- Audrey (9/5): A delightful area & fantastic British pub. - Off the ‘main drag’ of the Cotswolds. Being able to check in at 3pm & not 4p
- Janet (9/5): Ideal for short stays - Comfortable room in a friendly place in a beautiful village. Nice continental breakfasts. Lovely walks in and around the village
Large terraced beer garden. Delicious food served in the pub. Ideal for short stays. We would stay here again. Shower head needs cleaning/replacing.
Only a few hooks to hang clothes on. Enough for a short stay only.

- Siobhan (8/5): Comfortable and accommodating at last minute. - Good location, friendly staff, food okay. Rooms a little small, lacking storage, and no fridge in room. Water pressure for taps and shower low, bed sheets ripped in places. Need a little tlc and attention to detail.

- wandering sheila (9/5): Quaint pub with accommodating, friendly staff - On our arrival we had a drink in the pub prior to then staying in and having dinner in the restaurant. The food was lovely.
There were plenty of options for breakfast the following morning. My partner and I both enjoyed the experience.
- Jannis Theileis (1/5): - Beautiful location in the heart of the village It was a nightmare. Before our arrival, we tried calling the accomodation the entire day but no one picked up the phone. When we arrived in the evening the entire place was dark and empty with a phone number on the door to call,- only that the number given was wrong or incomplete and no call could be placed. We had to go to Bunbury then on Christmas and find an alternatve Hotel that very evening.
- Sally (10/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Excellent - Everything superb Very good
- Michel (7/5): Séjour à la campagne - Chambre située à l’étage d’un pub sympathique. Personnel accueillant.
Possibilité de se garer soit au parking du pub soit dans la rue. Les chambres sont vraiment petites. Les lits pas tres confortables. Et l’isolation sonore quasi inexistante, heureusement la rue n’est pas très passante.
- Nicole (7/5): -
- Warren (8/5): Enjoyable - Great old pub in a great location
Great Sunday roast
- Catriona (10/5): - Staff were wonderful and extremely accomodating to our early start. They were also kind about us ordering food later than usual (as we arrived late) and keeping the bar open for us so we could unwind after a long day. Highly recommend and definitley will be staying again.
Facilities in excellent condition.
Beautiful location.
- Val (8/5): -
- Alexander (8/5): - Location and breakfast Very small bed for two people
- Michael (8/5): -
- Janet (5/5): Very disappointing - The evening meal was very good, no complaints at all. The place needed some tlc. The room was basic and needed a good clean - lots of dust on the lightshade, shower head and toilet roll holder. Worst of all was the fire doors propped open with door stops - this is dangerous and contrary to fire safety regulations. Felt very unsafe.
- Patrick (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Good stay - Excellent breakfast Band was playing but although ear plugs were provided i think our room was directly above so very noisy but just one of those things
- Adrian (8/5): -
- Suzie (5/5): -
- Gina (9/5): -
- Eric (8/5): -
- Gary (7/5): Lovely pub with nice staff. Need to rethink the breakfast situation. - Convenient location for my stay Really strong kitchen smell upstairs.
Breakfast selection was very limited and two out of three mornings there were no lights on in the breakfast area so had to use my phone light to read the cereal and tea bag packaging 😂
- Tracy (9/5): Very cosy, comfortable, warm and friendly pub with lovely staff. - It’s location in the heart of the village. Comfortable rooms with nice touches (earplugs🤣) N/A
- Savenko (9/5): an unexpectedly enjoyable plunge into cotswold's serenity - everything about the place is in thoughtful details: starting from the fireplace in the pub, ending with biscuits and nice photos on the walls. The rooms are not big, but clean. the bed is comfortable and linens are super clean. You'll find everything you need in the room:hair dryer, iron, lots of sockets, bedside lamp, kettle and tv. I spend one night there on wednesday, so the pub was pretty quiet and didn't bother my sleep. The house is old, so creaky floor will have more chances to wake you up then pub attendants) as well as the chimes of the old church opposite the pub. That's the only thing to take into consideration if you are a light sleeper. I'm not that kind, so I really enjoyed the sounds of this place. It seems as it's talking to you every 15 min and every hour. Will definitely come back one day again.
- Linda (10/5): Amazing - Amazing staff and really good location
- Les (9/5): Warm and welcoming country pub with comfortable rooms. Perfect for my business trip. - Lovely pub with comfortable rooms in a quiet village. Perfect for my trip. All good
- Bayliss (8/5): - Lovely location lovely food and helpful staff
- Roger (6/5): Good location, clean room and enjoyable evening meal. Very helpful staff and pleasant staff. - Pre warned of weekday continental breakfast - this was rated fair. Evening meal was good, hotel/pub was lively Choice for continental breakfast could have been better. No coffee pods available for machine, coffee bags were reasonable but not ideal.
- Brown (9/5): Excellent accommodation, breakfast wonderful - will go back - The room was great, very clean and warm, it had everything you could need for a one night stay. The hosts were wonderful, very warm, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really good, great choice, very hot and unlimited tea/coffee. Nothing - a great place to stay
- Kenneth (9/5): delightful country inn - Small town with a brewery in walking distance. nothing
- Emma (9/5): Recommmended - Friendly staff. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Quiet location in pretty village.
- Delphinium (8/5): - The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good. We needed to be in Hook Norton to celebrate a birthday and the location was ideal for us. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was a very small room with no space for a bedside table one side of the bed. The extractor fan was right outside our window which wasn't a problem at night as the kitchen was closed. The room was noisy during the day.
- Christos (10/5): -
- louise (7/5): - Lovely food Beds uncomfortable
- Roger (5/5): -
- Connolly (8/5): - Room was pleasant. TV not connected. There was a heating system or something right outside my bedroom window, which was noisy and meant I couldn't open the window. No sugar put out for breakfast, or butter to have with croissants
- Saskia (8/5): -
- Shaun (7/5): -
- Nino (10/5): - Great village pub with good accommodation and an excellent kitchen. Pub classics available - but I tried a risotto with hake that was delicious and then possett with the shortest shortbread ever! Fab.
- david (10/5): -
- Tess (8/5): -
- SAKATA (8/5): -
- Sam (8/5): Great relaxing weekend - Excellent breakfast quality and were great.
- Tim (10/5): As above! - We held our Ruby wedding anniversary celebration nearby, at Hook Norton Brewery, and while we did not stay, most of your rooms were occupied by our friends overnight. All commented on the excellent rooms/service/breakfast. N/A
- Stefan (9/5): - Endlich mal kein Full English... sondern Buffet - Klasse. Ohrstöpsel im Bad, weil es wohl manchmal lauert wird - witzig. Sehr gutes Essen und lokale Biere im Pub. Nix
- Vanessa (10/5): Highly recommend - Beautiful, quaint old pub in a great location on the outskirts of the Cotswolds. Nothing
- Susan (10/5): It was only an overnight stay but would have been happy to stay longer - The old world charm combined with modern facilities. Good food, comfortable room and staff very obliging. No negatives
- Roberts (10/5): Felt welcomed and catered for. - As a Coeliac I felt totally at ease that all care was taken to accommodate my dietary requirements.
The staff were all friendly and it felt like a very well run establishment.
- Sue (9/5): Relaxing Cotswold weekend stay - Charming old in with a modern vibe Slightly noise but to be expected with creaky floors and staying in a pub
- simon (8/5): Great place to stay in a great pub. - Nice place in a quiet village
- Olivia (10/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): 10/10 - Good food, amazing staff, nice village -
- Kim (7/5): - Lovely friendly inn It was hot and we had to take the duvet cover off the beds and use it as a sheet as was too hot for a duvet.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Melissa (9/5): Pleasant place and comfortable stay - The room was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good though it would be nice to have a toaster. It is opposite a church whose bells rings every quarter of an hour including into the night!! And on the hour they ring however many times the hour is. Not great if you're a light sleeper! But they do provide you with ear plugs.
- Chris (10/5): - The location is wonderful! It was quiet, it was the pub and the food was nice. There is nothing to complain about.
- Mrs joanna (10/5): - Really great place to stay, room was perfect and dog friendly is a bonus. Full English breakfast was superb
- Cheryl (9/5): Had a fantastic stay, - Beautiful location. Lovely staff. Food was delicious! Room was great, had everything you needed. Church opposite…the sound of the bells was wonderful on Sunday morning - the perfect end to our stay
- BILL (8/5): - Got in too late for dinner, breakfast was by menu table service, excellent. Do a morning walk, very pretty and quaint old area. Ez parking in front, quiet as well
- Matthew (9/5): -
- M (8/5): -
- Christina (8/5): -
- Toshihiro (6/5): -
- Brian (9/5): Perfect Cotswolds stay at great rate ! - Perfect room at what we thought really competitive price for the area , staff were really attentive & friendly , served breakfast in the morning was an absolute banger !! - Thankyou ! Leaving !
- Michael (8/5): -
- Katy (7/5): Good - Lovely pub & friendly staff, great location to the brewery & delicious Sunday lunch, lovely homemade shortbread biscuits in the room. Very poor continental breakfast on bank holiday Monday. Bed not very comfortable & pillows very flat.
- Alesha (8/5): - Nice little b&b, value for money, comfortable bed and good facilities. Bathroom could have definitely been cleaner, hair blocking bath and what I think was watered down body wash. Would come again though. Lovely location and staff nice and informative.
- Sally (4/5): We booked in for 3 nights but only stayed the one night and lost the money for following two - The location,
Local brewery tour
The evening meal was okay
We had a very interesting chat with a local sitting on a bench outside the hotel after they had closed at 9 pm We weren't told when we booked that the only option was a do it yourself continental breakfast because there were no staff in the building until 4 pm.
The room was cramped, with nowhere to put anything and no wardrobe.
The shower was particularly difficult to move in.
The bar closed at 9 pm and there wasn't anywhere else to go.
It was very hot weather at the time we stayed and very uncomfortable to sleep in
