Guest Reviews
- Jessica (10/5): - Lovely property part of a lovely pub and restaurant. Breakfast was amazing, hot and tasty. Lots of choice for breakfast.
- Stuart (6/5): - Small room. Shower tray filling with water and not emptying causing water to overflow. Lack of storage space. Food in restaurant expensive for what was on the menu. Amenities of the hotel and all the staff were excellent and very helpful. Hotel was in a lovely area. But overpriced for such a small room.
- Amanda (10/5): - Lovely, friendly and clean. Great food. Would definitely stay again.
- Craig (10/5): Great food. Friendly staff. Clean rooms - Stated her a couple of times now. Really good VFM. Friendly staff really good food
- Craig (10/5): Exceeded expectations - Good service, spacious rooms. Highly recommend. Good food
- terry (8/5): - Room was across the courtyard in a side building. A bit small but very comfortable.
- Amber (10/5): - Lovely place to stay 10 min drive into center of Stamford. Would definitely return in future
- Paula (10/5): - Absolutely 5 stars. Second time we have stayed.
- Scott (10/5): - My second stay here several years apart. A lovley place to stay with lovely new owners.
- Holly (8/5): Fabulous! - 2nd stay here and love the mix of a lovely pub atmosphere and small hotel.
Fabulous food.
Offered complimentary tea or coffee on arrival.
One small ask to pop the radiator on before arrival in room as it was very cold.
- KATHERINE (10/5): - The welcome was very friendly and the complimentary coffee from Reception was a lovely touch. Our room was in the old part of the building. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. You need to duck under openings at parts on the stairs but this was part of the charm. We were going to an evening celebration in Stamford and although the front door is locked at midnight Dan kindly offered to stay up just requesting that we called to let him know ( we were like Cinderella and arrived back before 12). Breakfast was superb - a good choice and freshly cooked to order. Again the service was very friendly. Overall we were really impressed by the hotel and would certainly stay again when visiting friends. It has achieved an ideal balance between high end comfort and charm.
- Kathryn (8/5): Exceptionally Clean - Stayed in room 10, which was more spacious than the room from my previous stay. I would like to mention how exceptionally high the cleanliness of the room was, I stay away a few times a week, but the depth of detail made this a very pleasant stay
- Holly (8/5): Fantastic! - Lovely luxury but also very cosy room.
Very tasty pie for dinner.
Great customer service from Leah.
- Gemma (10/5): Excellent and beautiful area - Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Had a lovely stay...wish we could have spemt more time at the property
- Jan (6/5): Disappointed quint hotel but let down access - Staff were friendly
N
But we were allocated rooms up two back stairs accessed via a door had to duck so not to knock head on cealing .
There was a box with printer in making difficulty passing on landing.the fire exit was blocked by a filing cabinet
Our bedroom were nice and clean but the next day no one came in to service the room or make the beds
- Eve (8/5): - Beautiful location & perfect to host an occasion.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely room, friendly staff, yummy food.
- miss dawn (10/5): Beautiful hotel and location - Beautiful location and hotel, all perfectly built in cream coloured stone, I didn’t realise I’d booked such a lovely place so it was a great surprise when we arrived 😁 staff were helpful and friendly too, I felt like I’d stepped into a parallel universe where everything was perfect, even the weather!
- Alan (10/5): A breath of fresh air. - The hotel is in the delightful village of Ufford. The dog friendly room was clean, comfortable and our dog loved it. The bar and restaurant were light and airy and the food was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
- GORDON (10/5): - Lovely old building, but completely up to date
- Graham (8/5): Lovely little village - Pub, parking and the little chalet type rooms are very good. Stamford 10 mins away in a taxi. Breakfast nice and staff friendly. We’ll go back.
- Steve (10/5): A little gem away from the hustle and bustle - This is a really nice place to stay and a real gem to find. It is a little in the sticks but worth the extra drive in the morning.
Breakfast was good, the hotel staff are very friendly and the selection of ales was pretty good too. Our evening meal was well prepared and tasty.
I would have no problem staying here again
- Nicole (10/5): More than a B&B The White Hart, Offord, Stamford. - The White Hart staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was a problem. Lovely local village Inn, full of agricultural memorabilia and story board on local history. The room was superb and breakfast was first rate. I would recommend a stay!
- Hugh (10/5): Worth a try - Good stay at country pub food was very good. Bed a little soft for our taste
- Shirley (10/5): White heart - Fabulous. Looked after extremely well. Food excellent. Staff wonderful. Very clean . Just lovely. Would recommend this to anyone.
- JANE (10/5): - Fabulous stay. This was a last minute impulse trip so we didn’t know what to expect but on arrival we were impressed. Delightful setting, great facilities, excellent quality of finish to the interior and exterior of the property. We stayed in The Brewery annexe which is lovely. Rooms were not huge but well appointed and being on the ground floor, moving around the property was very easy. The little cafe tables outside these rooms was lovely. This is obviously an old coaching inn and the interior of the pub reflects this with traditional design and comfort. Log fires, comfy armchairs and leather sofas. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal which was good value and a great breakfast the following morning. Friendly and helpful staff. Will return. Highly recommended.
- Richard (6/5): - Room was excellent but on the morning of departure the shower was not working.
- Steven (10/5): Excellent - The White Hart Inn was excellent. Staff very very helpful. Rooms very clean. Breakfast was superb. Lovely setting in a stunning quiet village.
- Dawn (10/5): White hart - Beautiful comfortable accommodation, lovely food , friendly staff in picturesque setting
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nice quirky room in main building but a shame that there were many issues with it. Bathroom door wouldn’t close, main light not working, other minor issues around cleanliness. Lots of TLC required and a thorough clean. Breakfast poor on day 1 but improved on second day. I did report all issues but wasn’t offered any discount just thanked for raising issues. Wouldn’t stay again.
- jonathan (10/5): - Lovely
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good comfortable stay - good comfortable stay with a good variety of breakfasts included
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very pleasant staff
- Julia (8/5): - Great friendly country pub with a lovely breakefast, only let down was that the room needed a vacuum and there was rubbish in the bin, not sure what happened it didn’t ruin our experience, would still recommend
- MALCOLM (6/5): Battle Proms burghly House - The buildings were superb with bags of character but let down by the cleaning schedule and catering. There were no toiletries in the shower cubicle and despite bringing this to the attention of the management at breakfast on the first day nothing was done to remedy the situation. The housekeeping team must have been interrupted when cleaning our room as cleaning cloths and materials were left in the partly cleaned room on the Saturday. In fairness the landlady made a generous deduction from the overall bill on checkout. Just a shame that such a lovely location was somewhat spoilt.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very relaxed atmosphere produced by staff. After a gruelling journey, shown to our rooms swiftly and efficiently. Made to feel at home.
- Paul (10/5): Won’t find better in the area - Lovely country pub with great food, great beer and a great sense of humour!
- MARK (10/5): Weekend stay in hot busy lockdown times. - We were off to a simulated game day down the road. Although a boiling hot day the rooms were cool and quiet just what the Doctor ordered after a 3 hr car journey. Pre sleep beers were very nice. Early rise not a problem for a professional well run kitchen. Even had the ability to pre order so making our exit really easy. This was a busy busy weekend in the pub but the evening meal went without a hitch which for our dietary needs is amazing. Nice team well run. The car park although small never really seemed busy and we were able to park off street. Accommodation was nice. Beds good and firm but soft. Showers good drench head not good for the wife but she was there but there was a hand held head available so her hair wouldn’t get wet while simple showering. I’m told it’s a women thing.
- Tracy (10/5): - Lovely stay. Clean, comfortable room with good breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay and the staff where fantastic
- Nicky (10/5): very comfy - Lovely place with friendly staff.
Would definitely stay again.
- S (10/5): reat for a secluded stay - friendly welcome at check-in, very covid-safe procedures. Rooms clean and neat, very nice meal in the restaurant, and great breakfast. Staff very helpful. Recommended!
- scott (6/5): - Breakfast was advertised as included, arrived at the property to find this was not the case. Your advert should have been amended or advised in advance which would have allowed me to look elsewhere. It’s hard enough as it is as a key worker trying to find somewhere to stay and breakfast is a meal that’s even harder to find.
- StevieB (10/5): - Lovely location and property. We arrived late and the staff made sure they quickly took a good order to make sure we got fed before the kitchen closed (Deliveroo etc are yet to extend out here). The food and breakfast were lovely. The bedroom clean and ample for one night, a longer stay could feel cramped but in the summer you’d be outside anyway so I wouldn’t let this hold you back making a booking. They know their business is hospitality and they do it with pride, and I got the sense that if I needed any extra help they’d do their best to accommodate it. Recommend.
- Neil (8/5): Great stay - Beautiful surroundings and location. Very easy checking in. Small but very comfortable room with everything you need for a stay. Will return.
- David (10/5): - Great countryside location
Good meals
Cosy atmosphere
friendly staff
- Paul (10/5): Can't fault it - Lovely countey pub with a really.nice and friendly team. Jusy perfect for me!
- liz (10/5): ovely place to stay - I loved this place. It was cosy, had friendly staff and the food was excellent. Homemade crumble was delicious. My room was very comfortable with lovely underfloor heating. I will definitely return.
- Graeme (8/5): Comfortable, well appointed and convenient - Close to beautiful Stamford and Burghley House, in the small attractive village of Ufford. Our spacious deluxe room had a comfortable king bed and an excellent en-suite bathroom. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We experienced an unexpected weather-related issue during our 2N stay, hopefully a one-off and already addressed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the room in the converted Brewery. The room & ensuite bath / shower were new & very good. The underfloor heating was lovely, although it made the room rather warm. The service from all their staff was friendly & excellent. We had dinner in addition to breakfast. Both were delicious.
- Agnes (10/5): Fantastic find, just off the A1. - Friendly welcome, then shown to an immaculate, spacious room in cottage style annex across tge car park with a very comfortable king size (at least) bed. Shortly after arrival had a visit from another member of staff to ensure all was ok. Ensuite was well set up, spotless and boasted a choice of strong straight down shower or separate hand shower. Managed to get car to the door of the cottage for unpacking. Delicious dinner in the bar (our choice) and likewise excellent breakfast. Definite for a return visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): GBC - We stayed for two nights and were pleased with our choice of venue. The public rooms are full of character, and the manager and staff were polite, friendly and efficient. We had dinner both nights and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Our bedroom was clean, tidy and nicely decorated. All situated in an attractive part of the region. We would certainly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - First class establishment, Rooms Food Cleanliness All Good.
- john (8/5): Fab - A lovely place a great retreat from the hustle and bustle
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing food, friendly staff.Full of character, setting is lovely too.
- Frank (10/5): The White Hart March 2019 - Very up to date pub aiming for the top end of the market. Bit of a shock paying £4.60 for a pint of Tomothy Taylors Landlord when I normally pay £3.30 in my local.
- Neil (10/5): - Nice place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely country pub with excellent food. Just a shame our room was near to a noisy extractor fan going all night which interrupted our sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a beautiful inn full of character set in the lovely little village of Ufford. We really enjoyed our stay - the room was modern and well appointed. The pub itself is tremendous, great food, helpful staff - Paulw as very responsive to my questions about check-in/check-out and breakfast! You can't really ask for any more, congratulations to Paul and his team.
- Allan (10/5): - Lovely place to stay, nice food and drink, served well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The attention given to customer service at the White Hart is exceptional. We stayed for the weekend and the manager was around for all of the time and interested in our experience. A comfortable room, nice food and friendly relaxed atmosphere. A great break away from city life.
- James (10/5): Delightful Hotel Excellent Service - Beautiful hotel, friendly and excellent service, can’t think of anything that could have improved it ! We will recommend the White Hart to friends.
- Lorena (10/5): Really warm house - Super friendly staff. Lovely room. Beautifull place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Always good every time I stop there. Warm, friendly and clean
- Geoffrey (8/5): - A very pleasant small hotel which had been converted from a brewery.
Our room was vary spacious with a very comfortable bed. There was more than enough storage space BUT like most hotels it was very short of coat hangers in the wardrobe. Our Television was the largest I have ever had in an hotel and the picture was perfect.
The bathroom was very large with a modern bath and excellent shower. everything was very new and my only complaint was that there was no stool or shelf near to the toilet to put our toilet bag.
Our evening meal was good "Pub Grub" and very generous.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
It is a good venue to visit much of Lincolnshire and, of course, Burleigh House.
We enjoyed our visit
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet village pub - A lovely quiet village pub with good food close to areas we wished to visit
- Glenda (8/5): Good for business trip - Great but breakfast not served early enough.
- rita (10/5): None - Nice hotel for overnight stay, to travel onto York next day.
- Jill (8/5): Good place to stay - We had a great stay at the White Hart, there were a few little problems but the staff were excellent and very helpful
- Arthur (8/5): Lovely country pub - Excellent overnight stay at a lovely country pub with super restaurant.
- Jackie Aarons (10/5): - Lovely place to stay.
Clean tidy and great food 😊
- Paul (10/5): Surprisingly nice - Great accommodation we chose to lowest price room so it was small but high quality accommodation. We stay one night so the size was not a problem. Staying for a week may be different. Location and staff excellent. Would go back without hesitation.
- PVH51 (6/5): Lovely pub/hotel built in the local stone - Hotel itself and staff efficient, courteous and professional.
Our stay completely spoiled by appalling restaurant with a quite restricted menu where almost everything was off. As most dishes were served with chips you don’t want to hear....there are no chips! In fact no potatoes of any sort. The purée part of another dish was also off. One of the soups was off. Oh well maybe after dinner coffee might be nice.....there is no cream. Sensing trouble we asked about next morning. There are no kippers.
Maybe the fish and nothing was ok but we declined. See how you get on but suggest you have an alternative back up plan for eating if staying here.
- Jill (8/5): Definitely recommend. - It’s always a lovely stay at the White Hart.
- chas (10/5): Beautiful - Set in a beautiful little village. This little hidden gem is the ideal place to get away for a short break. The rooms are comfortable. The bed was amazing.
Staff cannot do enough for you. The gardens at the back are fantastic. Was a little concern when we checked in as our room was above the bar. Could not hear a thing. And it was busy. They were fully booked that night. The bar is such a warm and welcoming place to be,with so much history to look at.
But the main thing is the food. I had the beef and it melted in the mouth. My partner had the hake with kingprawns, I'm not a big eater but I couldn't believe my luck when she couldn't finish hers. God it was good.
You really do get the quality of an expensive hotel for a really reasonable price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Interesting Inn. - Nice inn with lots of interesting antiques. Dog friendly room was large and clean. Bed very comfy and large. Food including the breakfast was good. Down side was noisy at night which I suppose is to be expected with pub type accommodation. Room was very hot and felt uneasy leaving window open as being ground floor it would be easy for someone to climb in. Had to leave window open at night as so hot. Overall quite a nice place to stay.
- Michael (10/5): A break in our journey - Wonderful location, very helpful team and a great place to stay....
- Marlene (10/5): - Great stay in lovely village inn.Food and accommodation good.Staff friendly.Rooms and bathrooms high standard.Thank you for a lovely visit. We’ll be back!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Perfect place to stay, or meet up with friends
- Zo (10/5): - Stayed here twice before. Love it. Pretty area. Lovely pub and food amazing. Always like staying. Breakfast very lovely too. Staff are so nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): Approximately 4 miles outside Stamford - Excellent accommodation for our one night stay, used restaurant on the Sunday evening, bar open until 9.00pm. First class breakfast included in the rate cooked to order, perfect start to the day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Situated in a lovely village. Staff were brilliant, we were staying in the outside chalet which was very good but no room for a chair to relax in, compact but a little small but would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel, we loved it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - quiet, friendly country pub. Nice food and lovely staff.
- david (8/5): - Set in a beautiful village, lovely pub and rooms. Food and breakfast where very good although I was surprised that there was no vegi option on their menu, when I questioned this I was asked if I wanted fish! I did get a nicely prepared mushroom dish but found out the next morning that this cost me £11.95......for a few mushrooms and some pasta. Very nice overall......
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cosy hide away - You couldn't better this place. Everything was done to perfection. Beautifully decorated room. Comfortable bed. Fluffy thick towels. Friendly staff. Tasty breakfast. Sadly we had no time to dine but pub's atmosphere was great and menu looked mouth-watering.
- Daniel (8/5): Hidden Gem - Stayed here for rat race dirty weekend in stamford. Amazing comfy bed and the bathroom was luxurious. Ordered food to our room , very quick service and food tasted amazing. Actually tasted like the chef cared about the quality of food being served , which makes a nice change staying in a hotel. Only downsides was that it was stated that there is wifi, the connection didnt seem to reach our room and we had to be in the pub to actually get it.
- Simon (6/5): Disappointing - I've got to be honest I was a little disappointed. The room was nicely furnished but there were extensive cobwebs on the ceiling. The wifi didn't work in the room (it did in the pub), the soap and shampoo dispensers had obviously been topped up with water so it was impossible to even get a lather but the bed was comfy and the room was nicely furnished. Dinner was not ideal. There was no obvious vegetarian main, in fact the Crab and chilli linguine had a (V) against it - the waitress suggested the goats cheese and beetroot starter with a portion of chips. Breakfast was also disappointing - the toast had mold on it and I waited 30 mins for breakfast to be served, making me late. The waitress was doing her best and I can only assume they were short staffed. Maybe this was a one-off, but it was enough to put me off staying again, which is a shame.
- Maurice (10/5): Great country pub near Stamford - Exactly what we want in a country pub/hotel: very good location, good food and drink, clean, well-equipped (up to a standard rather than down to a price), friendly people, good value, good weather! Can't think of any negatives.
- Ian (10/5): Wish we could of stayed - This will be a strange review as we ended up not staying.
We were visiting from USA and WiFi was extremely important and unfortunately the WiFi was having problems the day of our arrival. The staff tried their very best to get us up and running and were even prepared to upgrade us to a room closer to the router but we still could not make it work reliably enough and we had to ask to cancel.
We were not given any hassle at all for cancelling last minute and we received a refund without any problem at all.
I would like to thank them for their understanding and actually wish we could of stayed because the Hotel and our room itself looked wonderful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff big clean room excellent food. Very enjoyable stay
- karl (10/5): Home from home - I have stayed here a number of times on business, really enjoy staying, makes working way from home much more bearable!
- snowy (8/5): Nice area lovely new feel to the rooms - Larger choice of real ales and I would have given 5 out of 5. Staff were very friendly and helpful and accommodation comfortable thank you for a nice stay
- Linda (10/5): Unexpected gem of a find - Booked purely as a half way stop to our final destination therefore had no expectations. Lovely to find somewhere so welcoming and clean in such a pretty setting.
- jenny (10/5): Lovely pub hotel with great food - Set in a small village a few miles from Burghley House and Stamford, the White Hart Inn is a lovely place to stay. The room was clean, well-appointed and the food was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. You might want to specify minimum stairs if you are very tall or struggle with stairs as our room was at the top of some extremely narrow stairs with low- flying ceiling beams and doorways but not all the rooms are like that and we would definitely recommend staying here.
- Anthony (10/5): The White Hart, Ufford - Really good, enjoyed our stay at the White Hart Ufford, staff very friendly and helpful.
- Christine (10/5): Characterful pub with immaculate accommodation - We stayed one Saturday night. Our accommodation was in a renovated stable/ brewery and was top standard and very comfortable. Moreover it was peaceful, right in the heart of a delightful village with gorgeous honey coloured stone cottages and opposite the old church with chiming clock. The staff on our arrival and the next morning at breakfast were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast options were from full cooked breakfast to cereals, fruit salad and yogurt. We would definitely stay there again. For any overseas visitors who want the authentic English village experience, this would be ideal.
- Margaret (10/5): Outstanding!! - Everything was amazing, across the board. To stay in this beautiful, quiet place while only 20 minutes from where I needed to work was wonderful. The food was great! I will always stay here now when I travel to this area for work.
- Simon (10/5): Great village pub, with 4* accom facilities. - Very attentive and professional service from all the staff. Excellent beer and food. The room (in The Brewery building) was well appointed, and clean but a little on the hot side, but this is because I didn't want to open the window as it over-looked the car-park (potential noise and security concerns).
- Peter (10/5): Overnight stay - Very comfortable room with excellent bed and shower. All staff extremely good.
- Geoff (4/5): Well-appointed room (#11) but electrical noise - Couldn't fault the room but unable to get a good night's sleep because of noise from air-conditioning unit or cold store cooler. It was like sleeping next to a fridge door with the electrical unit coming on intermittently through the night. Not recommended for those susceptible to this kind of noise.
Wi-Fi available by standing out in the rain in the courtyard. Host advertises that rate included free Wi-Fi. It was unobtainable in Room 11.
I like kippers. They didn't have any that morning.
Three reasons why we won't be staying here again.
However, the room was modern and comfortable. Let down by the aforementioned. Very disappointing because the place is well situated in a lovely unspoilt (and quiet!) village.
