Guest Reviews
- CHARLES DUNCAN (8/5): - We enjoyed access to the jacuzzi and pool, our balcony, sitting areas around the property, the small complementary wine bottle upon our arrival, but staff seemed overworked and unhappy, cleanliness left much to be desired, including coffee stain left on the wall and no housekeeping services.
- Joanne (10/5): - Stayed at this hotel for one night only because it was closing for major makeover. Would have stayed longer. It was very comfortable and we had a beautiful vineyard view. The breakfast was delicious and the pool very inviting. Would love to return when it reopens.
- Deborah (10/5): Great little gem of a place - We have stayed at this property before and that’s what brought us back. This time we stayed in one of their spacious cottages. We enjoyed our private patio and beautiful views. The room could use a little updating, but was very clean and comfortable. The “free” breakfast was very delicious and better than most hotels have to offer. We will definitely be back!
- Luis (10/5): - Had an incredible time with my family! Great place to stay! Clean and great service!
- Janine (10/5): Wonderful stay - Beautiful surroundings, stunning location, delicious breakfast, extremely comfortable room and balcony area.
- Roger (10/5): - Sad to hear it is closing
- Loredana (10/5): - This place was better than I imagined, so beautiful and being able to walk around the vineyard was a great treat.
- Danielle (10/5): - Peaceful, clean property with a great room and breakfast in the morning
- Rick (8/5): - The property was well landscaped and had a great view. It was nice just to walk the grounds. The breakfast was spectacular!!
They offer many options to type of room.
The room was lovely and spacious.
AC unit quit working. Not as isolated noise-wise as I would like.
- Win win (10/5): - Beautiful and friendly people
- Kevin (6/5): - Beautiful location and property. The room was spacious but nothing great. Disappointed that there was no restaurant/bar on property
- Crystal (8/5): - The property and room were gorgeous and comfortable. I gave a lower score because the front desk staff was incredibly unfriendly and did not seem to care to be helpful, acting annoyed when questions were asked or asking for assistance. We booked through hotels.com. We brought dogs with us and when we checked in the response with irritated tone was, “you have dogs?” This is supposed to be a dog friendly b&b. Why the negative vibe? When I asked if we could get the beds that come with the dog package, the response back was “do you need them?” Why is that your response? We are paying for this, why question the need? We will return but hope the staff will be more pleasant by then.
- Leah (10/5): - Lovely little place in St. Helena. Loved the pool- refreshing after long Napa day. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Affordable stay in serene setting - Quiet and peaceful stay tucked away in the vineyards. The vineyard-view room with a terrace is worth it. An adorable and friendly cat welcomes you in the pool area. Only downsides are: (1) there is no on-site restaurant or bar so you have to drive to town for food/wine, (2) there is no spa, (3) there is no on-site concierge (even tho the ad says otherwise) and the staff is not very helpful about recommending restaurants or things to do/see in the area, so do your own research ahead of time.
- Archie (10/5): - Beautiful property especially the outdoor views of the surrounding vineyards. Very nice pool area. Quiet and peaceful. Sitting on the swing overlooking the vineyard watching the sun set while sipping on wine perfect!! Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. They could improve the house keeping by coming everyday, instead of every three days.
- Andrew (10/5): - Zz
- Doreen (10/5): Repeat visitor - This is our third stay. Everything is clean, quiet and the staff is friendly. We love it there! We look forward to our next trip!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, nice view, bad service/room - Upon arriving early around 2pm asking to check in, the front desk person was quick to say we can only check in at 4pm with an unfriendly tone. Maybe she was having a bad day. We were provided with a room in the main building that’s renovated with big bathroom, but very little counter space and with a barn door that doesn’t want to stay shut. There’s nice outdoor dining and lounge areas with nice views of the vineyard, but staff do not often clean them, which makes for not the most pleasant experience. We booked the room at a typically higher price and was expecting same value of service for the amount we paid for at almost $700 per night but didn’t feel we got the value we paid for compared to cheaper places we’ve stayed and offered more value for our money. The positive about staying at the inn is the location. It’s close to wineries and to the vine trail. In summary, we won’t be coming back to the inn.
- Stacy (6/5): Just okay. - This place was okay, but not better than that. The beds are very comfortable, towel/linens clean, and the pool on this property is a real treat! Breakfast was fine. We had a nice stay. That said, lots of small things were off: the jacuzzi jets were broken (this was a real bummer for us). At breakfast, the coffee at breakfast was cold and my husband found ants swimming in his orange juice. Our room had random garbage left on the floor (missed by housekeeping?) Nothing serious, but several small things which was a bit of a letdown at this price point. Staff was not unfriendly, but not friendly either. It was just okay.
- Thomas (10/5): - Very clean. Staff was polite and hospitable.
- Christina (10/5): - Beautiful property. Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Superior bedding and good breakfast with fresh fruit. Aileen really rescued our day when we arrived after having luggage stolen and she went out of her way to turn a bad day into a brighter one.
- nahia (10/5): - We loved this place! We’ll go back.
- Wolfgang (10/5): Beautiful quiet retreat in Napa! - We stayed at the main building and it was just lovely. Clean throughout, the room was large and comfortable. The grounds are exquisite, although we did not use the pool it was really nice. Would stay there again.
- Tram (10/5): - We spent 2 nights at this cute bed & breakfast. The property was very well kept and we had such a peaceful stay! The complimentary breakfast was a plus! All in all we were very satisfied and would definitely stay here again.
- Ari (8/5): - Great hotel in St. Helena
My only issue was with cleaning the room. Their policy is to refresh rooms every other day which is fine but aside from fixing the bed and replacing towels they did not do anything else.
They left all empty wine and water bottles and they did not replace hand soaps these are little minor things but they make the difference.
Anyways it is a lovely property to stay for a few days in the wine country.
- Matthew (10/5): - Cannot say enough good about this inn. From the facilities to the staff to the food, everything was top notch. Was there 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. I would recommend it to everyone. What a wonderful place!
- Scott (10/5): - Property is beautiful. Set in the middle of a vineyard. Room was spacious and peaceful. Cleanliness was very good. We will be back
- Marlene (10/5): - This property was beautiful and peaceful with amazing amenities . Breathtaking views. The only thing I would recommend is that the pool and jacuzzi need remodeling. A bit outdated .
- Summer (10/5): - Had a wonderful getaway to St.Helena for a couple of nights. We loved how close the property was to town and walking distance to a local winery (Freemark Abbey) the pool and hot tub were very nice. Will definitely return.
- Irena (10/5): - This place is a gem . The front staff is super friendly and helped me with early check in . The place is quintessential and the views of the vineyard are breathtaking. Everything is done right . Would recommend to everyone . Worth every dime you pay for it !
- Cassandra (10/5): - Beautiful, peaceful, romantic and a place to return to for sure!
- James (10/5): - Wonderful warm staff. Secluded and quiet. Gorgeous views.
- Karin (10/5): - Beautiful property and grounds, nice room on the top floor corner with balcony and lovely view. Friendly staff, tasty breakfast. One of our favorite places in Napa Vallet to visit!
- Kris (6/5): - Was just so so no wow factor.
- Maria (8/5): - Excelente service
- Wendi (10/5): Beautiful place - This is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful spot. Everything was amazing! The only downside is no elevator so you have to get your luggage up the stairs.
- Diane (10/5): - Close to areas I wanted to visit
- Larry (10/5): - Great place
- Sharon (10/5): - Great location!
- Shelbi (10/5): Can’t wait to come back - We already cannot wait to come back and enjoy the hotel more. We were there for a quick yeti and weren’t able to spend much time in the hotel but what we did get to enjoy was amazing. We were upgraded to one of the cottages and it was amazing!!!!!
- Raquel (10/5): - Nice and quiet
- Alon (10/5): - The place is clean. The bed is comfortable. The view is gorgeous. Lots of privacy super quiet. The breakfast was good. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room wasn't turned over properly. There was a half empty water bottle sitting on the dresser and food and drinks in the fridge from the last guest along with used wash rags in the shower. We let the front desk know at check out, and she said the manager would call us to make it right and we never heard from them. For $700/night we expected basic cleaniness.
- Lorraine (10/5): - SO love staying here!!
- Kris (8/5): - Enjoyed.
- sarahi (10/5): - Enjoyed the amenities the property offered. Pool, Jacuzzi, walked along the nature and nearby vineyards. Very peaceful and clean. Morning breakfast was simple and tasteful.
- Teresa (10/5): - The location is serene and tranquil. The grounds and landscaping are impeccably cared for. The view from our room was breathtakingly beautiful. We will most certainly share with family and friends!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice facility with a great location - We enjoyed our stay here and might be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and cozy - Enjoyed the view of the vineyards and surrounding property while it was drizzling outside. We were provided with complimentary wine and cozy robes. Planning on returning in the summer when the grapes are on the vines.
- agnes (10/5): - Perfect location
- Steven (10/5): - Such a beautiful property, well worth the price.
- Netsiri (8/5): - Breakfast period of time is too short
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible - Went to check in for my stay and was told that they didn’t have a room for me even though I booked it in December and then upgraded the room in January, as I was planning to get engaged that day. They didn’t bother to look for any open rooms and insisted I canceled the reservation but I showed them I never did and was charged for my stay. They then said I need to figure out where I’m staying because they can’t accommodate me and my fiancé.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and if you want to stay somewhere that has better service and rooms stay at the Harvest Inn. Harvest Inn accommodated us right away hassle free.
- tatiana (10/5): - View and balcony was awesome. Will definitely come back when weather is right. Breakfast was super good one and with view its located on a hill kinda. One minus ! Not sure but for some rea a on it was smth in a garbage bin near a table ( like when they cleaned forgot to clean the bin) and 2nd floor walk up - bear in mind
- Talia (6/5): - Good location in st. Helena. The room was big and comfortable but the corridor outside our room was dirty. I complained twice about the dirt but it seems no one cared to take an action on it. The dirty area we saw when we checked in was there when we checked out…
Breakfast is very basic.
Overall we expected much more for the price we paid. For a similar price we stayed in nicer hotels in the area.
- Brian (10/5): - Great location! 5 minute drive into downtown st Helena. Very peaceful. Great breakfast.
- William (10/5): Great place - Very nice place. Rooms are well designed and furnished. Grounds are great. Pool and spa very well maintained and warm even on a very cold winter day.
- Marcia (10/5): - Outstanding ... even in the rain!
- Laura (10/5): We will be back! - This is by far one of the better places we’ve stayed over the past three years. Only down side was the shower kept backing up. Once we reported it, they responded. It’s dog friendly, clean, quiet, and the staff is amazing.
- cindy (10/5): - quiet and beautiful
- Kabir (4/5): - Very unremarkable for the price. Not a luxurious property compared to others in its price range. Cottage was placed in the center of a parking lot. Spacious but unremarkable bathroom. Blase service. Woeful breakfast.
- jacob (10/5): - Quiet and quaint with excellent views. Large rooms at the inn.
- Gurpreet (6/5): - Rooms are NOT cleaned everyday. Rooms are very noisy.
Rooms were clean and well furnished. Location is excellent. parking is great along with EV chargers.
- Robin (10/5): - Beautiful property and friendly people
- Maria (8/5): - We loved the room, the cleanliness and the seating. Rooms seem recently renovated with high quality finishes. There is a restaurant close by called brasswood kitchen that we really enjoyed. The hotel staff also had a sweet welcome gift for us. The only downside for us was breakfast. It comes included with the room but it is the only thing that did not meat the expectation of a 4 star hotel. We ended up having breakfast out during stay even though breakfast is included. Overall I would stay here again. Just have the right expectation about breakfast.
- Carrie (10/5): - The cottage was spacious and clean. Celebrating our first anniversary and they provided us with some complementary champagne. Breakfast was delicious! Staff was very welcoming and friendly!
- David (10/5): - The property was well kept, very clean. The surroundings with the vines nearby and the color of the surrounding foliage was beautiful. We liked the St.Helena and Calistoga was only 15 minutes away in either direction.
- joseph (10/5): - Great hotel and although out of town it’s so close to nearby towns and vineyards. Breakfast great
- Tiffany (10/5): - The Wine Country Inn is a boutique style hotel that provides privacy and amazing vineyard and Mountain View’s. While you feel like you are in the secluded area while staying here, you are actually only 3-4 minutes away from downtown St Helena and 10 mins from Calistoga. I would highly recommend staying here.
- Denise (8/5): - Housekeeping was just every 3 days, and breakfast needs to be better.
- Michael (10/5): Reds, oranges, yellows, and greens - Beautiful fall views post harvest
- Kimberly (10/5): - Beautiful property in an ideal location if you are visiting wineries in St. Helena and Calistoga (which we were). Very spacious rooms and delicious hot breakfast.
- Irene (8/5): - Very nice property set in the country but close to both the Silverado Trail and Highway 29. Very nice breakfast. There were a few things that could have been better for a high-end property. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom. Coffee assortment did not include decaf. Just small things but they can make the difference between four and five stars.
- Jennifer E. (10/5): - Great views from balcony. Great location and very clean and cozy property
- Mark (6/5): - Nice property. Our room was on the lower floor of a duplex and we could hear walking above us constantly. Breakfast is good. No gym and little to no hiking trails on the property.
- Wing Hunn (8/5): - It’s off the main road so it’s quiet and the room was quite big and clean
- Jamie (10/5): - Great location! Very affordable. Loved the water feature on our patio.
- jong nam (10/5): GOOD - The hotel had the best accessibility and comfort.
- Guariynes (10/5): - Es un lugar perfecto para descansar y desconectarse, se puede disfrutar del silencio y apreciar la naturaleza.
- Sandra (10/5): Great location - Great location! Very nice hotel. They upgraded us, which is always nice!
- Jason (8/5): - Great location, great pool and beautiful setting
- Noreen (10/5): - Great place and late checking was easy.
- Geoffrey (10/5): Quite & Peaceful & Pleasant Place to Stay - Comfortable Beautiful Quiet Accommodating. A wonderful stay. I will be back again.
- Michael (10/5): - A great property with special views and beautiful rooms.
- Scott (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- Arnold (10/5): - This was our second stay and we enjoyed it immensely. The rooms are clean and spacious. We had a delightful view of vineyards and distant hills from the room and private balcony. The pool was like an oasis and almost ours alone. Breakfast is included and there is a good variety of fresh foods. It's a little pricey but overall a good value.
- Aida (4/5): - I think this property is not as advertised at all. For $750 it’s overpriced. Poor customer service, just one staff member to do everything, she is not likely to even acknowledge, smile or have a fun mood or anything. Property needs updating. Will not stay here ever again.
- Diane (8/5): - Beautiful surroundings. Private serene pool area. Close to town for dining and shopping.
- Matthew (10/5): - Great place! Friendly staff and great amenities, made our wedding/honeymoon trip very quaint and romantic.
- Catherine (10/5): -
It's clean, serene and beautiful. The staff is so great!
- Michael (10/5): - Excellence service, breakfast was great. Pool area was beautiful
- Stephen (10/5): - Would absolutely stay again. Great place to stay after wine tasting!
- Wendy (10/5): - Wine Country Inn property was lovely, like entering a serene garden. We loved the excellent buffet breakfasts. The location was convenient to where we wanted to visit in the area. The staff were competent and helpful.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Beautiful property. Rooms are very nice and comfortable.
- Gabriella (8/5): - Very clean best breakfast!!
- Jacqueline R. (10/5): - Beautiful location, large room with balcony overlooking hillside. Large complimentary breakfast each morning. Easy parking.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - A dream. Wonderful place.
- randy (6/5): - We had a ground floor room and heard a lot of stomping (not out of the ordinary) but floors were too thin. The views and the breakfast were amazing. We'd come back but not on the ground floor.
- Laura (8/5): - This property has great accessible units that are beautiful
- Gary (10/5): - Beautiful rooms with great views
