Guest Reviews
- Poothicot (6/5): Disappointing! - The room was small, toilet tiny & stifling. Health faucet broken with one needing to balance the act with operating the tap. Mirror falling off the bracket..When we checked in it was a cold greeting by Hajar with a “Head Mistress” like attitude. She messed up our Hammam & Massage schedules that were paid for in advance for 3 adults & did not hand over to Sameera who arrived on duty in the morning. Sameera at the Front Desk was a breath of fresh air, kind, smiling, accommodating & making reservations for our dinner & lunch. The massage by masseuse Hajar was excellent. The Hammam was a disaster as it was disorganised & our appointments not scheduled so it was stressful. We just wanted to get out of there. Breakfast was good but please don’t order their Chinese fried rice as it is a far cry from Chinese. I suggest the management tweak the staff standards & upgrade their facilities which will enable them to deliver what they supposedly advertise..
- KatharineCoeur (10/5): Stay here for an authentic Moroccan ryad experience (if stairs don't bother you). - To be in an historic ryad within the Old Town (Medina) walls here was well worth the (many) stairs to our 2nd floor suite. Quiet, comfortable, great shower, lots of hot water, surrounded by friendly & helpful staff .... what's not to love. Three nights here. Wonderful.
- lisarose (10/5): Cute and calm mini-hotel - This riad is right near the prettiest streets, serves good dinners, and has comfortable spacious rooms with great service. My favorite thing about this hotel was the Hammam and other spa treatments. I also appreciated the modern heating system in the rooms, the extra living space in the rooms, and how comfortable the bed was. Be ready to climb a lot of stairs, and also if you have an exterior facing window you will hear the call to prayer super early.
- odileg431 (10/5): Loved the terraces - Loved this little hotel. Nice big rooms, we had a very nice dinner and breakfast, wished we could have stayed 2 nights. Very nice staff.
- U6234USkerrya (10/5): Hamam and Massage. I did not stay at the accomodation and was recommended. - I had a Hamam with Sanae and a Massage with Ikram. Both women were amazing and I would definitely recommend both. Thank you both
- 646vickid (10/5): Unlike any other - This is the loveliest hotel! The boutique style hotel is beautiful everywhere you look. The service and hospitality are impeccable. It is a must stay for anyone who wants a special experience while in Chefchaouen.
- Brian (10/5): - Beautiful Riad. Helpful staff. Refreshing pool. I’d definitely recommend a stay here
- David (10/5): Beautiful place to stay - Beautiful place to stay with very friendly staff. View from the terrace was stunning.
- laurawF2986ES (10/5): - Wonderful stay. The staff, foo and location are beyond compare. Beautiful riad but it’s the staff that makes it so very special. Food is to die for. Every night we sat on the upstairs deck enjoying the beautiful prayers coming from the miniarets. So lovely. Again, I can’t say enough about the women working at the riad. They should come to the u.s. and give lessons on kindness and grace. Truly amazing!
- aram (10/5): - Great location with charming architecture and a spa.
- Anoop (8/5): - Too many steps.
- avidiollc (10/5): A marvelous stay at Lina Ryad in Chefchaouen - What an amazing Riad and spa in the heart of beautiful Chefchaouen. We stayed at a suite on the top floor with access to the terrace and a wonderful view of the blue city. Easy walk to all around the city and the main square. Staff were very hospitable. Great place to stay.
- Patrick (10/5): - We had the best time in the Blue City, staying in Lina Ryad. Can’t wait to visit again.
- Pascale (10/5): - Great , clean , beautiful!
Breakfast fabulous
Staff super!!
- RRCTraveler (10/5): A lovely Riad with wonderful service - This is a lovely riad with wonderful service. Everyone we encountered were so pleasant and accommodating (from reception, to staff serving meals and housekeeping). We were on the 4th floor (had lots of steps to get there) but the view from our terrace was worth it ! They even brought our dinner to our room one night ! The room was quite comfortable, a bit on the small side, but we felt right at home.
Our stay was the first stop in a 2 week trip in Morocco, so it was a great way to start with wonderful hospitality and comfort. I would highly recommend staying here.
- DorrieN830 (10/5): Lovely Ryad and Wonderful Massage - Beautiful Ryad with expansive views of the city. I had an incredible massage. Exceptional. The food was good and the staff were kind and professional. It was a lovely experience and a wonderful place to decompress and relax after days of traveling.
- MMB1954 (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Overall a nice hotel in the middle of Chefchaouen. Quite a walk up from where the cars can drop you. Room was comfortable and we had a nice view over the city which is a very popular tourist attraction. The staff were very nice and helpful especially the lady who served us at breakfast. Lots of stairs getting to the rooms and there is a nice roof terrace. If you want to drink alcohol you have to bring your own but overall we enjoyed our stay in the city with the majority of the streets painted in a vibrant blue!
- Minesh (10/5): - This is a new Riad in a the historical part of the city. Highly recommended!
- Scenic18538347497 (10/5): Very good Moroccan bath experience - I lately visited the spa & had a really good Moroccon bath experience by Eman, a very professional polite lady. With her techniques, she took off all the dead skin without any rash happening to the skin . Should consider reservations before going. I highly recommend the spa.
- StrangerClay (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing stay - Beautiful ryad with easy access to everything and great hosts. The spa is fantastic too. The breakfast was delicious and included with the stay, and we were able to book the pool to use in private for half an hour. Roof top access and views were impeccable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cute place to stay for one night.
Very attentive and polite staff.
Not for elderly people or anyone with physical limitations.
Lots of sharp stairs.
We enjoyed our stay
- Lisarj17 (10/5): Lovely Riad with Hammam - This is a really comfortable Riad that gave us such a warm welcome! The Riad sent men to come down to the edge of the Medina to meet us and collect our bags. They also carried our suitcases up to our room on the top and back down to the car park when we left.
It’s in a great spot where you can walk around and lose yourself but get back with google maps! Breakfast was delicious with a selection of breads, savoury and sweet, yogurt, fresh fruit, and eggs served however you like them.
We also had dinner at their restaurant and I had a delicious baby goat tagine. We had a couple Hammam too which was our first time - I’ve never felt so clean and my skin was so soft
Excellent staff
Highly recommend
- G (10/5): - Beautiful property. Fantastic welcome. Truly excellent service. Great stay!
- tonyvG496EV (10/5): As close to perfection as possible - This place was amazing. The service was remarkable from start to finish. Examples:
- We asked for someone to meet us at the CTM bus terminal, and the Manager herself met us as we walked off the bus, she arranged the taxi, rode with us to the Medina Gate where we were met by a porter who took our three heavy bags and led us right to the place.
- Lunch was prepared for us from scratch and was delicious.
- We had the room on the 4th (top) floor (room #5) which was absolutely spotless and beautiful.
- But the Rooftop Terrace was the unexpected surprise - the view was absolutely amazing, and was accessible from our living room doors.
- In the evening we went to the lobby to relax and immediately mint tea and cookies appeared, at no charge and without asking.
- The breakfast was freshly prepared for us and delicious.
- We had the same service when we left - the porter carried our bags again, walked us out to the gate and got us a taxi.
This was five star all the way. I highly recommend this to anyone staying in Chefchaouen. We almost extended our stay we liked it so much.
- craig (8/5): - Characterful, historic building, well renovated with historical touches.
Staff professional and friendly enough. And food well presented by pleasant staff, although if you like wine with dinner, remember that much of Morocco is dry.
Cannot comment on pool/spa; closed at time of stay.
Note on parking; the property has no on-premise parking. Park in Plaza Parador if there’s space, then phone the property, who will send you a porter the 400m for your bags.
Once in the property, the rooms are welcoming (I had a great night’s sleep) and the roof terrace gives one of the great views of the town and surrounds; take the rough with the smooth, and enjoy!
- Monem (10/5): - Nice pool to book, we were in a central location, everything is walkable. Food was really good at the hotel.
- Kenric (8/5): - Lovely property. Professional, helpful and welcoming staff. Great breakfast. Note to visitors: swimming pool needs to be scheduled.
- C_James06 (10/5): Hidden Gem with Modern Conveniences and Great Service - Stayed two nights at the wonderful 17-room Lina Ryad & Spa (established in 2012) over Christmas. Our driver dropped us off near the handicrafts centre. If not for the “porters” from the riad, it would have been rather difficult to find the property on our own. As the name suggest, the property has a spa onsite as well as a pool which has to be reserved on hourly blocks.
Service by the lovely staff cannot be faulted. We were treated very well with things explained clearly. The Moroccan breakfast was yummy and takes a lot of discipline to not overeat. It’s nice that the riad warms up the bread. Breakfast is served from 7-12! If eating in for dinner, we highly recommend the baby goat.
We had room 5. Really nothing to complain. The room has the usual fridge, kettle, hair dryer, in-room safe. The TV works and we even found BBC News in English (channel 323) and Al Jezeera English (channel 92). WiFi was more than acceptable for our purpose.
The property is not like other riads we have been to with the central courtyard and high ceiling. It is more modern with plenty of conveniences. The rooftop terrace affords a wonderful view of the city and for one to catch the brilliant sunset.
Definitely recommend the property to anyone contemplating a stay in Chefchaouen.
- prathima (10/5): - Riad was very beautiful. Staff was super friendly. Property is walkable to the town and super convenient. Food was super awesome. Highly recommend eating here during your stay.
- lvfontaine (6/5): Not worth it. Make sure you arent given room #2 - Chefchaouen is a stunning city and a must visit in Morocco. Unfortunately, we booked a room with mountain views and we given room #2 with no view, except the alley full of trash and right above the kitchen. The fish smell from the night's dinner was so awful they brought up airfreshner and a candle for us. The noise from the kitchen starting early in the morning was even better :(. For a 5 star Riad and the cost, we expected much more. They are very nice and professional though and the pool was delightful. Breakfast was nice. Definitely not the top Riad, the awards or reviews boasted, which we were hoping for.
- Kaid (10/5): - great experince overall...loved it
- Rahim (10/5): - Amazing overall experience
- Rebecca (10/5): - Very helpful staff that went out of their way for us in many ways. It was my birthday and the surprised me with a beautiful desert and a happy birthday song from the whole staff!! I loved everything about this hotel
- drjeff (8/5): Excellent Meals - Luckily we had our guide to help us.
This Riad is a bit of a hike from the main road. Plus you have to climb multiple steps just to get into the hotel .
Our room was on the third floor , so a lot of steps . If you have mobility issues this is not the place for you.
That being said , the food in the hotel was quite good . The service was excellent and everyone was quite friendly .
The roooms were quite clean and well taken care of.
We enjoyed our stay here
- 138stanc (10/5): Superior service and accommodation! - Stunning location with a superb staff! The warm pool was closed off for my husband and I to have a private 1 hour swim, which just hit the spot after walking the streets exploring all day. The dinner served was excellent! Our breakfast delicious and filling! The staff deserve a huge shout out for always smiling and handling every need we had...even bringing us a late night snack of bread and cheese! This is a gem of a location, highly recommended by us!!
- GoPlaces46428681826 (10/5): Outstanding - Wonderful riad in the heart of Chefchaouen. The customer service was impeccable. Everyone had excellent English and was very accommodating to all our needs. One of the best meals we had during our ten day trip. Women owned and run business.
Highly recommend it.
- swimgirl106 (10/5): Great ryad - We had a wonderful stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff are very gracious and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and served quickly. We took advantage of the Hammam and massage service and we’re so happy that we did. As others have mentioned, if you need help with your luggage, call ahead and they will send a porter to meet you. It seems like a long way up the road when you first arrive, but it’s actually just a five minute walk. The location is perfect for visiting shops, other restaurants, and taking a small walk up to the mosque. We highly recommend this ryad.
- jean (10/5): - Excellent service and clean!
- N3petruc (10/5): Beautiful riad! - This riad was simply amazing. It’s so beautifully decorated and it a great location tucked away so that you can get a good sleep. The roof top is beautiful at night and relaxing to end the day. There is a refrigerator in the room which is a bonus! The staff goes above and beyond! Highly recommend!
- Keith (10/5): - This riad was absolutely amazing. It’s in the perfect location to walk the Medina and it’s incredibly quiet compared to other riads we stayed at during our trip. The porter was helpful meeting us and our driver to carry our bags. He even helped when we had some confusion when we were leaving. Overall great visit. I would highly recommends a stay here
- AllisonCW (10/5): Excellent choice for Chefchaouen! - We have been thrilled with Lina Ryad and Spa. The rooms and bathroom are beautiful and spacious with nice toiletries. The spa treatments available are so reasonable and amazing including the "hammam" which is a body scrub on wet marble by Lupna, who did a wonderful job. I also enjoyed one of the best 60 minute massages and 30 minute foot massages of my life with Ikram!! There is a beautiful indoor pool to enjoy (and you can even reserve it for free for an hour if you wish). The location is great and you can walk around all the beautiful blue streets and vendor markets. The staff has been incredibly accommodating. There is no elevator and it takes some effort to get from the main street through the alleyways to get to the hotel itself…upon the way in... however, their porters are very willing and able to help with your luggage… So it was no problem at all. They also have a rooftop terrace with lovely views of the city, particularly in the evening. Also, the food is delicious, varied and plentiful! Their welcome "lemon juice drink" is out of this world delicious! I would also like to recognize Hajar, Nejwa, Saada and Hossein who all made our visit extra special! I would not hesitate to recommend Lina Ryad and Spa when visiting Chefchaouen!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service and clean room. Needs a little updating. There is no elevator….it was ok for us but a note to others.
- P8416RHtammyw (10/5): Wonderful hotel - We recently stayed 2 nights at the Riad while we were on a three week vacation to Europe/Morocco. While travelling we stayed at 12 different hotels, and our group of 4 agreed the Riad was one of the nicest hotels we stayed at due to the kindness and hospitality of the staff. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and felt the service was impeccable. We also liked the comfortable beds, clean rooms and comfortable space, and warm and relaxing pool. We would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the beautiful blue pearl city of Chefchaouen ✨
- karyn (8/5): - It can be a tad noisy even inside the lovely Ryad. The staff were excellent, and we enjoyed the hamman. The breakfasts are generous and the dinner very tasty. My little complaint is that the bathroom was tiny and dim and there is no full length mirror. The room itself was large and comfortable. And we were even able to get CNN tv.
- Marla (10/5): Lots of steps lead to a special view! - This is a delightful Chefchaouen option at the top of a hill with a spectacular view. We were in Room 5, on the 4th floor with no elevator. That was inconvenient but the room and its view helped to counter that piece. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and included. Location within the spectacular Medina was excellent. All in all a great choice.
- Sawsan N (10/5): - Beautiful Riad, Nice staff but not easy to get to if you have big luggage. Right in the heart of the old city such makes easy to get to city just by stepping out of the door. Tasteful decor and colors. I would stay here if I’m in Chefchaouen again
- Jean Philippe (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Lina Ryad. The staff is helpful and accomodating. The hotel is very clean and offer nice views of the city. The breakfast at the Ryad was also fantastic. Would definitely recommend going there!
- Nicolas (10/5): - Well located
- Sarah (10/5): - We just returned from a lovely stay at the Lina Ryad and Spa. This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location in the center of the Chefchouen medina. The lobby and rooms are absolutely lovely, and the breakfast is delicious. The most outstanding part of our stay however was the staff. They were extremely helpful when we became lost on our drive there, and so welcoming and wonderful during our stay . This lovely hotel should not be missed !
- Shellina (10/5): - Excellent service and staff
- tim (10/5): - Lovely spa hotel. Great staff, service. Good food. Lovely treatments (we had the one hour massage which was superb). Just slightly challenging if driving as you can only get to within 4-5 minute walk to the hotel.
- Therese (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay the this Ryad. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were beautiful. This is probably without a doubt the fanciest hotel in Chefchaouen. We would come back here again. The pool/ham man is beautiful. The property is lovely but it is a little tired and the bathrooms in the bedroom could do with a little bit of an upgrade. That’s is me being picky because it is not a cheap place to stay. However it is a beautiful place so I don’t want to be too negative.
- Karen (10/5): - Each staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. We really felt cared for during our stay at Lina. Also, our room was sparkling clean, and the view from our private terrace was lovely.
Call them ahead of your arrival to get help transporting your luggage. They will gladly assist you, and it's not easy to find if you don't know the medina.
- Gustavo (10/5): - Very nice setup, helpful staff and quiet place
- Carl (8/5): - Hotel location and staff were excellent. Only issue is that it is a little loud inside the hotel. Doors opening and closing, people talking and pool noise echoed throughout. The accommodations are beautiful and the location is perfect.
- John (10/5): - A very nice place to stay.
Elegantly furnished
Wonderful Staff especially helpful with luggage
Excellent restaurant
It’s difficult to imagine a nicer place to stay in Chefchaouen.
- mariah (10/5): - Very friendly staff.
- Mithuna (10/5): - The location was
- Vikramjit (10/5): - Parking is an issue especially if you are driving your own car.
- Muhammad (10/5): - Probably the best place to stay in blue city for all the right reasons. It’s a mix of Riad and a Hotel, so not the typical riad you’ll find in big Medinas, but still worth the price tag
- Sarah (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful gem in the heart of chefchaouen. Impeccable service, delicious food. Our best stay in Morocco. Spa was wonderful. The room was lovely and the ambience wasjust perfect cant recommend this hotel enough. Thank you to all the staff who make this a 5* hotel! A little piece of heaven.
- Sarah (10/5): - Fantastic stay, best Riad I have stayed in, in morocco. Top class service, wonderful food.
- Rhonda (10/5): Great location in the heart of Chef! - Perfect location! Great views! Amazing spa! Friendly staff! Can walk anywhere in minutes!
- leora (10/5): - Beautiful moroccan style riad. Loved the outdoor morning breakfast and lounging in the pool
- Zoe (8/5): - This is the nicest property by far in Chefchaouen. The staff is incredibly friendly and responsive. The free breakfast was the best meal we had during our stay. However, the room was very warm, despite there being air conditioning. On the first night, we requested a fan, however it did not make much of a difference unfortunately. Keep in mind that Lina Ryad is located on top of a hill that is not accessible by car. Call the hotel once you arrive, so the porter can help you with your bags. Even with his help, the walk up the hill is warm and uncomfortable in the summer months.
- GerryAnne (10/5): - Fabulous hotel. However
not for anyone with mobility issues.
- Genevieve (10/5): - We were in a suite on the last floor (room 8) with access to a terrace, beautiful. The hotel is pretty close to a parking space. We used the pool which is heated and has to be reserved in advance. Breakfast was good. A great stay and I would recommend this hotel
- Hisham (6/5): - Hotel is okay for the price. It’s a lil run down. Small, toilets are compact. No elevator. Overpriced for the quality of room your getting.
- MichalTobin (10/5): - Amazing stay very authentic and the food was so great
- chandrasekar (10/5): - The Riad was clean, staff courteous and responsive
Rooms spacious
- Kamran (10/5): - Cleanest non-Marriott in Morocco we stayed at. Perfect for a honeymoon. Kind staff and great facilities. Massages are far better than any you’d have in the USA.
- Jacqueline Smith (10/5): - The room was charming, the staff was helpful and friendly, centrally located...
- Sandra (10/5): Happy customer - It was a very pleasant stay. The employees were great, friendly and knowledgeable and ready to help when needed
- Olga (4/5): Way pass it’s prime - Lina Riad is past its prime by about 30 or so years. The place looks really unkept - wrinkled curtains, dirty table clothes. Our room was in the process of cleaning while we were already in it 2 hours past check in time. Hostesses were tolerant but not polite or welcoming. We are really not a difficult guests and enjoyed all the places we stayed in Morocco, this one we were told is a specially good one - and that one was a miss..
- Maha (6/5): - Very expensive for this one and not a five star.. 3 star fair enough for this property..
- Chantal (10/5): - This is my favourite hotel in Chefchaouen. Quiet and clean. The private terrace is the best place to enjoy the city and a beautiful dinner.
- Margery (10/5): Highly recommended Riad with excellent service - Absolutely beautiful Riad offering great service and excellent food. The room was spacious and well-appointed, the shared and outdoor terraces terrific. We also enjoyed the swimming pool. The staff were warm, attentive, & helpful. Highly recommend.
- GARY (10/5): - Great Ryad, outstanding staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Extremely good service with great amenities
Central location so little noisy at night
Highly recommend this hotel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent hotel - Excellent hotel! The staff are super helpful, responsive, and friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location is fantastic. Highly recommend!
- Aly (10/5): - Thank you so much for the genuine and thoughtful hospitality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Don’t miss the spa! Best massage ever!
Breakfast was delicious!
Rooms are gorgeous!
Location is priceless!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. The staff are super nice and helpful. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was superb. I give it my highest recommendation and plan to stay there when I return to Chefchaouen.
- Silvana (10/5): A Gem in a Precious Town - Chefchaouen’s beauty makes it a magical place. And staying at Lina Ryad, made it a glorious experience. Everything was perfect! The sunset view from the terrace is spectacular.
Thank you Ibrahim, Fatima, Radia and Bahija for making this my most memorable vacation!
- Natalie (10/5): - The Lina ryad spa is definitely a 5 star. The staff really go above and beyond your needs. It felt like a home away from home. Would recommend to stay here. We will be back soon!
- David (10/5): Special place - Wonderful stay. Beautiful room! Very committed and kind staff. Like another reviewer noted, I think with just a little more time and experience (and perhaps some mentoring or visiting hotels known for exquisite service) the staff here would be truly exceptional. I’m very grateful for their efforts to make our stay in Chefchouen very special.
- Fawzia (10/5): - Such great hospitality and amazing location in the center of the medina!
- Eric (10/5): - Nice, simple riad in the middle of Chefchaoun Médina. Nice comfortable bed and nice bathroom with beautiful shower.
Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s so beautiful and the staff were wonderful and kind.
- DGilpin (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, pool was amazing to soak in and was booked privately.
- Marla (10/5): - The staff was wonderful and the property was beautiful. The pool was outstanding. The room was so nice. I only wish we could have stayed there more nights.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excelent Hotel - Excellent hotel! Highly recommend you stay! We had a great time and loved the facilities and staff was kind and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Small but luxurious. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Perfect location right in the middle of the Medina.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic people & service! Food very good and alll are fantastic ! Many tks
- Emily (6/5): Great breakfast! - This riad is centrally located and has a wonderful breakfast. I wouldn’t classify this as luxury or high end, but it was comfortable enough for our one night In chefchouen!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff at this Riad were so friendly and welcoming! They made our stay in Chefchaouen truly amazing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked because of the location, the private pool, the room, the staff... everything
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful and charming Ryad. Loved every minute of my stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely location. Pretty and clean with welcoming staff. Only complaint we have is noise. The children in the house next door were up playing until 2 am and the noise kept us from sleeping
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Just lovely. We were reluctant to leave this gorgeous place. Our room was fabulous. Large, airy, lovely décor and view to mountains and outside courtyard. Staff were so kind especially the lovely young lady who served our meals. We chose to eat in the hotel the first night as we'd been exploring the streets most of the day and were so impressed that we ate there the next night as well. The food was authentic and truly delicious. The location is perfect although winding through the alleys is a bit of shock when you are dropped off in the square. However, the hotel has someone who will meet you and carry your luggage if you can contact them from the square. There are also plenty of willing helpers in the square who will help for a few euros and believe me it is worth it. Whichever Ryad, guest house or hotel you choose, you are going to have to drag luggage through alleys and upstairs. The breakfast was as good as the meals. The bed was dreamy. The rooftop terrace was magic in the evenings. Everything was perfect.
