Guest Reviews
- Emily (10/5): - Hands down our best stay during our trip to Greece! 100% recommend this hotel to get away from the hustle and bustle of Santorini but be within walking distance to a BEAUTIFUL stretch of beach with restaurants and bars all along. The highlight of our stay would have to be George — so incredibly friendly and helpful during our whole stay. Prior to coming, we read the other reviews mentioning him and we were still blown away by his service and attitude. We stan George 4ever!!!
- Manmeet (10/5): - My stay at Hotel Villa Markezinis was great. George was highly responsive, accommodating and helped make excellent choices for day touring. He helped to me book everything. The hotel itself was very quiet and a great low key space away if you're looking for a little escape. Great choice and value.
- Xia Ting (10/5): - George was waiting for our late arrival and explained throughly the stay (wifi, safe etc), he arranged hotel transfers & hire of ATV. Hotel location is perfect, 5 mins to beach with everything you need for a beach holiday (market, local buses to red beach & Fira).
Very comfortable spaces room - more than I expected ! Good working aircon, fridge minibar, shower, outdoor sitting, drying area, pool towels. Highly recommended.
- Karint (10/5): - George was the best! He helps us with everything! Smooth check in, great welcome drinks, great rooms, pool was super clean, great recommendations and the best he arrange our airport transfer. We will love to come again!
Superou as expectativas!
- Gilad (10/5): Stay here is a must - George was great.
Everything was phenomenal.
And cheap.
- Ela (10/5): - Helpful staff, peaceful location
- Andrew (10/5): - Great location a short walk to the beach and great value for money.
- George (10/5): - The owner is very helpful and went out of his way to help us and make us feel welcome.
- Dra Dulce (10/5): Buen hotel - Un muy buen hotel y precio accesible.
- janette (10/5): Good location good staff good facilities - Lovely big upper room with balcony
Great breakfasts and nice pool area.
Attention to detail and quality in services provided - eg large bath towels, toiletries, decent toilet paper, hairdryer.
Shout out to housekeeping - great job but maybe look at reducing linen changes and apparently recycle plastics/cans. Guest choice re linen changes could reduce costs and environmental impact.(ie daily not necessary)
Fridge in room with mini bar. euromarket busstop and supermarket <5 mins, likewise beach and main strip of restaurants from Perissa to Perivolos. Check out Lava taverna. Enjoyed a relaxing stay - thank you Konstantinos
- Quinn (10/5): - Konstantinos was super helpful and very nice. The accommodation was modern and nice looking. The pool was fantastic. About a 25 minute walk to Perissa but only a 5 minute walk to Black Beach. A really great spot if you want to be in a quiet area with a great beach and are happy to drive or catch transport to Thira / Oia. Would definitely stay here again.
- Chris (10/5): - This was a beautiful and quaint little spot with clean, spacious rooms and a stunning and secluded pool. The manager was very friendly, thoughtful and helpful. Breakfast was quick and delicious. Markezini (the cat) was adorable even if she was mostly too hot to move!
Pulizia eccellente, colazione altrettanto, piscina eccezionale.
- Jill (10/5): - Loved this stay!
- Brian (10/5): Great hotel near the beach with friendly service - A small but great hotel close to the beach. The service was really great and really friendly. We arrived early and they made sure our room was cleaned fast so that we could get it before normal check in. A large pool was great.
- Ann merete (10/5): Langt bedre end forventet - Helt igennem dejligt sted, langt bedre standard end forventet og personalet var utrolig venligt
- Maya (10/5): - We had such an amazing stay at this villa! It exceeded our expectations especially for having such an affordable price. The place was very clean and private. The concierge helped us with everything. He made our experience so smooth and enjoyable. Such an amazing experience, we were so sad to leave. I definitely recommend this stay to anyone wanting to visit santorini.
- Steve (10/5): - Bel endroit. Réceptionniste attentionné. Belle piscine. Propreté. Douche parfaite. Beauté des lieux. Près de tout
- Amber (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Markezinis, George at receiption could not have been more helpful! Great recommendations on things to do and places to go, helped us with ATV rental and transfers to and from the airport. The hotel was cleaned to a great standard every day and the pool area was a lovely addition. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Santorini who wants to be close to the beach and only a short drive from the main cities.
- Melanie (10/5): - We had a great stay at Villa Markezinis, the front of desk staff George was great he was the nicest receptionist we have ever had. The location was nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend and would come back.
- Kiya (10/5): - Let me tell you about George!! Accommodating, thoughtful, knowledgeable and attentive. The rooms were incredibly clean and spacious and the pool was a great bonus. It is down the street from many restaurants and beach side taverns! Will definitely be coming back and would absolutely recommend!
- SigrunOsk (10/5): Amazing hotel - Everything was outstanding nothing to complain about.
- Jerame (10/5): - Staff was great! Very convenient and short walk to beach.
- Kristin (10/5): - This property was beautiful and the staff was so nice and helpful! I am so glad I stayed there.
- teresa (10/5): - George was very helpful. The hotel and pool are kept up nicely.
- Jillian (10/5): - It was very clean, and close to beach, restaurants and retail stores! George was absolutely the best employee there! He was so accommodating and very kind! My sister and I will definitely be back! It was a dream vacation!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely property, close to the beach. Staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming and quickly dealt with any questions we had, if i could have i would have stayed much longer here! Thank you for your hospitality!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great people and great venue i would go back thank you
- JAVIERCAZARES (10/5): - EL ESTABLECIMIENTO ES INCREIBLE, VIAJE ALGUNOS DIAS POR LAS ISLAS DE GRECIA Y ESTE FUE EL MEJOR DE TODOS.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Sweet hotel, good location, great service
- Sophie (10/5): A great place to stay... brilliant breakfast! - Great staff, nice quiet location set back from the busy beach with good transport links.
Definitely recommend this place for value for money. We went into a near by hotel which was 4* and we were shocked compared as to how bad it was compared to Villa Markezinis.
Ps... ADD BREAKFAST TO YOUR BOOKING!
- Yeny (10/5): Santorini white villa - I loved villa markezinis I wish I could stay longer. Very close to the beach. the Staff was very kind.and helpful. The place is very clean and charming. I'm definitely going back.
- Lorna (10/5): Haven in heaven - Another wonderful trip to the Markezinis. Mary, Maria and Kostas cannot do enough to make you happy and welcome. The rooms are spotless with everything you need, breakfasts choice has expanded this year with some great additions. Sad to leave as ever but will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The pool area is absolutely beautiful! Both Mary and Konstantinos were very welcoming and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable.
- John (10/5): - I can not say enough good about this hotel. It was clean, quaint and so relaxing. The staff is top notch and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. It is off the beaten path but still close enough to the beach and many restaurants. Mary at the front desk was fabulous. I hope to return next year.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Would highly recommend to people Mary and Kosta are great hosts. Very lucky to book this property. Awesome facilities and great location.
- Kaitie (10/5): - Very friendly & helpful staff! Close walk to the beach, a market at the corner, and convenient breakfast at the hotel. Big & nice room, nice bathroom, everything we needed. Beautiful pool area.
- Brandon (10/5): - Mary at the front desk was very kind and helpful. She gave excellent service and went above and beyond my expectations!
- Mo (10/5): - Super friendly staff. They allowed us a late check out at no charge. I've had the best feta cheese at breakfast in that hotel!
- stuart (10/5): Perfect chill out hotel - Kostas, Maria and Mary were wonderful throughout our stay, Mary was lovely, friendly, helpful and always smiling. Thank you!
Breakfasts was perfect, rooms are clean, pools a nice size, in general a really lovely chill out hotel. We really loved staying here, Santorini is not cheap but this hotel is excellent value for money for what we paid.
- DEREK (10/5): Santorini's secret - Best service ever from Mary and her staff. Every query answered without issue. Very relaxing location and great value for money.
- William (6/5): Nice hotel but lacked service - After having been in Imerovgli I was eager for the same level of service even if the hotel was not the same calibre. Wanted a stay that was easy access to beach which it was and was friendly with service...which it was not. I have been to many hotels and am quite patient with service for things out of their control. I got the immediate impression i was an inconvenience by the way i was met by the guy at the desk...like i was interrupting something. The room was nice although it did have some ants but hey...it is an island. The thing that got me was getting coffee on the checkout day. I went to ask for cappucino...waited for almost 15 minutes and tild it would be brought to the room. 20 minutes or so went by and no coffee so i went back to inquire only to be notified after he served another couple tables that the machine was broken. Are you kidding me. How about a call to the room or another option on the spot to rectify the situation. Nope. Asked for simple coffee and ended up taking back to room myself anyways. Silver lining is that he never charged me for coffee but seriously bad service and unfriendly welcome and departure. First time i had encountered this on the trip and was disappointed. Will still go back to Perissa area but any future thought of me going here again is gone. So many other options where I am sure the guests feel welcomed. Beautiful beach though.
- Colin (10/5): lovely small hotel/guesthouse - We stayed at Villa Markezinis for 7 nights in Sept 2017. The hotel is small with a personal and attentive service from Mark the owner. It is only 11 rooms and we never saw more than 6 or 7 other guests by the pool or at breakfast. Our room was very spacious (upstairs, room 101) with a lovely large bathroom and outdoor terrace with seating. The room and hotel were immaculate. For the money, this really is exceptional value. There is also a large fridge in the room which was ideal. Personally, a small kettle and some tea/coffee would have been nice - but Mark happily made fresh coffee each morning and made me a cuppa by the pool late one afternoon. The hotel is a 5 to 10 min walk from the beach and a whole host of restaurants. We dined as both Notes and Restaurant 41 which are the "fine" dining options - both were very good but Notes was the clear winner. Highly recommend. There is also a great beach bar called Yaz where we ended up drinking far too many cocktails and danced away the evening. We easily took the bus to both Ora and Fira (bus stop less than 3 mins from the hotel) and my girlfriend and I both agreed that whilst Ora and Fira were pretty and the traditional Santoroni towns from the pictures they were busy and we much preferred the quieter situ of Villa Markezinis. In short, this is an ideal base for Santorini and exceptional value. It is not a 5* hotel - but its not trying to be - this is trying and succeeding at being a small perfectly formed guest house.
- Yvette (10/5): Little gem in Perivolos - This small hotel look recently renovated, everything is cool and sleek, modern design. Spacious, comfortable room - looks like those expensive rooms you book in Oia for hundreds of dollars. Infinity type pool and lounge area, with the bar, relaxing music - really cool and expensive looking when in fact it is not. Beach (one day beautiful crystal clear water, next day a bit windy a tad murky) is literally 5-7 mins walk down the street. Good, reasonably priced food by the beach at Charlena's restaurant - you eat/drink there, you get a use of free umbrella, two lounge chairs on the beach right in front of restaurant. Markos at front desk polite, helpful, fluent English. Wifi and A/C worked great. Overall very satisfied.
- Melissa (10/5): Amazing Stay - Thank you for this lovely week we spent in Villa Markezinis. Everything was just perfect, thanks to Mark who made our stay so special!
- Lorna (10/5): Fanastic place with fantastic staff. - We ahd the most fantastic holiday at Villa Markezinis. The room and grounds are kept spotless. The pool is beautiful, with great views and so quite. The location is perfect for going to both the restaurants / beaches at Perrisa and Perivolos. This is our 3rd time in Santorini and our best hotel yet. Looking forward to getting back again next year!
- Steph (10/5): Great stay - We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants. The room was incredibly clean and Mark was great. Would go back again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Paradise - Awesome! The only word to describe this hotel. The accommodations are superb! One of the cleanness hotels I've stayed at. The hotel is exactly as shown in the pictures. The rooms are clean and cozy. The pool area is a great spot to hang out. Mark the guy who runs the place is so helpful and pretty much does anything you need. If you need breakfast or just a drink by the pool they provide these services. The hotel is right next to the bus stop which makes it easy to get around and it's only a 5 minute walk to the beach.... not any beach the black sand beach which is geogeous. Highly recommend this place it's perfect and fits every need.
- Joe & Lucy (10/5): Wedding stay & micro-moon - We can't express enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. Mark & Mary were beyond helpful, going out of their way to help & even leaving us a beautiful surprise on our wedding night. The hotel is very clean & peaceful, which was a welcome relief. The room was large and came with a terrace overlooking the pool, perfect for entertaining.
- Adriana (10/5): - The room and hotel was very cute, clean, comfortable and very pleasant design
- L (10/5): One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! - I cannot fault Villa Markezinis. The staff are incredible, the rooms are spacious and immaculate and it's about 100m from the bus stop!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful hotel - We had a great stay here, the hotel is tasteful and modern with great facilities. The pool is gorgeous and just a few minutes from the beach. The area is very quiet and peaceful. Mark was enormously helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
- Lily (10/5): WE LOVE VILLA MARKEZINIS!!! - We loved Villa Markezinis from day one! This was more than your average hotel stay, it was super chilled out and like staying at your friends place for the week. Quiet and clean pool area, even during high season in July. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious (huge balcony with great views of the village). The Wi-Fi was super fast. Delicious home cooked breakfasts to order, very fresh and good portion sizes.
We highly recommend using the hotels private airport shuttle (at a surcharge.) Our flight was unfortunately delayed for a few hours and our driver kindly waited for us, beating the taxi queues and extortionate fares.
A special mention goes to Mark, the hotel manager for his kindness and humble Greek hospitality, as well as some great restaurant recommendations in the area (Ntomatini). He was on hand daily to help with any requests and made sure our week was enjoyable. Great value for money!
Thank you again for a special birthday breakfast and gift! We will definitely be back in the future, maybe during low season as the main towns Fira and Oia can be very busy and touristy. Don't be lazy and do the hiking trail from Fira to Oia, we promise you the views are far more incredible than being in Oia itself : )
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel, run by great staff - This is a small hotel, walking distance to Perivolos beach which is a black sand beach. The sand gets hot so need water shoes. There are a lot of restaurants on the beach you can pick and choose from.
- Jenn (10/5): Good price and excellent service - Nice, small hotel. In a quieter area but very close to walk to the beach, market, restaurants, etc. Mark was very kind and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to all!
- Filippo (10/5): Great stay and great value: kudos!!! - Couldn't have been better....
- nicola (10/5): Nice and quiet - Helpful staff and beautiful clean room. The pool area was gorgeous and not too busy in early June. 10 mins walk away from bars and restaurants situated on the beach front. A lovely area of santorini to stay
- Joe & Lucy (10/5): Holiday of a lifetime - Words can not express how happy we were with our stay at Villa Markenzini. The staff we incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our time in Santorini. Nothing was too much hassle. The room was clean and spacious, and as the Villa is set back from the beach it was also very peaceful. 100% certain we will return here in the future!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value for money!! - One night in Santorini but wish we stayed longer at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had the best sleep ever. If you are not taking the bus no issues at all. Bus arrives every 30-45 mins.
- Dale (10/5): Perfect stay - Stayed for six days and found it very quiet, relaxing, clean and had an awesome pool. It had a friendly atmosphere with great food and drinks at great prices. Staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to make us feel more welcome they made us feel very happy with our choice to stay there. We would not hesitate to go back.
- Annika (10/5): highly recommend!! - Unbelievable place. We loved it. Beautiful, calm, clean, and in an amazing location. The staff was extremely warm and friendly. Highly recommend!!
- JANE (10/5): Top of the range for a budget hotel - Done up in a tranquil modern style, Villa Markezinis offers comfort at a very reasonable price. Everywhere is spotless, the staff go out of their way to be helpful and details such as the way breakfast is served and the reliable transfer to and from the airport/ferry (although not cheap at 25 E each way), put this small hotel in a different league from others in the same price bracket. It is conveniently situated, being only a 5 minute stroll from the beach and a wide choice tavernas, but the hotel's own pool and sun loungers were just as tempting.
- Abdullah (10/5): Nice hotel close to the beach - Wonderful overall. The rooms were nice and big, the washroom facilities were very good. It had the perfect blend of modern amenities and traditional classic feel/theme. The swimming pool was big and well maintained. The staff was knowledgeable about the area and advised us to a private style beach which was well worth it. Could easily go to the beach and return back to room for a quick change of clothes for the evening, very good location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Santorini with a smile. - Loved it. Great staff, beautiful grounds and pool. Really close to the beach and restaurants. Wished we could have stayed longer.
- jj (8/5): Quiet place - Good location, very clean room, nicely staff members, so we had spent the relaxing times in this hotel.
If there's the kettle, perfect!!!!!
- Katrina (10/5): Lovely B&B - Really nice place. Very clean and well maintained. It's only a small B&B so nice and quiet and very often you have the pool to yourself. The pool is beautiful and it's only a short walk to the beach. The place is made even better by the wonderful staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay without being intrusive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nicely located to beach, bus stop and supermarket. - We stayed here for five and found everything to be near enough perfect. The room, the pool and the staff was first class and the attention to detail was second to none. The staff could not do enough for us, making sure everything was ok. Would definitely recommend it but would like to keep it a secret at the same time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fabulous small hotel - From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. 5 minute walk to the beach and restaurants/bars, 2 minute walk to the local shop and bus stop. Room was cleaned and new towels provided every day. We also stayed in Fira during our trip and we much preferred Perissa. We paid more than double for the hotel in Fira and it was no where near as good as Markezinis, this place is a gem.
- Aaron (10/5): Great place to stay!!! - Me and my girlfriend stayed at Villa Markezinis for 7 nights and had a wonderful and memorable time there. The owners and the staff were all very nice and extremely attentive. Always willing and happy to help with any queries. They just did all the little things that just help to make your holiday experience so much more enjoyable, they even came out to the pool to give us complementary fruit salads because of the hot weather! The standard room we stayed in was nice, very clean as it was cleaned everyday, comes with air con too which was very nice considering the climate in Santorini. Wifi is free as well in your room and by the pool, which is always quiet and peaceful to relax by in the sun. Location is also a big plus, 5 minute walk to the beach where there are many restaurants and bars, plus other activities such as scuba diving and jet skiing. Only a couple of minutes walking distance from the bus stop which takes you straight to Thira. And a Euromarket and a supermarket within walking distance too. Was a really good find and at an extremely reasonable cost. Would definitely come back here if we ever returned to Santorini and would recommend to others!!!
- Tim & Cheryl (10/5): To the moon and back service - The friendly service was first class and sincere. Will certainly stay again and cant wait to return. Very clean, great location and the perfect size for a peaceful relaxing holiday.
- Tim & Cheryl (10/5): Friendly Staff - Could not have wished for more. friendly and caring staff
- Gordon (10/5): Do yourself a favour, amazing place to stay! - We stayed here for 2 weeks in June when we got married and had an amazing time at Villa Markezinis, it real did make a great holiday that little bit better. Jenny and Stavvi (the girls who take care of the place ) were very helpful and friendly, my wife's car didn't show up to take her to the wedding so Stavvi drove her there herself. The whole place has such a friendly vibe, by the end of the holiday we knew almost everyone at the hotel. The facilities and rooms were immaculate, if you are planning on staying here I recommend asking for room B1 or B2 as these have their own private balcony looking over the pool. If we ever came back to Santorini we would definitely stay hear again, can't speak highly enough about it.
- Sharon (10/5): Best Pool Ever! - Great base to use to explore the island. Staff at the villa are amazing and go out of their way to help you in any way possible. Great value for the room and great location, 5 mins from the beach and 1 minute from the local bus stop and mini market. They have the best pool in the area. The villa is beautifully presented and well maintained. The whole place just looks beautiful and the pool was my favourite.
- Leah Lee (10/5): Excellent place to stay!!!! - It was excellent place to stay. Clean and quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Close to the beach and bus station(less than 5mins). Me and my friend love this hotel. I definitely will stay in this hotel if I visit here again!!!
- Aaron (8/5): Great little hotel - Great little hotel, clean, comfortable, quiet with a very nice pool. Located in perivolos which is about 40 minutes from Fira by bus that runs regularly all day. 15minute easy walk to nice beaches with loads of restaurants and bars and sunbeds. Would stay here again.
- orlando (10/5): The best place to stay in Santorini - I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone. The staff is really kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy. It's a 5 minutes walk from one of the best beaches in Santorini. 2 minutes from the bus stop that takes you to Fira, Oia and Akrotiri ( We didn't see the point to have a car, the bus takes you everywhere in just a few minutes more).
We had breakfast every morning in the hotel. It is delicious.
Just 10 minutes walk from the hotel there are many restaurants and shops.
Definitely I'll book this hotel again next time I'll go to Santorini.
