Maria (7/5): - Unfortunately the last 4 days of our 11 day stay were spoilt by the apartments next door being demolished for renovation. The noise started at 7.15 am and was heard all day until about 3pm. We had to leave the apartment for the whole day each day. Compensation of $200 was insufficient.

Hayley (6/5): - View was absolutely incredible, you couldn't beat it. The penthouse had stairs directly to the rooftop. The reception staff was very friendly and welcoming. The pool, whilst small, was refreshing. Proximity to the beach was fantastic! The room felt a bit dated and wasn't as clean as I would like. Hairs were found on the couch cushion and in the rolled up fresh washers in the bathroom. The entire tiled floor had a sticky oily residue presumably from the mopping. You simply couldn't walk barefoot on the tiles and feel comfortable.

Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Arrived very late after check in time. Someone was there to hand me the keys. Room is fantastic, right on the corner overlooking the promenade, well worth the extra $. All the facilities needed for a week's stay if you can. Great location, handy for food, drink and entertainment. Nothing major. The receptionist did say when I rang to say we were running late they would send a code for locked box outside but I got neither SMS or Email. All good in the end.

Christian (9/5): Absolute Waterfront - hier ist der Name Programm ❤️ - Ein komplettes Appartement, wie man zu Hause vorfindet. Sehr sauber, sehr gut eingerichtet. Von Küchenausstattung bis hin zu Waschmaschine und Trockner. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Blick auf das Wasser! Es war sehr ruhig! Auch die Angestellten waren sehr zuvorkommend, haben die Garage erklärt, in der das Auto parken konnte. Hier und da könnte die Wohneinheit einen neuen Anstrich bekommen - aber das ist wahrscheinlich nur mir aufgefallen, weil ich aus der Branche bin.

I was very happy that La Promenade was very assistive with the whole process. The place was beautiful and I would highly recommend staying here.

Leigh (5/5): Plain, old, in need of a good clean up/update - Location was really good. Room size was great. Undercover parking was a bonus, though an episode. Check in staff were very blaise. Parking was a bit of a nightmare originally with the outdoor space allocated to me taken up by other vehicles each of the 6 days. After some to and fro with the check in staff I was allocated an undercover space. Then after 2 days started receiving messages to remove my car as new check ins were allocated that space. By the time I was back from enjoying my day touring around, I was told it was ok as they were using the space next to me. Why all the hoo-ha then. It was unit about 8 feet extra to walk. 🤷‍♂️. The pool was not much bigger than my backyard spa at home and they're was ridiculous loud music over speakers outside my room all day every day and the desk was often unattended (luckily, the lack of onsite facilities meant that I went out most of the time so didn't have to endure the music too much - but need to be aware of others). Sometimes people want to sleep in past 8am to 9am on holiday.

Lisa (8/5): Good for a short overnight. - Great location, booked executive roof top apartment. Booking through booking.com for 2 adults and a 9 year old. Booked a one bedroom executive apartment which booking.com said would accommodate all guests. On arrival into the room there was one bed and no extra bedding or extra bed. As the apartment is not staffed after 5pm and clearly states that only extreme emergencies should the mobile number be rung or get fined we just made do. Luckily it was only a one night booking and the sofa wasn’t overly comfy.

Kristine (4/5): In desperate need of serious maintenance. - Amazing location, great food within walking distance, and views. Unfortunately it was mouldy, roof in front of aircon vent was mouldy, shower was mouldy, aircon had to be turned off - I assume not clean and releasing either mould and/ or dust. I had to sit out on the balcony when we were at the apartment as if I sat inside I would sneeze uncontrollably. Itchy eyes and nose. Was difficult to sleep. Unfortunately we also had people staying above us that were so noisy all night. Overall it is very rundown, furniture rusted and falling apart. Not what I expected for the price we paid. Didn’t mind the building was older however it should still be clean and free from mould in the shower, and roof in bedroom, with clean usable aircons. The musty smell covered with strong chemical/air scents was too overpowering. Aircon instructions to not but below 23deg or the floors above/ below will become wet. Perhaps why it’s mouldy.

Elaine (8/5): A perfect spot for a quiet getaway. - Perfect position for easy walking access to town as well as absolute waterfront accommodation. Amazing views. Very nice unit with all that you need and Lovely decor. The patio is ideal for spending a great deal of time by the water relaxing. We even had a turtle feeding along the rocks outside our patio. The lounge not very comfortable for watching TV and had a rip in the seat, The patio chairs were fine for a coffee or a meal, but not comfortable for extended periods of sitting. It is the perfect spot to relax for any length of time so it would have been nicer to have a more comfy chair. This is not really a complaint, just an observation, it was only a short stay so we made do and still enjoyed it.

Tired bathroom. you need to take everything including extra toilet paper as the room was not serviced during our 6 night stay! No hob in the kitchen made cooking a bit limited. Roof space not used as the BBQ was dirty and limited furniture there was no point going up there. However the balcony and location made up for the other bits

Kool (3/5): Incredibly disappointing - The location was amazing! You could not get better views Check in was average. Asked for an early check in due to interstate visitors and short window for visit, not accommodated. Had to pull dining table out to verandah so we could sit and enjoy the view. Outdoor furniture was a 2 piece rusted, unsafe set. The third chair was on balcony off 2nd bedroom, also completely rusted and unsafe. Beds were terrible. Very uncomfortable. Single beds were unsafe and moved when sat on. Spa was only big enough for 1 person. When used the noise was terrible, sounded unsafe - honestly though I would be electrocuted if left on while I was in it.

I tried to turn the ac on the last night and it didn't work, but as it was the last night I didn't call for help. There was a loud whistle in the sliding glass doors to the balcony which I mentioned to the staff but it wasn't fixed. The kitchen didn't have many amenities.

There obviously was a damp, mould issue in the apartment which was covered up by a very strong sickly perfume. The popcorn roof was stained by water. Had a hairs in the shower. Needed refurnishing, very tired.

If I wasn't working and staying with a client I would hire the room again for ourselves The old single beds in the second room that I had to take because priority goes to the client ... We are retired Hotel/ Motel ~ Retirement Village Managers ... I am sorry but they have seen their days and it's time ... Felt like I was sleeping on a horse hair bed from the 1830's or earlier
Meg (10/5): Perfect place for a relaxing, no stress stay. - The location was magnificent. Wonderful to watch sunrise, sunset and the beautiful stars at night. It was also very quiet even though it was close to public amenities. Such a relaxing spot. Can't think of anything!

Jacqueline (1/5): Check you get the room you booked - The location looked great. The room we booked was not the room we got. Positively they agreed to totally refund. It is still not clear whether the fault was theirs or booking.com (as was asserted). The lady on the front desk was faultless. Her manager curt, although she agreed to refund. The fact we booked weeks ago and no one told us the room type was not available. We then could have booked something else and not be left roomless and stressed on our long awaited holiday.

Atara (1/5): Not what we paid for - Nothing, we were put in a completely different apartment The fact that we drove all the way to the sunny coast to have our trip turn upside down,were put in a completely diff apartment, to the point that we just left, refund took 3 weeks to get back to use and that was thanks to paying through paypal or we may have lost our money
Ian (8/5): A charming room with direct water views perfect for a weekend getaway. - This "water's edge" room (005) was comfortable and pleasantly decorated with a marine theme. The amenities were well set out with separate bathroom, laundry area and toilet - a good arrangement rarely found in hotel/motels. The hanging and shelf space was small but adequate, the bed comfortable and the kitchen well equipped with a full-size fridge. Most interesting was the spa bath located, not in the bathroom but in the main living area which enables guests to watch television while relaxing in the bath. And, being on the ground floor, the sliding patio doors open directly out onto a lawn area only metres from the water. The adjacent cafe is also a perfect place for breakfast. A perfect couples' getaway room. There are no fences of barriers dividing the grassed patio area so it would be possible for a guest to walk along and see into other people's rooms. - not that there was any incidence of this. Also, the louvres on one of the sliding louvre doors which serve as blackout curtains would not close into the locked vertical position which created a slight privacy problem - requiring an improvised solution (a broom propped against the louvres). Otherwise everything was good.

No 5 th bedroom and tried to say we had to pay extra for the rollaway bed, essentially suggested was my fault even thou I stipulated on booking request the number of people and paid accordingly. Coming out of lift on level 2 onto building paper on the floor, dusty etc . Apartment rusty fixtures, plaster pulling away from walls, overall very disappointing
Steven (4/5): Uncomfortable and disappointing. - Location & view Air conditioning didn’t work all week. Very uncomfortable nights even with doors and windows open (which had no screens either, letting in insects and birds) the initial staff member at least offered us a fan, however the other staff members when I asked if any progress on getting it looked at just said they didn’t know and have sent an email. No genuine attempt was made to rectify the situation, very disappointing. Also the floor was covered in sand on arrival and the spa pump was very noisey and about to blow up. We won’t be returning and recommending the same to others.
Adrian (2/5): Would not reccomend or stay again. - Location is great. Very loud music playing on the floor in foyer area. Very plain and dated inside, outdoor area quite dirty looking or more rundown I guess.
Moogie (4/5): Have stayed many times but this was the worse room we have ever had in 15 years - The view is amazing, best location on Bulcock Beach. The room very disappointing. Rusty outdoor furniture, no clothes dryer it was broken, power in room went off, back of remote missing, rug very dirty, mould in shower and toilet, floors not clean, the noise from room 202 which is being refurbished from 9am to 4 pm, we should have been told that this was happening before we booked. We could not relax and needed to go out and did not have the enjoyment of the view and the room. Couch is bent in the middle, chairs are scratched and missing paint, no basket pegs or cloths airer, Paid to much for a 2-star accommodation. Complained when we arrived but nothing was done and we were offered a 5% discount when we come back. We have had that offer for years. That would not make me come back.
Ann (10/5): A glorious short break allowing plenty of walking as well as plenty of relaxation. - The view from my unit was exceptional - right on the waterfront, with a view of the quiet water as well as the surf. Everything i needed was very close, easy walking distance, from morning coffee and breakfast below the units to exceptional fish and chips take away near by and a plethora of restaurants. The staff were also exceptional in their willingness to make sure everything was suitable and my needs were met. And the private rooftop bbq facilities were wonderful I have no complaints at all.

Learoyd (1/5): Not what you get - We didn't get to stay as they had moved us to another motel which was not as advertised and we were not informed. The room was not ready we had to wait nearly 2 hrs after checking in to access room. No lifts or spa in other motel, husband has bad knee which they knew about and carrying our luggage up 3 flights of stairs was impossible.We were promised a full refund still fighting for this to happen. This was 2nd time this had happened to us at this location. It is not what is advertised, they blamed this site!! They told us to book directly, will never stay here again.

I would definitely stay again but - Such a convenient location and the spa in the room was terrific. The unit was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure was amazing, the shower was like my own personal massage. The cafe downstairs had a wonderful outlook over the water and the coffee and food was really good and well priced. I would definitely stay again and book an oceanview room.
Lucinda (1/5): Do not stay here we were robbed and had the worst experience ever - Location DO NOT STAY HERE!! We had absolutely the worst experience getting broken into and robbed while we were asleep. Even before that horrible experience the room was below par. Extremely dirty, mold on ceiling near air con, not allowed to touch or adjust aircon, dirty towel found in bedroom drawer, timber rotten around spa, dirty dishes in cupboards, pool was FILTHY and cloudy, garage door broken so no secure parking and anyone from the street could go in straight up lifts, no security camera on first floor where we were broken into, no deadbolt on door, fire doors and front entrance left open. When we realised we'd been robbed the whole thing was so poorly handled by passive aggressive management. We went straight to the police and reported the incident and checked out immediately as we didn't feel safe. Management partly blamed us saying we had left the door to the apartment open (which we definitely had not). Told this was what the police said, but we spoke directly to the investigators and they said that was absolutely not the case. We honestly believe it could have even been an inside job. We had to fight for a refund for the early departure. Took A WHOLE MONTH and countless emails (many which were absolutely ignored and never replied to) for them to FINALLY process the refund. We were told a refund had been approved on December 31 but after chasing it up for weeks!! it was found not to actually have been put through until January 28. Simply not good enough. We were so upset as we'd been looking forward to our Christmas break but instead spent the time worrying about mold and getting broken into then treated poorly. Such a shame as the location is great. Apartments are individually owned so obviously the owners of the until we stayed in haven't maintained it and the cleaning was awful. Disgusting experience all round. Stay elsewhere and avoid at all costs.
