When I went to reception he just kept saying I’d booked a cheap room and only family rooms had city view. He did move me eventually. Although I saw them cleaning the room it felt dirty and was very dated. Much better hotels for same price.

PERFECT location in the heart of the old city area, the lake, the Cathedral. Near many restaurants including next door to a fantastic craft beer brewery. Neighborhood has character. On-site quick & cheap laundering. On-site activity bookings. On-site Manager “Lucy” is the best: she got me the best room, booked my local activities & taxi, made solid recommendations, and was extremely professional & friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Location is excellent and walking distance to everything in old town. It was a bit weird that every item in the room was lusted with a value in case you broke something but at least it was clear and upfront.

- jaV5248YT (4/5): Good location, friendly staff, but rooms need work. - Good location and friendly staff. We rented two rooms. Although the bedding had been changed, both rooms were in rough condition and haven’t been thoroughly cleaned for some time. One of our rooms happened to be the one featured on the hotel’s website. The pictures must have been taken 20 years ago or more. The furniture, walls, floors and fixtures have not been maintained since. It’s too bad as the location itself was good for the old quarter. We’ve stayed in simple but clean hotels in the old quarter in the past but this one needs some work.

For comfortability, there are better hotels around - brilliant location ... right in the heart of hanoi walking street and night market. Very central to the lake AC is old and not fully functional. I just needed below 23-25oC but the AC only operated at 27. Feel hot all the time. the sink is leaking as well. TV didnt work neither. They dont even have a spare socket to replace the one broken in my room. Standard Free amenities such as instant coffee even were not provided

- Malachy (8/5): - The property is in a great location, close to the old quarter and right next to St. Paul’s Cathedral. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we had a late night arrival. The was quite large had a nice view overlooking the street. It was somewhat noisy at night with motorbikes and cars passing by and the bathroom could benefit from a deep clean. The price was fair for what you get.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient hotel near the big church - This is my second stay at this hotel. Even though the room had a nice big window this time, the condition was quite run down with cracks on the floor and dusts on the chaise. I was told they were thinking about renovation for this room. The reception staff were lovely, the young lady changed the fridge for me as the one in my room was not working. The size of the room is comfortable as I booked for a bigger size room. The location was great as it was 5mins walk to Hoan Kiem lake and had lots of eateries nearby.

Ms. Lucy, an excellent staff member, provided helpful information. We also booked our Halong Bay tour through them, making the process hassle-free. I suggest they replace a new shower head.

The AC was super helpful and worked well too! Breakfast was not included however many places were near to eat. The hotel was located at a good spot.

Preface this with we book this place because it had good reviews and the photos looked good. We flew into Hanoi very late and it was too late to change hotels for the night. The photos did not represent the room we stayed in. The room was very dated, floors were severely worn and scratched. The furniture was beat up and very old as well. The mattress was not comfortable and the sheets and blankets had stains on them. We had to ask for new linen. The bathrooms was not nice either. The garbage can in the bathroom was not changed. Dirty toilet paper in garbage can - EWWW. Had the staff empty the garbage can too. There were ants crawling around the room as well. I think the photos on the listing are from a very long time ago. Lucky we stayed one night and then stayed overnight on a boat in Halong Bay and then changed to 22Land Residence down the street at 71 P. Hàng Bông on our return. It was a few dollars more and the rooms are up to date and came with a great breakfast.

Good sized rooms and location is good Like most hotels in hanoi the photos are not a true depiction but you get what you pay for. Maybe the star ratings are different in Vietnam to Australia. The room was weathered and the bathroom was okish - but all clean. The shower had absolutely no pressure.

Very disappointed with my visit as I expected it to be a lot better condition. The photos of the hotel did not capture this at all.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Did not even stay one night, very dirty rooms - I initially booked this room due to the good reviews on this website, and the pictures looked promising. However on arrival, there was quite a lot of issues that we encountered. We booked two rooms but initially only got one room and had to make the staff aware of this. The first room's door had a large gap in it and was difficult to lock. The bathroom had soap scum on the floors and in the shower, the toilet and surrounding floor was visibly dirty. The sheets on the bed had rips in them. The second room's bathroom was also quite dirty. There was hair on the bedroom and bathroom floors. There was also drops of blood on the floor next to the bed and bedside table. I am unsure if the rooms had been cleaned properly prior to our arrival. We were supposed to stay here for 6 nights but did not even stay for 3 hours due to feeling very uncomfortable with the living situation. We booked elsewhere and instantly felt more secure and comfortable. The benefit of this hotel is the location, as it is quite close to everything in the Old Quarter. The bedrooms are larger compared to other hotels also. If you are looking for convenience and a fairly priced hotel, and are not too concerned about the standard of cleanliness then I would recommend this for you. I however would not recommend staying here to my friends and family.

The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem lake. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The hotel staff, especially Lucy, was exceptional during our trip to Vietnam. She is a super helpful person. If you ask for something, she will arrange it in a blink. So, during the day, we had to switch on the light. But the good thing is that we were not in the room during the daytime, by the way. Other than that, all was okay.

- Kira (10/5): - This is a little gem of a hotel and in such a picturesque part of Hanoi near the cathedral and off a very charming street with lots of cute restaurants and shops as well as historic buildings and beautiful trees. Nearby is a convenience store and its easy to catch the bus from here to other parts of Vietnam as well as easy walking to the lake and all the amazing sights of Hanoi old quarter. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well maintained and the host was so extremely helpful to me. I was really happy i found this place and i already booked it for my return trip into the city

However the TV, hairdryer and room safe didn't work. Despite reporting this to reception, nothing was done about it. The lid was also broken off the kettle. The lovely wooden tissue dispenser had no tissues and the fridge was set to max meaning the bottles of water and cans of beer provided (for use at a cost) were all frozen solid. The bed was made and the towels changed daily however the level of cleanliness left something to be desired. The sink area clearly wasn't cleaned, the run off marks from my toothbrush were there all week and a quick peek behind the bathroom curtain revealed that area hadn't been cleaned in years. The floor wasn't clean either, my grey socks soon had black soles. It's a shame because these are issues that could easily be fixed.

- Pjmatthews (8/5): Very good - I prepared my own breakfasts as none was provided, but there is a good convenience store nearby opposite the cathedral, and many cafe and restaurant options. Refrigerator setting was too low, so hotel beer cans began making popping sound as the beer froze and expanded inside. The cans just bent outwards at each end. Extraordinary! The nearby laundry has a good service, but the clothes come back with super strong sweet scent that my wife objected to when I returned home. I was nagged by the distant noise of what sounded like a water pump going on and off continuously. This was noticeable at quiet times during the night. But it was not excessive and was no problem once I fell asleep. Best solution was active days and going to bed tired.
- Neil (9/5): Reasonable stay - We were on the top floor with a bit of a view. Room was nice. The quilt cover appeared not to be washed. It had a spot of something yellowish on the inside which was attached and came off. Was a bit off-putting. The mattress was springy, and the springs clunked when you moved around.
- June (8/5): Fantastic location! - Sure the room needed a little tlc but the excellent location and service more than make up for that! In fact there’s so much to see and do in the area that you’ll barely be in your room. Highly recommend!

The wify was terrible and cleaning not good either. I dealt with it cause I had no choice, then again it was ok cause I will leave at 7:00 and get home just to sleep. Would I stay here again is a big NO!!!

The property described a roof top and city view, however there’s no roof top, top floor is for residential area, not city view either. All of sudden, hot water didn’t work at all, when we came back from touring with lots of sweat, due to humid weather, minibar fridge wasn’t working either, I wsa expecting literally cold drinks when I arrived the hotel from whole day tour. The building is quite old, most of them are EOL. I’ve never seen that room door operates by old school key, not a card. And the hotel provides only 2 bath towels only, not any other towels, no housekeeping service, no cleaning the room, they just swapped the 2 bath towels only. Also, the hotel describes soundproof building, however, not at all, I could hear everything even from next door. I would not recommend this hotel.
