Lighting low, bathroom terrible - Let cation was good Bath plug did not work, spa did not work, shower head was too low, so you hav eto bend down or sit in the bath for the shower to spray on you. Of course oyu can hold it but that is hard when you wash your hair. Water went all over the floor as bath seemed to be leaking. Sink was cracked. Shower/bath experience terrible. An extra blanket would have been nice. Room was nice, but a little cramped

Maggie (8/5): Great place to stay in the heart of Daylesford - very comfortable and convenient, I would stay here again. - Fantastic location, spacious room, very comfy bed, great spa in room, easy parking, handy having the cafe and bar downstairs - there’s a lot to like about this place. Very minor maintenance issues like bathroom shelves and toilet roll holder loose and aslant.

Riley (4/5): Don't bother - The spa bath & location The floor creaked with every step. The hotel was very run down. Both mornings we were woken up to the sound of renovations & vacuuming. Bed was very uncomfortable.
Claire (6/5): - Location was perfect - right in the centre of town which means walking distance to the supermarket, cafes and local shops. The bed was extremely comfortable. The cost was not reflected in the room. The room had REALLY poor lighting - even with all lights and lamps on, it was too dark to read a book. Speaking of the lamps, they took up so much space on the bedside tables that there was no room for personal items. The room was often not cleaned properly - bed made up but cups not cleaned and no vacuuming. The bathroom door handle and toilet lid were broken. My impression of the hotel can be illustrated by this - the feature of my room was a giant piece of artwork on the wall. It had obviously been knocked at some point and was extremely crooked (like seriously angled) and no one from the hotel bothered to straighten it either before I arrived or during my 3 night stay. That lack of care was evident throughout the hotel.

Team was great, free glass of wine at the bar then a bottle for the room, complimentary! Great save! There was a spider in the bathroom and the toilet roll kept falling off the holder because it was defective. When I ran the jacuzzi tub, some particles came out of the jets so may need to clean those.

Jenni (7/5): A lovely if faded beauty in the main street of Daylesford. - The hotel was perfectly comfortable for a 2-night stay, and right in the heart of Daylesford with free, easy parking. Bed was very comfortable and the large, puffy pillows were wonderful! We had a walk-in shower with very good water pressure, which was great. The AC worked, the room was quiet, the staff were lovely. The hotel resturant and cafe were very good!! Honestly there was nothing substantial to complain about. On the downside, the hotel is definitely in need of some upgrades cosmetically - its looking very tired. The bathroom shelves were all droopy and there is nowhere to put your stuff in the bathroom. Horrid little on-the-wall hairdryer which fortunately I did not need to use. Big spa bath which daughter used but no robe or bath foam. Lots of stairs to hike up and down to get to the rooms. These are just little things and would generally not affect a 1-2 night stay, but don't be expecting opulence!

The rooms had a lovely feel to them. Would def recommend. GREAT Location. Bathrooms need refurbishment (unless it was just ours). All be it everything you need so no complaints here.

Our room booked initially was unacceptable as every floorboard sqeaked loudly. The round bed was too small and our feet would have hung over the side. No window. The alternative room was only accessible from outside the main building but was more comfortable. We were greatful to be able to change rooms quickly and without argument.

Emily (1/5): Worst accomodation in Daylesford - Only good thing is the location. Daylesford is lovely The biggest issue being the window wouldn’t close and was clearly broken pieces of it on the window sill. The split system had been leaking for a long time with staining on the walls. The couch was stained. The toilet seat was broken, the toilet paper holder had clearly come off the wall and attempted to be stuck up with glue. The kettle did not reach the PowerPoint making it dangerous to use. This is not an over $300 a night hotel room quality.
Kirsty (8/5): Beautiful room in a great location. - Room was beautifully furnished. Heater worked very well! Didn't have time to use the spa bath, but loved the look of it. Better lighting in the bathroom or in the bedroom in front of the mirror to apply makeup would be good but not a deal breaker. There were ants coming out of the bathroom sink tap, but they weren't anywhere else in the room.

Was disappointed as we had ants in the bathroom and main room coming from cracks and when we called to report it, was told it was the country and that's what happens in the country. When told i wished for the manager to contact me, was never contacted and had to call again to speak to another staff member who told us our room would be cleaned and upon returning the ants were still there.

Michael (5/5): - The lovely old building The shutters were broken so you cold not keep the light out. The TV was turned off at the power point and so high that you couldn't reach, this was ceiling hight, I'm 194cm tall and couldn't reach. There is a small bar fridge but it is near against the bed on one side which makes it near impossible to get to the bed on that side. The door hits the bed when opening. You dont expect to pay that price for a cramped substandard room that has no usable tv and a sevear lack of maintenance. The bed was comfortable tho

The room was spacious and pretty tidy. The parking was first in best dressed at the back of the property. The hotel did not have lift and was not accessible for those with mobility aid if required. The shower had mould and the tiles were missing the grout so the bathroom could use an update or tidy. The exhaust fan kept going off with a sensor and we couldnt figure out how to turn it off.

Olga (8/5): It was a comfortable stay on Vincent st the Main Street with safe parking. - The proximity to everything. The lighting in the bathroom was poor. Needs lighting over the mirrors.
Rose (9/5): Great location, close to everything. Lovely food and service. - Dinner and breakfast were outstanding! The young gentleman that served us was really good at what he does (a lot). Service all around was excellent. Highly recommend. Lighting in the bathroom wasn’t great, but manageable. Tv, remote and wifi wasn’t too good either. But we didn’t need it much anyway.

123MissLilly (2/5): Arrogance Plus - Today 28th We had lunch in restaurant 6 of us . Booked for6 people for the court yard at noon. He took our booking for 1.30 and wrote on a piece of yellow paper and put on counter. We went back at 1.25 to be told no booking . I could see the yellow paper and said to the waitress (who didn’t care ) there it is- answer no sorry not in the bookings . As they weren’t busy they Finally offered another table in the window, that was reserved for other people. Firstly ordered 6 drinks , they arrived one at a time . We asked after 20 minutes for the missing lime milkshake. Well !!! did we get a lecture that there wasn’t a lime on the menu. We checked and yes there was a lime flavour . Another staff member fixed it and bought out chocolate. The meals 1 hr after ordering arrived 2 at a time - one of the two bolognese missing. Again had to fight for it. No toilet paper in the ladies toilet I have eaten at this restaurant on the cr for yrs taking parties of people, and meeting regional friends for lunch. It has been 12 months since I ate there . I can’t believe it was the same place as food was so average for the price and size. There were many groups of people cancelling orders due to a long wait and others giving strong feedback at time of payment . You lost me today , with your attitude and the staff busy doing nothing
ashwake73 (6/5): nice - the room was nice, good size, great location.. walking distance to shops - bar and cafe in the hotel was nice, we had a circuit breaker trip, and we lost the power to the TV and GPO - I sent a txt messages to two mobile numbers for help and didn't hear from anyone, had to call in the morning.. so wasn't great

Stanley (10/5): Great Local Hotel, great for everything! - The room was really nice! Bed was big and comfortable. Lighting was perfect. The café was amazing! The reception were very friendly and helpful. I liked that the air-conditioning in the bedroom worked really well. The door to the bathroom I was not a fan of because it was completely glass and I didn't see the point of even having a door. The bed was comfy, the pillows however were a bit too soft for my liking. I wish there was a proper shower instead of the bath with a shower head attached. The heater in the bathroom did not work.

McMahon (4/5): I appreciate the location, but I would not stay here again - The bed was comfy. It is in a great location. We enjoyed the spa bath. My main issues were: the battery on our door lock died partway through the stay. This meant our keycards wouldn’t work. They had to give us a physical key, but the door was really fussy to open with the key which caused significant inconvenience and delays and no apology or compensation was received. There were 4 tiny lights in the room. One was broken. The lights had different intensities affecting our ability to see. The light provided did nothing. The light fittings were not reflective of what was shown online. The bathroom also flooded as the walk in shower sprayed water everywhere. This put us at risk of slipping and caused us to walk through water. While there was internet, there appeared to be a parental lock, which affected our ability to access YouTube. The lamp fittings were also dusty, so I’m not sure when the room was last cleaned properly. The bed doona had yellow stains, making us question when it was most recently cleaned.

Elton (7/5): Fix the noisy bathroom fan! - Room's here are clean and beds comfortable. Check in smooth and hassle free. The hotel is dated, bit this is part of its charm. We stayed in the 'Vue' room (Room 10) which also had a spa bath and shower over the bath. The only downside is the bathroom fan (which comes on automatically with the light) was extremely noisy. We could not have the bathroom light on as a result. Sounded like it needed some maintenance.

Jenkin (7/5): Over priced for the condition of the room. - Good location and parking off the street. Very old and run down in accommodation areas not clean, house keeping done late in the day and not very good, didn’t empty bins, wash up cups / saucers and left dirt towels behind in bathroom. Fan in bathroom very noisy and makes grinding noise. Air conditioner was shutting down after 15 minutes. Followed up and got a replacement remote that fixed this issue. Not worth the money for the condition of the room.
