- Havva Ece (9/5): The accommodation and our room had a vintage feel and were very nice. The location was very close to the train station a -

- Samantha (10/5): Lovely weekend stay - The Elleray is a lovely hotel right by the train station which was perfect for us! We had a family room that was decorated lovely, spacious and spotless!
We had a delicious breakfast both mornings and Caz went above and beyond for our little girl, even cutting her toast in to heart shapes!
Thank you for having us, we will be back!

- Sarah (4/5): - The location was ideal I did not feel the rooms lived up to a deluxe room. The binds in the bathroom didnt fit. It was noisy and there was no chair. I felt it was poor value for money
- david (10/5): The best breakfast in Windermere - The landlady did a fantastic job during our stay works so hard as do the other staff. Lovely dining area were we had breakfast twice , what can I say probably one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time piping hot and tasted delicious all locally sourced ( the bacon and sausage were fab ). The bar was very welcoming and was busy in the evening which is nice to see all the locals supporting local pubs. We will definitely be stay here again...
- steph (7/5): Perfectly adequate for a short break - Good central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast Beds were a bit lumpy and the furniture is tired. We had to stand on a wobbly stool to reach the shower activator

- Victoria (10/5): -
- Jan (10/5): Wanted to stay longer - Staff were so lovely. Breakfast fab.
- Laura (8/5): Enjoyed our stay, perfect for what we needed - Nice family, dog friendly pub with accommodation above, rooms were very clean and functional, fresh flowers in the room fresh bottled water, we were in the family room which was a great size, mattress might need replaced soon tho as starting to show wear, pub closes at 11 even at weekend so there was no noise Everything was good, one night there was no food I take it the chef phoned in sick which was disappointing but these things happen
- Isa (10/5): Lovely place to stay ✨ - This was such a pleasant experience . The room was clean and cozy, and the location was absolutely perfect. The staff were very friendly and genuinely lovely people , and the food was really nice . We would happily stay again.

- Alan (10/5): It was excellent and we even ate dinner there. - Kaz was terrific and helped us with everything. Seeing I had a cane she took my suitcase upstairs without being asked
We had a tight morning schedule and she had our breakfast ready promptly at 9 so we go make our lakes tour one
day and our train the next.
When asked booking.com was discouraging about this request and sent me a curt email Everything
- Man Fai (5/5): - 早餐有驚喜 房間不太整潔,地氈有點殘舊!
- Wendy (8/5): Lovely !!! - Stayed here previously. Good location and central to where we need to be. A shame that there was no power, due to works going on outside, so bar and restaurant closed. Plans had been put in place for breakfast, but power back on by late evening. Wonderful breakfast as usual, very welcoming owners/ managers. Will visit again N/A
- JOHN (8/5): Enjoyed our stay staff were very good, downside is the up keep of the hotel in general. - Breakfast was well cooked, tasty and followed what we ordered the night before. The decoration of the inside of the hotel The decoration of the inside of the hotel is badly needed to be upgraded. There is mould on the window frames in our room.
- Naxin (10/5): 超级开心!!!工作人员超级好! - 早餐超级美味🤤 无
- Jeffrey (6/5): Good location, nice and clean but other than that ... - Really clean, good breakfast. Barman was really snotty when I asked if they sold coffee. Couldn't sleep because so loud until 1am. The bed was beyond uncomfortable, ridiculously bad, hotels need to learn to change their mattresses more often than they do.
- Kate (10/5): A very positive, heart warming weekend. - It was situated well. There wasn’t any bar noise at night. The staff were remarkably happy and positive. The breakfast was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Requests were instantly acted upon.
The continual effort to ensure that the Christmas markets went ahead was a lovely thing to witness. We hope today goes well
For you.
- Martin (7/5): - The staff were excellent, very friendly and professional. Breakfast was very good We weren't put in the room I had booked. Paid for a Deluxe King room and was accommodated in a standard Double. Which although nice, was not what I had paid for.
- Mark (8/5): Pleasant stay , staff we’re very helpful and friendly - Convenient location No parking
- Kelly (9/5): -
- REGINA (8/5): Especial. - O hotel é antigo e muito, muito charmoso. Encantador, com suas dificuldades peculiares. Gostei bastante.
- John (5/5): Pleasant staff , good breakfast - Bathroom and breakfast Supposed to have been a deluxe double room , nothing deluxe about that room
- Stephanie (8/5): Comfortable with great food, very pleasant staff and an enjoyable stay. - The breakfast was exceptional.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The bathroom was very modern and the bedroom was comfortable. There was no parking at the hotel or lift to rooms. The parking was an issue because it was quite expensive and about 1/4 mile away from the hotel.
- ALAN (8/5): Relaxing central location - Quiet clean room. Friendly staff. Great breakfast . No parking.
- paul (3/5): Very unenjoyable - The room was dirty The room was dirty.plus toilet paper on the toilet brush and cob webs everywhere dust on the bed side lamps and dried food on bed spread and the mirror was dirty on web site there was parking, we had to park about 10 minutes walk away as we both have disabilities this was not acceptable and we left earlier than expected.
- Victoria (10/5): Excellent stay, this was my second visit and I would return again, thank you - Excellent breakfast and really kind staff
- Greg (8/5): - Hostess was kind, attentive and most helpful. The Elleray is very convenient to the Windermere train station, to busses connecting other Lake District locations, and to the Mountain Goat tours departure. The pub seemed quite popular with an attractive menu. The coil spring mattress was not comfortable, hope it is replaced soon. Google Maps shows The Elleray as a 4-star, handicap accessible hotel - it is neither, as the stairs up to the rooms are narrow and winding, and the accommodations, while nice and serviceable, were not high-end. The Elleray is dog-friendly, which was a bit of an issue for those with allergies.
- Craig (4/5): Disappointing… would not return - The location is great, although no parking we found space on a side road without a problem Its Dirty… carpets are disgusting, mattress incredibly uncomfortable (u can feel the bed frame through it) room smelt fusty. We didn’t return for the second breakfast of our stay as the glasses had lipstick stains on them and we both had hair in our breakfast on the first morning. Really disappointing
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Macey (10/5): - Staff were incredibly friendly, the bed was super comfortable, and the complementary breakfast was incredible! The location was very central so literally everything was in walking distance and we could enjoy a pint downstairs too.
- Julie (7/5): Pleasant stay could be improved. - Friendly staff, nice breakfast. Room 1 bed mattress has sunk, uncomfortable. Room very light all night, light curtains, lights on outside all round pub. Lovely large bathroom, poor shower pressure, no stool or chair in bathroom or hooks on wall near bath.
- Ellen (5/5): Not great. - Good location, the pub is nice, lovely beer garden, food was delicious, staff very friendly, hard working & accommodating. The rooms are in desperate need of a full refurb, wallpaper peeling off, uncomfortable bed, pillows felt like they had rocks in. Toilet seat hanging off, loose taps, shower gel looked toxic, floor tiles loose on bathroom floor, holes in the towels…the list is endless
- Danielle (10/5): -
- Chloe (9/5): -
- Shingo (8/5): -

- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (4/5): Lovely staff but premises need attention - Good location but parking was a bit of a problem due to nearby roadworks Shower not working, old carpet in room was covered by a couple of large rugs which were trip hazards as the corners were all raised catching your feet as you moved around.
- Sharon (10/5): We will be returning. - Staff were excellent and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was perfect.

- Frank (7/5): Excellent and kind owners/staff. - Live and lovely plants in the room.
Hot water for baths.
Decent sized television. Breakfast a bit late for us at 9am.
- Ing (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (10/5): Perfect! Would definitely return if we’re in Windermere again! - Fantastic location in beautiful Windermere; just a couple of minutes walk from the train station. We had a fantastic evening meal in the well stocked bar area; I had a fab vegan aubergine and walnut lasagne and my sister had the fish and chips which she said was delicious. The apple crumble for dessert was also fantastic! Lovely breakfast with plenty of coffee with fruit juices and cereals also available. The lady who runs the hotel is exceptionally helpful, friendly and an absolute delight; all the staff are wonderful. Can highly recommend The Elleray!
- Lesley (9/5): Lovely stay - Great location
Great staff
Great breakfast Lack of parking
- James (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend for restful stay! - The location, the breakfast, the room facilities themselves, the freebies. The Elleray makes for a great pub, but a bad hotel. The god awful noise from the pub until 3am preventing us from getting ANY sleep. The room wasn’t completely clean, with cobwebs and bits in the carpet. Though the bed was comfortable, it was sloped outwards, so my partner and I nearly fell out a few times in the night. The air was so dry in the room that we woke super dehydrated too.
- Athene (8/5): Very good -
- David (2/5): Very poor - The bar & dining areas were lovely & the food was very good. Our room was very small, with peeling wallpaper, scuffed walls, stained rugs & the room didn't look like it had been hoovered. The advertised wardrobe was just a pole across a tiny alcove & a curtain & there wass gap under the main door. There was no advertised WiFi, no one came in the room to tidy or replace cups & glasses & it was very noisy especially from outside as it was above the beer garden. The only good thing about the room is thankfully the bedding was clean, however the pillows were lumpy. The only real saving grace was the breakfast was very nice & plentiful however we had to ask for toast.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - The location was super central - close to lots of restaurants in Windermere. We chose to use the open-top hop on/hop off bus service to visit Grasmere, Ambleside & Bowness as the bus stop is close by. The breakfast was big & delicious and the service was super. Thanks for a lovely holiday :)
- Luke (8/5): Brilliantly positioned pub with rooms, close to the station but also the town of Windemere - Very friendly and welcoming host and appreciated the gesture of a room upgrade
- Joseph (10/5): A pleasant 2 night stay. - Central and the staff were very pleasant. Nothing
- Griffin (9/5): Superb - BREAKFAST WAS GREAT ,BUT NO TOAST ,EVERYTHING ELSE BRILLIANT ,STAFF AND BAR MEALS NOTHING REALLY,STAYED LAST YEAR ,WILL DEF STAY AGAIN
- Greg (8/5): Great location fantastic service - Hospitality fantastic breakfast really great. Bed & bedding did not match the great service but fine for the price.
- Allan (7/5): Satisfactory - Good and convenient location in Lake District and in Windermere No Parking for hire car. The only was a public car park 6-8 minutes walk from the hotel
- Xu (10/5): it would be better if we could have nice breakfast. - Very good location. Clean and comfortable.
The boss lady was very nice and changed the sheets for us. Breakfast was not available until 8:30. I missed it because I had to catch the train.
- Mincher (6/5): Great location, if visiting Windermere again, I would research the parking much closer. - Breakfast was very good every day, as was all the food over our stay. Good beer. There didn't seem to be any attempt to adjust the available heating in the property, in view of the short cold snap in the weather during our stay. I know the staff were pushed to the maximum in general day to day running, they could do with another pair of hands at known busy spells, this sometimes caused the chap at the bar to be quite 'short' with customers. I hope that is taken as a constructive comment. Great location, lack of parking a nightmare for any visitors lacking in mobility.
- Owbridge (7/5): would stay again - location , atmosphere, facilities ,friendly staff. more staff required for housekeeping
- Edwin (10/5): Exceptional - It was a lovely and inviting place. We felt a nice sense of comfort with the staff and owners. The whole first floor was the pub and eating area. Very comfortable there plus we had nice enough weather to use the beer garden.
Our room was quite spacious and very comfortable. And the location of the Elleray was just steps away from the station.
All in all, a great stay. Thank you Cas and Tom
- Tracey (10/5): Would definitely stay again. - Room was lovely, staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious. Nothing, everything was good.
- Mervyn (7/5): we enjoyed are stay and the staff were super helpful - The locations is perfect and is close to the train station and local supermarket. It is fairly close to walk to lake Windermere. Coffee shops and restaurants are easy to walk to. Our tour bus collected us at the station which is a 5 minute walks away There are stairs and no elevator
- Derek (9/5): Superb -
