Guest Reviews
- Monica (10/5): - We really enjoyed our two night stay at Casa Iside. The room we had was a double room with an external private-use bathroom.
Everything was extremely clean and well presented.
The room was a large size with so many lovely little welcoming extras. Very well stocked minibar fridge with beverages. Tea and coffee facilities and Many yummy snack biscuits, chips etc all included. Breakfast was included and was lovely warm and fresh brioche delivered daily. Then there was plenty of fresh ham and cheese in the fridge to combine with your brioche.
The location was amazing being a 10 mins walk to the colosseum and loads of dining choices.
Thank you Andrea for looking after us in our stay. Would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is one of the nicest BNBs I have stayed at, the rooms are clean, the staff are all very helpful and friendly. The host, Andrea, is very accommodating and a wonderful person, he is very easy to talk to. Andrea also provides a nice breakfast and makes great cappuccinos. The location is amazing, only a few minutes away from the Coliseum, San Giovanni Cathedral, and from the Manzoni metro station. Lots of great restaurants in the area too, Andrea offers some great suggestions. One of the nicest areas in central Rome, close to everything but away from the the crowds of people. After staying at this BNB twice, I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Rome.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Anfritiao Andrea muito educado ,atencioso e prestativo ! Localização excelente , a poucos metros do metrô e Coliseu !!! Quarto bom, limpo e organizado !
- Dirk (8/5): Nice place with good location for sightseeing - Nice room, good location, bus/metro stations close to the b&b.
Breakfast is nothing special, coffee, tea, bread, cereals. Good enough for the start in the day.
- ROXANA (10/5): - Recomendable 100%!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing stay - We were only in Rome for a few days and we were able to make the most of it because of Andrea. He not only greeted us when we first got there. He helped us with any questions of the city and gave us advice on how to get the most of the trip. Our room was just beautiful ! Very clean, had all the essentials we needed and also a adapter for the Italian electric plug. The location of the B&B is a few minutes walking from the Colosseum. Highly recommended. Will stay again when we come back.
- Marilyn (8/5): A Week in Rome - Brilliant location, charming and helpful host.
- Pedro (10/5): Boa estadia - Muito boa localização, 3min do coliseu. Local limpo, com limpeza diária. Wifi bom. ótimo custo- benefício.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Andrea is a good and welcoming host. The overall experience was good. He tried his best to make the stay good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): No repetiría.
- Hotelier (4/5): - Overall was good especially the location and the check-in experience. The host Andrea is quite patiently explained the Area of Interest with us and prepared nice breakfast for us.
On the first night of staying, the host sent us Air-Cond controller when we told him that the room was warm. However, we do not understand why housekeeping staff collect back the controller after made up the room. It was then again we asked for the air-cond controller for 2nd time from the Host since 9.30pm however we did not get the response immediately like the 1st night, hence we are trying our luck to reach the host. Finally, the host was able to reply me at around 11-11.30pm when the 2nd time of request was deliverd however the attitude didn't quite well. (We do understand the frustration but considering we have been trying to contact since 9.30pm when there was no response, we felt frustrated as well and could not figure out why the housekeeper collect back the controller since he knew that we continue our stay.)
On the last day when we check-out, we brought the shower head to the host and told him that the shower head was dropped when my husband trying to twist the head when he showered, the Host didn't look happy and the reaction showed us that he was not happy we broke the shower head. When he was tying to fix back the shower head of which we were trying to do so when the incident happened, he was not happy and blamed us that we made the floor flooding and the wooden door didn't work well.
- Hamy (8/5): - Very nice and clean. Great customer service
Close to Colosseum and Palatine Museum on Palatine Hill, close to metro
- Ira (10/5): - What a perfect little hotel! Defenitely coming back here the next time in Rome.
The room was cleaner tha expected and the location was nice.
- zule (8/5): Very good location - The place is an apartment with 3 rooms, a kitchen and a small hall, sometimes is a little bit noisy specially because people has not respect for other people rest, very clean, easy to move around, Andrea and Adrian very nice people always helpful.
I just think they should improve the quality of coffee and tea.
- John (10/5): - Andrea was awesome in accommodating us. And the location was perfect. Will be back again.
- Aiden (10/5): Great B&B, return! - we've just retuned from our stay in B&B Locanderia and we've only got positive things to say.
Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the workers there, given our keys and told when breakfast was (8:30-10:30am) and given a map of the city with a bit of essential information.
The room was very clean, and the air con excellent, basic but everything you'd need for a city stay. Breakfast was good, and Andrea couldn't have been more helpful, he told us where to go and how to get there on public transport. He even booked us a return transfer to the airport (50 euros).
The B&B itself is located around an 8 minute walk to the colosseum, and if you go down the street opposite Mecure Hotel, and to the right, there is a lovely selection of cheap but wonderful restaurants.
There is also plenty of public transport services around the B&B within 3 mins walk.
Overall we would completely recommend and would love to return.
Thanks again Andrea!
- Joanne (4/5): Disapointed! - I booked this trip as a surprise for my twin daughters, who turn 21 later this year, after reading all the reviews I thought this would be a little gem - I was wrong. This B&B was quite hard to find, in a residential apartment block. The photos on the website show it as being a light and airy building. The room we were given was nothing like the photographs. It was very dark whatever the time of day and we had to turn on the lights whilst in there. The shower leaked and flooded the bathroom floor every time we used it and the window in the bathroom opened out into the boiler room. You could hear people in adjacent rooms having a shower/flushing the toilet and their conversations. Our room door opened out directly onto the breakfast area and had a gap between the doors of about an inch. The owners are not based on site and only attend the building during breakfast or for new arrivals. I mentioned the shower to the owner and he just dismissed it. Breakfast consisted of a croissant and two small slices of toast, with hot drink and juice. Every day - there was no other choices. On the plus side it is very near to the Coliseum and bus/metro services are very close by. We were very disappointed with the room but didn't let that spoil our holiday. Rome is definitely a place I would visit again, but I would stay elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Hotel close to coliseum - Arrived at b&b found it difficult to gain access and had to wait for owner for 20mins,was no breakfast on the Sunday and no room was cleaned on Sunday.
On the Monday night at 11pm doorbell was ringing constantly so I eventually went to door to see 2 guests arriving
And we tried to contact owner but after 1hr no reply so they went to find
Alternative accommodation.
We had a 7 year old child with us and no cereal for breakfast. Just toast and croutons.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Host was amazing went above and beyond what was expected. Location amazingly close to everything, perfect for a quick city visit as a couple.
- Wendy (8/5): Basic but clean. - The room was large and clean with plenty of hanging space for clothes. The bathroom was clean but needs a little work - the shower screen was broken. Breakfast was lovely, fresh croissants every morning, but could have done with a little fruit. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge in the main kitchen area which was useful.
This B+B is in a great location and is great value for money. I would stay again.
- jennipher (8/5): The owner Andrea is the nicest man I've ever met. - The owner not only is welcoming but will go above and beyond for recommendations and make things comfortable and convince for you. The room is big, it is clean, you have freedom to come and go with ease. It has airconditioning.
Cons- showers are a little small (but again very clean)
The keys for the room are a skeleton key, so that should be upgraded, they make a lot of noise trying to get them to open and could wake others.
- Jo (8/5): Great location, friendly owner - Fabulous time in Rome.
Four of us traveling (2 adults, 14 & 12 year old ).
Enjoyed all the major sites, Colosseum, Forum, St Peters, Trevi Fountain but just wandering round this great city is the best way to take everything in.
- Natalie (8/5): Nice! - Would have liked to be a bit closer to main restaurants/shops etc, but great stay!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice and clean - The place was hard to locate... Due to no sign. But the owner was awesome in waiting for us for a very late check upon arriving from the airport. Due to a mistake on their end there upgraded us to a full apartment that was extra awesome! Walking distance to train, bus, and attractions. Great location and wonderful staff!
- Mrs M (8/5): - The B&B is simple, but offers everything a traveller need. Good breakfast, comfortable bed, great shower. Location is very good, walking distance to the Colosseum, and conveniently close to a subway station. Very happy with our stay, and would stay again and recommend.
- suzanne (10/5): Cannot fault. Perfect Rome escape. - Perfect location. Bus stop and metro stop very close to get to all attractions... Or close enough to walk to. 5-7 mins to colosseum. Just off a main road so lovely a quiet. Characterful building and rooms. Quirky. Breakfast. Not loads but just right!! Andrea great host... Very helpful. Absolutely fantastic value for money! This is a B and B so don't expect full hotel amenities. Wifi connection however was superb. Reliable and speedy enough to research all our travel plans.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Keep looking - Rome can offer better. - This is a strange place; there is nobody available at all times, leaving you to fend for yourself with questions about heat, internet, etc. I was chilly the whole visit and did not enjoy. It was a decent cost and the rooms were good sized, but dark, cold and not the best hospitality.
- Daniel (10/5): Fantastic hotel in a central location - We had a great stay! The hotel staff were very friendly and our room was quiet and clean. The location is superb and the breakfast is just what you need before heading out to explore Rome.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - This b&b has a great location close to all the key sights. The rooms are however quite basic with no wardrobe space, tea/coffee facilities and very thin walls. We had a problem with the shower however Andrea was quick to fix this and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Rooms, Good Location but no Breakfast - The place was neat and clean and not very far from the Colosseum. The breakfast was very basic which included only bread, biscuits and tea and coffee packs. Not even Milk and juice was provided. The owner was friendly and helpful but there was extra 3.75 euros per person per night which was not mentioned anywhere
- paul richardson (10/5): great place - Andrea was brilliant! So helpful! Great room! Best in the place! Great location! Will recommend to anyone!!
- Emily (8/5): - Lovely B&B, convienent for all the sights Rome was to offer
- fareena (10/5): Excellent place Colosieum - It was a good experience staying there. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
Price wise, it was good but as you are staying in the center so overall prices of stuff around the area are bit higher than else where but I wont bring that into my checklist as a NO. Overall very good bus, tram, train connections and good hotel service.
My kids loved staying there. We stayed during October 2015.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location close to the Colosseum - This was a great location - 5 minutes walk to the Colosseum! Andrea was most helpful and the breakfast each morning a bonus. The room was large and spacious but although it had doors onto a 'balcony' area you couldn't open the windows so no fresh air which was a shame. However, the room was comfortable and free wifi etc was excellent. It was also a close walk to the metro - so access to other parts of the city was easy and convenient. Access to the kitchen was all hours, so possible to make tea and coffee and have takeaways. The room is in an old building that looks great, has a lift if required and is well presented. Our bathroom needed a little TLC and updating but the shower etc was great. Overall, a really nice stay in a great location for tourist access.
- Valerie (10/5): Very Nice place !!! - I was in rome for a medical meeting at auditorium antonianum (200 m far from the b&b). The b&b was very Nice and Andrea helped me a lot for the organisation of my venue.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Rome holiday - Okay, suited our needs. Hard to find.
- sam (10/5): Great Location and wonderful owner! - The B&B is 500m from Santa Marinella train station so the location is ideal as the means the town centre is only a couple hundred metres more. The owner Phillpo is passionate about Florence and loves his city. He suggested amazing places for us to eat and must see locations. The rooms are well kept and modern, we had fresh towels once back from our days out. What more could you ask! Loved it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): 8 night stay at B&B Locanderia, Rome - This was a brilliant place to stay, central, about 5- 10 min walk to colosseum, 3 min to closest metro. Andrea who runs the B&B is a terrific host. HE ORGANISED A TRANSFER FROM AN TO AIPORT, MADE OUR BREAKFAST AND CLEANED THE ROOM AND COMMUNAL AREA WHICH IS TASTFULLY DECORATED, vERY COMFORTABLE BED AND POWERFUL SHOWER. bREAKFASTIS CONTINENAL WITH FRESH PASTRY EVERY MORNING. SAFE AREA AND ANDREA ADVISED ON WHICH GALLERIES AND MUSEUMS WERE A MUST AND WHICH TO LEAVE OUT AS CHILDREN REACH MUSEUM FATIGUE EARLIER THAN ADULTS.
- AM (10/5): Fantastic - Loved it at B&B Locanderia. Room was spacious and so clean. The B&B is so close to the city centre and all the main tourist attractions. Great stay. I recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.
- Enuska (10/5): B&B Locanderia - The apartament we had was everything any traveler would want.
The kitchen was very well suplied (juice, coffee, milk, etc) All commodities were at hand.
The apartament was spacious, modern and very well appointed. We had safe free private parking spot and our houst
Andrea was attentive, informatve and friendly. Helped us with planning our sightseeing in a productive way that we could see most of the attractions in our short stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): B&B Locanderia - When we booked this hotel the pictures of the room were gorgeous, however it was evident as soon as we arrived that the room we were given was substandard to say the least.
The positives: The room was clean, there was toilet paper, we had a key and we were allowed to keep hold of the key until we were due to depart.
The negatives: Although we were met by someone on our arrival, her English was extremely poor and she only spoke very little Italian, this was a bit of a dilemma when we tried to clear up about local facilities etc, Light fittings in the toilet were not fitted to the wall, water ran down the back of the sink onto the floor, painting was not completed, there was nowhere to hang our clothes, there was no access to drinking water, there was no tea or coffee making facilities within the room, there was no fridge, no access to the communal lounge and to top the trip off we were unable to call a taxi from the B&B for our return trip to the airport.
When we rechecked our booking, it was evident that this was NOT the room we booked.
- Colin (8/5): - Excellent location for visiting historic Rome, easy walk to sites. Very friendly and helpful staff providing information on Rome and organising taxi's and transport as required. Room comfortable and access was flexible. Would use again.
- the davister (6/5): Great for a short break on a budget - B&b is close to the colloseum area with some great restaurant's and bars which were recommended by the b&b owner andrea. The station and city centre was walking distance
We had a room for 4 people. a double bed, a sofa bed and a camp bed. All beds were comfy except the camp bed due to wooden slats falling onto the floor on 2 nights as we slept.
Faciloties including breakfast were good. The hotel was extremely clean. There was a secure compound to park in with limited spaces. The owner was very helpful and spoke good english.
The shower screen wasnt very secure so we accidentally flooded the bathroom taking a shower.
A good clean place to stay for those on a budget willing to walk a little to the sights
- Chickandbeast (8/5): Great place to stay in Rome - Andrea contacted us just before we were heading down to Rome to make sure we had directions and coordinate the time so that he would be there to meet us. Getting through Rome wasn't too bad but gets a little tricky as you get within a couple of mins to the B&B. Of course our GPS didn't have the recent changes to one way streets LOL
We were able to navigate around the streets and found the B&B very very close to the Colosseum. Parking was available on the secured street outside of the hotel so this was great for convenience.
Andrea was there to meet us, showed us the room and sat with us to explain the area and give us tips on where to go. The room was great, well decorated, spacious, a small bathroom and had everything we needed. A small breakfast area outside where Andrea prepared breakfast for us each day and was always available to chat. Breakfast was typical Italian with a Croissant, toast, juice, coffee, etc. Plenty to get the day started.
The B&B is located 5 minutes away from the Colesseum and close to most of the major attractions. It was an easy walk to everything, although we walked all day to see as much as we could during our stay. Even the Vatican is within walking distance. We parked the car for the duration, had access to public transportation but found it easier to walk everywhere.
There are also some small catacombs very close by that you can venture down for 5 Euros, well worth seeing and much easier than the larger ones further out.
Easy access to shops,
- Pam n Warren (8/5): Rome on a plate - We walked & used buses & metro to access all that Rome has to offer. Andrea's helpfulness with city transport invaluable. His recommendation to a beautiful agriturismo stay in Amelia in Umbria was worth its weight in gold !
- June (6/5): A little unusual, but close to Colosseum & Forum - This is a former apartment or home, renovated into a small B&B. It's in an apartment building, and is a little hard to find, as others have noted. It is also essential to arrange your arrival time ahead with Andrea, because he is only there in the morning. So if you arrive unannounced later in the day, there won't be anyone there. We took the private car Andrea arranged for us from the airport, which was a great way to arrive. Vladmir, the driver, met us with bottled water and a great tour of the city as we drove in, and it wasn't much more than a cab (and was a flat fee). And he knew exactly where to arrive. Andrea, the owner, offers great restaurant recommendations, and is very helpful. The breakfast is all carbs, no protein, so be ready for that. It's a great location, and has a small common area you can eat in should you bring in groceries or take-away. There were four of us in the family room, which was a bit crowded (our kids are 9 and 13). But it is very hard to find a place that can fit four us in a hotel in Europe, so it was a great value for us. We even walked to Vatican City from there, but it's about 8 miles round trip probably.
- Maggie (10/5): Wonderful (uncomfortable) B&B - This is a great hotel despite not being comfortable at all. Andrea does everything he can to make your time in Rome as rewarding as possible and he succeeds magnificently. He came and found us while we were wandering around trying to find the B&B, made dinner reservations for us, helped us navigate to local attractions, and was the best host anyone could ask for. However, the mattress in our room was a rock, the pillows are thin, and the street noise comes through the walls at all hours. I honestly enjoyed every second of my time here but I'd definitely recommend this to someone who isn't planning on being in their room much. Still, I give Andrea 5 stars for hospitality and style. He absolutely makes staying here worthwhile.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, close to the city center - ....................................................................ok.......ok.................:)
- Toni (8/5): Rome trip - Stayed in Rome for 3 nights at Locanderia warmly welcome by Simone and his knowledge and help was imeasurable. The room was satisfactory but there is a lot of traffic noise which can interupt sleep on the whole had a good trip and would return but perhaps stay further out in quieter area.
- laura (10/5): Hidden jewel -
This was my first time in rome and it certainly won't be my last. This hotel was brilliant for my stay.
A few days before arrival we heard off Andrea via ema asking for an approximate time of arrival so someone could be there. This was lovely to have contact.
Luckily for me I had read reviews on here before hand about finding the building. It is well worth knowing the b&b isn't signposted at all but is written on an intercom. I have attached pictures of the building.
We were shown to our room and were slightly disappointed to see one double bed. I had booked a superior double which in the picture on Expedia had a sofa bed in there too. Marconi who showed us around said there was only double beds there. It was no main drama although I needed to share with my dad for 2 nights.
The room was clean and comfortable. There were free toiletries and towels.
The breakfast was a crosissant and toast with hot drink and juice. It was ample and very tasty. It filled me up til mid afternoon.
The walk to the colosseum was 10 minutes and a great location.
I will definitely stay here again and thank Simone, marco and Andreas dad for their help during the stay showing us where we could go and what's recommended on a short visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice - Great place with friendly staff, good breakfast, and spacious room. Our stay was very comfortable.
- Sandy (10/5): Great B&B very close to Colossuem - We had a wonderful experience at B&B Locanderia. We were greeted by a young man by the name of Simone and he was pleasant from the start. He was so helpful and full of knowledge. He spoke good English. Our place was only about a 8 minute walk from the Colossuem and the centre of Rome.
- Jamie (10/5): Great Stay - The hotel was great and the staff very friendly. We stayed there with a family of 4, and Andrea(the owner) had everything set up for us and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Rome. One thing that we didn't know before staying here was that they don't accept credit cards. Cash only. Which was a bit of an issue to get that amount of cash out. Overall, great stay.
- Paul (8/5): B&B in Colosseum neighborhood - This B&B met our expectations for a B&B. The room was large, but could use some more furniture, like a chest of drawers or such to set things on, instead of the floor. There was a closet for hanging clothes on hangers. The mattress was basic but in acceptable condition. The bathroom was small and needed a shelf or cabinet to set things on. The breakfast room was good and the host was there to set up for the continental breakfast. We used the wifi and an available computer. Our host provided useful information on sites to see, and how to get around, particularly concerning art and some local cafes. The location was close to Colosseum and also hop on/off buses, and also ready access to city buses and metro. The main train station was a 15 minute brisk walk. We used the hop on/off buses to get around the city to see the other main sites. We did not have a auto, which is good as parking is limited.
- Erman (6/5): Nice B&B close to Colloseum - It is on a private street for residents of the buildings on the street. Therefore you can find a parking spot there (we were charged €5/day). It is close to Colloseum and it is basic B&B as described in the hotel description. We found what we expected.
- Carlos (10/5): Great stay - We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean which was important because we went with our baby. The wifi was very good. It's close to the metro and colosseum. Overall I would recommend it here.
- Melissa (10/5): Rome - Really nice. Close to all tourist attractions. Walking distance to everything. The place is clean and privacy is a great factor. Andrea, the owner, is helpful and really nice.
- Marzena (8/5): Perfect location for city break - It's privately owned small B&B. Host is very friendly and gives all sort of advices:) the only negative thing we could think of was that there is no visible sign and we past by it twice before realising that the name is written only on the intercom. Perfect location 5 min to colosseum and 7 to metro station. Very nice continental breakfast that is served either in the kitchen or in your room. Nicely refurbished but a bit noisy due to old windows. Overall very satisfied guest:)
- ross (8/5): Hidden Gem - We spent two nights in April, in this hidden gem in Rome, only a short walk from the Coliseum, lovely little B&B, with a lovely host Andrea. A couple of little repairs require to the bathroom., a pleasent stay.
- Elin (10/5): Perfect location and service - A very cozy small B&B with the most amazing location and a fantastic manager that will everything to help you with whatever you need. The room we had had all you need for a weekend and the fresh breakfast in the morning is a nice way to start the day. Living minutes away from the Colosseum and walking distance to the whole city. You never need to use the bus or metro if you don't want to. Brilliant!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice B&B near by Colosseo. - Nice apartments with a great location. Very nice Host, very helpfull. Me and my wife recommend this place with all our heart.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great staff... - Rooms exactly as pictured.
- Katya (6/5): Small, nice, good mini-hotel - Small nice hotel with 3 rooms. Each room has restroom. Near with metro station and Colosseo. The staff consists of only one perfect boy Andrea. He is the cleaner and the cooker. The breakfast is completely enough.
So, it was good time in this hotel.
