Guest Reviews
- Claire (10/5): - Jean is a wonderful host, couldn’t do enough for us to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was lovely too.
The B&B is so close to a beautiful beach, we went every morning for a stroll after our hearty breakfast and watched the seals, absolutely stunning.
- Roderick (10/5): - Very friendly
- barrie (10/5): Barrie from Chelmsford - Enjoyed our stay at the white lodge, Jean who runs the b&b a good host, good breakfast and clean cosy room, nice and close to the beach and boating lake.
Stayed for 2 nights and will be back 👍
- Sayyeda (10/5): - Thank you Jean for an amazing time and service. Truly the best I have seen in a while!
- Juleigh (10/5): Excellent host and accommodation. - Jean was the perfect host. Her kindness and like ability was second to none. Each morning she greeted us with a smile and was genuinely interested in your comfort and life. I have never stayed in any accommodation that has made me want to return unlike The White Lodge. This place is highly recommended by each of us. Well done Jean x
- dean (10/5): - Rooms are all immaculate great effort from owner and staff amzing breakfast best i have had in yarmouth
- Hayley (10/5): The White Lodge in Great Yarmouth. - Jean and her team of staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was perfect. Toast, cereal, yogurts to a fry up. Was a wonderful choice. Our bed was a super kingsize and i couldnt touch one side to the other lol. I would definitely stay here again, beats a holiday inn or travel lodge anyday.
- G (10/5): Our first visit to White Lodge - Jean made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautifully clean and fully stocked with teas, coffees etc. Only a 20 minute walk to the pier. Ideal after enjoying a hearty breakfast.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- ricky (8/5): - The room was very clean and a pleasant room with a cook breakfast. Location was within a 15 minute walk to the seaside attractions and had plenty of safe parking on the road opposite the hotel. The owner was very chatty and even remembered everyones name
- Craig (10/5): - This hotel is great!
Jean and her staff run a great place and it is ideally situated just a short walk from Great Yarmouth town center.
The breakfast is great, with a lot of choice and is of great quality. The rooms and beds are both clean and comfy, offering a great place to relax when not out and about. And, the hotel is spotless, with a great living room to relax if if you prefer that to sitting in the bedroom during the day.
I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for somewhere in the area.
Thanks to Jean and the team!
- Alan (10/5): Excellent host, well recommended!! - Jean was at the door on arrival with a lovely warm welcome, she showed us around first the lounge area, and dining area and our table for breakfast, gave us our breakfast sheets to tick off exactly what we wanted for breakfast, the showed us our room which was number 9, it was a lovely room, very clean, and noticed straight away that there's many milk sachets rather than a couple, we always find anywhere else we have to keep asking for more, not this time, the bed was massive and comfortable, our window looked out to the garden, after a good night's sleep, we went down for breakfast, lots on offer, cereals, yogurts, juices, many types of teas, and white, brown etc bread before you have your hot breakfast served fresh, amazing breakfast both days we were there, and friendly service, can see why guests go back again and again, well done Jean and staff.👍🙂
- Neil (10/5): Outstanding - Simply the best - comfort; food and location. Internet speed great. Breakfast was v good quality.

- Stephen (10/5): Great place - The White Lodge is very good. Jean, the owner, is very helpful and can't do enough for you. The breakfast was great, you could have what ever you want, plenty of choice. We stayed there because the racecourse is in walking distance and we won a few quid.

Jean our landlady was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
- Michael (10/5): Would highly recommend - Very pleasant 2 night stay for Ladies Day at the races. Within walking distance of the course. Jean the landlady was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and all freshly cooked. The room was pretty small but it was comfortable enough for a 2 night stay. Would highly recommend this property as it is a nice house and gray location
- Julie (10/5): A lovely hotel - Jean the lady that owns it was amazing start to finish a lovely lady could not do enough for us lovely room and lovely breakfast
- G (10/5): Amazing Stay - Me and the better half had a 2 night stay at the white lodge b&b. Jean the owner was a lovely lady and a great host, breakfast was amazing on both days and we were waited on by Sydney who was very efficient and friendly.
Room was great and very clean.
Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be going back !
- Pat (8/5): - Jean is a very good host and has a beautiful house. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Her staff are superb.
Our only criticism is that the breakfast slightly let it down. I would rather have waited for the hot food, rather than it be ready to serve. Eggs always overcooked. Quality of the food excellent.
- Paul (10/5): - We had amazing stay... it was my fiancees birthday treat and jean left a card and box of chocolates in our room and happy birthday banner.. jean was the perfect host breakfast was very good and filling the room was immaculate as was everywhere we went within the property... jean obviously works super hard to make sure her guest are comfortable and happy nothing seemed too much for her... very very good stay would absolutely recommend.. many thanks
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Closed to the beach Very clean and well kept spaces. The owner was amazing made our stay welcoming
- Kristy (10/5): Home away from home - Jean has a lovely home away from home with fantastic staff. Our room was all we could wish for and more with a large comfy bed. The breakfast was exceptional and set us up for the day. Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely be back
- Cara (10/5): - Classy and comfortable art deco b&b run by a very kind, hardworking host. Thoughtful decor, great breakfast, and a quiet location in the northern part of the town, directly across from the beach (and Venetian Waterways) and with views to the sea. Easy access to buses up and down the coast or a 20 or so minute walk to the train. Likely the nicest place in town.
- Heather (10/5): Perfect 👌 - Everything, great hospitality, clean & spacious room, very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast. Nothing
- anne (10/5): Great weekend - Great weekend away hotel and staff are great everything you could need good location easy parking good breakfast.
- Dave (10/5): Fabulous, and definitely stopping again - Excellent choice, excellent service, brilliant around
- Peter (10/5): Home from home - Couldn't have wished for a more fantastic stay. Jean couldn't have done any more than she did. The room was clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits. Beautiful bed and lovely soft towels.
Breakfast everything you wanted. Delicious cooked breakfast.
Nothing was any trouble.
- Timothy (10/5): Five star mini break - Great place to stay if you are in Great Yarmouth. Really good service from Jean. Had a great time, really would recommend this place to stay. Excellent breakfast too.
- J S (10/5): - A very warm welcome and very enjoyable stay.
Jean is the best.
Ideal location and a good hearty breakfast.
Worth the money
- Dean (10/5): Great Breakfast & First Class Hostess - Great Location, and the host (Jean) was exceptional. It's no surprise so many people go back time and again to stay there. Breakfast was excellent and had plenty of options.
- Steve (10/5): Perfect weekend. - Jean was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was large and spotlessly clean, perfect for our weekend. Well located in a quite road, just a short walk into town. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options. As regular visitors to Yarmouth we have found our new favourite. See you later in the year. Nothing.
- Raymond (9/5): Superb - Lovely friendly Staff. Attentive and available if needed. Good communication.
- Steven (10/5): Absolute perfection - Firstly, have to give a special mention to our host Jean for her incredible hospitality. She went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed, including Vegan ingredients for my partner's breakfast.
The room we were allocated has a seaview and was very clean and comfy. The shower room was also very clean and well stocked with all the extras you might need.
Breakfast was very good, and there was a great range, from a good old fry up, cereals, yogurts and pastries.
The White House is just 10 minutes walk from a number of bars and restaurants. Across the road, you will find Waterways, which is a very pleasant series of Venetian themed lakes and provided a very pleasant area to take in some warm Autumn sea air. Overall, one of the best guest houses we've stayed on and one which we certainly intend to return in the future.
- allan (10/5): Horse racing break. - Very nice place.good size bedroom, with very big double bed.Handy for racecourse, walkable.Nice breakfast, good choice.Jean is very nice and informative.Handy for catching bus into town, stop across the road.Regular buses.

Great breakfast cooked with lots of options hot and cold. She remembered every guests name and made us feel at home. We would definitely book again and would highly recommend.

- Raymond (10/5): Five star stay - Great stay at the White Lodge, lovely and quiet great nights sleep.
The hosts are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast tasty and lots of it too!
- Andrea (10/5): Lovely stay with a great host - 2 night stay. Lovely host welcomed us and showed us around. Really clean and homely. Parking available on the road in front of the building. We chose traditional cooked breakfast option for the next morning by completing our preferences on arrival, at breakfast we then made the selection for the next morning. Plenty of self serve options too including hot drinks and juices.
Definitely would return.
- Marie (10/5): - Lovley friendly b&b ,breakfast and service top doller x
- Cally (8/5): - Lovley stay at the White lodge. Felt very welcome. Far enough away parking on the road is easy, but an easy walk along the sea front into GY.
We were sad to leave the giant bed to come home 😊
- michael (10/5): - The whole experience of White Lodge was superb The rooms were very clean and tidy and the breakfast was plentiful with a great choices I will definitely stay again.Well done Jean
- CHUNG THONG (10/5): - We had an amazing stay at the White Lodge. Jean has been the most amazing host, making sure that you were well looked after and made us feel home. I made some silly mistake with my room key and Jean was so kind and supportive. I would definitely recommend this lovely home and certainly stay again if in the area. Thank you for the amazing weekend
- Gavin (10/5): - Brilliant got everything you need ⭐️
- Colin (9/5): Very enjoyable - The property was rather quirky, the property was well decorated and some of it was unusual We had the smallest room this was because we were only staying for 2 nights
- Warren (10/5): Very comfortable clean and friendly guesthouse with a breakfast to die for - We were made to feel very welcome on arrival by Jean the owner who was both very accommodating in our check in times and also very helpful with her knowledge about the area . Very comfortable room which was spotlessly clean then in the morning the breakfast was totally amazing . We would certainly have no hesitation in booking this property again if we are in the area . Nothing everything was spot on .
- Rachelle (10/5): Perfect B&B - One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. Owner Jean is going out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable - she is the perfect host. Great breakfast cooked to order, lovely location in the nicer part of town with easy access to the public gardens / beach if weather plays its part, ample parking, spotlessly clean rooms (there were 7 of us). We loved it so much, already booked again.
- Marcus (10/5): Fabulous service and location - We were staying at the White Lodge, set back from the seafront in the town and were given a quick tour. The room was a nice size with a lovely large bed and very quiet so we had a quick cuppa while sorting our stuff whilst resisting the temptation to have a nap! I'd have liked a desk I could have worked out but I am probably unusual in that regard and a couple more power sockets by the bed wouldn't have gone amiss. The location was fabulous and it was a minute walk to reach the beach, Venetian Water Gardens and the boating pond. Fabulous breakfast and exemplary service.
- Margaret (10/5): - Close to the gardens and pleasure beach. Friendly host and great breakfast.
- Janet (10/5): Mini break - Apart from the weather we had a lovely time Jean was as friendly as always and made us feel welcome
- Kim (10/5): - Jean hosts The White Lodge, and is a lovely lady who goes above and beyond to look after you. Had a great weeks stay, and will be going back. Very good quiet location, and only a short walk to the middle of Yarmouth. A lovely art deco period guest house, which is pleasure to stay in. Lovely rooms with ensuite, tea & coffee making facilities in the room, toiletries and more. Breakfast is lovely in a pleasant dining room. Help yourself to as much cereals, toast, coffee , tea, juice etc as you want. Then you can have a lovely breakfast cooked for you. A gem of a place to stay with Jean.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely warm welcome from Jean, comfortable and well equipped room, good breakfast and a short walk to the racecourse, sea and town centre. Easy, safe parking in a nice quiet road
- Jayne (10/5): - Beautiful house, lovely location. Service was fabulous. Breakfast was wonderful and Jean was friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble. We all had a great stay and would highly recommend.
- anne (10/5): Great weekend - Great room very clean and comfortable great sea view near to beach
- Kenneth (7/5): Enjoyable peaceful break in a comfortable hotel despite the weather. - Jean our host was very warm and friendly and helpful . Only to willing to accommodate us . The breakfast was superb, and the bed very comfortable as I suffer with back problems however I managed to get a good night’s sleep very peaceful and quiet. The on suite was a little to small for me with my back problems and the shower had a fixed head which worked ok it’s just I prefer a detachable shower so that I can rinse every where other than that we have no complaints.
- Alan (10/5): - Jean is an exellent hostess, we had a most excellent stay, friendly environment, friendly staff and guests. We will stay here again.
- Jane (10/5): Really lovely, would recommend - Jean the host is fantastic, really happy to help. Breakfast was lovely and it's a super clean home! I had no complaints

Very characterful. The rooms were beautifully furnished and so clean. The breakfast choice was immense and everything perfectly cooked to order. Spot on! Nothing
- Gillian (10/5): Superb, friendly B&B - highly recommended - I stayed at this great, friendly BandB in the quieter area of Great Yarmouth over Easter. Even before I arrived, Jean checked my arrival times and was ready at the door and made me feel really welcome. Lovely room with sea view.
Breakfast was excellent with choice of hot food. Jean made sure it felt like a family breakfast and a few guests were obviously regular customers. Great start to the day!
A nice touch was decorating the hotel for Easter, hand-knitted chicks/bunny with chocolate egg. Her lovely assistant was game enough to wear bunny ears!
Great location, even for me without a car. Excellent restaurants. Recommend Chicos and Alexandras.
- Emma (10/5): Amazing stay! - Amazingly clean, beautiful room and an extremely friendly host. Bed very big and exceptionally comfortable, coffee, tea, water and biscuits in our room. Lovely hot shower, and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful host Jean. She was fantastic.

Loved our room I had ground floor as I can’t do stairs it was perfect spotlessly clean fresh white towels lots tea coffee milk biscuits and loved the decor of the room thank you Jean for giving us a memorable week
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The stay was lovely nice spacious clean room, but the bed wasn't overly comfortable.

Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choices. We were there for our anniversary and were left a card and box of chocolates in the room when we arrived, which was a lovely touch. We'll definitely be back
- Brian (10/5): - Well presented accommodation, excellent service by friendly staff, cant wait to go again
- Simon (10/5): - We had a lovely stay here this weekend. Very clean, tidy and comfortable rooms. A very warm welcome from Jean when we arrived. A fabulous breakfast that kept us going most of the day too.
Just outside of the main strip so nice and quiet but easy to get into the hustle and bustle of the seafront when you want to.
Great place and definitely planning on a return visit.
- Joanna (10/5): White Lodge - Extremely pleasant bed and breakfast. Comfortable bedroom, great breakfast and situated in a quiet crescent only minutes from the sanddunes, sea and the occasional seals. Friendly owner for whom nothing was too much trouble.

- Bane (10/5): Excellent - Lovely Jean who made us very welcome, was helpful and informative. Went the extra mile ensuring we were OK. Nothing, no complaints
- neil (10/5): A fantastic long weekend at the White Lodge - We stayed with Jean at the White Lodge when we decided on a long weekend in Great Yarmouth in June. Best choice we could have made. It started with Jean greeting on arrival, welcoming, friendly but also professional, and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room (No.1) was HUGE and a super king bed with art-deco furniture which was great. Bathroom was cosy but worked just fine for our needs. Clean was an understatement and Jean made sure everything was spotless. Breakfast was superb - lots of selection, and everything taken care of. Nothing was any trouble for Jean at any time. We really couldn’t have asked any more of her. Excellent value all round and Jean made our weekend what it was - fantastic. Great location too, just 15 mins walk into town (on flat ground). Thank you so much for everythng Jean, we will be back. 100% recommended. Angie & Neil x
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Would have preferred toast and coffee to be served at breakfast rather than self service as I would imagine at busy times the small are could become quite congested.
Host was very friendly and welcoming and the room was large and well kept. Overall had a lovely few days.
- Duncan (10/5): Short break. - When we arrived, we were greeted by Jean, the owner of the B&B. She was very welcoming and friendly, she asked us if we needed anything. The rooms were inkeeping with the property very querky.
