Guest Reviews
- SILVIA (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with restaurants, the Cathedral, and all the main sights in the historic center just a short walk away. The staff were very friendly and even greeted us with a bottle of wine. We also booked a spa service, and the spa team was both professional and on time.
- SILVIA (10/5): - Great place to stay! Staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean.
- Alexandra Y. Goncharova, Claire (10/5): - This boutique hotel is located in an easily walkable neighborhood close to many restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The staff was very friendly and accommodating during our stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore Merida and the surrounding areas.
- Kamil (8/5): - This boutique hotel strikes a lovely balance between design, comfort, and location — perfect for travelers who want to explore Mérida while enjoying a peaceful, stylish home base. The hotel is very well situated — close enough to walk to many downtown sights. Rooms are well maintained, clean, and with amenities that work well (good AC, comfy beds). The bathroom was attached to the room that was on the outside. Breakfast selection is small, but every dish is very tasty, it is highly recommended to give it a try. The pool was not always as clean or well-kept on some days-leaves, debris. Casa de las Palomas is an excellent choice for couples, solo travelers, or small groups wanting a stylish, relaxing stay in Mérida. If you don’t mind sacrificing a little in terms of full-service dining or having less bathroom enclosure, the charm, comfort, and service really shine.
- Martin (10/5): - This place was beautiful everything we expected for a boutique hotel. The staff was great.
- selene (10/5): - Está muy bien ubicado, el personal muy amable.
- ERASTO (10/5): - Great experience, hotel is super nice, check inn was smooth and very friendly. Breakfast was so tasty and attention to the point, will come back for sure.
- Maria (10/5): - Increible lugar y estadía. La comida deliciosa. Gracias!
- leticia (10/5): - the property is beautiful and location is amazing.
- Jorge (10/5): Happy and impressed. - The facility is beautiful. Elegant, in great shape, and quiet. The location is excellent - two blocks away from Paseo Montejo. The beds are comfortable and the staff is superb. SUPERB.They take hospitality serious here. I'd recommend it to anyone.
- Erika (10/5): - The staff were very nice and the property was clean. We loved the outdoor shower and found the bed to be comfortable. The location is close to everything there is to see. Very walkable. We also liked that there is a corner store across the street where we could buy snacks and water.
- Lesley (10/5): - This room was so quaint and cozy, and the private outdoor shower was such a delight! Everything felt so tropical and incredibly ambient. And waking up to the birds singing away was so beautiful. The staff was so kind and hospitable from the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out. Thank you, Casa de Las Palomas!!
- Joanne (10/5): Amazing staff and service! - The staff were friendly, helpful, and very attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location was excellent, and our room was spacious with a super comfortable bed. The pool was on the smaller side, but it was still great and served its purpose well. I also had an in-room massage, which was both convenient and relaxing. If we're back in the area, we’ll definitely stay here again!
- Daniel (10/5): - Great hotel. Simple, delivers on all aspects and at the same time finds a way to give simplicity. From the room to the breakfast service the staff is there to serve you. I would visit again
- Cristina (10/5): - Exclusive hotel with private area for weary travelers. Great AC and beds.
- Monique (10/5): - The staff, the ambience, the food, the cleanliness, was beyond amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! I will be going back!
- rkigervaron (10/5): Beautiful! - A beautiful place in downtown Merida. Wonderful colonial house with a small but beautiful pool, nicely appointed though basic (but clean) rooms and overall a great feel. The price was an absolute bargain considering the value. Overall great!
- Alfredo (10/5): - beautiful and close to downtown
- NORA (8/5): - The esthetic was beautifully curated. The pool was always clean during my stay. I didn’t look carefully at the amenities (coffee, late snacks, water/ice) but they did not offer or cared to accommodate ice/water requests. Giving 4 stars only for this reason. Otherwise cute place.
- Freya (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Las Palomas! It is walking distance to the historic centre, and has beautiful restaurants around the corner.
- Williams (10/5): - Amazing customer service
- Estella M (10/5): - The property was beautiful and close to everything. The staff was wonderful and very nice.
- Carlos (10/5): - Casa de las Palomas was a relaxing and beautiful place to stay. I enjoyed every area of my room. The room was cleaned daily. Service and staff were professionals. The hotel is a unique and charming place. Loved it and I still can’t get over it. I highly recommend it.
- dan (10/5): perfect 4 night stay - we had a WONDERFUL stay at casa de las palomas. the rooms were CLEAN and the beds and pillows were COMFY. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. the AC gets COLD. i LOVED the outdoor showers.
i have ZERO complaints about my 4 night stay.
- Bertha (10/5): A must see and enjoy - Beautiful remodeled home in the heart of Merida. Great vive, comfortable, elegant and decorated with good taste.
We were not sure about the neighborhood as the rest of the homes look a little older and unkempt but it turned out to be great.
Sofia was really nice
- Carmelita (8/5): - This hotel is nice. The staff is lovely- so cheerful and helpful. The rooms are spacious and it has a nice swimming pool in the middle of the property. There were 2 couples in our party. One had a nice room on the ground floor, the other was okay. The bathroom in the second room was tiny and in need of paint and renovation. Two people could not fit. We had to take turns using the bathroom.
As for the breakfast, we were not impressed. When they said they offered yogurt, it was a tablespoon with the fruit. The fruit available was apple, banana and a couple of blueberries. No mango and no papaya or any other tropical fruit. Very strange! We only ate at the hotel once since it was so disappointing.
- Sheila (8/5): - Small, friendly hotel. The staff is very helpful. The location is convenient. The breakfast menu is limited.
- Tim140580 (10/5): Beautiful hotel - What an oasis in the city. Very stylish surroundings and a lovely breakfast. Great location too, within walking distance.
If we needed to go a bit further, then the Uber’s come quick and are cheap.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. They make you feel welcome.
The room was comfortable and clean. We have a great stay.
- Tim (10/5): Tranquil oasis - A beautiful property, from the moment you enter you realise you have entered a tranquil oasis. Stylishly designed throughout, the property flows well. The pool and breakfast area is truly wonderful.
Love the combination of a/c and fan for the room to keep it cool in the high heat.
The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant recommendation was excellent. Great location to enjoy Merida.
We had a wonderful time. Thank you!
- Anastacia (10/5): - Excellent attention to all guests. Very personalized. The boutique was warm, beautifully decorated. And centerally located. We will return to this special and unique place.
- Susanne (10/5): - Beautiful property, wonderful bed, great amenities, and helpful staff. I highly recommend staying at Casa de Las Palomas.
- James (10/5): - Beautifully styled boutique hotel, well designed and decorated. The room was quite nice and had a wonderful private outdoor shower! The staff were responsive and friendly and this place is walking close to a lot of great dining and shopping.
- Monica (8/5): Mostly good - Everything was excellent except for the fact that there are no hoods anywhere in the room to hang up clothes, towels or anything you wash.
- alejandro (6/5): - Dark room, with a lot of noise from the lobby and kitchen
- Alan (10/5): - The staff were outstanding. They wanted to please their guests.
Wifi worked well.
The television worked but was outdated with no option to utilize a personal Firestick.( USB)
The option that would top these rooms off would be a mini fridge. To be able to keep perishables and cold water would be a asset.
- Kat (10/5): - casa de palomas is a hidden gem within a few blocks from Calle 60. Sophia and the rest of the staff were lovely, very attentive and went above and beyond.
The side streets off Calle 60 are a bit rough around the edges, but come to life at night. Bring a good pair of walking shoes and prepare for uneven ground. There are plenty of great restaurants and art galleries a walk away.
- Jose (10/5): - Beautiful, quiet place. The location is unbeatable, steps from shops, restaurants, etc.
- Heather (10/5): - Honestly the best location!
Such a surprise once you walk through the doors, the pics are accurate but they can’t capture the tall ceiling and true beauty.
The staff are ALL amazing and helpful, by recommending restaurants to supplying what you need.
I’ve never been to a play where the staff are as involved in ensuring stay is perfect.
Their English is amazing, so no worries about lack of communication.
The pool is always cleaned! Yes the wind pics up and old leaves drop in! But they clean several times a day!!
Always sweeping and cleaning the area.
Very impressed, would recommend to travels who like quite beautiful spaces.
Outdoor shower is fun..and for those that complain, it’s Mexico! Not everything is perfect :)
- Brian (10/5): - Fantastic stay. The restaurant food was delicious, room was comfortable, staff super responsive, and the highlight was the pool. Will book again when in Merida!
- J1403ICdavidd (10/5): Just Stunning - Casa De Las Palomas is a stunner. An oasis at the very convenient corner of Calles 49 and 64, such a wonderful place to come home to from your Merida adventures. Everything is understated elegance, from the lobby torn from the pages of Architectural Digest, to the bosky pool courtyard and dining areas. Rooms are big on tile, exposed rock, and local woods, with courtyard views. My room, #6, had a downright decadent outdoor rain shower, featuring hot water and strong pressure--not always found in Mexican hotels. Good bed, quiet overnight. Staff is friendly and eager to please. I sense a hotel of this calibre would be twice, three times the price in Bali or Tulum, so a decent value too.
A few quibbles: I would have loved a chair or loveseat in the room. There is space for a refrigerator in the cabinet, again would have been a welcome addition. And given that the pool is the hotel's central feature, hotel staff should aim to clean pool more often--pool caught a lot of leaves and debris that daily or twice daily cleaning would have removed. Small things.
On the balance, a strong recommendation for your hotel choice in beautiful Merida.

- Stewart (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Less than 10 minutes away from Montejo avenue. Quiet and cozy.
- Susan (10/5): - This is such a lovely property. Intimate setting with unique common areas and so much attention to little details. This is particularly shown in the attention of staff. Would definitely stay again.
- Roberta (10/5): - My room was lovely. The breakfast area outdoors was comfortable with shade and a great breeze all morning.
All the staff were most accommodating and gracious. I would definitely stay again in the future.
- DANIELLE (10/5): Perfection - Absurd in its beauty. The food was 10/10, the rooms were perfect and so artistically rendered. I cannot wait to come back. Staff were SO helpful and responded to WhatsApp messages quickly.
Note the grand master suite is up near the main courtyard and the ceilings are tall so noises will echo. If you prefer a quieter room (to me it still felt private as a solo traveler but for partners it might be less intimate) I’d suggest a room towards the back.
- Scott (6/5): - Very run down and not well maintained property
- Shadthames (10/5): A perfect place to stay in Merida - Great hotel, Brings mexico to your heart. Very cosy but bright and airy: Our garden view room with a terrace was elegant. Comfortable beds. agood shower: Breakfast was of great quality. Super attentive and friendly team to assist us.
Few niggles which are easy to sort. No coffee and tea making facilities in room. If you opt for breakfast as part of the room rate then it is not clear what is included and can lead to some confusion at check out . They are minor niggles .
- Sylvia (10/5): - Amazing decor & architecture!
- Sunetra (6/5): - The staff were nice and available. But the breakfast options were very limited for vegans. We got only avocado toasts and on our last mornign there, we were told that even that was not available. So, we had to leave without breakfast.
The hotel's photos look very upscale and nice but in reality, the rooms are little dated. The room for which we paid extra, was large but was very noisy as it was right near the street and shared a wall with the property office. This was not mentioned anywhere.
So, we had to change the room to sleep properly and we were practically downgraded. But of course, without any money back for the wrong/lack of description. This seemed unfair.
Also, for the wine that was supposed to be part of the stay, it was not offered spontaneously. We had to ask for it and received one.
- Sara (10/5): - Beautiful boutique hotel that’s convenient and walkable. The restaurant, IZEL, is open for breakfast and is excellent. Only a few rooms - we wish ours had been a bit further from the lobby as it was loud multiple times between the hotel entry keypad and guests rolling suitcases around early in the morning. Our particular room shared a wall with the office (which was more of a privacy concern on our part than loud). I’d try to request a quieter room next time. Great spot, with great staff and design - I’d highly recommend!
- Jalen (10/5): - My partner and I had an excellent experience at La Casa de las Paloma’s. We had many questions to which the staff were happy to answer and help with any of our needs. They were so hospitable, welcoming and friendly! They helped us book our relaxing message service and explain the extra services that they offer. Although the weather was not in our favor to enjoy the pool, it was gorgeous and clean. We loved the breakfast included in our stay and my wife enjoyed the horchata brew! Definitely recommend staying at La Casa de las Palomas for your next trip!
- David (10/5): Beautiful spot on the best street in Merida - Firstly, the hotel is beautiful. Lovely landscaped courtyard with dipping pool. The room had a large and comfortable king bed opening to a courtyard patio. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is in a very convenient location for walking and is a prime street for live music, nice restaurants and a some of the more interesting shopping. Finally, the staff was lovely and very helpful. Someone is always on call and helped us with plans, transportation and other accommodations. Couldn’t hade Ben happier with our stay
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Stellar service from the staff. Switched us to a nice room in the back when the first room next to the kitchen proved to be too noisy.
- Myrna (10/5): - Beautiful, comfortable, very friendly and solicitous staff. Breakfast eas outrageously delicious every day. The garden/poil setting serene. Walking distance to the hustle and bustle of Central historic Mérida but quiet at night inside the room. A gem! Will definitely stay here again and recommend!
- Lucas (10/5): - Amazing place
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Charming Boutique Hotel with Exceptional Service
This hotel is absolutely adorable, with a charming boutique aesthetic that captures the spirit of the city perfectly. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed, making it a delightful place to relax.
Exceptional Service:
The staff here are incredible—so friendly and accommodating. They truly went above and beyond, even helping me find a taxi to the airport. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Breakfast was both beautiful and delicious, and the service was nothing short of stellar. Five-star staff all the way!
A Few Suggestions for Improvement:
The pool area could benefit from more consistent upkeep, such as daily skimming, sweeping, and securing furniture to prevent it from being displaced by the wind or blown off when cleaning.
It would be helpful to have a blow dryer in the rooms.
My shower head sprayed water outside the shower area, and the exterior shower walls could use a deep clean to address the mildew.
Overall Experience:
Even with these minor issues, I would absolutely stay here again. The location is amazing—within walking distance to Salada Club, a fantastic pizza spot, and the vibrant Centro. Merida itself is an extraordinary city, and this charming hotel added to the experience beautifully.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Jane (10/5): Excellent service - Best hotel service I have been to. I stayed at curio collection by Hilton before at this hotel, and I’m telling you this hotel is way better than that five star hotel. Specially receptionist and room service is the best forever. They are very accommodating.
- Nikolas (10/5): - Would definitely stay again
- Jazmin (10/5): - Wonderful place, quiet and relaxing, staff is super friendly, also is my second time here, and definitely will comeback again!!
- Jhudyana (10/5): - The hotel us very clean, architecture is great! It is a really relaxing place. It’s walking distance to restaurants and center of city. Salvador was great! I will definitely stay there again!
- Gilberto (10/5): Great and comfy stay - Incredible boutique hotel. Staff was amazing and extra kind. Location is top
- Jorge (10/5): - Beautiful property and very attentive staff. Everyone was always there to help. Absolutely amazing!
- Christina (10/5): An absolutely perfect stay - We had an absolutely amazing stay! The staff is the most accommodating service I’ve ever been around. They jump to help you. The room and grounds were beautiful! The air conditioning was much needed and worked perfectly. We will be back and we highly recommend this hotel.
- Jose (10/5): - Beautiful hotel, super quiet, delicious breakfast, we will come back soon!!!
- Francisco (10/5): - Young and courteous staff members.
- Miguel (10/5): - Beautiful
- Mary Elizabeth (8/5): - Very pretty. Easy to get around. Kept clean.
- Jeanette (10/5): - The staff was AMAZING! We stayed an entire week so we met many members of their staff and each one was just as friendly and helpful as the others.
The fresh crystal water delivered multiple times each day was a great touch! They assisted in excursions, food options, shopping, travel, and even some history about the area and the Yucatan.
I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful property!
- veronica (10/5): - Un lugar muy bonito, seguro y trato excelente
- Verified traveler (10/5): Your home away from home in Mérida - The Casa de Las Palomas was perfect for me with a lovely room and a real king size bed, an air conditioner that worked properly, and efficient and helpful staff. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
- Donna (10/5): - A beautiful hotel with the most AMAZING rooms. Walking distance to the town square. We cannot wait to visit again
- DRAZEN (10/5): - The staff are fantastic and will help you with whatever you need, including early hours. The hotel is small with a stylish and modern design. The location is close to the old town center with excellent food and shopping. We would definitely stay again.
- DRAZEN (10/5): - Excellent. We stayed a second time a reviewed previously.
- Dan (10/5): - Great staff and convenient location.
- Celine (10/5): - I really liked the atmosphere of this place and the staff were super friendly and some spoke English so that helped me a lot. There was dining options which was great and the pool and dining area was beautiful. The whole hotel was beautiful and I would highly recommend this place. The room had air conditioning which was a life saver as it was very hot during the day. The only downside was how mosquitos would get in from outside as the shower door wasn’t fully closable. Other than that everything was perfect.
- Juan (10/5): - Stunning architecture, rooms, service and location is great.
- olga patricia (10/5): - Es un lugar maravilloso, magico y su personal mucho mas, super super recomendado quedamos enamoradas de ese lugar y listas para volver
Gracias
- Donaldo (10/5): - Amazing.. pool is awesome
- Aniceto (10/5): - Amazing staff. Mexican Hospitality at its best. Thank you Oscar and Lucero for taking care of all my needs. My only concern was some noise during my stay from construction workers, but all to make the place better. La cruda did not help so my fault anyways. I will be back.
- Daniel (10/5): - Staff was extremely friendly and attentive.
- Constanza (10/5): Amazing place . - Amazing place . I have many highlights that make our trip magic . The people, food and place were greeeaaatttt!
- Fernando (10/5): - Everything was excellent the chef was great too
- Ramon (10/5): - We had a great stay and the staff was great
- christy (10/5): - Super comfy beds. Very attentive staff. I will go back!
- Richette (10/5): - I really liked the property. It's intimate and exactly what I was looking for as I just wanted to relax.
- Christopher (10/5): Small and Amazing - What a great stay. It’s small but they have all you need. I was “weirded” out by the outdoor shower but enjoyed it. Super location and the staff was incredible. And breakfast and room service were delicious. Just wished my room had a chair. The pool was also a plus. Enough to take a dip to cool off in the afternoons.
- Yolanda (10/5): - Our experience in casa de las Paloma’s was so relaxing. The place exceeded our expectations. It is a gem in the city of Merida. Damian and Julio were very helpful! Clean place great food
- Sally (10/5): - We were so pleasantly surprised by this gem of a hotel. It was perfect for a week's stay in Merida. The location is central, yet quiet. There's plenty of coffee and food options close by. We felt very safe at night. The room is GORGEOUS and the pool is divine. Already planning my next trip! Shout out to all the wonderful, friendly staff who helped us with a ride from the airport and a beach day.
- Rafael (10/5): - Great service and place.
- Debbie (10/5): - Great location. Central to everything, easily walkable. Rooms are beautiful; spacious, clean and super comfortable. Staff is attentive, friendly and provides great tips of things to do/places to eat around the neighborhood.
- Simon (10/5): - Beautiful hotel, very nice and quiet room. Great location in the historical neighborhood. We received the best customer service from the young lady when we checked in who made sure our stay went amazingly well. Will be coming back for sure.
- Luisa (10/5): Staff - Yes the management staff was excellent. Very friendly very helpful!
- Edward (10/5): - Other than not receiving our VIP amenity, all else was well.
- Carlos (10/5): - We Loved it!!! Oscar was ready to greet us. The room soooo beautiful, the patio. To be honest the pictures im website its nothing you have to live the experience
.Walking distance to restaurants, Bars and Centro historico
- Verified traveler (4/5): Pretty but a very bad experience - This was my husband experience: The hotel is pretty, clean and comfortable however hot water was inexistent (I had to take a shower at 3am to catch a flight), I had to be changed of room since the AC didn’t cool the room down at all, the original room was a sauna. The worst experience was a super bad recommendation from the concierge. I was sent to the Lagarto de Oro, this bar smelled like marihuana and alcohol, very very bad place to send a tourist with many more places just a block away from this bar with an excellent quality of food, ambience and service, very secure and well lighted - Paseo Gastronomico. Just for you to know: Oliva, Micaela Mar y Lena among others are good choices to get a drink or have a fantastic meal. We’ll not return even for free. I want to clarify that the service at the hotel is not bad but the experience as a whole was bad.
- maria margarita (4/5): - Didn’t have nothing to drink! Just water! They have a bar but nothing to give you! I ask to have a late check out and they charge me 50 doll just one hour! Not even the courtesy to a late check out! The rooms are not cheep and there are a lot of places like this in Merida! Not worth the money to have a bad service! Boutique hotel means personalized service, well NOT in this place!
- Jonathan (10/5): - Hotel is gorgeous. I could easily spend several weeks there and never need to leave the property except to eat nearby. Very close to Montejo and the main plaza with the cathedral. Simply the best!
