation and facility was fabulous Nothing
