Guest Reviews
- Christopher (10/5): - Lovely Ottoman-era building with leafy courtyard and friendly staff.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Middle of paphos which was actually really nice. Around the corner from the train station. Had a glass of wine with George. He makes great pastries with the breakfast. Everything traditional. Glad I got to stay here.
- June (10/5): - Nice hotel. Suitable for budget travellers. Close to the shops and restaurants.
- Eyad (10/5): - When you are there
You feel you are at home
Very friendly and flexible
- Michael (6/5): - No hot water, AC broken, toilet seat broken, pillows like cement. No info on hotel parking on the website.
But good breakfast.
- FIONA (10/5): - Traditional Cypriot hotel run by a great man called George . Friendly clean comfortable. Food superb . Highly recommended
- Celia (10/5): Perfect gem ! - Lovely quiet hotel in the middle of cafes , bars and restaurants. A traditional hotel with unique vibe to it unlike a branded hotel. Highly recommend staying here.
- Elaine (10/5): - Very enjoyable
- Maxim (8/5): - Have stayed several times and each time in different room, the fist one was also the best once, very big and with the balcony . So the room is a kind of a lottery . The place is very clean and with a character, Water cooler , kettle and the fridge are available. A good place to start your holiday at Paphos due to location the old town , Beach is about 30 minutes walking or 15 minutes by the bus
- Maxim (8/5): - may be noisy at night since it is in the tourist area. Very authentic- both building and rooms. There is a kettle in the room and a cooler with drinking water. The breakfast is very good . Far from the sea - hardly can be used for beach holiday. No problem for late check in .
- Tamar (10/5): - Great staff - great location, charming hotel and garden - We highly recommend this pearl of a hotel!
- Ruth (10/5): Best place in Paphos old town - The best place I’ve stayed in Cyprus by far. Couldn’t fault a thing. Was welcomed by the most generous people who went above and beyond in their hospitality. Highly recommend
- Gintaras Miezis (10/5): Very good - If you wish to have 5 stars surroudings, perhaps you will not get it here.
But the staff’s hospitality, authentic background and kitchen will leave the unforgettable impression.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Expedia has screwed up the booking and it only came through as one room on the system but the owner said no problem and gave us the two rooms anyway and said he would sort out with Expedia. Nice food as well and friendly service
- Verified traveler (4/5): Description not correct - Description is misleading the hotel in on a pedestrian street and very hard to find. The free parking is 5 minutes walk in a public car park. When we arrived at 3pm they hadn’t got our reservation and eventually we were given a small room with a shower which needed a good overall. We booked a room with a sunken bath, a fridge which we got neither also blackout blind which there wasn’t ant just shutters which didn’t close all the way so still let light in early morning. Very basic and very basic breakfast which was ok
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Traditional Cypriot hospitality in a wonderful setting. You are in real Cyprus, the history of the building, the warm welcome, the wonderful food and the simple generosity of the hosts. Long may it continue to welcome visitors to the real Cyprus.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - A very quirky atmospheric building but room not up to standard
- Giorgos (10/5): - The Kiniras Hotel was the perfect hotel choice for my trip Paphos!

Hotel benefits:
– Outstanding value
– Reservations easily amenable if you wish to stay longer
– No strict rules or policies
– Friendly, understanding experienced, professional, knowledgeable and personable host
– Clean room, cleaned everyday. Towels/soaps refreshed everyday.
– Highly responsive to any requests (e.g. towels/toilet paper/soap)
– Breakfast included (great food/huge buffet - fruits/eggs/bread/jams/honey/cereal/meat/milk/cheese/desserts)
– Also a restaurant with tasty/healthy/quality Greek cuisine (prices vary between dishes, because quality varies between dishes – i.e. some are very high quality. The rest is high quality. It is all worth it.)
– Room has powerful air conditioning
All in all, the room was everything I needed in terms of services and location. The hotel services, and location benefits were supreme for the price I paid. I am going to stay here again when I return to Paphos.
- Fuzzbox9 (8/5): - Very traditional and historic hotel in the old town. The facilities in our room were not a very high standard but the beds were clean and a fridge and hairdryer were supplied. The food in the taverna was home-cooked traditional Greek in the main and was freshly prepared and delicious. Breakfast was plentiful with fruits, yoghurt, cold meats, salads and eggs, omelettes and boiled. The owner, Georgio and his family and staff were friendly and helpful.
- Mike (10/5): - In the centre of the renewed Paphos town centre, this is a lovely traditional hotel with many original features - and a great family and staff to welcome and serve.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was not hot water and as a tall guy I couldn't stand in the shower
- Claudia (10/5): felt like home - This is a family business, a small but stylish place. We really felt like home. Mixalis (not sure if i write his name correct) gave us a ride from and back to the airport. it was absolutely magnificent. We enjoyed every second in there.
- Angela (6/5): Think twice - Travelled with my son booked two nights here .... could not find the hotel room over an hour so was not happy when we got there .... woman came to us could not find our booking evenually she gave us some keys told us our room number and pointed to where it was ... walked through the restaurant to it ... eventually opened the door no lights couldn’t see lock opened door couldn’t find light switch opened the bathroom door and put bathroom light on ... the room was small had a double bed I had booked twin beds had a very small window was stifling hot ... looked old and dated ... didn’t stay booked in else where
- Anthony (8/5): Traditional hotel in the old town - Traditional hotel with real character and charm and helpful staff. Located in the old town above the port area with great views over the town. Regular bus down to the beach (number 618, 4 buses an hour, bus stop is 2 minutes walk and the transit time about 10 mins and you can set your watch on their punctuality). Paphos was constant good weather, clear blue sky and fantastic swimming in the warm sea.
Rooms air conditioned with a fridge for cold drinks with buffet breakfast starting early so good for early-risers.
- Michael (10/5): Terrific place! - Perfectly located in Ktima near the bus station and museums; clean, tasteful, charming hotel. Reasonably priced, at least in the off-season, and they have a laundry service as well as free breakfast... WiFi was a little spotty, but otherwise a perfect two days.
- Sandy (4/5): - Ok
- vbcoach (6/5): - This is my 2nd visit to the Kiniras; the first was 2 years ago during the construction upheaval prior to the EU City of Culture preparations, Honestly, I had hoped for more after the construction was done. Yes, the streetscaping is pretty but incredibly sterile. I expected that all of that construction would have generated more pedestrian traffic in-front of the Kiniras. Alas, their street is still dead and the hotel is exactly the same. It is stuck in a time-warp! It needs something new to happen to it.
- Claudia (10/5): - Wonderful Hotel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great atmosphere, great value, good location. Definitely traditional!
- Brian (10/5): Old world charm - Staying in a family owned and run hotel was great so much better than a chain hotel. Everyone was helpful and friendly. . Shame I was only on an overnight stop. I would be very happy to stay there again.
- Lesley (4/5): Not good experience. - Old hotel that really needs updating some say quaint i say old and old fashioned. Poor shower small room no view old bedding and towels.
- Liz (10/5): - Lovely place. Lovely people.
Very accommodating!
- Jane (10/5): - This beautiful traditional family hotel is enchanting, warm, inviting. My visit provided a rare experience of the Middle Eastern inns of the past. Breakfast is served in an open central courtyard shaded by an enormous pine with the rooms surrounding this beautiful setting. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent: in the historic old town only three minutes from the main bus station. Mega hotels are all too abundant, but few of these historic hotels remain, this being one of the best.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - traditional greek taverna /hotel with plenty of character not a sterile contemporary establishment with excellent food
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location in dire need of update . - Very Disappointed as I liked the idea of a traditional hotel and the photos looked nice but the room was shabby and grubby in reality. The pillow cases had mascara on them!
- DAVID (8/5): Pleasant Traditional Hotel - I stayed for 3 nights and was very satisfied with the hotel. As the name suggests, it is a traditional type of hotel and full of charm. My comfortable room overlooked a pretty inner courtyard. The room had free wi-fi and tv, although I could find no channels in English! Nice and clean. Buffet breakfast was nice and the restaurant served good local food in pleasant surroundings. If I return to Paphos, this is where I will stay again. And all for a very reasonable price.
- peter (6/5): Shabby Chic but too much emphasis on the Shabby - A warm welcome was however followed by two days without hot water. The hotel needs a major makeover, the room decor is very tired whilst the en-suite facilities need ripping out and starting again. Our shower room needed a thorough clean at the very least but the shower screen leaked to flood the floor and the WC cistern took an eternity to fill!
Dining was disappointing although they try very hard. But there are some good authentic dining options within easy walking distance.
- Harold (8/5): Near transport - Management very kind. Huge self-serve breakfast. Only 5 minutes walk from bus station for Kato Pafos harbour, inter-city buses, tourist office and lovely handicraft market.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pleasant Hotel staff, good food, nice courtyard, minor maintenance issues.
- Andrea (8/5): Traditional Cypriot Hotel - This is the hotel for you if you like quirky. The rooms are decorated in bright colours, with a roof fan to cool the room. Our room had coloured glass bedside lamps, curtains over the bed with a crown at the top!
- Arthur (8/5): Old-world charm of the "Kiniras." - An excellent six days and nights in a hotel I have visited for sixty years and which I love because it retains its feeling of the peaceful old Cyprus before the island was divided. My room overlooking the charming court-yard with its trees, shrubs and classic nude statues was simple but adequate with a shower, wash-basin, lavatory, comfortable bed and ample wardrobe space. The buffet breakfast was excellent (and substantial); Anthea's beef "stefado" (spelling?) dinner, served in an earthenware pot with vegetables and risotto, was the best I've ever eaten, with beautifully hot and tender beef. It was a good start to any day to be greeted with a daily handshake and smile, as I got down the stairs into the court-yard, either from the hotel owner, George; his son, Michael (who also drove me comfortably and swiftly to the airport); or one of the staff like Nicholas (all names are given in the English version rather than their native spelling). The room was looked after daily by the cheerful and polite chamber-maids. I warmly recommend the hotel and I was pleased to see that quite a few people many years younger that my own 88 years were staying there and were apparently enjoying the old-world Cypriot charm of the Kiniras.
- happy808 (6/5): Beautiful communal areas, great staff, - Good breakfast buffet in beautiful courtyard setting. Great location. Helpful staff . Good price.
On the downside the bathroom decor was a bit tired, the shower was cracked and the beds skated across the room when you leaned against the head board. But it was clean and safe.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Beneath expectations - The hotel is very well decorated and furnished, however the air conditioner was antique and began to leak in the night. The bathroom door was also very loose and didn't appear to be fitted properly. There was a lot of choice for the buffet breakfast except there was a bug in my cereal!
- sarah (8/5): Lovely family hotel in old paphos - Very friendly and accommodating staff, thought I'd booked a double room so was disappointed upon arrival however the food was amazing and the location lovely. It's a bit of a trek from the beach but overall experience was very relaxing and lovely.
- Jen (8/5): Old style friendly hotel - Friendly welcome, pleasant staff, good breakfast. Delightful courtyard for eating.
- Kate (10/5): Character and conviviality - The staff could not do enough to help. Including transferring us to the airport, feeding us with delicious veggie food when Cypriots don't usually eat in the afternoon and looking after the keys for the car hire return until the man picked them up so I could go out.
Breakfasts are scrumptious and in the courtyard with Greek Gods, plants, birds and the odd dash of humour (look for yourself!).
George's art festoons the walls and gives the place soul. We had two one-night stays there at the beginning and end of our stay in the mountains. Stay longer if you can. I wish I had been able to.
- Csaba (6/5): Nice building BUT staff might trick you - The hotel is housed in a nice building which was really impressing to see, unfortunately the interior of the rooms (furniture, bathroom) really need some refurb. Sometimes it was disturbing to hear the noise of the restaurant situated in the patio, right under your window. What was more shocking was when I arrived with an existing booking, one of the waiters filling in for the receptionist told me that the payment hadn't gone through and made me pay again, though this time a slightly smaller amount. Both payments existed on my credit card so I could finally have the second payment refunded by Hotels.com. Be always sure to check if the payment has gone through on your side and do not pay till you are sure it has been declined.
This is horrible behaviour towards customers in an attempt to bypass the agent (hotels.com this time) to avoid paying commission I presume.
- Thomas (4/5): - Someone knocked to my door multiple times in the morning.
- Malcolm (8/5): Local hotel in Pafos old town. - A small problem locating the place, as roadwork's going on during my visit. But things improved as the works moved on. European City of Culture 2017.
Apart from this, great place and continental breakfast every morning, big choice.
George and staff very helpful.
- TONY (4/5): Hotel was in Old paphos - The address was in English but that address did not come up on the sat-nav and using the zip code gave you a selection of approx 6 streets so you needed the cypriot name not the english name
The town centre is undergoing a make over and have been for two years. Plus streets do not have name plates
I asked in a garage for the hotel which was 200yards away from the hotel and no-one knew were it was. I went into a tea shop in a side street and the man walked me into the next street and showed me where it was.
The sign was dark and on the facade with no illumination and as it was dark I felt i would be sleeping in the car.
They have lowered the street by a foot so you cannot drive a car down it. The manager took me round some side streets to some rough land to park the car, which a short walk through a lane brought you to the front of the hotel
I put that in the sat nav as favorite so I wouldnt get lost again. Half the shops in this development have closed down and the rest have got 50% discount so are also closing down making this area derilect
- Sheila (8/5): Welcoming traditional hotel - Very friendly hotel run by George and family. Excellent dinners served with buffet breakfast. There was a warm feel about the hotel which was elderly and traditional with a charming courtyard.
- Savva (2/5): Ok at a push. - Owner tried to scam money out of us by saying my card had been declined from original booking. Best thing about the hotel was that it was a traditional courtyard style building.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Central hotel in the old part of paohos, - what is apparent when you visit George's hotel is their consistent hospitality; George and his staff worked hard to make our stay comfortable.
The hotel is a gem in the old part of paphos. l love it's courtyard with sheltering trees and stone sculptured tables. (Italian)
We even love walking through the dusty roads that are being renewed.
The bedroom was basic and comfortable with air conditioning.
A family run hotel that is loved :)
- costas (8/5): Traditional old town mansion transformed into hote - Old townhouse transformed into hotel with a nice taverna in the inner courtyard shaded by tall trees, which is extremely pleasurable in the mid summer heat.
- Christakis (2/5): Disappointed - The room was small, very dirty, spiders webs in the bathroom very visible. Room was full of mosquitos. The airconditioning did not work properly and the shower was tiny.
- Philip (8/5): Nice place, very friendly and helpful owner - Pleasant place to stay, very flexible breakfast times. Owner (George) could not have been more helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Parking opposite the hotel and quiet neighbourhood
- Lesley (6/5): Home from home - If you would like to stay in an original Greek home more that a hundred years old then Kiniras is the hotel for you. In a central position in Paphos old town ideal for shopping and eating the hotel is similar to a stay with an uncle or aunt you feel at home immediately. The restaurant is good too. Nothing fancy but very welcoming.
- Richard (8/5): Nice B&B in Old Town. - Would stay again. Enjoyed my stay at Kiniras. Complimentary breakfasts nice but with no fruit or yoghurts, fry ups available. Mini bar would of be nice if working. Nice bed/ sleeps. Cleaned daily.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ktima Historic Cuisine. - Perfect location in Ktima Paphos. Restaurants bars fashion stores. One block from the intercity bus station. Respectful restoration of historic property. Thoughtful service. Nothing asked was too much. Wonderful breakfast with homemade yoghurt and jams eggs cheese marinated olives. Exceptional dinner with Cypriot cuisine and meze and local wines. Vegetarian moussaka. The only place we will stay in Paphos.
- Jonathan (8/5): Cheap, good, handy - Great value hotel in the old town. Pretty good restaurant attached in a nice courtyard. Ok for one night. Car park right opposite for €1 a day.
- Richard (10/5): Traditional hotel - Loved the traditional feel of the hotel, nicely located in the old town, easy to get around. The meal I had in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Perfect for me as I like to get a feel of the real place I'm visiting and not the standard tourist getups. I think this is an Idea location for couples or solo travellers, but wouldn't be suitable for families with younger children.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good and cheap place. Nice staff and owner - The hotel is small but beautiful. the owner, George, is a very nice and helpful man. It was a very pleasant stay and Cyprus is amazing! Rooms are all supplied with A.C., Fan, fridge, wifi, kettle and a good bathroom. The area is very quiet and very close to a bus stop to go to the centre.
- Jim (10/5): A great place to stay in Paphos - Great experience this from someone who travels extensively in 5-star hotels throughout the world. Upon arrival I was met by the owners daughter who welcomed me personally to the hotel and offered a cool beer "on the house" (nice touch I thought). George (the owner) and his staff, as many of the reviews on this hotel suggest, was the perfect host. They went out of their way to ensure not only me but all of their guests was being looked after well and for me this added greatly to a very enjoyable short stay. The room was as expected - everything in place, the location excellent, parking good, the restaurant authentic - the kleftico was great and the buffet breakfast - beautifully presented and fresh. All-in-all terrific place and great value for money. I never post reviews but in this case I had to comment and recommend Kiniras to anyone who looks for authenticity and personal attention offered in this 3 star property.
- John (10/5): Great value traditional hotel with superb food - The Kiniras traditional hotel offers very good value for money and really good food. When I booked I had some concern because I saw a negative comment on the internet but now I have been there I can see that this was not fair at all to George the owner. The hotel is of old Cyprus style and not a modern concrete box and as I like character this was very pleasing to me. The staff are very friendly and George the owner will go out of his way to be helpful. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the food, at this modest price I just did not expect it to be so good. There is a spacious car park opposite the hotel at one euro per day which is extremely useful if you are hiring a car as I did. The location was quiet and peaceful and well placed to visit the local museums which are most interesting and trips to the many scenic and historic places locally.
- Zohair (8/5): Kiniras at pafos - I stayed only one night. But I found the hotel centrally located. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room and the hotel was clean and in good condition. And I will use the kinrias again and recommend to my friends.
- Jugal (6/5): Simple, convenient - A simple no-fuss place. Does what it says on the tin. Good for tourists on a budget who want to be away from the heavy touristy and potentially noisy area. Not sure but I think the adjoining Kiniras restaurant also appears in the Lonely Planet recommended eating guide.
- hyo soo (2/5): It was a really unhappy stay. - It was a really unhappy stay. room condition was horrible. Also breakfast was.
- HERODODOS (8/5): ΦΙΛΟΧΕΝΙΑ ΕΞΕΡΕΤΙΚΗ - EXELEND
- GEORGIOU (8/5): 4 απολαυστικές ημέρες στην Πάφο - we stay 4 days 8 people 4 couples and was really enjoyment.
- Bernard (10/5): Traditional old style Cyprus hospitality . - I am a bit ancient these days(84) have lived and worked in a dozen countries and stayed in a thousand hotels.
The Kinaris suits me fine and I have stayed there 3 times inthe last 12 months. It is not 5 star and Georgio the proprietor would neversuggest that it is;an articulate and charming host,an accomplished artist,a linguist and a friend.
The hotel is clean, staff are helpful and curteous. The food traditional Cyprus fare is truly excellent.
I tell people it is for me the best hotel in Cyprus and I mean it
- Giannis (10/5): nice hotel in the centre of paphos - everything is near the hotel...
excellent staff and service i recommend it absolutelly
- Verified traveler (8/5): Family hotel - Great staff! I have to say that the owner of Kirinas hotel was helpful all the time.
- crofts (10/5): great location - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly book again, far to much to eat for the evening meal but excellent food. breakfast was also excellent. Top marks to all of you.hope to see you soon.
- Steve (2/5): Overbooked and moved to unacceptable guest house - Arrived at 22:00hrs to discover our room had been given to someone else. Booked into guest house 2 doors up by proprietor as a resolution - 3 beds in room, no windows, no en-suite, no air conditioning, no free wifi, no TV and available toilet & bathroom were absolutely disgusting.Breakfast was inedible, settled for bread & jam but no tea or coffee offered. Left as soon as we could in the morning. Owner tried to apologies but this was totally unacceptable. Feel we should be refunded our booking costs as this was our first time in Cyprus and likely to be our last.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great family run hotel in Pafos Old Town - Restaurant still open at our late arrival, so we could have supper in the pleasant courtyard, lovely girl taking our orders, owner friendly chap
Good aircon, comfy bed, althought the room we booked was compact it has everything even a kettle and a fridge, would stay overnight again.
